Morning Dod'ers!

Here's a nice new shiney list for when the old one is full.

Pull up a squishy chair and feel free to help yourselves to the Sw friendly snacks. Posters from the old room will be moved in shortly Wink.

Do you know what the problem is with getting in to the website chips? Does it just not like your email/password combo?

Cheeseandbiscuits · 26/10/2011 22:18

Oh shit. I am going to have to pull my finger out to hit 10 10 my Xmas. I WILL start to shred this week!

WotsThatLurkingintheHEDGE · 26/10/2011 22:20

beat me to it CSWS. Which also means it is 8 shopping weeks 'til Christmas argggg don't know what I'm panicking I never do anything shopping until 2 weeks before. This year will be different Grin ha ha ah

I've just been on the SW website Chips and it seems OK I'd check your password, I think it is case sensitive.

kid · 26/10/2011 22:37

I made jam filled cupcakes which don't look very appertising but do taste lovely. I also made a chocolate nutella swiss roll cake. It looks amazing and tastes even better!

I fixed the sound on my xbox so perhaps I should start to shred again. I never made it past level 1 last time Grin

grinningzombee · 27/10/2011 09:13

Kid you are such a tease with the nutella swiss roll!!! Naughty lady Wink

8 weigh ins left to Xmas eh? I need to lose at least 1.5lb each week to get to my Xmas goal then. And there is my birthday next week, and then ds' first birthday a couple of weeks later. Uh oh!

We had another very bad night. I am at the end of my tether. Any ideas on how to get ds to stay asleep? I can get him to go off initially, but then he wakes a bit later and decides that's it for a few hours. It's putting a big strain on things between H and I. Mind you, so is finding two card payments to the pub when he was working.... Angry

Anyway.

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast, fruit and a yogurt
Either quorn chilli or Lentil Pie

OP posts:
kid · 27/10/2011 13:30

bee when you say you can get him to go off initially, how do you do it?
I found that if a baby doesn't know how to fall asleep by themselves, if they wake up in the night, they can't get back to sleep by themselves.

When he does wake, don't turn any lights on, don't smile, don't make eye contact just lay him back down and say night time or sleep time or something like that. You can stay in the same room if you like so he can see you.
I hope you don't mind my suggestions, you may be doing all of the above already. I know how hard lack of sleep is, my dd didn't sleep through the night until she was 2 1/2 years old!
My dS has slept very well since he was 13 months old after I did cc for 2 nights.

grinningzombee · 27/10/2011 14:13

Kid I bf him to sleep Sad. He is sleeping in our room still, so is next to me in his cot. We don't have any lights on, no tv. I laid him back down lots of times last night, and stroked his back and shushed, but he went nuts. Also tried leaving him to cry for a bit, but he woke dd (for the first time ever), so I ended up in the sitting room with him while H sorted her out.

He will have to go into dd's room at some point, but I don't want him waking her. Lack of sleep and grumpy dc is not a happy mix! It all seems very catch 22.

OP posts:
kid · 27/10/2011 14:22

Is your dd school age? If not, its not the end of the world if he wakes her as she can have a short nap the next day. BF is great, but babies also use it as a comforter. Does he use a dummy?
Could you express milk so his last feed and any during the night is from bottle?of course I understand you may not want to bottle feed, its just an idea to break the habit he has gotten in to.

Does he nap during the day? What's he like at falling asleep then?

grimRiaper · 27/10/2011 14:28

Sad bee, I have no helpful advice at all hving made a complete pigs ear of the betime thing with all of mine. DS1 sleeps ok now... Can you accidentally "pinch" H's card from his wallet?

have just got up. am on second application of vicks on my feetHmm. the DCs have broken the desktop computer so I have had to get up and dressed to come to my mums to check the asda delivery slotSad

fab day yesterday, walked for miles (considering I was with DSis) then got a bonus workout as the cliff lift closed just as we got to it, so we had to walk up a steep bit back to the car!

am going to send DS1 to the shop when I get home to buy me tomato soup. will SW tomorrow.

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/10/2011 14:34

Bee - please don't beat yourself up for helping your baby to get to sleep in the most natural way possible Smile. He will learn to settle himself in time. It can be much harder when they are in with you, but if circumstances dictate that he must be then so be it. Or could you bring your dd in with you so that he can learn to sleep in a different room without you before you move her back in there with him?

grinningzombee · 27/10/2011 15:47

Thanks everyone, you're all making me emotional!

Dd is only 2 1/2, so a while to school yet (might start playgroup in the next few weeks though!). I like the thought of them swapping rooms... I shall seriously consider that - mind you, dd might hate it!

He doesn't always nap - he'll fall asleep in the car, and occaisionally in the bouncy chair if very tired, but mostly I bf him for that too Sad. Dd never naps in the day now, unless she's ill or sometimes in the car.

He does drink from a cup too, so that's always an option. Not expressing though, I never seem to get much doing that.

Ria The walk sounds very energetic! Don't blame you for sending someone else to the shop.

I've just made a huuuuuuge quorn chilli. Got a 500g packet instead of 300g, and it'll do 3 nights for 2 of us. 2 boxes in the freezer for a night when I can't be bothered.

kid · 27/10/2011 15:54

bee I think the important thing to remember is, he will get there in the end with his sleeping routine.
Well done with being so organised. The most organised I have been today was putting dinner in the slow cooler a few hours ago.
I had a gym classes booked for tonight but the instructor is sick so its been cancelled .nevermind, its so miserable our there, I'd rather stay inside tonight.
If its stopped raining, I might go and see if my car tyre will pump up. I'll need the car on Monday so need to get it done tomorrow or Saturday at the latest.

grinningzombee · 27/10/2011 16:07

Nah, not organised - it was either cook it, or have nothing for tea later!

I wonder if your gym buddy will say she is disappointed as she was going to go tonight...? Moi, cynical? [hwink]

MadameBoo · 27/10/2011 17:37

Hello gorgeouses - I had a bit of a fail last week so have propely started again this week. Took me a while to get around to reading the WW bumf and I went away for the weekend so it seemed pointless starting.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 27/10/2011 20:10

Hello everyone.

Been a good day food wise and walked 2 miles. DH is still on lates and I didn't get dinner organised so at 7 I considered a takeaway. But I was good and pulled out some noodles and made a stirfry.

B: missed so had 2 alpen bars during the day (HEB)
L: Jacket potato, baked beans and salad
D: Stirfry.

An exhausted DD also up twice in the night. Must be something in the air. Desperate googling at 4am revealed the 8 month sleep regression. Nooooo

boo good luck with the restart

kid I wouldn't be calling your gym buddy a buddy for much longer!
Bee I have no suggestions other than this too shall pass. We do CC but it isn't for everyone. What has your DH said about the secret boozing?

Chipskilartar · 27/10/2011 21:20

Evening everyone! Hope you've all had a good day. Well day 2 done and dusted without too much pain, bit peckish now, but about to have a cup of tea to see if that helps. I've also been able to get into my account online - yippee! I called them at lunchtime and explained the problem, logged in on my phone while she was looking at it and sods law it went in first time! I've managed to plan meals for next week and order shopping on line tonight so it arrives tomorrow, but looking at the recipe link you posted cheese I'm just off to add rice noodles and prawns for Singapore noodles on Saturday night!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 27/10/2011 21:26

Singapore noodles are delcious, its on our menu for next week. I am peckish too, kettle is boiling. I do have 15 syns left to play with...

CantSleepWontSleep · 27/10/2011 21:35

I tend to save my healthy extra for the evening and have 2 weetabix. Yum :).

B: bacon, eggs, beans, mushrooms. (was meant to have fruit but went out before I got round to it)
L: mince and cous cous salad (from EE meals in minutes - is v yum), soft citrus
D: spag bol and salad and mango
Snack: weetabix with Kira milk.

Chipskilartar · 27/10/2011 21:37

Me too, but think tea did the trick. I've not really used many syns over the last couple of days, could you save them for a couple of large glasses of wine at the weekend or is it best not to do that?

kid · 27/10/2011 21:41

i didn't have any dinner last night. I didn't fancy what I was cooking for DH and DS so I just went without. It was only when I went to bed at 1:20am that I realised why I was so hungry. I really enjoyed my weetabix this morning!

The rest of my day went downhill foodwise. I did weigh myself and I haven't actually gained anything since my last WI so I should be careful I don't ruin that. It is start week this week so no doubt that will sod WI up a bit.

I pumped my car tyre up, I couldn't hear any air coming out so maybe its not a puncture? If it has gone down by the morning, I'll pop along to the local tyre shop to see what they can do.

I really need to get back to SW, I've been having too many treats for too long. I think I spoilt myself by eating junk when I wasn't well. It makes it harder to get back into it.
