Marriage isn't a word, it's a sentence Wink

Congratulations Nora! Smile

All good here, run and pilates squeezed in. Also multiple corneal abrasions - it's so windy! It's all starting to feel quite natural now so fingers crossed we can all keep it going.

ObiWanKenobi · 23/05/2011 21:33

Congrats Nora and great news on the exercise knave!

SilveryMoon · 23/05/2011 22:05

Congrats nora Grin

Tommy · 23/05/2011 22:41

snap Nora! we also celebrated 10 years on Saturday Smile

Feel quite good about today - listened to CD and wrote everything down. Had a curry for dinner and served myself a small portion.

I am feeling positive - just need to "move my body" a bit more

Hello, just a quick post before sleep.

Re chest pain/indigestion; I don't eat or drink anything really acidic, so unlikely to be that.

I won't be taking another Tramadol and I have a suspicion that they were what caused the pain tbh as I haven't had any since it went (now the night before last). Hopefully I won't get it again.

Had a really good day. Saw my friend that went to the seminar with me and she kinda went Shock when she saw me which was nice; I think it's 2 months since we met up, so she obviously noticed the difference. She's not doing the system anymore, but I'm hoping that seeing my progress might encourage her to try again.

Hopefully chat tomorrow. Night.

Hello everyone, I am still here, just can't keep up with the thread. Still plugging away, changing my eating, but not seeing too much results yet. Sigh. But I'm not giving up, not till I get all the way to the end of the 90 day journal!

Congrats on the anniversaries Nora and Tommy!

SilveryMoon · 24/05/2011 07:23

Congrats to you too Tommy

ppeatfruit · 24/05/2011 07:44

SilveryMoon · 24/05/2011 07:54

A bit all over the place really pea I'm finding it quite hard to not eat if I'm not hungry.

Tommy · 24/05/2011 08:14

thanks all!
had bowl of cereal for brekkie with some more berries - think I may have had a bit too much though..... will know for tomorrow!
Going out for lunch with a couple of friends - one of whom always eats far too quickly and we always natter a lot so I'll have to be very careful!!

caramelwaffle · 24/05/2011 09:51

Hi ladies, Smile

Neverputasock (weird name! Grin ) I am here for the long haul, too and have a similar goal. I am looking to at least a year of substantial loss to get me somewhere. Lets hold hands together! Grin

For the first time since doing this PM thing, I have had a bit of a problem thinking about what I wanted this morning. I felt hungry, but really didnt fancy any of my normal breakfast things, so ended up not having anything. I have had a drink and am sat in my office now with my bottle of water. I am not sure if perhaps i am not hungry enough to know what I want, so I will keep drinking until I know for sure. I have a nice lunch in my bag for when i want that, and I am remembering what lookgood said about not worrying about being hungry - I know I wont starve!!

I am even looking forward to my swim tonight, rather than dreading it, which I have done every other week. Great step for me!!

Have a good day everyone. Smile

GreenToes · 24/05/2011 11:28

SilveryMoon I too am finding it hard not to eat when I'm hungry - I know it's emotional eating and that I don't want to but I find it hard to make myself think about it. When I do the tapping it does sort of work but sometimes I feel like I don't want it to work. I have found that if I brush my teeth after each meal I'm not tempted to snack if I'm not hungry - could you try that? :)

SilveryMoon · 24/05/2011 11:40

Yeah maybe GreenToes. I'm just finding that when I know I'm not hungry, it's hard not to eat the food that I know is in the cupboards and if I think, oh, I'll just have 1 biscuit, then my mouth needs another, the more I eat, the more I want.

GreenToes · 24/05/2011 11:56

SilveryMoon that's exactly my problem. I stocked up on nice foods as it says in the book and now I want to eat them all! I guess at least we recognise that we're not physically hungry so we're a step closer to dealing with it... :)

BsshBossh · 24/05/2011 12:13

It's mouth hunger, for me. I love food and eat, not for emotional reasons (generally) but because I simply love food. DH (who's not overweight) and I are foodies and eat out alot and cook lots and we pore over cookbooks. I have to be very conscious when I start salivating over something because it looks delicious. It takes alot of self control for me to say, "Wait, I'm not hungry, I can have it later." It's hard, but this re-training the PMcK way is going to take time.

florencerusty · 24/05/2011 13:07

Can I ask what the journal consists of please? Just ate lunch prhaps not as consciously as I could have as was reading too - but havent managed it all. I am finding the not eating when you arent hungry a real revelation! However can't quite stay away from the scales

SomebodyNew · 24/05/2011 14:39

Hello everyone, I think I need some (well I definitely do) reassurance. I've been enjoying the process most of the time and felt like I was doing quite well. Unfortunately (and I know I shouldn't have according to Paul!) I weighed myself. I'm coming up to a week of doing this and haven't lost anything at all. Is this typical or might it not work for me?

I think I'm following it properly. I'm still learning when I'm really hungry vs. emotionally hungry and making sure I stop when I'm full (don't have much of a signal that I'm noticing so sort of guessing there at the moment).

Tommy · 24/05/2011 15:12

it should work for everyone - just commonsense really but I would say that you do need a couple of weeks to start of with before you can see a difference which is very different from most diets like WW or SW where you usually lose alot in the first week.

Anyone else fnding that cafe sandwiches are far too big?!
Chose the smallest one in Pret today but ate all of it (it was so yummy..... Blush) and really it was too much. Think next time I will have to eat half and then bring the other half home for later.....

SomebodyNew · 24/05/2011 15:49

I think I do need to hang in there, but it's hard as this is the bit where I normally go 'oh sod it' on a diet and eat way too much! I'm hoping I get the stomach shrinking thing something soon so I get full up signals more obviously. Has anyone had that happen?

DingDongMerrilyOutOfSeason · 24/05/2011 15:56

Thanks Solo

Have missed everyone this past week, internet has been playing up so have been offline for ages! Keeping on track, dinner with friends Fri night and spoke to host beforehand and asked for small portions, that way I could finish most of what was on my plate and not feel rude!

Weigh in Thurs, looking forward to it as definitely feeling lighter.

Keep positive Smile

BsshBossh · 24/05/2011 15:58

Yes. My stomach has definitely shrunk because I feel sick now if I slip up and have the portion sizes I used to eat. I definitely feel fuller sooner nowadays (doesn't mean I don't slip up still, but I suffer more for it).

SomebodyNew · 24/05/2011 16:32

That's good to know, thank you! Hopefully that will happen soon for me too.

PositiveAttitude · 24/05/2011 16:49

Me too Somebody. I am surprised how i feel now if i over do it even if just a little. I am eating so much less than I was, but feeling satisfied. Before i started this i never felt hunger and it would take me loads to feel full. Blush
As time goes on you will feel more "in tune" with it all and more able to recognise hunger/satisfaction. Keep going, its brilliant!!

GreenToes · 24/05/2011 17:03

SomebodyNew I've been doing this a month and only this past week noticed that I've shrunk ever so slightly. I know it's hard at first when you're not losing anything, but do try to stay positive and remember how much progress you have made by following the rules. I see the first few weeks as being a bit of an investment for the future because hopefully the changes I have made will now help me to stay the size I want for the rest of my life, rather than a quick-fix diet where I lose lots in the first few weeks but then pile it all back on again :)
