Hi all, just wondering whether anyone else was doing Exante Total Solution at the moment so that we could maybe keep each other company?

My story is that I've been on the programme since 1st August - so far lost 16lbs which makes me feel great Grin, am about a quarter of the way along Blush as I have 4 stone to lose to get to where I feel comfortable with myself, at about 1/2 a stone lighter than when i met my DH!!!

I was 16 stone 1lb on 1st August, which at 5' 9" with a sadly sturdy frame made me a rather well padded size 18 - now I am at 14 stone 13lb and my size 18 jeans are much more comfortable, size 16 skirt and tops fit me again and i feel just that bit better. I have rewarded myself today with a little splurge on new makeup and I think i'll try to maintain that approach, reward myself with something lovely when i cross each stone off. Spotted some lovely scent today so that might do for 14 to 13. 13 to 12 will be excellent (new wardrobe time i think!) and if i can get down to 11 something I will be turning cartwheels if I don't faint on the spot.

I've found it actually really easy to stick to so far, I quite like the soups and shakes and the bars aren't bad - i've had a couple of lunches out (healthy choices!) and one lovely dinner and even then I seem to have managed to lose over the wee. Hopefully it'll continue to work that way, I like the idea that I can have a couple of bonus nights off over the month, it makes it feel a bit less restrictive. I've definitely found that my appetite is smaller though and I felt full after much less food than I've been used to, and as I'm a comfort and boredom eater having a proper break from food is really good for me mentally too.

I'm planning a food week break next week and then straight back on the Total solution after that. DH might do it with me next month, think he'd like to lose a stone too - which will make it even easier to stick to if he's not cooking tasty meals while I tuck into a soup.....

Anyway, it'd be great to hear from anyone else doing Exante at the moment or any of you ladies who has done it in the past and got a success story to tell

Thanks lizard. I was pleased, as fitted in a suit today for work that I haven't managed to fit in before (bought when my weight was on the way up in the hope I'd fit in it at some point!). Was a great feeling.

FrenchLimeBlossom · 29/01/2012 20:05

hi lizard nice to see you. Not posted as DS has been having a terrible time over the past few days with his teeth, poor little mite, and been knackered when not taking care of him.

Well done fluffy, great to hear about your loss - good work. And it is so nice to get some use out of clothes you've got hanging around, so that's pleasing.

I went shopping yesterday - new jeans (back in the Gap long and leans at last!), a couple of new tops and a sweater, all in medium as large was, well, too large! Feels pretty good, I know it's only a few bits from Gap but i do feel I am getting back to myself again after a few years of not really being me.

Hope everyone else is still feeling good!

Hi Ladies, can I come play??

I have been to the weight management clinic, and after considering the options I am going to start the Exante total solutions tomorrow. Feeling really positive about it - got a lot of weight to loose - so I expect I will be hanging around a while :)

Well done everyone on the great progress you are all making :)

Goal one is to make it though tomorrow - planning on getting some exercise in too, but having a back injury and not been too well I don't expect too much but as long as I achieve something and stick to the diet tomorrow I will be happy :)

FrenchLimeBlossom · 30/01/2012 19:47

welcome squidgy good to see you. Hope today was an ok day for you, i am sure you will be fine sticking with whatever program you choose.

I have to say, for me exante worked well due to the focus away from food, so I'm now used to smaller portions and feel less like indulging as I don't want to ruin all my efforts to get where I am. I'm not at goal but am focussing on TTC DC2 from now on, on the basis that I can lose the rest after DC2 comes along....... fingers crossed. But I am going to keep monitoring the weight to make sure I stay within a few pounds of where I am now.

SquidgyBrain · 31/01/2012 21:55

Thanks FLB - good luck with TTC DC2 :)

I did ok yesterday, I actually didn't really want to finish the 2nd shake I wasn't hungry but did get it down.

Today managed to stick to it too - not managing to get all the water down, getting about 1.5 litres down so got to work on that, but also managing to get 20 minutes exercise so trying desperately hard.

Just want to get this week under my belt, see what results the scales have to offer and hopefully that will give me all the motivation that I need to keep going.

Ilovefluffysheep · 03/02/2012 18:30

Squidgy I struggle to drink all the water too, manage same as you normally, plus my treat of a can of coke zero!

2lbs off again this week. Bit disappointed as thats all I'd lost last week so thought I might have a better week this week, but at least its coming off and not on! 19lbs in 5 weeks.

Wheresmylifegone · 05/02/2012 18:27

Hello everyone. I'm trying to decide whether to spend money on Exante, but I read earlier on the thread that Tesco's Ultraslim is as good & cheaper.. What are your views? Is there a difference?
I did LighterLife several years ago & lost 4st but its all back with me now! I wouldn't do LL again because of the expense & the necessity of having a decent counsellor but I do think VLCD's are ok - I just want to make my £'s go as far as poss...:)

Ilovefluffysheep · 06/02/2012 10:52

Wheresmylifegone - Tesco ultraslim is not designed to be a VLCD on its own. However, the bars do have a very similar nutritional content to exante, so people are subbing the exante bars for the tesco bars. You are only supposed to have 1 bar a day.

FrenchLimeBlossom · 07/02/2012 13:38

Hi all, hope you are getting on ok.

Just posting in an update on my progress - i got to 12st 12lb yesterday! So popped on my new scent as a reward.

I was actually astonished - as I've not been 'dieting' and we were away for the weekend with friends and I just ate what i fancied and drank lots Blush of wine, so got on the scales yesterday with a 'gulp, better face the music' mentality - to find I had not only not gained but lost since last week! Shock

And MIL actually complimented me on my loss too, said I looked well so that was all good.

SquidgyBrain · 07/02/2012 14:27

Ilovefluffysheep - well done 19lbs in 5 weeks is great :) well done :)

Wheresmylifegone - I have no idea :S

FrenchLimeBlosssom, well done you :) What a good idea for a reward :) Trying to get rewards away from anything edible isn't as easy as it seems, or for me it isn't, we do seem to be programmed as children that some eating is a reward. I read a book (trashy novel can't remember the title) where the central character was trying to loose weight and her reward system was to get a charm bracelet and every 1/2 a stone she lost she bought a new charm for it. This is what I am doing, it is good for me as it is a visual reminder of how far I have come already.

I had my first "weigh in" yesterday and I have lost 9lbs last week so needless to say happy with that. I also came down 2.2 on my BMI so all good :)

Ilovefluffysheep · 08/02/2012 18:49

Well done FrenchLimeBlossom and Squidgy.

Had a binge out last night, ended up eating half a block of cheese. Yikes. Was soooo nice though! Wish I could stop liking cheese, I literally love it and could eat it all day.

Morgan · 08/02/2012 19:15

Hi ladies well done to all those losing . I have received my order and am starting after half term as we are skiing next week . I weigh 15st 9 size 18-20 so have 4-5 stone to lose - going to go total except for known dinners out . I exercise quite a lot ( bootcamp class x3 per week and tennis other two days of week ) does anyone have experience of energy levels on the diet ?

Ilovefluffysheep · 13/02/2012 18:00

I haven't noticed a change in energy levels at all, although lots of people on other sites seem to say they get full of energy!

2lbs off yet again for me, so its slowly but surely. Thats a stone and a half, so definitely better off than on! I find it easier to stick to properly at home and am off this week, so hopefully I might actually break the 2lb barrier like I did earlier on in the diet!

caykon · 15/02/2012 09:40

Hi can I join you? I am on day 3 of exante, and so far nothing but my 3 shakes water and a couple of mouthfuls of coke zero have passed my lips.
I strangely haven't felt hungry, yesterday had awful headache but just kept drinking, I have a horrid head cold at the moment too, so not sure if it was the diet or cold causing it, but headache gone today.
I have about 6-7 stone to loose, so am planning on trying to focus on this for 100 days ( made myself a chart) and see where I'm unto. I have always liked and done well at slimming world so may go back to that. Just need a boost to begin with.
Hoping to loose about 3 stone on my 100 days!

Divster · 15/02/2012 14:24

I am on day 3 of Exante a well! Dont feel overly hungry, had the banging headache yesterday, and feel a bit tired today, but feel ok. I am on 4 packs a day until I hit ketosis, and I also have 200ml of semi skimmed milk for my cups of teas. If I have to do this for a few months, I cant do it without cups of teas!

caykon · 15/02/2012 16:24

Divster tea is one of the things I miss, never drank loads just one in the morning with dh and one in the evening with him (obviously too lazy to make my own) but a warm drink when i wake up would be nice. I'll see how you go and might try that if it doesn't have a negative effect.
I'm only having 3 packs.
Do you have much to loose?

Divster · 16/02/2012 10:00

I like peppermint tea at night. I have 60lbs to get rid of, 5lbs down so far on day 4.

Milk, semi or skimmed is ok, as its quite low carb, and on Cambridge diet they have a plan that includes milk on the next steps up.

It keeps me on it, and I am K+ on the sticks today.

Most people can have upto 120g of carbs a day and stay in ketosis

caykon · 16/02/2012 14:15

Thats useful to know, might just be the extra that keeps me going.

I have avoided stepping on the scales yet, or getting any sticks to check I'm in Ketosis. I always seem to get obsessed by things and trying to make this a change. Something I just have to get on and do for my health, and closer to target going a slimming club that promotes healthy evening to help keep the change permanent.

Struggling a little today, not due to hunger, but got 2 poorly dc's and looking after them, think I just want to eat for comfort. Think I'll have a cup of tea, something normal may take the edge off.

Divster · 16/02/2012 16:12

Today has been a real struggle for me too, very close to eating.....something....anything!

caykon · 17/02/2012 15:47

Well got through yesterday staying 100%. I am allowing myself my morning cuppa as well now, but do try and make myself have my first pint of water first.

Today went out with my mum and dc's and sat and watched them all eat mcdonalds. I had a bottle of water :-)

Overall feeling much better and sleeping better than I have in a long time. Just feel pregnant again with all the trips to the loo, but if the water helps I'll keep drinking.

Ilovefluffysheep · 18/02/2012 15:29

Argh, just lost my post! Not going to type it all again, so 2.5lbs off this week making 23.5lbs in 7 weeks.

caykon · 18/02/2012 15:39

Well done fluffy sheep, its great to see people doing well.

Today is day 6 for me and so far so good, I am trying to avoid the scales so am only weighing myself once a week. So looking forward to monday.

I'm finding the water is getting easier to drink, so thats definitely helping. Lets hope I can keep going at this for a few months.

caykon · 20/02/2012 08:33

Well surprised I am still at it, as have caught this horribly virus of dc's. But amazingly I have managed to stay on track 100%.

It was weigh in this morning and in my first week I am down 8lbs.

Divster how are you doing?

Ilovefluffysheep · 20/02/2012 20:47

Well done caykon, thats a great 1st week. Hope you feel better soon.

Ilovefluffysheep · 24/02/2012 20:33

3lbs off this week (hooray, finally a shift from the usual 2lbs!). Yet again, it was more earlier in the week, in fact I thought I would reach the 2 stone off mark, but somehow a couple of lbs went back on, so am 1.5lbs away from 2 stone. Hopefully next week!
