Whilst shopping with my super slim friend over the weekend I realised just how fat I feel - and getting on the scales provided proof. I've put on 2 stone - 1 stone of which has come on very recently ( think a month or two?!).
Other than looking lumpy and increasingly featureless, my legs are achy and I don't feel like I've woken up properly ever.
So, I'm going to start on the diet today. The plan is to eat lots of veg and fruits, lean meats, and limited carbs. I'm going to have 3 decent sized meals a day, and not snack unless I'm truely hungry.

I'm going to weigh myself and post on here every Tuesday. Anyone who wants to join in please do!

Starting weight; 11st 13.
(Target weight 10st so 1st 13lbs to lose)

Oh btw Mrs SB I think SW is Slimming World!

MrsStringerBell · 02/06/2011 14:48

Ah thanks Lambskin - not one I've ever considered but am investigating now!

B4Beatrice · 02/06/2011 14:48

I think you just need to think about what fruit you are eating, MSB, and just have that after dinner portion as your only portion. Oh, I don't know, I'm so over weight and just quoting out of books so......blah.....

Any way, is SW not Slimming World, MSB??

MrsStringerBell · 02/06/2011 14:55

Good tip B4B, thanks. Although I worry that my mouth will be consumed by ulcers if I cut back on the fruit - sorry to be gross but think they're in my genes and are the bain of my life! Veg just isn't the same, or that's what my brain tells me anyway!

Baking chocolate brownies, lemon cupcakes, sausage rolls and a huge chocolate torte tonight for a big family do at the weekend - talk about rubbing my own face in it - must be strong...

B4Beatrice · 02/06/2011 14:59

Wow, big cross post!!

I also need rules, I have decided to go on a diet before and low carb it etc etc, but I never stay the distance. Hence now being over 3st over weight (well less now but you know...).

This Dukan diet has had good and bad press, bad press claiming it is too high in protein, and unhealthy (you are told to sweeten things with aspartame rather than normal sugars).

But I need to get the weight OFF. Not doing so would be unhealthy. And this diet seems to be working for me because it has set rules, no grey areas, and a chart telling you what you will weigh when. PROVIDING YOU DONT BREAK THE RULES. Which I would do over and over and over again if I was left to my own devices!

It's all about finding what works for you, I guess.

JarethTheGoblinKing · 02/06/2011 15:02

I'll join you lot as well. Been trying to steadily lose 1lb a week for the last 3 and it's working (have tried the crash diets before and they just don't work for me, so slow and steady this time round :) )

I will limit carbs, eat more lean meat and fresh everything and stop eating crap. I've got a Wii fit now as well, which should help get the weight off.

2 stone by the end of the year, should be more than achieveable (unless I get myself knocked up again, of course Wink)

B4Beatrice · 02/06/2011 15:03

Wow MSB, you must be very strong!
Don't think I could do that, without having a crafty bit here and there!

MrsStringerBell · 02/06/2011 15:21

We'll see - will report back tomorrow on whether I manage to stay on the straight and narrow when faced with pastry and cake! Definitely agree: re banoffee pie!

JarethTheGoblinKing · 02/06/2011 15:37

AGH... DP has just suggested Dominoes for tea, the bugger!

Lambskin · 02/06/2011 15:50

Don't do it! Be strong. Did you have anything else planned that you can focus on? Dominoes are lard. Feeling your pain Smile

MrsStringerBell · 02/06/2011 15:56

What I would do for a dominos right now - feeling your pain Jareth. Going to seek solace in a can of diet coke - I'm sure that'll be just as nice as a raisin and biscuit yorkie....

JarethTheGoblinKing · 02/06/2011 17:48

Well I'm going to do half an hour on the Wii fit in advance and well have one last pizza :) I'll have to just eat salad tomorrow though :p

B4Beatrice · 02/06/2011 19:12

So food log for today,

Breakfast- 2 tbs worth of chocolate oatmeal cookies- 119 calories
Lunch- can of tuna, mixed with a little low fat yogurt, with spinach. And then a chicken drumstick. -280 calories.
Dinner- homemade meatballs in tomato sauce with added red peppers an onions. -582 (1) calories.

So total a massive 981! Have done no exercise yet so will be looking to burn at least 300 calories tonight. Hopefully a few more. No BGT tonight for me .

Lambskin · 02/06/2011 20:26

If you think that's massive you'll choke when you see my day!

Breakfast - banana and green tea
Lunch - sardines (tinned in spring water), boiled egg, avocado and a large crunchy salad (red cabbage, cucumber and lettuce)
Dinner - roasted chicken pieces, rocket salad and capers
Snack - 3 squares of Green&Blacks 95% chocolate

I also did the Davina DVD

Stuffed now.

B4Beatrice · 02/06/2011 20:42

Doesn't sound terrible, especially as you are having no dressing on the salads.
Chocolates a bit cheeky, but you have to stay sane, right?

Really really need to do some exercise, but baby is not wanting to go too sleep!! Arg!

Lambskin · 02/06/2011 20:54

Oh exercise is hard when you have a baby. I didn't do any yesterday because of my ds and he's 6. I find if I don't do it first thing I probably won't do it at all, someone will come round, there'll be a random emergency, ds2 won't get off the ps3, deblahdeblah. I need the tv to do mine too so it is limiting.

I know the chocolate was cheeky Smile Nice though.

B4Beatrice · 02/06/2011 21:09

Well I was originally doing the x trainer of an evening, so I had unlimited time. We have a TV in the garage in front of the X trainer, so I would just put a film on and see how far I could go.

Then I started doing some running and have been a couple of mornings while DD and DP are till in bed as well as X trainer in evening.

So yesterday I ran in the morning, X trainer in the early evening, and then went bowling with some friends late last night. Well, I got up this morning and my body was so sore! I used to be an international gymnast, so I know about being sore, and this morning was like going back 7 years.

So I had an ice bath, whilst DD was napping today and my muscles and joints feel a little better now. TBH I don't think I would of been ready to do anything earlier today!

madwomanintheattic · 03/06/2011 00:39

well, the movers have gone, and i've been stress-eating all day whilst the house was packed around me:
b'fast - 1 slice toast (too flappy to eat)
lunch - ham and cheese roll, with mayo Blush i made them for the movers but there were two left. at least i didn't eat both...
snacks - er. two (small) raisin bran muffins. 4 peanut butter cookies. Blush

i haven't got the energy to think about dinner yet. i've got a cub meeting to run in ten minutes and it's cub camp tomorrow for the weekend. fortunately i have to just organise everyone, not actually go (as my removals arrive at t'other house on saturday, so i have to go unpack) but i'm having One Of Those Days. i do have to get ds1 ready though... largely as he's utterly incapable of getting himself ready, and has already had histrionics today because i threw his favourite paper aeroplane in the bin before the truck arrived.

i have salmon in the fridge though. and salad things. so i think i will squeeze in something healthy later. i just have to resist the urge to say 'oh bollocks' and take the kids to the pub for dinner on the way home from cubs.

willpower. willpower. willpower. Grin

and i forgot to dig out davina. so now i have to wait until the weekend and try and work out which box she's in. but on the plus side, it means he can show me how to get it to work on the latop. Grin

right, cubs.

Lambskin · 03/06/2011 10:29

madwoman moving house is very stressful in itself never mind all the other organising you've been doing and trying to watch what you eat. Did you have the salmon or sod it and go to the pub?

B4B very impressed with the exercise. And ICE BATH! That's hardcore. I had to have a cold bath once when I was 10 and I had an allergic reaction to something and swelled up and was covered in welts (yes, nice I know). Most miserable 10 minutes of my young life.

Today so far:
Small bowl of mixed berries and green tea
Natalie Cassidy DVD (I know, I know)
Now going to have a boiled egg and another mug of green tea, bloody love the stuff.

madwomanintheattic · 03/06/2011 16:41

didn't have either. ate a leftover ham sandwich as i ws knackered. cooked salmon for the kids though, but put it in a cream sauce with pasta and thought i'd better not have that! Grin decided i was too skint to go to the pub, but seeing as i didn't get out of cubs until twenty past eight, and the kids have to be out of the pub at nine, it was just as well!

right. toast ang yog for b'fast, but will confess now that i am volunteering at the school bbq at lunchtime, and paid for my burger two weeks ago. Blush so i am going to eat it.

dh is in charge tonight, but as i've got to drive four hours with over-excited boys in the back, i'll be past caring.

will def be minimising portions though Grin

not going to have time to exercise today - but will be humping and dumping furniture and boxes all weekend, so it's probably just as well!

have a healthy weekend if i don't make it back until monday, all!

Lambskin · 04/06/2011 08:43

Hope everyone is ok.

Yesterday's food:

Breakfast - mixed berries, hard boiled egg
Lunch - carrot and coriander soup
Dinner - fresh tuna (griddled), large salad of rocket, fennel, been beans, green olives (5), griddled courgette, boiled egg and harumph glasses of Rose.

I have to say the wine was factored in to my daily calorie allowance, it was Friday and we were in the garden and it was lovely last night.
Excuses over.

How's everyone else doing?

Lambskin · 04/06/2011 08:44

Green beans not been beans thank you iPad.

bogle · 04/06/2011 09:20

Hi everyone, couldn't check in yesterday as was out virtually all day from early on.

Food: porridge and banana, 3 satsumas, small pasta pesto, 2 apples, 2 veg burgers and beans, berries and nat yog. also small glass wine and some olives and pistatios in the garden, same as you Lambskin

Planning on shredding, gardening and hoovering today (then watching BGT)

mrstimlovejoy · 04/06/2011 21:51

think i'll join you if thats ok.just been looking at photos of myself at a wedding last weekend and i look so frumpy with about 3 chins hideous.my dh has been eating really healthily and exercising and has lost 2 and a half stone since february but i've not been motivated to join him but i am now.
i weigh 11 st 3 lbs and would like to get down to around 9 stone.last year i started running but gradually stopped so intending to start again and go swimming every other day.

B4Beatrice · 05/06/2011 00:15

Okay, can't be bothered to list all foods.
But basically, managed to net 574 calories after burning off 300 calories. So ate 874.

On the plus side managed to avoid being naughty at big family BBQ. Lots of sausages, breads, coleslaw, cakes, cakes and scones and clotted cream!
Managed to side step it all. Did make myself some chocolate oat bran cookies whilst others were eating dessert, so did go over my oat bran allowance (Dukan allowance) for today, but a much better option than homemade bakewell tart!

Finished exercise, shower, bed, and the scales in the morning!
Wish me luck!

Keep it up ladies!
