hi all.

I've been falling behind on the thread too but i still read a few posts when i can.

weighed myself on the Wii today. I've lost something less than a pound in the last couple of weeks, happy enough that it's going in the right direction though, even if it's slowly!

SilveryMoon · 29/05/2011 17:23

Stick with it jaggy That's great Smile
FAB I was also thinking one evening a week would be ok for a big slip. I'm gonna make mine either a friday or a sunday, am undecided atm.

Good day today, a bit of toast for breakfast, a few glasses of water, and have jut had a yogurt as am slightly peckish but am looking forward to a pizza later.

TheOriginalFAB · 29/05/2011 17:30

Just reread my post. I am drunk.

SilveryMoon · 29/05/2011 17:51

Seem to have slipped off the wagon a bit today - not actually eaten huge amounts but what I have had has been crap in the main. Oh well back on it tomorrow and I will endeavour not to finish the jelly babies before bed!

BsshBossh · 29/05/2011 21:26

flo, you've "not actually eaten huge amounts" - well, that's a huge enough achievement; I bet that would not have happened had you fallen off the wagon pre-Pauling (?) so pat on the back and tomorrow is another day (or better still, the next hour is a better hour) Smile.

MuffinsMummy · 29/05/2011 21:43

I have just over eaten at pizza hut but still eat less than I would have before. I ordered the trio of cheesecakes but only managed to eat 1 1/2 where as I normally would have stuffed the lot in and felt sick so progress.

This is the first major slip up since I started 6 weeks ago. I can weigh tomorrow will it be worse because of today?

I have got the 30 day shred DVD but can't find the remote for the DVD player grrrr!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 29/05/2011 22:24

We went out for our meal, and I ate much less than I normally would! I really wanted a dessert, but didn't want to be tempted to eat a whole big portion, so I asked them to bring me a third-sized portion - which I ate and really enjoyed :)

SoloIsAHotCougar · 29/05/2011 23:34

pp oh yeah! he really is a sexy, charismatic man.
There is something about him alright! Grin

Keep going ladies. MuffinsMummy will you be despondent if you have lost little? if so, why don't you leave weighing in until Thursday? give yourself a few extra days in which to get back on yer wagon?

flo, you sound like you are doing well :) as is everyone on here! aren't we all doing really well?! :) we are the best thread on MN as far as I'm concerned!

solo I would have been happy if I had just lost a pound as it is still going in the right direction.

I have just weighed myself and have lost 3 1/4 pounds in the last 2 weeks which means I have now lost 8 3/4 pounds since I started 6 weeks ago. I now weigh 10st 12 1/4lbs! I can't remember when I last weighed this much :)

Does anyone else feel a bit :( when people object to this way of eating without even really listening to what it envolves? The 2 people that I have mentioned it to and got that reaction both came up with reactions like "oh I couldn't eat my food that slowly" or "I couldn't do it I like my food piping hot".

It's a shame as both could do with losing weight for medical reasons

GreenToes · 30/05/2011 10:43

MuffinsMummy I've found that the people who have been most funny about it are people who have tried or are currently trying much stricter diets, with little success. I guess it's because this sounds so easy to do in comparison so they are defensive because they've invested so much effort/time/money in a different method and it hasn't worked. Or maybe just because it really does sound too good to be true, even though we know it's not. Congratulations on your weight loss :)

Last night I didn't eat dinner at all. I had been waiting until I was hungry, having overeaten a little during the day, and then when I was dropping off to sleep I suddenly realised I hadn't actually had dinner in the end as I never did feel hungry enough. That would never have happened before so I'm quite pleased :) I'm a bit hungrier this morning but I've been eating much smaller portions rather than having one big thing, it's definitely helping me work out whether I'm still hungry

PositiveAttitude · 30/05/2011 10:44

Well done Muffins. Grin I was truly a skeptic before I started. I think some people just need to give it a go and see what actually happens, but its not easy to persuade people. Perhaps if they see good results with you they would be interested.

Weight day for me, too. Week 6 for me too, (I didnt realise we started together muffins) I have lost another 4lb, so that's 1stone 4lb together. Grin (loads more to lose than you Muffins ) I am pleased and I do feel so much more positive about myself, about my body and about my feelings around food. I have gained so much more doing this than just the weight loss. Smile

SilveryMoon · 30/05/2011 11:13

I told a friend of mine about this as she was on quite a strict diet.
She posted on fb last night that this wasn't working so she's gonna try ome kind of tablets for weight loss! Shock Sad
Really hope she doesn't.

My best friend said that it was all well and good, but the only problem is that lunch time is lunch time.
I told her I wasn't hungry so wasn't going to have anything and she said I'm starving myself.
She couldn't quite grasp the not needing food is your stomach isn't asking for it!

ppeatfruit · 30/05/2011 13:55

P.M. says about bad or good habits being 'as strong as steel' ref. yr friend silvery so many people find change threatening don't they? But will take tablets how daft is that??!!!

ppeatfruit · 30/05/2011 13:59

Solo i can't remember who it was but a poster was saying how the C.D.s made her think about sex well there you go Paul !!!!

MuffinsMummy · 30/05/2011 19:21

Someone at work said they were on a diet a few weeks ago I can't remember the name but your allowed to eat meat, cottage cheese, eggs and a couple of other things I was really Shock when she told me. She has now said she is just doing some of the stuff I have mentioned like giving herself smaller portions and eating slowly so she can tell when she is full. Much more sensible :)

positive I am only 5' 3" so being 11st 7lbs had me not far off odese according to BMI!

Tommy · 30/05/2011 20:28

think I'm going to have to leave the thread for a while.... probably got gall stones Sad
GP told me to lay off the butter, cheese, chocolate, cakes, biscuits, pastry (fat basically) and alcohol Shock

at least I should lose some weight...Sad

good luck all of you x

Niecie · 30/05/2011 20:39

I know it is often remarked that larger ladies have legs like tree trunks but I didn't think they meant literally like tree trunks but it would seem so because today a dog wee'd up my leg. That will teach me to wear brown jeans. Not sure whether to be Sad or Grin!

We went to a country show at Highclere Castle today. Loads and loads of dogs on leads. DS2 was in his element, DS1 moaned about the rain and I didn't have a sausage bap because I wasn't hungry (and because they cost £4 and DH was muttering about the prices). I had a hot chocolate half an hour later and that saw me through until we got home, mid afternoon. Then I had toast and I haven't had any tea due to the late 'lunch'. Surprisingly, neither of the boys appeared to notice and when I said I wasn't hungry DH said don't bother to have tea so I didn't. We shall see if/when hunger strikes!

Muffin - well done on your loss. Smile

Niecie · 30/05/2011 20:40

Oh Tommy that is bad news. I hope things get sorted soon and you feel better and are able to come back. Smile

shrinkingnora · 30/05/2011 20:41

Nooooo Tommy! I have done this in conjunction with the gallstones restrictions and I felt fantastic and lost shitloads of weight. Are you having your gallbladder removed?

Tommy · 30/05/2011 20:44

not sure yet - have to see my GP tomorrow.
Shrinkingnora - how can I "eat what you really want" when everything I want is on banned list?!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 30/05/2011 20:51

Tommy - :( hope you are better soon.

Niecie - I think you must live not far from me, we are about 20 mins from Highclere!
I think dogs will wee up anything, I wouldn't take it as a comment on your legs Grin

Today has been mixed. Breakfast and lunch went well, and then we were out this afternoon and I got too hungry. By the time I ate I was tired and ravenous and ate faaar too much. Although I am full now, but not stuffed or bloated or anything.
Trying not to eat anything else now this evening, and then start again in the morning.

jaggythistle · 30/05/2011 20:53

has anyone else inadvertently enticed someone in real life to buy the book? a workmate ended up buying it last week as she caught me in a good mood having fitted back into my work trousers so i was kind of raving about it! Blush

i just get all excited about how simple it is, no counting anything or denying yourself anything and i feel even if i am not perfect at it i still get some success.

I'm dying to find out how she's getting on with it. :)

Niecie · 30/05/2011 20:55

Alibaba - I live in the biggish town nearby beginning with B. As we are about 30 minutes away I am guessing you live between B and Highclere.

I am dying to know why somebody is using said town as a user name. Could it be there is another MNer in the vicinity!? A very rare thing indeed.Grin

shrinkingnora · 30/05/2011 20:55

Tommy - I found that I could tolerate some fat but it is different for everyone. And because I was eating so much less of everything and my body was craving fresh healthy stuff it seemed to work ok.
