Not yet Olive, but soon I hope! nothing has occurred yet Wink, but I'm looking forward to it when it does.

JuicyOlive · 28/05/2011 10:50

Grin. And the anticipation can be so delicious

If we went with the risqué thread title, how about a disclaimer in the OP to reassure any Hmm newbies.

SoloIsAHotCougar · 28/05/2011 11:01

I thought he was married, or I'd have been more shameless and waited backstage for him after the seminar thought I'd heard him mention it, but entirely probable possible that my brain made that up. Grin

Shamelessly, I do like him and have for a long time, but he's a bit short for me; I like my men over 6 feet tall!

SoloIsAHotCougar · 28/05/2011 11:05

You are really taken by that possible thread title aren't you Olive?! Grin

How about...

We're Going Down On Paul McKenna Because Our Clothes/scales Say So

or

Let's just say I'm always up for a bit of double entendre.

Off out now. There was a road incident on Sunday (fatality) and I somehow managed to drive over a piece of the broken car and it has, it transpires punctured the side wall of one of my tyres :( my brother has managed to supply me with another, but I have to find the £20 to have it changed over.

BsshBossh · 28/05/2011 18:01

Solo, still not convinced, however I will go with the majority Smile. If I have to choose then I prefer the "We're going down on PaulMcKenna (Because our clothes & scales say so)" Grin.

Well, weekends in the BsshBossh household are always filled with food with DH, DD and friends/family around so more temptations around. We went out for lunch today and I ordered a burger and chunky fries. I ate what I wanted the most first, which were burger, bacon, tomato; didn't fancy the bread bun so ditched it; too full to eat more than a few fries; couldn't be bothered at all to clear up DD's plate of fries, chicken and sweetcorn; we all shared an ice cream but I could manage just a teaspoon (and I'm normally an ice cream fiend).

I felt satisfied and not full. Felt great.

But now I've eaten a few too many wasabi peas - so moreish. I need to convince DH todelay dinner tonight, I think, so I can eat when properly hungry. Am such a dolt!

onesandwichshort · 28/05/2011 19:01

I'm inclined to agree with Bssh, the thread title isn't really my kind of thing either. And I don't think there's much point putting a disclaimer in the OP, as the title will stop quite a few people clicking on it in the first place (I don't think I would have, tbh).

I ate a sausage bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast today, it was delicious (I was hungry). Didn't need to eat again until 5.30....

Juicy, Mmmm Gazpacho. Must make some one of these days!

Ephiny · 28/05/2011 19:10

I thought the title was genius (if a bit gross as I don't like PMK that way), and think most people would find it funny, but can imagine some might find it a bit offensive or offputting, would be a shame if anyone was put off joining the thread.

The eating is going pretty well for me, it's amazing how little food I actually need to feel satisfied, compared to what I was in the habit of eating. Haven't had any snacks between meals today, which is absolutely unheard of for me - I just wasn't reallly hungry when I thought about it.

SilveryMoon · 28/05/2011 19:43

Evening ladies.
Re new thread title (although not sure why we're thinking of it just yet), I do think the suggestion was quite funny, but I do agree that it could keep people from joining.
I didn't join this thread for a long tie because I have never been too keen on PM (although now I am giving him a chance, I love him), and I think if I still hadn't joined, if I saw that title, I'd ski past the thread.
Although it is funny, and we can have our in-thread jokes like 'going down' or 'being nice to yourself' hehehehehe, I think it's best to keep these jokes to ourselves and leave the thread title as something less offensive/rude and more inviting and positive.
I don't mean to sound a bore, and I hope I haven't, I do like a rude joke just not sure a thread title is the place to do it.
Maybe someone could come up with something along the same lines, but maybe slightly more low-key?
I don't know, but now I'm here, I will be here no matter what the thread is called Grin

So, weighed myself today and somehow have managed to lose another 2lbs this week Shock, which brings it to 9lbs in 4 weeks!

Am def going to get back to takinbg this seriously now too. I am through with punishing myself by eating a shit load of crap, and through with punishing dp when he pisses me off by eating the biggest bar of chocolate I can find. Not sure how it punishes him, but hey. Confused

At meal times, I am eating the same amount as my 3 year old and am satisfied with that. Hoping that doesn't mean I am over-feeding my toddler Hmm

I just had a chocolate chip muffin and ate it the PM way. It was not nice.

Enough waffling from me, hope you're all ok

Niecie · 28/05/2011 20:38

Solo - It seems thread titles are like baby names - best not to mention them until the baby/thread has been born. I reckon none of us would have said anything bad once the thread was here!! Grin

For all the people that might be put off the thread by the title I reckon there would be some more who will come and have a look because of the thread title. Swings and roundabouts.

How about making it obvious what we are on about 'We're going down on Paul McKenna - losing weight the McKenna way' or words to that effect?

Just had chips for tea and very nice they were too. Now I am in hiding until the end of the bloody football match.

SoloIsAHotCougar · 29/05/2011 01:42

I was fine until later this evening when I got the munchies! tried not to indulge them too badly.

ObiWanKenobi · 29/05/2011 09:50

Oh dear. Drank too much last night so now just want to eat rubbish food all day long.

SilveryMoon · 29/05/2011 09:57

That's ok Obi Just eat it nice and slowly, and enjoy it, which you probably won't.....

ppeatfruit · 29/05/2011 10:09

thanks P.A.Niecle Solo i'm interested 'cos we don't get the tabloids in france He's fanciable and it's unusual for an older guy like that not to be in a long term relationship IMO Grin

SilveryMoon · 29/05/2011 10:10

PM is not fanciable! Wink

SilveryMoon · 29/05/2011 10:38

oooh oooh oooh
Just remembered, for those of us suffering with 'mouth' hunger, not physical hunger, I read that frozen grapes are good, and they can take just as long to eat as a boiled sweet.
So I'm thinking that when I really need/want something in my mouth (hehehe), I could just have a frozen grape.
That'd be ok wouldn't it?

SoloIsAHotCougar · 29/05/2011 12:35

He is too!!!

Frozen grapes are yummy, but are like sorbet, not boiled sweets, so don't unfortunately last long :(

OP posts:
Alibabaandthe80nappies · 29/05/2011 12:41

Silvery - I think that would be fine. My long term aim is to get over the mouth hunger thing altogether so that I can ignore it, distract myself or whatever. But limiting the damage when you get it is certainly a good start!

I was very proud of myself yesterday. We were out shopping, and normally that would mean all sorts of extra food and then probably a takeaway ordered in exhaustion once we got home - basically a huge calorie intake.
Yesterday I had a little breakfast because I wasn't that hungry, then a small lunch which I didn't quite finish. A snack midafternoon, and then we made a stirfry for dinner. And two squares of chocolate before bed.
I'm worrying much less about what I'm actually eating, so I don't usually list everything - but that was a huge breakthrough for me yesterday so I felt the need to document it!
We are off out for a meal later, so until then I am just going to eat until 'not hungry', rather than eat to 'full', so that I am properly hungry when we go out.

Niecie · 29/05/2011 13:55

I think PM looks alright but can't get over the tone of his voice on his CD which still annoys me, therefore not on the fanciable list imo but that's fine. Those of you who do fancy him have less competition and a fair crack of the whip. Wink

I bought some pear drops yesterday to deal with the mouth hunger thing. Haven't had boiled sweets for ages. When we were first married and both studying of an evening DH and I used to keep a jar of boiled sweets on our desks to avoid absent minded eating whilst working. Chocolate was purely a weekend indulgence. It worked too. The good thing about pear drops, as opposed to your common or garden boiled sweet is that being coated with sugar makes them rough to suck and if you have too many your mouth gets sore. Excellent intake control mechanism.Grin

Just off to make cottage pie. As usual the morning has been fine but I predict things going down hill this afternoon. I can see the crash coming but I just can't get out of the way, so to speak. Damn those weekend munchies.

shrinkingnora · 29/05/2011 14:46

Can you keep your hands busy, niecie? Like giving up smoking - if you are gardening or washing up or doing something that means you can't eat it might just get you through the barrier!

shrinkingnora · 29/05/2011 14:53

I've been away for the weekend and can report a couple of really good choices - ate what I wanted eg salad for dinner on friday as really fancied some greens and had fruit salad on way home when the rest of the family had burger king because I wasn't that hungry. Didn;t eat pudding at the wedding because I wasn't hungry (didn't even finish my main course). Some of it went wrong though but I am sometimes stopping eating available food without really noticing. This is a huge thing for me!

ppeatfruit · 29/05/2011 16:15

Fab news shrinking and silvery you are sounding like a long term paulie now!! if you don't think he's fanciable you haven't seen him live ,he's sexy and has charisma hasn't he solo?

TheOriginalFAB · 29/05/2011 16:29

Hello every one.

I have decided that one evening off is fine and that was last night. I gave myself permission for a snickers ice cream when I wasn't hungry but I really enjoyed it.

I have had some wine and am not drunk.

not supposed to drink on my meds and always forget but then I am on them for life so what am I meant to do?
