Morning Dod'ers!

Here's a nice new shiney list for when the old one is full.

Pull up a squishy chair and feel free to help yourselves to the Sw friendly snacks. Posters from the old room will be moved in shortly Wink.

chis sadly you can't safe them up but I relax over the weekend. We often have a takeaway and I get something vaguely within syns. Then add on a couple of large glasses of vino.

csws good idea about saving HEB. What's kira milk?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 27/10/2011 21:44

*save them up

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/10/2011 21:49

Kira milk is a dairy free milk made from coconuts. 400ml is a healthy extra, which I think is more than any other kind of milk, so I guess it's really low in fat. I only have about 150ml though.

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/10/2011 21:50

lots of people do save them up though chips. Some consultants seem to focus on 10 syns a day, and others refer to it as 70 per week. I think once in a while it is ok to do, but would try not to make it an every week thing.

WotsThatLurkingintheHEDGE · 27/10/2011 22:53

up to now I have been doing it the Cheese way but with 1 stone to go I can no longer get away with it, so weekend takeaway is off the menu until I have got to target. I went to my group weigh in tonight and I was thinking about staying for a change, then I saw they were having a Halloween party so I scarpered [hgrin]

Cheeseandbiscuits · 28/10/2011 07:27

Won't take you long hedge if you are strict! You are my th-inspiration! Gerrit?!

Better night with DD hope everyone else got some kip.

B: melon and ff yog
L: Spanish omelette and salad
D: some sort of casserole
Snack: cereal (heb), ml yoghurt, fruit
Exercise: 2mile walk. I'm considering shred DvD too!

grinningzombee · 28/10/2011 08:37

Good morning everyone!

Cheese re the boozing - he said it was a mistake, and that the landlord had taken a payment he shouldn't have done (he has his card details). Funnily enough, H got to the pub 40 minutes before me despite saying he'd be later (planned?) so I didn't get the opportunity to ask the landlord first. H told me he'd already discussed it [hhmm]. His so called best mate behaved awfully towards me while we were there too, so it wasn't the happiest night out.

Anyway.

Good news! I put ds to bed just before 10, after an episode of him crying, and had to leave him to cry for a few minutes in his cot. He dropped off... and slept until 7.30 without waking at all! [hgrin] I feel totally spoilt today [hsmile].

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast, fruit and yogurt
Pork meatballs in spicy tomato and onion sauce, roasted veggies

kid · 28/10/2011 11:16

well done babybee, thats the sort of sleeping you need to do!

I didn't go to bed till 1am again, that needs to stop before I go back to work as I won't be able to function with just 5 hours sleep a night.
I have woken up this morning with a killer headache. I was dreaming about a child at work. The dream involved me having to give her an injection and I have massive needle phobia. I wonder if I got so stressed out about the dream that it caused my headache?!

No idea what my plans are for today. Royal mail have managed to lose a parcel of mine and the manager is going to call me on Thursday. Shame she forgot to call me so I'm going back down there today. I doubt the parcel is going to turn up, but I want my money back for the missing item (Xbox accessorie) DS is upset as its his parcel!

LakeFlyPie · 28/10/2011 11:35

Morning all, quick one as DS2 has just woken up and will squawk shortly.

Fantastic news about the better sleeping, bet you feel like a new woman bee, hope it lasts.

Managing a better week (at last) food wise.
Have a huge pan of butternut soup which helps and a few meals prepared in reserve for weekend.

BF:FF yog, apple + muesli
L: Butternut soup
D: Spag bol
Snacks: Satsumas, yog, Options for evening choc fix

Oh dear squawking has commenced.......

grinningzombee · 28/10/2011 12:23

Thanks Kid and Lake. It's amazing the difference a few hours in a row can make!

I've just prepared the first stage of the Butter Chicken recipe. It's now marinating in the fridge ready for tomorrow night. have to say that the smell is fantastic, and I can't wait to try it tomorrow. Just been working out the Schwartz madras curry powder syn value (cos I noticed it had sugar in it!) and I think it'll work out to 2 syns per portion. So very good then.

Got to go - I can hear the toilet seat being banged!!!!!

Slinkenstein · 28/10/2011 13:12

Hey Gang - bee I'm so so happy for you that ds slept wonderfully last night! Long may it continue, I bet you feel like a different woman today.

Sadly, my friend lost her battle with cancer on Wednesday Sad. At least she's at peace and not in any pain anymore.

The EA's/vendors are still messing us about with negotiating a sale on the house, so no news there. Have told them if they don't accept our final offer by Wednesday, the deal's off.

kid what an odd dream/nightmare! I woke up with a headache too, but that would be the white wine I had after Zumba last night [hwink].

Cheeseandbiscuits · 28/10/2011 18:51

Sorry to hear that slink. how you doing? Sad

So pleased you got a good nights sleep bee. you deserved it.

Am trying to resist the urge of a takeaway and am going to make lamb curry. Now.

Slinkenstein · 28/10/2011 19:36

I'm ok ta.

Glad you replied - thought I'd killed the thread! How's the lamb curry going? We had chicken curry but I cheated and used a jar. Of madras sauce, and we have dss (11) tonight - almost blew his tongue off I think, poor lad!

We've got the house! Finally. Realise there's lots to go wrong, and we have a long way to go, but at least they accepted the offer and we can get the ball rolling. Don't think there's any way we'll be in for xmas, prob be mid Jan.

Hope you're all having nice Friday nights.

CantSleepWontSleep · 28/10/2011 20:41

Yay for offer being accepted slink.
Not so yay for your friend.

Curry powder is listed as being free, although I can't find that particular one specified. Surely it can't be as high as 2 syns per portion bee?

b: bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes
l: leftover mince and cous cous salad, apple
d: cross between 'turkey hatch' and 'cottage pie' made with leftover roast pork, with braised leek, peas, and little gem lettuce (that was yum). Pineapple, melon.

planning on weetabix later.

grinningzombee · 28/10/2011 21:32

Evening Smile

Slinky I'm so sorry for your loss Sad Hope you're ok ((hug)) Yay for the house news, and fingers crossed it will all be plain sailing.

CSWS I saw the recipe said free as well, but when I looked at the curry powder pot, I saw it had sugar in, plus the internet search revealed it has 17.8g fat per 100g too! So I used the syn calculator thingy on the SW website. I hope it's wrong, but better safe than sorry.

Cheese bless you for saying that Smile I do hope the urge for the takeaway passed, and that you are eating some nice homecooked food instead Wink

Dd was fine and full of beans this morning, then suddenly wilted this afternoon. Seems to have come down with a high temp Sad. I knew something was up when she came and napped next to me on the sofa. I did manage to get some toast into her, plenty of milk and a chocolate brownie bribe so at least she's had something. I am hoping tonight will be quiet after the glimps of nirvana last night! Last thing I want is dd having a sicky bug (fingers crossed it's a cold or something). She perked up after some Calpol, but had the dip before the next dose. We'll see...

Butter chicken update - I had a smell of it again this evening I think it's going to be a winner.

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 28/10/2011 21:50

Thanks ladies, curry was delicious - it was the SW lamb rogan josh. Yum, I am glad I didn't get a takeaway. I have an alpen light bar to have in a bit, must not ask DH to get a choc bar for me on his way home from work!

Slinky so pleased about the house - you are doing much better than us! Congratulations. Are you having a cider to celebrate?

I think I am coming down with a cold, oh well. Maybe I will go off my food Grin bee hope DD is OK and let us know how the butter chicken goes down.

grinningzombee · 29/10/2011 03:14

Hope the cold doesn't turn up Cheese.

Guess who's back to his usual tricks? Joy joy!

OP posts:
Cheeseandbiscuits · 29/10/2011 09:50

Sad for your loss and yay for new house slinky
yay and pah for DS's sleeping bee.
hope everyone else is OK and well.

bit of an off couple of days here. Felt SO poorly on Thursday, but craved pie and chipsBlush so I had itBlush Still poorly yesterday, pumpkin carving at a friends, then got invited to a youth club halloween party and spooky ghost walk in the dark around the village with ghosts and hanging men and banging gates etc. (DH had to take DS3 back to the car, our friend dressed up as a witch and had a bottle of red hidden inside her coatShock). Then back to friends as I had to collect DH (he had driven friend through later), and we stayed on for takeaway. Still feeling pants today. Thought I was feeling better but aren't.

WotsThatLurkingintheHEDGE · 29/10/2011 14:30

sorry you are not feeling too good Ria .
Bee i feel for you on the sleep front, DS2 is a pants sleeper and the only way I can get any sleep is to bring him into bed with us, he will grow out of it by the time he's a teenager i'm sure
Slinky so sorry about your friend ((hugs))

Food today
B Melon, apple and natural yog (1/2 syn)
L baked pot and beans and grapes
D Friends coming around Baked mushrooms (using HEA and B for cheese and breadcrumbs) , Chicken baled with vegetables and French bread for the guests. A smidgin of wine but only a glass as I am on stand-by to look after my friends LO if she goes into labour and i have to drive there. My friend is bringing pudding and it would be rude not to have what ever she is bringing around Grin

so hopefully we can keep the syn level under control

must clean the bathroom, bye for now

grimRiaper · 29/10/2011 16:01

pah! I was heading back to bed, but DH has been summoned by our friend (as I knew he would be if I gave in to his suggestion of a nap) to cook for the halloween lunch party she is hosting tomorrow. No idea how long he'll be. I have tesco cottage pie and veg for the boysBlush, I may have a little tomato soup, then we will visit my parents as we havent seen them for a week, then I will watch recorded Strictly and hopefully do my nail varnish for tomorrowHmm and maybe rehearse my makeup if I am inspired into feeling suitably theatrical by Strictly!

grinningzombee · 29/10/2011 18:03

Evening everyone!

Cheese you must put up a pic of dd in her costume. Bet she looks soooo cute!

Hedge good luck with the dinner tonight. Ds doesn't sleep when in bed with me either... more on that in a mo.

Ria Hope you feel better soon, you always seem so busy!

Last night. OMG. Ds woke at 11.50. Went back to sleep at 5.20. I was wide awake, but just started to drift off when at 5.50 dd woke up crying. Arrrggghhh!!! After dosing her up with calpol, milk and a bribe, dh got up with her and let me go back to bed, so I managed 2 hours. I know he can sleep through, and that makes it all worse!!

Ah well. Went into Nottingham today, and got some new handcream as my skin is so dry and splitting. Got it in Lush, and treated myself to a couple of bath bombs too.

And dd got picked on the product test thread for the Pooh Bear!! She is very very excited and keeps asking when he's coming Grin

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Nothing other than a cup of tea
Butter Chicken curry (I can't wait!)

OP posts:
grimRiaper · 29/10/2011 20:52

hope the butter chicken is nice bee.

I found a lush bath bomb when I cleaned out the bathroom cupboard. It was a secret santa prezzie from my PN thread!

grimRiaper · 29/10/2011 20:57

bollox. (sorry) have to go and do the yard before we "do" partying tomorrow... hope I don't chip my nail varnish! and probably will have to leave off the slap so I don't scare the horses!

grinningzombee · 29/10/2011 21:29

Just finished my tea.

Butter chicken recipe is the dogs doodahs [hgrin]

I will post the recipe tomorrow for anyone who didn't get the mag this month. The only thing I will change next time is adding the water. I don't think it needs any.

Yum yum yum yum yum!
