Morning Dod'ers!

Here's a nice new shiney list for when the old one is full.

Pull up a squishy chair and feel free to help yourselves to the Sw friendly snacks. Posters from the old room will be moved in shortly Wink.

Hi all!
Things busy busy here. Anyway had a crap weekend foodwise but back on plan for the last 2 days.

Went back to zumba on Sunday and will go again tomorrow Grin. Hoping that will help counteract the wine, pizza and Indian takeaway over the weekend.

Today's food:
B: weetabix
L: omelette
D: turkey mince chilli

Just having a glass of wine, house hunting is shit stressing me out.
Will read through what I missed later!

grimRiaper · 24/10/2011 22:34

hi all. Envy of breaks by the sea.

typed a long post this morning and the internet crashed, then when I had a spare 5 mins to log on again the laptop seems to have died. Slumming it on my Dad's laptop now (as they are on holiday!)

so much for my early night last night. I couldn't settle and decided the bookcase and cupboard outside my room were annoying me, so I got up and dusted, rearranged and tidied them and cleaned the bathroom. Then I spent a hour or so unknotting DS1s Newtons Cradle.

Have cleaned out the bathroom cupboards, finally dyed some of my lovely white baby towels orange, chucked out some crap... been to the tip with DH and nipped into morrisons (bought cadburys mini treat bag as half price. why did I do that?), came home and he went out so I had a manky pasta'n'sauce in lieu of lunch (which I forgot with all this manic cleaning), and it was so grim I had 3 chocolate digestivesBlush. I immediately took the boys on a bike ride as penance. I even had a go on DS1s bike! and I did not pick at their garlic bread at teatimeShock

have made a start on the kitchen cupboards now. Expect I will run out of enthusiasm soon and go back to shoving mess into cupboards and ignoring as much as possible.

heading home to bed in a minute, with my fingers in my ears so I can't hear the chocolate caling to meWink - am feeling very despondent about H's poorliness and lack of job, and the subsequent lack of moneySad best keep away from the chocolate...

hope all the househunting/laptop buying is going to plan.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 25/10/2011 07:39

Morning ladies (and lurking men).

Had wine last night but kept just within syns, phew!

slinky glad you had a lovely weekend. What news on the house?

kid very jealous of new laptop, lucky thing. I'm considering getting an iPad for Xmas as a joint pressie for DH and I, prob still be too expensive.

Right, anyway. Food:
B: weetabix
L: omelette again prob
D: sweet chilli chicken and roasted veggies.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 25/10/2011 07:40

Oh and very impressed with all the cleaning ria.would you like to come here? Grin

Slinkenstein · 25/10/2011 08:32

Morning DoDers.

Still negotiating on house! Dp is very careful with money, and I'm very stubborn: a winning combination when negotiating on a house I feel [hwink]. Fingers crossed we agree on a figure and get it all wrapped up today.

cheese Well done on zumba, was that the first time you'd been since being poorly?

ria Sounds like youhad a very productive day yesterday, you deserved a few biccies.

kid how did the eye tests go? Funny how kids used to get picked on for wearing glasses and braces, but now they're 'cool'!

bee Aw, bless your dd asking about xmas already, I expect two months is like infinity for a two year-old!

Have a good day.

Slinkenstein · 25/10/2011 08:41

p.s food today:

B: Weetabix
L: Either cheese triangles on toast or 1/2 carton of New Covent Garden Soupernatural soup. Don't know its syn value, but my 5yr old SW book says the minestrone one is free on green?
D: Jacket potato with left-over chilli

Oh, and ds started saying "Mamama" yesterday! [hgrin]. Hasn't started saying Dada yet, so am v.chuffed.

WotsThatLurkingintheHEDGE · 25/10/2011 09:08

Cool talking slinky

Ria I am in awe of your tidying, I'm sure you burnt a zillion calories doing it.

I have got have a huge clear out as we will have to demolish our utility room and garage to build the extension. They will be re built in the end but we have to store anything we want to keep and they are packed full of junk.

We had a take away last night, interestingly I couldn't eat too much of it as I was full and then both DH and I woke at 4 with indigestion and couldn't get back to sleep.

Last day if hols, food will be
b fruit and Yog
l cheese triangles and ryvita
d something from the freezer?

kid · 25/10/2011 09:10

It's so cute when they start talking, glad your dS said mama first, he knows who's more important Grin
Eye tests went well, neither dc need glasses. I wear glasses, so does ch, plus both of our parents so its probably just a matter if tumr!
My eye test revealed that my eyes have a few.scratches.on them from my contact lenses. The optician said they will heal within a couple of days so I'm going to wear my glasses for a couple of days.

Good luck with the house negotiating, really hope it all works out for you. Moving is so stressful and that's without the added stress of finding the perfect house and getting it for the price you want.

My laptop is on its way and will be with me by the end if the day. Looks like I won't be going out today then.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 25/10/2011 09:32

It is indeed slinky. I was supposed to go this morning but getting up to the gym for 9.30 was proving too challenging. GOod luck with house - my firend told her DH that he wasn't getting any sex until they moved to a bigger house - they now live in a lush house! Might be worth a try!

What is it with cheese triangles? Are they nice?

grinningzombee · 25/10/2011 10:45

Morning all!

Ria I will pay for your transport down here, and throw in a nice SW dinner if you fancy sorting my place out Grin

Slinky awwww, first word already. That's so cute he said mama too Smile

Are there men lurking in here? Ooooh, I do hope not.

Cheese triangles. Well, the reason I have them so much is because they're easy and quick when I'm trying to get lunch down the dc as well.

I am feeling quite pleased today. It was my Dod, and I think I may have just gone out of the obese category. Hurrah!

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Beans on toast, fruit and a yogurt
Shepherd's Lentil Pie

OP posts:
Slinkenstein · 25/10/2011 13:15

I like cheese triangles because they're quick and easy too. Had the soup today and it was deeeelicious.

Congrats on the happy DoD bee! I'm dreading tomorrow, hoping for a STS.

EA's called to say they can't get hold of vendors regarding consideration of our recent offer. In the meantime, someone's called to make and appt to view [hhmm]. We really want it, so hope we don't lose for the sake of a few (!) quid. Not sure if it's just the agents bs'ing to get us to up our offer or if it's geniune. The saga continues.

A bit down in the dumps today; I've a feeling our friend passed away in the night Sad. She threw a big party for everyone on Sunday night, but we couldn't get there til 7.35pm and we missed her by a few mins; she'd gone back to the hospice as it was all too much for her. I text yesterday, but haven't had a reply, and dp says he had a text from her husband to say she was drifting in and out of consciousness last night. Just glad I saw her last week, just feels like it's happened so suddenly.

Slinkenstein · 25/10/2011 13:22

Oh yeah cheese thanks for the tip! Will bear it in mind [hwink]. Is that what you're going to do too?!

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/10/2011 13:32

slink - the soupernatural soup isn't listed on the website, but the covent garden soups range from 11 syns for a 600g carton (minestrone) to 28 syns (chicken). Blimey! Loads of people in my class were banging on about those electric soup makers the other week. Apparently they are great (if you like soup, which I don't particularly, without great hunks of bread at least!).

Very sorry about your friend. At least it sounds like her passing has been quick rather than prolonged and painful. :small comforts:

B: kedgeree, mango, melon
L: stir fried veg and prawns with noodles.
D: lamb steaks and something

(was feeling the need to balance out all these weetabix and cheese triangles with something more hearty Wink).

grimRiaper · 25/10/2011 14:03

Sad slinky

here briefly. DH has cranked up the temperamental desktop PC which lurks in a huge cupboard in the corner. I am going to have to move the takeaway menu which is pinned inside the cupboard doorHmm

more kitchen cupboards today. DH is baking with the boys so I'll do the ones that are empty! Then the "drinks" cabinet (ha! it is full of old birthday cards and fancy cellophane wrapping paper, but it seems wrong to store the half-bottle of pimms with the breakfast cerealWink)

really looking forward to DoD in the morning, then I can have a little treat.

Food today-
B: hobbit toast
L: moroccan rice, roast veg and chicken (HEB)
T: quorn burgers, SW chips and either beans or homemade coleslaw.

kid · 25/10/2011 15:54

Sorry to hear about your friend slink
If she has passed away, at least it was quick and she is no longer suffering.

We went to the new westfield in stratford today, it was very busy but we still managed to buy dh an iPad2. He got his bonus today and i convinced him that he should treat himself. Come to think of it, he didn't need much convincing lol

When we got home, we saw my car has a puncture. If its just gone down I don't mind but I've got a feeling someone has damaged the tyre because I parked in 'their' space. Well unfortunately, I can't drive it with a flat tyre so it can stay there all week now in 'their' space! lol.

grinningzombee · 25/10/2011 19:47

Sorry about your friend Slinky Sad

Kid some people are real gits over parking spaces, or just damaging cars in general. We've had masses of trouble in the past. Makes you very Angry.

Ria I am sensing that you've had a good week Wink

OP posts:
grimRiaper · 25/10/2011 20:11

I hope so bee. I have resisted all but one tiny bite of fish finger tonight and haven't sampled the apple pie or strudel that DH made with the boys. I am trying hard to be extra good as we might be having a "bit of a weekend", both this weekend and next.

Chipskilartar · 25/10/2011 20:12

Hellooo! I'm hoping you lovely ladies can help me out. I've just joined SW online as can't get to a class regularly, but am a bit Confused

Firstly, I'm finding the website quite confusing and not user friendly. It's given me an option for extra easy, but I can't find the info for healthy A and B choices listed easily to refer to or the red and green days, so not entirely sure what I should be dong tomorrow. I'm going to have poached eggs and beans for breakfast, pasta salad with fat free vinegrette for lunch and probably Spag Bol for tea. Does that sound ok and can I have fruit or anything if I need a snack?

Also, I can't seem to login on my phone, even tho I'm entering things correctly. I've been through the FAQ's and checked everything but have ended up emailing them as nothing worked, but they say expect a reply in 7 days! I wanted to managed most things from my phone as I'm out and about a lot and find this more convenient.

Sorry for long post, just a bit frustrated after paying my money and a bit bamboozled.

kid · 25/10/2011 20:12

Bless my DS. I wear a fitted top to the gym but put a semi fitted t-shirt over it. When I got home from gym tonight, I took the t-shirt off and dS said 'mummy is getting skinny' he then added 'er' to the end of it to make it skinnier which was still sweet of him Grin

Dh on the other hand was just celebrating as he thought he'd just found my first grey hair. Turned out to be one of the dogs hairs as I'd just been cuddling him LOL

Slinkenstein · 25/10/2011 21:10

Aw kid, bless your ds, that must've been fab to hear!

Thanks for looking that soup up CSWS - I'm sure I saw in a book that the minestrone was free probably dreamt it. That is quite a lot of syns, but I didn't have any bread with it so am going to do what pushka does and just make it up as I go along! Which is pretty much what I've been doing for 17 weeks or so now, and have lost quite a bit of weight, so must be doing something right!

Welcome along to chips! The ladies here are very friendly and knowledgeable, I haven't done SW properly for five years or so, am just basing my diet on it and weighing in every Wednesday on here. I do know that all fresh fruit and veg in its whole state (no pureeing/juicing/smoothying/fat added etc) is completely free, so eat as much as you want! Have never done EE, only red/green days, so not much help there, but your menu for tomorrow sounds fine I think. Do you get sent any literature when you sign-up online? I always used to carry my book around with me when I started, so I could refer to it often (er, guess that's why you're trying to sort out your mobile eh?!). Good luck!

Slinkenstein · 25/10/2011 21:13

P.S kid - am [henvy] of the iPad2! We have a BlackBerry Playbook (which is actually dp's work's but we have it at home) but have heard the new iPads are better - enjoy if dh let's you get a look in.

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/10/2011 21:20

Welcome chips :). I def saw the healthy extras listed on the site (had to look up the full list for A as I can't have dairy) - will have a look in a mo and see if I can find where for you.
What kind of day are you having tomorrow? If extra easy (EE) then you need to add some superfree food (eg tomatoes, mushrooms) to your breakfast, as 1/3 of every meal must be made up of superfree foods (these are most fresh or frozen fruits, and most veg (not potatoes, parsnips, peas, sweetcorn from memory). If it's a green day then breakfast is fine. Lunch sounds fine for green, but again make sure the salad is at least 1/3 superfree for EE. Dinner sounds good for green if made with quorn mince, or ok for EE as long as made with extra lean mince and lots of veg included in sauce (I use courgettes, carrots, tomatoes, passata (not tom puree as that is syns), onions, garlic in mine) and served with a side salad.
Does that help or get you more confused?!

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/10/2011 21:24

To find HEs on website go to 'my weight loss tools', then from orange menu just under the red one select 'latest healthy extras'. :)

Chipskilartar · 25/10/2011 21:38

Thank you both very much for replying. I lurk quite often in MN but never usually have the courage to post Blush

I'm going to start off with the extra easy until I get my head around things properly. I've managed to email myself the free and healthy extra lists from the website, picked them up from my phone then saved them, so that I have a bit of info if I need it tomorrow. Still can't get into log a food diary from my phone, so will just write it down for now.

Good advice about the mushrooms for breakfast, I was going to have some fruit too (if I can fit it in-seems like loads of food!), and I have loads of salad with the pasta too.

That's me sorted out for the first day then - yikes! I'll report back how it goes, if you don't mind me butting in.

CantSleepWontSleep · 25/10/2011 22:05

Ah, you mostly just need courage to post in AIBU - the other sections are generally more welcoming :). You're not butting in at all. Or if you are then so did I 3 weeks ago, but I'm too thick skinned to care Wink. Good luck for your first day!
