Whilst shopping with my super slim friend over the weekend I realised just how fat I feel - and getting on the scales provided proof. I've put on 2 stone - 1 stone of which has come on very recently ( think a month or two?!).
Other than looking lumpy and increasingly featureless, my legs are achy and I don't feel like I've woken up properly ever.
So, I'm going to start on the diet today. The plan is to eat lots of veg and fruits, lean meats, and limited carbs. I'm going to have 3 decent sized meals a day, and not snack unless I'm truely hungry.

I'm going to weigh myself and post on here every Tuesday. Anyone who wants to join in please do!

Starting weight; 11st 13.
(Target weight 10st so 1st 13lbs to lose)

Maybe this has already been discussed, but for those of you doing the 30 day shred, are you loosing pounds? I was very into the Shred for a few weeks and then got out of the way of it, and to be honest have been putting off restarting it since I started dieting properly as I'm worried I will loose inches instead. I know that's a good thing, but I really need the psychological boost of seeing the lbs going doen on the scales.

littledolly · 21/06/2011 19:42

going down on the scales, even!

itsnicetobenice · 21/06/2011 20:46

in this last week i have excersised every night but have only done the shred every other night as i was concerned of this too.

LollipopViolet · 21/06/2011 21:56

Well my starting weight was a rough guess! Will weigh myself tomorrow and give a proper one. I'm slightly concerned that it'll be higher though :( Still, at least I'm doing things to make it go down again! :)

Might look into the classes my leisure centre offers, unfortunately I can't afford a membership (£30 a month at a council run leisure centre for gym, pool and classes!) so will have to pay each time. Don't know what class would compliment swimming though...

Hello all

I've just finished Davina's Buff Cardio. My arms are still aching from yesterday's Tae Bo so I'm expecting guns of steel very soon Grin

Breakfast today: mixed berries and green tea first thing, boiled egg and ryvitas in a minute with more green tea
Lunch: lentil and vegetable soup
Dinner: roasted chicken, carrots, green beans and peas with gravy (can't wait)

Hungry now writing about it so off to boil an egg! Back later.

LollipopViolet · 22/06/2011 15:59

Hello!

Did another half mile swim, and an aquafit class today. I'm having a rest til Monday now, but will do something each day, just not sure what yet.

tinker316 · 22/06/2011 16:05

Well , my 30 day shred DVD ha arrived!!
Will attempt it 2night when DD has settled!!

moosemama · 22/06/2011 17:07

Hi folks,

Well done on all the exercise. I haven't done any - again, well unless you count the school run, but that's not far enough to count really.

I have upped my calories and was only 46kcals below yesterday.

Today:

Breakfast: Porridge with water and a decaff coffee
Snack: 150g Fat free strawberry yoghurt
Lunch: Wholemeal pitta with philadelphia extra light mini portion and 4 cherry tomatoes, plus 50g fresh strawberries, 25g fresh blueberries and 10g brazil nuts and a detox tea

Don't have a clue what to have for dinner. I have 623 calories left and zero inspiration. Everyone else is having mediterranean veg risotto, but I feel like that would be a bit carby (white risotto rice) and I can't be faffed to work out the calories in it. I might just go for an omelette and salad I think.

Having a bad evening mood wise (thank you very much ds1's teacher for that Angry) so its going to be tough not being able to comfort eat tonight.

itsnicetobenice · 22/06/2011 17:32

moosemama go easy on yourself, one day with a slight wibble wont kill ya i sure, i generally go for a run when im worked up then come home and pig out so it kinda evens out!

Well after my week of being under most day with my cals (except friday) when i went over 41 or something daft and excersising every day for 30 mins doing cycling/ running or 30 day shred i lost da da da.......... 2lb! More would have been better but never mind 2 is a start. I am upping my eating now as i wonder if i went slightly into starvation mode so eating more will lose more - does this actually happen???? Will try and do 30 day shred tonight as tomoroow im out at a restaurant eek .

moosemama · 22/06/2011 18:11

2lbs is great itsnice - well done! You've most likely built up some muscle with all that exercise, as well as lost some weight, so its evened itself up.

Having six smaller intakes that add up to your correct calorie intake, rather than fewer intakes than bring you in under the limit does actually work to boost your metabolism, so you are more likely to lose more weight. Seems counter-intuituve, but it definitely works. I really need to fit some snacks in, I just never seem to get the time.

I am off shopping with Mum tomorrow to spend my birthday vouchers and money, so that will be a challenge. We don't go often, so when we do we usually stop for coffee and a cake as a treat. Just coffee doesn't feel the same somehow.

itsnicetobenice · 22/06/2011 18:13

yeah im thinking perhaps knock the shred on the head as it had strength work in it which could add muscle where as running and cyclng must be more burny off cals do you think? can you tell im looking for an excuse to exercise less? Grin.

itsnicetobenice · 22/06/2011 18:14

Enjoy your cake - given the chance i would have a coffee walnut layer cake .

moosemama · 22/06/2011 18:22

Ah now it's John Lewis Carrot Cake that's usually my treat when we go shopping - but I think that would probably use about three day's calorie allowance! Shock

There's nothing wrong with adding muscle - the more muscle you have - the faster you burn fat - so you can eat more. Win-win! Grin

I'm just not physically able to do the exercise at the moment and I've had to face up to the fact. I will walk when I can, but I daren't risk putting myself back into crisis by overdoing it. Am hoping to build up slowly and do more once I'm a bit fitter. I am so tired this week, I am struggling to keep my eyes open, but have made a concerted effort to be generally more active and mobile - every little helps, as they say.

itsnicetobenice · 22/06/2011 18:25

you deserve cake Smile. ooo muscle burning - now i think i should do the dreaded shred!

tinker316 · 22/06/2011 18:54

Hhmmm carrot cake Wink

moosemama · 22/06/2011 19:42

That's how I got in this fix in the first place, telling myself I deserve this cake/chocolate/biscuit/packet of crisps. Blush No - I will be strong, just a coffee it is.

tinker - don't let me tempt you, be strong!

tinker316 · 22/06/2011 21:03

I had a go at ' 30 day shred' this evening Smile sure got my heart rate up Wink
Def going 2 try doing it every day-no pain no gain!!lol!!

itsnicetobenice · 22/06/2011 21:24

good going - the day after the first time i did it i had to use the wall to ease myself on the loo ha ha!

Lambskin · 23/06/2011 07:48

moosemama good on you for resisting temptation, think of another way to treat yourself. Happy birthday for whenever it was by the way Smile. shopping works off quite a few calories too Grin.
Sorry you've had problems with your ds's teacher, I've had days where I have seriously considered home schooling but then, you know, I imagine 24 hours with ds 2 and grit my teeth and off we go again ...

I think I'm having stuffed peppers tonight which should be good.

Already dreading tomorrow's weigh-in.

tinker316 · 23/06/2011 09:57

LollipopViolet · 23/06/2011 15:02

Hello all!

Well, swimming is off for a few days, thanks to mother nature's intervention, but it does explain why I have been craving things that are bad for me!

Will be good over the next few days and then resume swimming hopefully on Wednesday.

tinker316 · 23/06/2011 15:19

Do we do weekly weigh ins??

itsnicetobenice · 23/06/2011 15:56
