Whilst shopping with my super slim friend over the weekend I realised just how fat I feel - and getting on the scales provided proof. I've put on 2 stone - 1 stone of which has come on very recently ( think a month or two?!).
Other than looking lumpy and increasingly featureless, my legs are achy and I don't feel like I've woken up properly ever.
So, I'm going to start on the diet today. The plan is to eat lots of veg and fruits, lean meats, and limited carbs. I'm going to have 3 decent sized meals a day, and not snack unless I'm truely hungry.

I'm going to weigh myself and post on here every Tuesday. Anyone who wants to join in please do!

Starting weight; 11st 13.
(Target weight 10st so 1st 13lbs to lose)

Lambskin · 11/06/2011 08:47

Well done bogle you've lost loads! Shock Grin

I've been wondering where owlets is aswell. If you're lurking and reading this please come back, we wouldn't be here if it wasn't for you. The support really does help, knowing I have to post my weight every Friday stops me from slipping into old habits. So just let us know how you are. Smile

I think I've pulled a muscle in my foot from all this leaping about I've been doing. I exercise barefoot which I know isn't the best idea but I prefer it, and I don't have any suitable trainers.
I've had my berries and am doing a DVD in a minute if I can get ds2 out of the front room.

Last night I had scallops with spinach and roasted vegetables, and a couple of glasses of white wine. Not bad at all for a Friday, oh yes and I snacked on some smoked salmon I had left over from making sushi for ds1. Tonight we're out for a curry so wish me luck!

bogle · 11/06/2011 11:32

Hiya, the support does help, doesn't it? Well, I've just shredded for the day but have an afternoon into evening party today and a big family bash all day tomorrow, so weekend food will be quite tricky. Good luck to everyone.

TinyBubbles · 12/06/2011 19:16

Buffet central this weekend Shock no good but could have been much worse so back into healthy stuff tomorrow...going to supermarket so I can stock up on yummy things like fruit and prawns etc ... eyes on the prize! Under 11st by friday!!

TinyBubbles · 13/06/2011 07:16

Still 11st1 this morn so not done to much weekend damage! Going to do Davina after I drop the kids at school food is B- grapefruit/L- ryvita and cream cheese and tomato Dinner will be something healthy but yummy post-supermarket!!

Monday is the start of a new week ladies - make it a good one Grin

Lambskin · 13/06/2011 08:22

Been very good so far despite the birthday. Had tandoori prawns followed by tandoori chicken with a green salad on Saturday night and just one popadom! Last night I made lasagne with strips of courgette instead of pasta and no sauce or cheese, it was really yummy and filled me up much quicker than usual. Nearly killed myself with exercise yesterday as I 'm not going to have time today.

You're on track Tiny not far to go now! What's your ultimate goal or are you taking it as it comes?

Keep with it everyone! We're all doing really well!

TinyBubbles · 13/06/2011 08:53

I'd like to hover under 10st I think...9st7 is too thin for me (get saggy boobs and thin face!) so 9st12ish is prob ideal Smile I mainly want to be 10st by end July for my holiday.

Lambskin · 13/06/2011 09:12

Same here (re saggy boobs and thin face), my dh is already getting worried about the boobage but I think exercise and lifting weights helps (?).

I've got a feeling that the last stone is going to be the hardest one to shift. I haven't been on a diet since I was in my twenties and I'm 40 now so I have a slightly (ha!) different body and metabolism.

I think a stone a month is definitely achievable though, especially once you're in 'the zone '.

bogle · 13/06/2011 10:19

Hi all, I was really careful over the weekend, so hoping to just keep going, will be in Palma 2 weeks today for a 4-day break with girl friends, then got to keep plugging away for mid - july. It sounds like everyone has been doing brilliantly, fingers crossed for good results on Friday.

madwomanintheattic · 13/06/2011 16:34

tiny, i'm probably the same re ideal weight tbh. i should be around 9 1/2 i think, but i haven't been that scrawny since i was at school (have always been a runner until kids came along) so more muscle than skin and bone! of course, these days i'm more flab than skin and bone, but we're sorting that out...

weekend has been fairly helpful from a diet point of view (Grin) but generally lousy. friday i started going downhill with a cold/ flu thing, but knew i had to go to guide camp. yurk. so spent the night and saturday in a sort of high temperature fuelled haze, doing as much far distance supervision as possible and not getting into close contact with anyone. (they needed me for numbers or i would have been in bed.) had no appetite at all and got no sleep. spent the remainder of saturday in bed dosed up, and sunday.

today i feel slightly better! i no longer have a raging temperature, or a headache, or hot and cold flushes! (dh accused me of hitting the menopause, but as i have raging pmt today, i suspect not Grin)

so, at least i should be lighter, if not healthier

i am extremely jealous of the tandoori prawns/ chicken Envy and also of the impending hols... currently all i have to look forward to is moving and a summer of lots of visits from the uk! (actually that will be fine. lucky enough to be moving to lovely place and there's lots for visitors to do. can send them out with the dcs and get on with house stuff!)

right - bfast oatmeal and half a banana. lunch salad. dinner tbc as currently doing the old mother hubbard routine. should be fine on a diet today as there's nowt in the cupboards. have loads to do on the computer today, so must make time for some exercise later.

no mn until the kids are in bed! and that's another 10 hours... rl calls.

TinyBubbles · 13/06/2011 16:44

sorry you have been poorly madwoman hope you feel 100% soon

Dinner here is teryaki salmon with chinese greens and rice I think.

TinyBubbles · 14/06/2011 07:30

Today will be B: yog and berries L: sweetcorn & prawn salad D:bacon salad with celariac chips

And I will run or do Davina. I did Aerobic fit yesterday (without interruptions this time!) and it was good. I like her exercise style - not to complicated to pick up Smile

Lambskin · 14/06/2011 14:31

Get well soon madwoman, not a good way to lose weight. Take it easy with the exercise until you're properly better.

I like Davina's style too Tiny did her Buff Body cardio this morning all the way through without a hint of a stitch and even managed to put in some extra oomph! Grin [very proud emoticon]

My size 14s are getting very baggy but I'm not quite a 12, anyone else inbetweeny at the mo?

Yesterday had a very naughty Waitrose dinner of chicken skewers on rocket then pork belly with salad and fennel. Was lush Smile

Pre-workout breakfast of pear and green tea, post-workout breakfast of boiled egg and 2 ryvitas
Lunch was lentil and vegetable soup
Dinner will be pasta, sauce and cheese free lasagne with salad

Said no to birthday cake yesterday. Hurrah!

madwomanintheattic · 14/06/2011 17:09

well, you're right with the exercise, lamb. as i can't laugh without sounding like a geriatric 60 a day smoker, i'm holding off for another couple of days. Grin i feel alright though, until i start coughing!

found some salmon in the freezer, so managed to postpone the grocery shop until tomorrow! (woohoo - it's an hour and a half round trip, so i'm always keen to not go...)

oatmeal and banana for brekkie.
salad for lunch.
salmon for dinner, not sure what with. might stir fry some veggies with ginger.

i bought my last lot of salad from bleeding walmart, and it's rank already. tsk. shan't bother again.

which means i now have nothing to do all day except work! no distractions! yay!

TinyBubbles · 14/06/2011 19:13

Today has been great fun...but not a good food day...attack of the munchies! Will start again tomorrow Grin

LemonLime · 14/06/2011 22:26

Hi all. Can I join you also?
I have 2 and a half stone to lose, and am weighing in at 12st 5lbs today.

I know i have to cut down my portion sizes and drink loads more water, as i'm bfeeding a 6 monther and confusing my thirst for hunger.
Reaching for silly snacks for quick bursts of energy as a replacement for sleep.

I've got a wedding to go to in August, and long to be slimmer again for my own comfort.

I really need to be honest with myself, and I'm thinking you folks may keep me on the straight and narrow.

madwomanintheattic · 15/06/2011 01:56

hi lemon! Grin
aw, august wedding, sounds like a perfect goal and timeline. i ate like a pig whenever bfing. mine didn't do much in the way of sleeping, so i was very much seeking energy in calories rather than rest!

have been knackered today. think i didn't eat enough for lunch, was just very salady and not much substance, so i'm going to have to make sure i up the protein a bit! just didn't want to eat too much as not exercising, but think i need a few more calories to get healthier!

am now definitely out of food except for the bananas and yoghurt for b'fast though, so tomorrow will be a dangerous grocery shopping day... must remind myself to buy fruits and veggies and not load up the trolley with delicious irresistable carbs...

Lambskin · 15/06/2011 07:45

Morning!

Hello Lemon, it was after my ds2 was born that I started piling on the weight so you've got the right attitude at the right time. You can definitely lose a lot by August.

Make sure you eat before you shop madwoman then you think with your head not your stomach. I always do a weekly meal plan so I have tunnel vision whilst shopping and don't go 'ooh, that looks nice!' and come home with crap.

I'm knackered but shall be doing some boxing this morning. I've got a pear, then boiled egg and ryvitas, lunch is soup and dinner is salmon and roasted vegetables.

Have a good day everyone and keep off the munchies! Yes Tiny I'm talking to you! Grin

TinyBubbles · 15/06/2011 09:21
Blush
LemonLime · 15/06/2011 12:44

Thanks for the welcome!
I think I got off to a bad start, I put my details into food focus for breakfast and lunch, and it turned out I was already over my day's calorie limit of 839. I can't imagine eating less, so I got out the unopened shred dvd and completed day 1, with my baby looking on bemused.

I feel great after doing it and having a quick shower. I'll have to keep it up, as there is no way I'm going to eat less than 1000cal a day. Looks like i'll be having lettuce for dinner though!

Lambskin · 15/06/2011 14:41

lemon 839 calories a day! Shock that's inhuman and impossible to keep to surely?! Try my fitness pal, they gave me 1200 a day and I think that's pretty usual. You get more for exercise and they give you the option of reevaluating after you lose 10 lbs and increasing to 1500.

Mind you having said that I think B4Beatrice is eating very few calories and finding it ok, so maybe it's what you eat rather how much.

What did you have for breakfast and lunch?

I have found that I do exercise everyday because of the calorie thing. You have to find something that works for you whether it's calorie counting or following a diet plan. I'm a greedy pig so exercising means I eat more!

madwomanintheattic · 15/06/2011 16:32

839?!
that's why i can't follow a plan. seriously.
right, it's pissing down with rain, my desktop computer had over 200 blardy trojan horse infections (fecking thing has been a nightmare for three days and my security software had apparently eaten itself, so i've had to reinstall it and spend hours watching the 'infected' files scrolling up), i've got about 60,000 words to write in a month, and i'm starving. i am not having a good day. Angry

bananas in the morning make me feel sick (it's a hangover from being pg with dd1 - after 11 years i still can't eat a banana first thing without feeling queasy, but this morning i had two bites and literally couldn't manage any more). so i'm off to hunt through the cupboards to try and find something else that i can eat to fortify myself for a 45 minute drive to the supermarket in the rain. yeuch. good point about being full before the shop though, lamb.

right, i feel a little better now i've got that off my chest. Grin

will steel myself for sensible purchases in the knowledge that i'll have to confess sins later. Grin

bogle · 15/06/2011 20:05

hello all (and welcome Lemon),

well, we had cocktails last night, and champagne, and a take away curry, and a box of chocs...

Back to straight and narrow today though. Have shredded and eaten v sensibly.

Good luck everyone, see you friday...
