Hi all, just wondering whether anyone else was doing Exante Total Solution at the moment so that we could maybe keep each other company?

My story is that I've been on the programme since 1st August - so far lost 16lbs which makes me feel great Grin, am about a quarter of the way along Blush as I have 4 stone to lose to get to where I feel comfortable with myself, at about 1/2 a stone lighter than when i met my DH!!!

I was 16 stone 1lb on 1st August, which at 5' 9" with a sadly sturdy frame made me a rather well padded size 18 - now I am at 14 stone 13lb and my size 18 jeans are much more comfortable, size 16 skirt and tops fit me again and i feel just that bit better. I have rewarded myself today with a little splurge on new makeup and I think i'll try to maintain that approach, reward myself with something lovely when i cross each stone off. Spotted some lovely scent today so that might do for 14 to 13. 13 to 12 will be excellent (new wardrobe time i think!) and if i can get down to 11 something I will be turning cartwheels if I don't faint on the spot.

I've found it actually really easy to stick to so far, I quite like the soups and shakes and the bars aren't bad - i've had a couple of lunches out (healthy choices!) and one lovely dinner and even then I seem to have managed to lose over the wee. Hopefully it'll continue to work that way, I like the idea that I can have a couple of bonus nights off over the month, it makes it feel a bit less restrictive. I've definitely found that my appetite is smaller though and I felt full after much less food than I've been used to, and as I'm a comfort and boredom eater having a proper break from food is really good for me mentally too.

I'm planning a food week break next week and then straight back on the Total solution after that. DH might do it with me next month, think he'd like to lose a stone too - which will make it even easier to stick to if he's not cooking tasty meals while I tuck into a soup.....

Anyway, it'd be great to hear from anyone else doing Exante at the moment or any of you ladies who has done it in the past and got a success story to tell

Hi all, just thought i would introduce myself. not started exante yet, just heard of it today so am going to order and give it a go. Did want to do lighter life but couldn't afford the total programme of £75 pw and they wouldn't let me do the lite one so their loss! Have 4 stone to lose...1 stone for each child I had...have a wardrobe full of maxi dresses that don't fit and want to be skinny instead of fat this summer...fingers crossed!

sexybysummer · 26/02/2012 13:23

Hi, I ordered the pack from exante Friday night, so hopefully it will be here by Tuesday. My friend is doing it and lost 20lb in 4 weeks. So thought I'd give it a go as I can't stick to any other diet, tried them all, lol. I have 2-3 stone to lose :)))

caykon · 27/02/2012 11:37

Week 2 over with and lost 5.5lbs.

13.5lbs in 2 weeks, really struggling today, still trying to shift this cold and just want to eat!

Skinnyscouser · 27/02/2012 12:23

Ordered pack...should arrive today so start tomorrow...lots of people trying to talk me out of it saying all the weight will go back on! Is anyone out there who has maintained the weightloss?

Morgan · 27/02/2012 19:25

Have started today - not a perfect day as had to go out at lunch time. - but had soup at a friend's house - so had a bar mid pm and mushroom soup for tea. Pleasantly surprised how nice the soup was.
Caykon - well done - great weight loss - hope I can do as well ! Keep it up.

Skinnyscouser · 27/02/2012 22:53

Hi caykon...full of stinking cold myself so sympathise....still haven't started exante yet coz pack not arrived...do I only eat 3 things a day? ..a soup a shake and a bar? Worried I am going to starve...how long did it take you to reach ketosis?

caykon · 28/02/2012 09:54

Yes just 3 a day. I have 3 shakes as I don't like the look of the soups. It usually takes a couple of days to reach Ketosis, but its not too bad as long as you drink plenty of water. and once you get into it and the weight starts to come off, I find that keeps me going.

Skinnyscouser · 28/02/2012 23:56

Packs arrived today so shall begin tomorrow...have a friends birthday Saturday, a christening Sunday and my birthday next week!...hope I can get through them without breaking diet...shall avoid food and pretend water is wine! Wish me luck

Ilovefluffysheep · 29/02/2012 18:02

Well done caykon. Still on it here, can't believe its been nearly 9 weeks!!

Skinnyscouser · 29/02/2012 18:20

Day 1...choc shake for brekkie with a bit of coffee added...bars really nice...but the soups ..uugghhh! I have thrown mushroom, tomato and veg down sink...I just can't bring myself to take more than a few teaspoonfuls...if this is day 1 it's going to be hard...shame I can't have 3 bars a day...I could do that...any suggestions...am desperate and hungry.

Laputa · 01/03/2012 09:43

Hi...just started exante...on day 2... I also can't stomach the soups...i have 4 stone to lose...3 by end of may I hope...is it poss to do 1 shake and 2 bars a day does anyone know?

Laputa · 01/03/2012 11:19

Hi Ilovefluffysheep...have been reading through blog and noticed you are having a real meal each day...is that right....wondering if you could give some tips on what I can eat and still stay in ketosis. I am veggie also. Thanks

Ilovefluffysheep · 02/03/2012 11:35

3lbs off again for me this week, so thats 29.5lbs gone in 9 weeks. Hooray!!

Laputa - its not a meal as such, but just something low carb/high protein that equals around 200 calories. Mostly I've been having 2 eggs scrambled with a spoonful of cottage cheese (love cottage chesse!), 2 linda mccartney veggie sausages, sometimes I've even been known to have a big hunk of cheese (cheese is my thing unfortunately!). I'm also quite partial to a tub of the tesco light choices cottage cheese with sweet chilli or pesto, thats around 1120 calories, then either an egg or a a smaller slice of cheese to go with it. So as you can see, not proper meals as such, but real food substitutes for 1 pack a day (and in fact sometimes I replace 2 packs a day with any of the above).

It seems to be working for me, but obviously it is a deviation from the exante diet, so if you do it its obviously at your own risk so to speak. I really do think that being able to eact "real" food as above has stopped me from giving in totally, which I always have before. I have cheated a few times and had a binge, but even then, its been on stuff above (mainly cheese to be honest) that I know has such low carbs in its not going to knock me out of ketosis, meaning it has no adverse effect of having the hunger pangs the following day.

As for 2 bars a day - no, you're only supposed to have 1. Something to do with the bars having higher carbs than the other packs, and the possibility of knocking you out of ketosis if you have more than 1.

Hello there! Just ordered my (huge) pack of exante and it's probably going to be here on Monday. Tried Dukan before, but didn't lose much, so here goes - the extreme solution :) Really need to lose about 1.5 stone to get to pre-pregnancy weight, although that is still technically a bit overweight (am quite a sturdy, muscly build, so can't maintain a lower weight). Hoping it will take me around 2 months on the simple solution. Can't do total solution, as need to be eating some "real" food in front of picky 2-year old DS. So, will have lunch with him and otherwise exante soups, bars and porridge (might make myself the odd protein shake as well).

maytheoddsbeeverinyourfavour · 04/03/2012 22:01

Just thought is pop in and say hello and well done to everyone Smile

I've been doing exante since the start of the year, today is the end of week 9, I weigh in again tomorrow and its looking like it'll be another 3lbs to go with the two stone I've lost so far Grin

Keep going everyone it gets easier and it is sooooo worth it!

Laputa · 05/03/2012 00:52

Ilovefluffysheep, thanks for your reply...unfortunately by end of day 2 I had only eaten half a bar as cannot face shakes or any soups..figure starving myself was not the answer so am going for the DIY calorie counting on my fitness pal...gutted I couldn't cope with exante but I am in the right mind set to lose this weight so wish me luck!

WelshMoth · 05/03/2012 06:13

Help!
I've just weighed after a full week of total solution, and I've only lost 2 and three-quarter lbs. To say I'm gutted is an understatement. SadSadSad

I drink tons of water and I have the occasional black coffee.

What am I doing wrong? I've also emailed exante - I feel that gutted.

Feeling v low and de-motivated.

Ilovefluffysheep · 05/03/2012 16:15

Welshmoth - was it time of the month or anything? I can understand you being disappointed, I would be as well, but it could be you're in for a mammoth loss this week.

Laputa - I can't stand the shakes as they are. Have you tried them hot - they are totally different and taste a bit like custard. I only like the choc and vanilla flavours, I use 75-100 ml of boiling water, dissolve 1 sweetner into it then pour onto milkshake powder. Mix up, and microwave for 20 seconds. Result is lovely hot custard which is lovely.

Give it a try, honestly! I thought I'd made a huge mistake ordering the exante when I was nearly sick trying to drink my 1st shake, but I read this tip and it was the best thing I read and kept me at the diet.

As for the soup, I'm not having them at the moment, only like the mushroom and veg ones. When I was I added extra water, and also herbs like pepper, garlic, crushed chiilies etc. Made it more palatable!

WelshMoth · 06/03/2012 07:10

Ilovefluffysheep thanks for your post. I'm just still so low about it. That said, I know I'm due in the next week or so - perhaps I've never really thought just how much water I retain in that time Blush.

God knows I'm having the ketosis breath, it's awful, so I must be on the right track. I've been completely rigid with this, and I'll keep plodding on, if only because £100 worth of sachets really stretched the account for us this month.

Ha! I can relate to that, definitely Blush. Friday night was a killer - there's no hunger but the Friday night takeaway and bottle of wine is a habit that's hard to break Sad.

Not sure about the bad breath. Hopefully not too long...

WelshMoth · 07/03/2012 12:09

Do you think it would effect the total solution diet if I were to drink coke zero? Water, as much as I like it, is starting to turn on me in this quantity. It would be nice to try something else.
