I can no longer kid myself that I am just curvy and happy about it .

I am happy at a small size 14 and I am now a large size 16 .

Does anybody want to join me in some mutual arse kicking to keep on track ?

My plan is to just eat less and move more .

I have tried low carbing in the past and it did work but I just couldn't keep it up for long .

I have also done ww before which did work longer term but I can't get to my local meetings anymore .

Please feel free to join in and tell me to stop eating rubbish and being a lazy sod .

Well, I have been out for a curry but I had a gin and slimline tonic, tandoori prawns and plain rice. So I'm hoping not too much damage done.

Krispy kremes avoided even though everyone else had one Sad.

Have a barbecue to navigate tomorrow. I'm really hoping the temptations wane soon.

How about everyone else, hopefull you're not all face down in a box of Thornton's continental. Grin

TrinIsASadSpottyFatRhino · 24/06/2011 23:48

I've eaten twice my fat weight in very tasty, conforting SHITE

sorry guys Sad

travellingwilbury · 25/06/2011 06:50

Morning , well done messie , good luck at the bbq . It is the bread at these things that is my downfall . Chicken and salad is normally a good bet .

Trin , some times you just need comforting shite , hope you are ok . Today is another day .

I am still feeling pretty good about getting this sorted , I know it is going to take a few months and there are no quick fixes but I am going in the right direction which is better than I was .

Hi everyone, I think I'm going to have to be a 'watcher' - little tyke just doesn't give me five minutes to type (am doing this one-handed with a wriggling monster in my lap). It's really encouraging reading all your stories though.

FoundWanting · 25/06/2011 10:16

Trin - me too. Sad

I was doing so well yesterday until I got home from the school run to find DS1 making toasted cheese sandwiches. The rest of the evening was a carb/fat feast.

So, back on the wagon today and off to the supermarket to stock up. Have a good weekend everyone.

travellingwilbury · 25/06/2011 10:27

Caring I know that feeling well , pop back as and when .

FW Good luck today , we all will have days like that and at least it won't be every day anymore Blush

I just keep telling myself I have got to do it now . I was boring myself with my moaning about it .

So far so god today , I am on a break at work , fruit and yogurt for breakfast and I am having scrambled eggs for lunch . Just got to think about dinner now .

I have also joined Myfitnesspal , it is free and I am finding it good to keep track of my calories . When you see everything written down it does make you realise how much more I was having before .

Right I have bought zumba on wii , just done half hour and it works Grin

It is a bit tricky but good fun .

Feeling all virtuous now .

That's great tw I was looking at that last time I was in town. Is it really fast? I'm not the most co-ordinated person in the world.

travellingwilbury · 25/06/2011 16:30

I am sticking to the beginner levels which are not too bad and there are a lot of instructions and practise bits .

I did enjoy it , but I waited until I was alone because I did look a plonk .

OP posts:
tinker316 · 25/06/2011 18:00

I have done several zumba classes , but have not been 4 ages- struggled with childcare Sad
But I'm also thinking of getting it on the wii as it is fun & u have privacy in ur own home Wink

tibni · 25/06/2011 18:54

Weekend is always the most difficult time for me.

Yesterday was chippy tea - I didnt pig out but enjoyed what I had. And I have managed 5 gym sessions this week.

I guess out of all this I need to get some balance. Over the last couple of years I have fluctuated up and down the same stone - not loads I know but enough to make me feel uncomfortable.

travellingwilbury · 25/06/2011 19:02

I can find weekends hard too , we are going to have a curry tonight but I am having tandoori chicken with salad as opposed to the chicken biryani , naan bread and sag aloo I would normally scoff Blush

tibni I would think that doing 5 sessions at the gym more than makes up for a chippy tea .

I have been on here far too much today but it is better than eating toast I suppose Grin

Took dd, 12, clothes shopping today and walked miles - the girl really knows how to shop. Think I may have worked off as many calories shopping as at the gym!

My curry of choice is Korma which must be the worst option with all the cream! I am a wimp with hot curry.

whyme2 · 26/06/2011 06:46

ooh, I posted a message last night but it has disappeared Hmm

I was only complaining how hard weekends are - yesterday consisted of cake, cake, kebab, chips, lager and a white chocolate magnum mmm! Not a good day although we did a quite a lot of walking - a 1 hour stint on my own and later another hour with dc's in tow.

Back to basics today. I am about to have a go at Davinia and then when dcs are up later we are going out to the park.

Weekends are sooooo hard!

messybessie · 26/06/2011 11:52

Well, an average day yesterday. I think I realised yesterday that my level of eating recently has been putting on weight and it needs drastic efforts to go into reverse and lose weight. Also need to fit sone exercise in.

So, we hosted small gathering at lunch where I served Pimms but didn't drink it. Did have a hot dog but no pizza.

Resisted ice cream all afternoon.

Had barbecue in evening and ate far less than usual and only had a very small glass of wine. Then blew it all by having dessert Wink.

It felt like a real effort even though I was way over my points.

I think this is going to be a long old slog. Sad

travellingwilbury · 26/06/2011 12:13

Just got in from work , going to have a roast dinner later and I am looking forward to it . Going to do the wii fit or zumba soon . Still feeling pretty motivated to get this flab sorted .

whyme How did you get on with Davina ?

messy Just keep on keeping on , it is a bit of a slog but it will be so worth it when you see the results .

tibni shopping as exercise sounds like my kind of keep fit Grin

whyme2 · 26/06/2011 12:41

Actually I got on okay with Davinia. I thought it would either kill me ie be very hard, or be to fancy i.e. complicated for me. In fact I thought it was a good workout. Didn't really feel it until the (I was sweating buckets though) but now 4 hours later I can really feel it.
I bought a box set in a charity shop yesterday for £2.99 so I have only done one routine from the 3 30 minute workout dvd. I did skip ff through the others for an idea of their contents.
I don't think she was as intense as the shred though.

I was there puffing away, turned and four faces were peering at me from the sitting room doorway. And then one dc foolishly commented "you're doing it wrong mummy". There were bribed to stay upstairs then until I had finished.

whyme2 · 26/06/2011 12:45

messy I totally understand what you mean in your last post. Realising that you've been overeating for a while and then cutting back to a sensible level and then cutting back even further in order to lose weight. I've had to do the same because over the last 6 months my weight has steadily increased. It is going to take a lot of long term effort to undo things really. For myself I need to find a way to stay motivated especially with dieting.

travellingwilbury · 26/06/2011 12:55

The motivation is the hardest thing isn't it ? I know I feel like I have had a good few days but it will be hard to keep this level up . But even if I have a bad day next week I think the secret is to to just write it off and start again the next day . In the past I would just give up then and think bugger it , or persuade myself that the extra couple of stones didn't matter and I liked the way I was .

But I know I don't , I hate looking at photos of myself and in fact there are very few of me and the children . I tend to be behind the camera so I don't have to see myself in the pictures .

OP posts:
tibni · 26/06/2011 17:52

Motivation is my problem too. It is also making the effort when I am alone at lunchtime, I prefer healthy salads but tend to grab at toast for quickness.

As I have aged my body has changed, it is less forgiving in hiding the weight and more difficult to shed it. I was always a 12 all over and looked right at a 12 (I am 5 8). I am now in a 10 on the bottom but have a tummy, handles and could do with more tone in my legs. So my plan is to run more - this week I have managed 15km - to kick start my metabolism and eat less, sounds so simple!

travellingwilbury - 3 years ago I looked at my holiday photos and hated what I saw. I lost the weight but it has started to creep back on and I need to take charge again.

messy I know this is going to be a slog for me also. The moment I take my eye off I am back to my old ways. I really have to make these changes for life and you know I think that can be a positive and happy way to live.

travellingwilbury · 27/06/2011 07:06

Good morning , another monday . It is my one day off of the week today . This is always a bit of a dodgy one for me eating wise . I have too much time on my hands .

Need to keep busy , I don't want to ruin it for weigh in tomorrow .

How is everyone feeling ?

OP posts:
tibni · 27/06/2011 08:50

morning all.

I am off today too travellingwilbury but go on call at 5pm so I am planning some gym time this morning and to get on the scales Shock. I hope I will have gone under the 11 stone barrier but think it will be only just under.

It is my big birthday in September and last night dh suggested we try and get away for a couple of nights, possibly a city break somewhere warm. ds is 10 and severely disabled so it will take a lot of organising as there are only a few people who can look after him. dd is 12 going on 22 so isnt a problem.

I would love to go away, but with working 3 jobs and a demanding family life I think I fancy somewhere that I can chill and not have to think - possibly a beach? I am not well travelled (ds doesnt travel well) so I have not really any ideas where. Anyone any suggestions?

Will be back later after the weigh in!

FoundWanting · 27/06/2011 09:32

Good morning.

Another one at home today. I intend to get all my jobs done so that I can sit down and watch a bit of Wimbledon before the school run. It's already stupid hot here, so don't feel like eating. Grin

Are we weighing in today?

whyme2 · 27/06/2011 09:42

Morning everyone,
I am feeling quite positive now, had a good day yesterday and I am still aching from doing the dvd. Have plans to do it again tomorrow and I am walking to school and home twice today which is nearly 3 miles altogether.

tibna hope you get your break, I am amazed you have 3 jobs!! and dcs too. You definitely need a break. I don't know where in the country you are but Hastings is lovely and by the sea. I also really like Liverpool. Good luck with the organising!
