Somebody, actually this afternoon I overate chocolate - overate by my current standards, but not by my pre-Pauling standards. My stomach is aching really badly and I feel so bloated. Urgh. So, yes, concrete evidence that in 12 weeks of Pauling my stomach is no longer accustomed to my previous portions.

Not posting much today as feeling really unwell, but wanted to say hello.
Last night when I couldn't sleep, I went and made myself a pot of tea and decided to have a small piece of Dd's Easter egg and... IT. WAS. DISGUSTING! REALLY.

Stop weighing yourselves flo and somebodynew (you'll soon be able to change your names to FLOating (you get the idea) and SomeNewBody! ) I found that I started losing the weight after I started amiring myself each morning, which was very weird. I just started off with a half hearted and unconvincing 'nice tits' kinda remark (which is totally not the way I speak btw) and it started working and now it's more 'looking good' or 'slimmer waist solo...' Try it ladies.

Solo - sorry to hear you aren't well.

To those of you who aren't sure, this system definitely works. I did it a few years ago and went from an 18 to a 12. Took a while but didn't feel like a diet and was easy. I stayed that way for a long time but unfortunately when I became pregnant and couldn't visualise myself as a thin person so stopped following the rules. Now DD is 7 months I'm on my way back to being a 12 again. I'm not losing weight quickly or seeing much difference in my clothes yet (but I often break the rules) but I know I'm getting there. This does work!

SomebodyNew · 24/05/2011 18:34

Thank you everyone, I think you all just saved me from having a hot cross bun while DS1 had his tea! I like the idea of SomeNewBody Solo, hope you feel better soon :) I have been a bit halfhearted about the mirror exercises so need to make an effort there.

What has shocked me is the ferocious emotional eating that really has nothing to do with real hunger. I knew I was doing it but hadn't realised how powerful it was. I think I thought it was because I was a little bit hungry and was then overeating, actually I don't think I am really hungry at all at those times!

TheOriginalFAB · 24/05/2011 19:38

Found you! Grin

I feel I am not doing so well at the moment.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 24/05/2011 20:12

Evening everyone :)

I have lost my way a bit the last few days. We just seem to have been so busy, I am struggling to find the time to listen to the CD, plan food properly, eat slowly or anything.
DH has been interviewing for new jobs which I always find very stressful because I can't do anything to help him or influence the outcome (control freak alert!). But, he has now been offered a fantastic position so hopefully I will have a bit more 'head-space' to deal with my eating.

SilveryMoon · 24/05/2011 21:32

Evening all
solo hope you feel better soon.

Another dodgy day here. Sad
Really got to get back on it properly.
The first week was really good for me and now I'm fading.
I really need to remember why I'm doing this.
To feel better in my own body.
To be confident about myself.
To gain control of my life.

blimey · 24/05/2011 22:25

fab alibaba and silvery hope you all get back on track - tomorrow is another day! each mistake is a chance to learn and understand ourselves better...

SoloIsAHotCougar · 25/05/2011 00:11

Thank you all for the wishes. My chest is sore from all the coughing and I'm shattered and painful, but I'm staying Paul focussed which is great!
I tried on my maxi dress from last June when I went to my cousins wedding and it does look so much better now:) this is working for me and I actually thought it would't, so please don't give in ladies.

Morning! Smile

I am Shock. I have lost 2lbs since I last weighed myself Grin.

This morning I am in a lot of pain and my throat feels like it has razors in when I swallow so I am thinking I might not eat much today.

TheOriginalFAB · 25/05/2011 07:49

Solo - well done and I hope you feel better soon.

SilveryMoon · 25/05/2011 08:09

2lbs is great FAB Well done Grin

ppeatfruit · 25/05/2011 08:19

A weird thing happened yesterday, Id had an early brek and then walked 40 mins to village on the way back i picked some luscious dark red cherries from our tree and my stomach felt like it said 'you are not hungry'..

ppeatfruit · 25/05/2011 08:23

...I couldn't eat them at that moment so i put in a pretty bowl and ate them when i felt hungry 20 mins later!! There's a feeling you get from yr. gut it's amazing but it takes time to get there after a blip.

ppeatfruit · 25/05/2011 08:30

Theoriginal I find gargling with t tree oil in water and eating plenty of fruit especially lemon juice in warm water will help with nasty throats.Welcome all newpaulies you're in the right place!! Smile

BsshBossh · 25/05/2011 08:59

All of those who feel that they are slipping up (as I did yesterday): go back to the very basics today - do not eat at all until your stomach feels genuinely empty and then only eat a little bit, telling yourself you can eat later if the hunger continues. A day of this should get you back on track. For me it's getting back to the empty-tummy feeling which reminds me then what hunger feels like.

SilveryMoon · 25/05/2011 09:35

Thanks Bssh That's what I planned to do today. Have not had anything yet and am feeling a bit 'am I/aren't I?'
Not sure of my stomach wants food or my mouth does iyswim Hmm

BsshBossh · 25/05/2011 09:40

I think if you're unsure and thinking "am I/aren't I?" then you're not physically hungry. The stomach is a physical organ that will be unequivocal in its demand for food when it is empty.

It's our minds that confuse us.

As for mouth hunger - well I know all about that. If I can't ignore mouth hunger then I simply make myself a cup of strong coffee or hot chocolate or something tasty but liquidy/not very filling. Seems to do the trick.

TheOriginalFAB · 25/05/2011 10:30

Thank you ppeatfruit. I will try that later. When I feel hungry Smile

BsshBossh · 25/05/2011 12:48

Well, after yesterday's chocolate fiasco (basically I overate it) I let myself become properly hungry today before I ate anything. This meant I skipped breakfast and wasn't properly hungry until 12.15pm precisely when I had some toast and some leftover Spanish tortilla. It's amazing how good food tastes when you are properly hungry for it. Seriously. I'm hoping I can wait until true hunger shows its face again - hopefully not until dinnertime.

florencerusty · 25/05/2011 13:32

Not sure I am having the best of days. Was hungry for brekki so had granola - that was fine. Then seemed to get overhungry and had a cake :( and now have just eaten 2 rolls for lunch. I only made one at first and decided it wasnt enough - have left a bit and feel satisfied rather than stuffed but I am a bit panicky about it.

On a brighter note and we wont quite give Paul the credit as its not even been a week yet but going to an event I went to last year next month and wore a size 20 dress - have been and bought the dress for this year in a size 16 :)

Niecie · 25/05/2011 14:04

Yay! Go Florence!! That is really great. Have you bought a new frock to mark the occasion? You deserve one.Smile

I could do with some big success like that. Getting a bit jaded thinking about food and and what whether I am hungry or bored or thirsty. I need a kick up the backside really.

Of course it might be part of my general peed-offness since my car needs a new power steering pump or it won't go and that is going to cost £500. Shock

It's enough to put you off your lunch which is probably just as well as I won't be able to afford to eat for a month!

Niecie · 25/05/2011 14:06

Sorry flo - you said you have bought a dress so me asking if you were going to buy one just shows I can't read properly. Blush

PositiveAttitude · 25/05/2011 17:50

Well done FAB and Flo. Smile

What has Paul done to me!! DD3 is chronically ill and today was the first time for many weeks that she felt well enough to go to a cafe so I took her to her favourite one for a treat. We chose a cake and a drink. They had my favourite chocolate mousse cake. This place costs a fortune, but cakes are soooo lush its lovely for a treat. After the first mouthful I just though "yuck". It was so rich and sweet and I just had to leave most of it! I would never have done that 6 weeks ago. I would have scoffed the lot and not wanted to waste any. Blush I wont be repeating that expensive exercise again!

Now not hungry at all, so i will wait and see what, if anything, I want later.

DottyDot · 25/05/2011 18:36

Blimey it's a busy old thread!! Not a great week or so for me but a very positive day - first I had my annual Coeliac check up at hospital and the nurse (who I also know from the school run!) said she didn't recognise me and that I'd lost loads of weight - bless, it wasn't really loads but I weigh less than I did last year, so that's a start...! Grin Also my cholesterol's come down, which is very odd - very pleasing graph showing a steady decline, so gold stars all round.

Second, I listened to the CD for the first time on the bus on the way into work this morning - after giggling through the first bit where PM seems to be trying to sound like an advert voiceover for beer or something, I got really drifty and it was quite amazing - am going to try it again tonight in bed as I kept having to keep myself awake to get off the bus Blush

So, back on the PM wagon I think....
