The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONCIOUSLY
  4. STOP when you are satisfied

I've C&P'd part 4's links as they are helpful.

Here is the book on AMAZON which is all you need to get started!

Good luck for tomorrow solo you seem to be doing really well so I'm sure you will be fine :)

PositiveAttitude · 31/05/2011 07:14

Morning ladies.

I am already at work, although MN is my first port of call! Blush
Thanks Solo and good luck for today.

Tommy sorry to hear you are suffering. Everything I used to eat was on your banned list, but as this PM has gone along I have found that I want less and less of the fatty things and more fruit veg and good stuff. I am sure it would work doing the 2 alongside each other. I hope you get it sorted soon.

W2S - we've all had bad times, but dont give up. Have a read through this thread and be encouraged.
Right, better get to actually doing some work. Smile

SilveryMoon · 31/05/2011 07:53

Morning.
Tommy I'm so sorry to hear you are unwell. Hope you recover soon, keep us updated.
W2S, PA is right, we have all slipped up and fallen off at times, but do manage to get back to it. It might be by the next meal or it might take a few days.
Changing the habit of a lifetime will not happen instantly, you are allowed to slip up.
Next time you have something to eat, put the food/fork down between mouthfulls, chew the food at least 20 times and really try to focus on the flavour and texture, stop eating when you feel that even nothingness in your stomach.
if you are doubting your hunger signals, watch the clip at the start of this thread.
Or have a glass of water and see what happens after that, then if you think you really are hungry, eat, just eat it well.
You'll be fine. Chin up Smile
PA You're keen, at work at 7:15am Shock

PositiveAttitude · 31/05/2011 08:19

Silvery - Keen to get home and have the rest of the day with the DCs Wink

Tommy · 31/05/2011 12:06

thanks all - stepped on the scales this morning and have lost 4lbs since my last weigh in! I'm thinking that this new regime can't do me any harm and I'm slightly nervous of over eating/eating when I'm not hungry anyway so I'm sure I can use it to my benefit!

ppeatfruit · 31/05/2011 13:12

Brill news SOLOANDTOMMY Muffins P.M. says No Pain NO PAIN!! if it hurts don't do it try dancing, power walking, cycling etc. we all different and some can't cope with shred - like exercise;Me for example!!

BsshBossh · 31/05/2011 13:21

Fantastic losses everyone!

Lisatheonewhoeatsdrytoast · 31/05/2011 14:07

Can i join please?!

I'm trying to shift a bit of weight, i have severe fibromyalgia and functional weakness so exercise isn't really a huge option for me, except from the "odd" walk with buggy or light gardening! I like to eat, and in particular choccy!! Hmm I though't i'd give the paul mckenna a go?! I need to lose about 10lb?!

Lisatheonewhoeatsdrytoast · 31/05/2011 14:10

oh and i'm not sure what to buy on amazon/play.com?! I'm on a VERY tight budget this month, so which Paul Mckenna should i get?!

SilveryMoon · 31/05/2011 15:15

Solo That's great!!!!! Well done Grin
Tommy you too Grin fab.

Welcome Lisa Smile
I've got this copy, but found it in a charity shop for £3.75
I have lost 9lbs in 4 weeks, and I've not been doing very well with the rules, so shows it can still work even if you frequently slip up! (think of how much I could have lost if I wasn't so weak)

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 31/05/2011 17:51

Someone shoot me. I've just depressed myself reading a thread with loads of thin people (size 10/8) moaning about how fat they are.

SilveryMoon · 31/05/2011 17:56

Why are you reading those silly threads? You know they are all hoping for people to envy them of their oh so perfectly flat tummies!
Make this the only thread you read which has anything to do with weight/appearance/eating etc etc.
Silly sausage Wink

TheOriginalFAB · 31/05/2011 18:43

Hello all Smile.

Please can I come back after not posting on here for a bit? I have been following the plan for 99% of the time.

Someone needs to get ready with the trophy for the most stupid question ever asked as I am about to ask it.

Is it right/normal that the total amount of food I am eating is less and I actually want less since .llllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.,/ (FabCat wanted to type somethingGrin) starting PM plan? I am thinking more than once if I am really hungry, need to drink more water though as that has gone down though just been busy, and I am not eating by the clock or feeling guilty about the odd treat Grin.

Niecie · 31/05/2011 19:01

FAB you haven't been gone that long!! Nice to see you again though.

I would have thought it is perfectly normal to want less. You are stretching your stomach when you eat too much so by living the PM way, it has had a chance to shrink a bit and now it takes less to fill you up. The stomach is a a muscle so it can contract and loosen up like any muscle.

Solo well done! It won't be long until you are 12 stone something. Envy

Was it you who was aiming for 12st? You are nearly there!! Whoo hoo!!!

Alibaba - Don't be venturing onto other weight loss threads, stay here with us - they're all mad out there!! Mad, I tell you, maaaaad.

Lisatheone - welcome - feel free to join in any time - we are happy to have you.

TheOriginalFAB · 31/05/2011 19:15

Another daft question - when in one's cycle is it best to weigh yourself? Normally I am obsessed with weighing myself weekly (sometimes more than) but since starting this I have weighed myself only twice Shock. Partly I don't want too in case I haven't lost anything but some how it doesn't seem the be all and end all any more ShockShock.

SilveryMoon · 31/05/2011 19:27

If you're not bothered by it, don't do it FAB Just let your clothes tell you.
I have to weigh myself, i do it every saturday, but PM says if you have to do it, do it every other week.

TheOriginalFAB · 31/05/2011 19:55

I will wait until after my period has finished then. Thanks Smile.
