Morning all, welcome Lilly. Sorry I haven't been around for a few days, DS2 got sent home sick on Friday so he's been v. clingy but ok now. I had to cancel going to a birthday dinner so it it did me a favour on the food front.

Hope you are feeling better cheese. If anyone is interested (and can remember back that far) my first record was Life On Mars by Bowie. bee I am fb friends with Adam Ant, but under his real name, we have mutual RL friends.

Food:
Hobbit toast with banana and honey
Fruit and ML, possibly some superlowfat noodles
Skinless chicken breasts with sweet chilli sauce, veg

ledkr · 12/09/2011 12:13

Can you tell me what hobbit toast is please?

whatkungfuthat · 12/09/2011 12:22

The small slices, normal brown bread but in the smaller packages.

kid · 12/09/2011 16:32

Lilly, the med lamb tray bake is out of an old sw magazine.
I'll put the recipe on the other thread, there are loads of recipes on there if you fancy reading through it for some ideas.
I can also highly recommend the lemon and coriander rice.

I was so organised last night. By 9pm, both dc were in bed, packed lunches had been made, uniforms ironed and washing hung up. That meant I could relax for a few hours in front of the tv.

I am so tempted to 'check' my weight but have resisted. I am going to be gutted if I've not had a decent loss come Wednesday. Fingers crossed I'll be happy.

On my rush home from work tonight, I noticed I don't feel as wobbly Grin

I was meant to be going gym tonight but as it's a new class and my gym buddy cancelled, I decided to try the new class next week when she us able to come with me. I don't feel bad though as I went yesterday (on my own as she couldn't make it), I'm also there tomorrow and more than likely on Thursday too. So not going tonight us no big deal.

Right, let me write this lamb recipe out on other thread.

grinningbee · 12/09/2011 16:40

Hi all,

It's jacket spud and beans tonight. I seriously cannot be arsed to cook properly after last nights fiasco, and then dealing with two sicky dc today. They are both conked out at the mo. Let's hope tonight is quieter...

It's my weigh in tomorrow, and I NEED to have lost 1.5lb. I want my virtual 3 stone sticker Grin

OP posts:
ledkr · 12/09/2011 16:41

kid i love nights like that, funny enough i find it easier when im on my own rather than dh bumbling about "helping"
Im just about to do a spag bol but im so used to just opening a jar i find cooking it from scratch such a hassle,te baby was asleep but the mince was frozen and by by the time it was defrosted she woke up.

Going shopping tomorrow so need to have a look through the books tonight.

mrswoodentop · 12/09/2011 17:29

Sofabitch · 12/09/2011 17:33

Hey everyone. Weigh in 2 hours away. Was halfway through slimming world chips when my oven has stopped working ! Angry grrr so I'm grilling the kids chips and it doesn't look as though I'll get to eat before weigh in at the rate. Which I wanted to avoid. I never did make asda Sad or a menu plan. But on the plus side repair man is coming tomorrow morning. So I shouldn't be without an oven for long.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 12/09/2011 18:01

Still got a temp, still vomiting. I bettert have a good weigh in!
Can someone else do the list on weds please? Thanks

WhatsWrongWithYou · 12/09/2011 22:00

Wow 6lbs already - that's brilliant!
Don't like the sound of all these lurgies going round - anyone struggling through it has my sympathy. Hope all get better soon.

Hedgepig · 12/09/2011 22:06

well done sofa a splendid start Grin

Just made a SW curry using left over chicken and noticed there is an onion bahji recipe in the SW curry book, has anyone tried making them? I love them so maybe I will give them a try.

grinningbee · 12/09/2011 22:15

Huge congrats Sofa bet you feel really happy Grin

Welcome to Mrswoodentop Smile

You can pm me anytime for Wednesdays DoD. For anyone not sure, have a look at last Wednesday. You can pm as much or as little as you like. I'll do the list late in the evening (but not so late you've all gone to bed!).

About to hit the hay I think as very little sleep had last night. Dh is already snoring on the sofa - has been for over an hour Angry. Fingers crossed for a quieter night so I can think fat busting thoughts for the morning!

LittlePushka · 12/09/2011 22:20

Welcome mrs Woodentop - chuck us a few cherry toms would you flower? I read your post as you being on crutches because of hip hop. I thought lordy, thats some serious dancer there!!!!

Cheese & bee&kid - I hope the sickness bugs go soon. I hope it wasnt transmitted through the keyboard or I shall have to wear my rubber gloves (now, that would be a first mind you)

kid - well done on the wobble factor!!!! Feeling good eh?? I noticed that my trousers are not too short any more as there is less rump to hike them up now.

Sofa - MAGNIFICENT effort my lovely!!! Laughing at your grilled chips though. I once grilled a pizza by mistake as I did not know how to use my new oven. It tasted rank and was really wet and floppy. Yuk.

Kung fu, was it you withLife on Mars? - you must be about 102 years old by my reckoning Wink and dont you snigger whats wrong, you aint far behinf with little Jimmy!!!

For the first (and I expect only) time, DS1 cheered,...yes cheered....Grin when I said "It's Monday - school day!" . Mentally I am fast forwarding ten years when I repeat that same, cheery line at 6.50am and it will be 50:50 as to whether I get

(a) a grunt accompanied by an alarmingly ferocious breaking of wind or

(b) a size 11 Reebok slung at my gob -

Gotta love 'em!

kid · 12/09/2011 22:52

Who sent this sore throat over the Internet? Sad it really, really , really hurts (I'm the worlds biggest baby!)

I'm really trying to stick with sw and so far I have. But I haven't planned my meals a great deal in advance. I'm doing one day in advance at a time for the moment which is risky as I might not have all of the ingredients.

Tomorrow is the horrible busy day that I dread. My afternoon will be: finish work at 3, meet dd at home by 3:30, collect ds at 4:30, straight to dd's swimming lesson for 5, finish lesson at 5:30, home to cook dinner, leave at 6:00 to go gym, home at 7 to eat dinner!
I think Tuesday's are my worst day ever. At least dh is home tomorrow so he can have dc while I go gym.

Lunches are made and uniforms are ready so at least I won't be rushing in the morning Grin

mrswoodentop · 12/09/2011 22:58

The hip hop sounds more fun!!

I definitely need to plan better ,how many days in advance do you successful ladies plan and do you all eat as a family?

WhatsWrongWithYou · 12/09/2011 23:12

I try and plan for a week, although this broke down during the summer hols.
I tend to skim through the recipes, make a list at Tesco or Waitrose online, then add in a few extras to cover basics/lunches etc.
I do feed the whole family, gave up cooking separate meals for DCs years ago/
For the past couple of weeks I've ordered late on a Saturday night, and Tescos deliver it the next morning, which I think is amazing!

LittlePushka · 12/09/2011 23:34

mrs woodentop I ought to plan better but tend to lurch blindly from one meal to the next but I am using a few books which give me great ideas. ( I am same height as you, same start weight as you and i have lost 8lb in six weeks including a week of serious holiday eating )

Whatswrong,...nah, thats not amazing. Amazing is when the delivery man puts it away in your fridge then cooks dinner for four and gives you £15 off for being a teensy bit late Wink

Cheeseandbiscuits · 13/09/2011 05:28

Been admitted to hospital with sepsis due to pneumonia. Won't be around for a while, good luck on weds

Sofabitch · 13/09/2011 08:11

Oh no cheese Sad I hope you get over this soon. Good luck today guys.

mrswoodentop · 13/09/2011 08:15

Oh cheese how awful ,hope they get you sorted out and you feel better soon

grinningbee · 13/09/2011 08:20

Oh Cheese! I do hope you are better very soon Sad

Dd is very unhappy today. Ate nothing yesterday than a couple of teaspoons of weetabix and a quarter of a slice of hobbit toast. I really hope she'll eat today and keep it down. Ds seems happy enough, but we'll see when I give him breakfast...

Food for the day:

Weetabix and a banana
Cheese triangles on toast, clementines and a yogurt
Roast beef and veg (dh will be having stuffing, roast pots and yorkies too)

Off to weigh myself in a minute or two.

OP posts:
SlinkyB · 13/09/2011 09:08

Oh my goodness cheese! That sounds awful Sad Hope you get better quickly, and that dh has a good bedside manner

bee hope dd gets well soon too, and anyone else with any bugs - not good.

Huge well done to sofa - 6lbs is an amazing start. Welcome to mrswooden and any other newbies - the list is gonna be loooong this Weds, tee hee!

Nothing to report here, all quiet. Anyone else still Shredding? I tried again yesterday but turned it off five minutes in as was bored! Time to try something new me thinks.

Oh, first record was Kylie's Tears on my Pillow ! Blush
