New thread for us WW devotees.

Blondes is head honcho but is busy showing off her tan.

Me - I am the resident statistician - weekly updates for thread losses.

So jump on in and post away - we are having a summer challenge to keep us on track.

Mmm, do you have the stew on it's own? I should use my slow cooker more often. Seem to eat stir frys 5 times a week.

Littlefish · 11/09/2011 20:58

Depending on how many points I use up on random snacks in the day, I'll either do loads of cabbage, or, if I've got enough points, make some mashed potato.

androbbob · 11/09/2011 21:08

I have been eating stuffed mushrooms - I think it is about 3PP. It is one or two large flat mushrooms, cook some brocolli and mash up with a spoonful of philly with herbs and garlic or chives, and then pop ontop of mushrooms and then stick a small amount of grated cheese on top. The second time I put some chilli flakes in it and it was delicious - either as a lunch or as part of your tea. Good and tasty way to get loads of veg in and scrummy. All the PP are is for the cheese.

benbon - you need to get back in control. Put this past week behind you - it has happened and you are where you are having eaten what you did. That is just life and I guess you have to deal with weeks like this in the future as a goal member. (I am only guessing as I am so not there yet!!). I agree with a quick look at your fat photos and then your slinky clothes - which would you rather have? Get some meal planning done for the week and treat yourself to something either healthy food or non food - like a new nail polish - I got a lovely one for £1 from Superdrug in a nude colour. Tomorrow is another day - the slate is clean. You are at goal and I guess it is jsut as difficult to maintain as it is to lose. Go back to those comments you got from the thread in early September when you posted those lovely photos and remind yourself how far you have come. Grin

ok i have repeatidly slapped myself in the face and have managed to ignore the haribo.. will be planning my meals ahead and will NOT snack!! if im good for the next 3 days i hope to minimise damage and aim for a stay the same! it is not the end of the world it is only 1 week in the grand scheme of things!! i will lose a few more pounds so i have a bit more leeway with going either side of goal!

huffythethreadslayer · 11/09/2011 21:51

On the mushroom front, I've been using feta cheese sliced thinly and dotted on the toppings. It's less propoints than proper cheese and it tastes gorgeous when it's melted.

I've started to enjoy salad, too, but only when it's mixed with Moroccan couscous and waitrose low fat cloleslaw. Very yummy with prawns too...

LolaLadybird · 11/09/2011 22:53

Benbon - I have just looked at your photos after reading Andro's comments above and you look fantastic. You have inspired me to really get back to it tomorrow. If you can achieve that, you can cope with one dodgy week!

On the subject of feta cheese, I add it to salads a lot but only buy the reduced-fat version. As feta has such a sharp taste anyway, you really can't tell the difference.

non-weight goal:

androbbob - new work trousers in a 14 by Dec
littlefish - concert dress in 2 sizes smaller for Dec
TartyMcFarty - TTC #2 with PCOS, so need to be lighter and fitter to stand a chance.
JennyPiccolo - to be wearing topshop jeans at dds birthday in november ( and hopefully before)
herdingcats - to stay on track in hospital and be able to go clothes shopping for size 12 clothes afterwards.

Benbon- 1 week of falling off the wagon is nothing when you have done so well . Forget about past failings and move forward, we all have times when we can't or won't track properly.
Good luck for this weeks WI everyone .Keep on tracking Smile

morning all!

Plucked up courage to go back to WI after a 2 week binge hiatus - obviously not as bad as I thought as gained a pound only. Happy and now determined to get back on track and lose 1st by xmas.....thats a pound a week.

MrsWajs · 12/09/2011 19:18

Oh dear, might have over done it at the weekend again :( think I've reached my pre-baby weight and am now getting a bit lax! Must stay focussed! Weigh in tomorrow, fingers crossed!!

tinkgirl · 12/09/2011 19:28

I've been reading through some of the posts on here, some have lost and some haven't but can I just take a moment and say how inspirational I think you all are.

I am at the start of losing my weight and TBH it seems like a mountain to climb - I've 6 stone to get rid off, but you lot just don't give up - you might lose the momentum for a few days / weeks but you get right back into the swing of it.

so keep it up ladies, becuase with you lot behind me I might just do it this time Smile

crumbletastic · 12/09/2011 20:11

A 3.5 loss for me today which has given me my 10% keyring. I'm happy as I have NEVER been this skinny before but have to make a real effort to slow down my losses (19lb in 5 weeks). Going to eat all of my weeklies and all of my exercise points this week to slow down my loss. I do earn a lot of activity points as I walk maybe an hour everyday pushing toddler in a (heavy) pushchair and also carrying a not so little one in a wrap, but I don't eat many exercise points so that will have to change.

I heard at my meeting that the plan is being slightly amended in November, does anyone know what this might be?

changeforthebetter · 12/09/2011 20:17

Wow! Busy thread! Thank you so much for the info about WI day. I have switched to Wednesday as I am likely to splurge at the weekend. It's great to have the flexibility which you don't get with meetings. I started teacher training today and it seems there is no time to eat so that should help with the weight loss Grin

Go for it TinkGirl - don't think about 6 stone - what about the next dress size down, or losing a stone and how great that would feel? Smile

HeyH0 · 12/09/2011 21:04

Crumble The rumour is that weeklies will decrease as daily PP drop & fruit may acquire points... I believe a number of EU countries already decrease weekly points in line with weight, so that seems plausible. I personally think fruit should incur points, but I can't see that being a popular move.

androbbob · 12/09/2011 22:07

reporting a half pound loss here. Ok with that as been a bit slack on tracking. Just signed up to a 7 session bootcamp thing through Groupon. They do a class on a Monday afternoon before the school run so will start that next week - eek! It threatens to lose a dress size in 1 month - well I can be a challenge to them!

Interesting about the weekly PP possibly being reduced as the weight is lost - I think blondes would suscribe to that theory as she can never eat all her weeklies and lose weight.

Ok Bed now!

OP posts:
JennyPiccolo · 12/09/2011 23:03

My weeklies got decreased this week when i logged my weight, so that's already happening.

crumbletastic · 13/09/2011 07:57

How much by JennyPiccolo?

TartyMcFarty · 13/09/2011 08:14

So what with fruit incurring points, it looks like moving back towards the old system? Hmm Might just dig out my old books rather than buying any new ones. Don't go to WW anyway.

rushingrachel · 13/09/2011 12:34

Can report a 4 pound loss this week which means (drumroll) a stone in 3 weeks!! I am well chuffed and celebrated with a soft caramel bar.

verysmellyeli · 13/09/2011 12:59

Have been lurking for a while. Finding you all pretty inspirational - have just signed up for WW today, will do a bit of tracking first just to stop the denial that I am not eating much, and then get going. Have bad breastfeeding hunger - 9 weeks postnatal with DC3 and 4 stone to lose. I am as heavy as I have ever been when not pregnant. Everyone says 'oh, no hurry, you've just had a baby' - but I actually put ON weight after the other two and I cannot be any heavier, ever. I am nearly 40, make an 'oof' noise when I get out of bed or walk upstairs, have achy joints and bad back fat and stomach overhang and I need to sort myself out.

First non-weight goal - get into pair of size 16 jeans by my 39th birthday (around Halloween). Ultimate non-weight goal - size 12 dress for my 40th birthday party next year. Maybe in red??

androbbob · 13/09/2011 13:10

well done rushing rachel - great loss!

jenny - yes if you were on more than 29PP a day then it should decrease from say 33 to 31 and then down to 29 as the minimum. The weekly stays the same at 49PP. There is a rumour (on another site) that the weeklies will be banded - as a top, mid and lower level depending upon how close you are to your goal. I think if this is true then it makes sense as how can someone who is 5 stone overweight be on the same weeklies as someone of the same height who is only 1 stone over weight. Perhaps it is tending towards SW where the range is 5 to 15 syns and you have what suits you - an acknowledgement that we are all different! Apparently it is happening in November so those at meetings will find out and can let us all know!

OP posts:
crumbletastic · 13/09/2011 13:40

Congrats on your lost stone RushingRachel.

That makes sense about the weeklies dropping, I have about another 8lb to lose to goal but I have the same amount of weeklies as my husband who has nearer 5 stone to lose.

rushingrachel · 13/09/2011 13:48

Eli - I empathise so much, I put on weight after pregnancy too .... There is a clear reason for this. Wine. No wine during pregnancy, then suddenly being delighted to be able to drink, and then eating because I had a glass in my hand. Although I will have the odd glass at weekends I don't think alcohol is a dieter's friend ... it weakens resolve. It's so true, though, all of a sudden you look at yourself, you're not pregnant any more and you still look "big" (it was someone offering me help because they thought I was pregnant that spurred me into action).

And to give you hope I was in loose size 20 jeans a few weeks back which was seriously shameful given I'm short, and am now back in my size 16s. They're not loose, but they do up. I'm also feeling a million times better after only a few weeks. It's like my body saying a big thank you to me for giving it a break from the pounding with excess calories and chocolate!!

verysmellyeli · 13/09/2011 14:05

Thanks Rachel - that's really motivated me! I shall start properly tracking tomorrow I think. For me it's not wine so much (I've lost the taste after 6 years of pregnancy and BF'ing!) but trashy 'reward carbs'! Oh, I'm tired - I'll have a biscuit, oh, I've been up all night, I'll have some cake etc. etc. I too am in size 20 trousers.... But maybe I'll be in those 16's soon.

LolaLadybird · 13/09/2011 15:27

Congrats on your first stone Rushing - well done you.

Andro - good luck with the bootcamp, sounds great. I am really missing exercising - partly for the feel good factor and the 'me' time but also because of the feeling of being physically fit. It's been 5 weeks since I did any running or cycling and I can feel everything getting less toned.

Verysmelly - welcome and good luck. I'm right there with you on the trashy reward-carbs, probably my biggest downfall (although the Wine definitely features too!)
