  1. Eat what you WANT

ppeatfruit · 11/07/2011 09:43

MuffinsMummy · 11/07/2011 11:49

Wish i could go to meet up but stuck down here in Devon :(

solo sending u lots of get well soon vibes!

Niecie · 11/07/2011 12:22

MM - you're in Devon? Envy

I would love to live in Devon. Best I can do is spend my holidays there. My mother is from Devon and we still have links there but no chance of moving now DH has started his own business here in Hampshire and DS1 is about to start secondary school so changing schools is not a great idea now. Sad

Sounds like you had a good evening last week with all those compliments.Smile

Solo - Do go to the CAB - it sounds like it would be worth it. Can you go to another town? I don't know if there are 'rules' about these things and whether that is allowed. I can't see why it shouldn't be allowed though.

MuffinsMummy · 11/07/2011 12:42

Niecie I live in Plymouth so not a lovely rural part of Devon it's pretty much the same as any other city except there are quite a few service men :) yes it was a good night, it included lots of drinking and lots of dancing. There is nothing like a good night out to boost your confidence! Grin

ppeatfruit · 11/07/2011 13:15

OriginalIt's pronounced Ekinaseaaa. it's fine with other meds. 'cos DH takes it with other stuff and he always feels better, as did one of his sceptical friends who only got better when taking echinacea after taking a load of prescription stuff.

SoloAgainItSeems · 11/07/2011 13:19

Pp I can do Weds pm. Haven't been near Redhill in 30 years, so not sure where it is...I've got a drop of diesel Hmm atm...I do know how to get to Westerham! is that near you?

I will have to see the CAB for certain. I need to see what is best for me and my Dc's. The biggest worry though is that at the moment I am at retirement age of 60 in my job. If I change to part time hours, I change my contract, which means they can change my retirement age to 65...I know that it might change anyway being Public sector and all that, but I really don't want to actively push it up by 5 years... Oh my God! why is life so bloody hard at times?!!! I was sooo looking forward to retiring at 60. I know that sounds selfish, but my job is very difficult and another 5 years at it feels like torture. Add to that no bloody help, support, companionship or love is around and..........feel very tearful right now.

SoloAgainItSeems · 11/07/2011 13:21

I would pronounce it Ekinaysha.

SoloAgainItSeems · 11/07/2011 13:23

Meant to say that I take it too (when I remember) and I only buy the cheap one from the £ shop when they have it or Asda as it's only £1 there too...I got my Mum taking it and she reckons that her Arthritic pain is better since!

SoloAgainItSeems · 11/07/2011 13:24
Niecie · 11/07/2011 13:28

MM - I quite like Plymouth although I know there are some not very nice bits and I have only been to the area around harbour and the Ho in recent years. A bit of sea can only be a good thing. It looks like there are some nice bits too, judging by the regular property porn houses for sale email I get, in anticpation of a change of circumstances. Grin

Niecie · 11/07/2011 13:34

Solo - have a ((((hug)))) too.Sad

It will get easier, if only because your DC will grow up and not need childcare. Not that any of us want to wish their childhoods away.

Are there many admin/management jobs in the prison service that you could move to as you get older?

Niecie · 11/07/2011 13:38

Dartmoor Prison is within commuting distance of Plymouth though Solo. Wink

Presumably transfers are a possibility? Smile

SoloAgainItSeems · 11/07/2011 14:00

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! another lost post! this is getting ridiculous!

In a nutshell:

No to admin.
TX possible, but hard.
Life sucks!

Thanks for (((hug))).

Niecie · 11/07/2011 14:45

I sympathise with losing things. Pain in the bum. I spent yesterday afternoon typing up the minutes of the governors meeting I went on Thursday because somebody needed them by yesterday evening. DS1 wanted to play on my desktop so I emailed myself the half finished doc to my clunky unreliable laptop. Finished typing, pressing save regularly. Closed the doc down to add it as an attachment to the email so I could send them on and the doc was nowhere to be found. Gone.

Spent this morning doing them again as I couldn't gather the enthusiasm to do them again last night. Had to grovel to the person who wanted them too.

Computers are wonderful things, aren't they but they seem to know when you are in a hurry or stressed and then they let the gremlins loose.

TheOriginalFAB · 11/07/2011 14:56

Thanks solo and ppeat.. Will try and go out tmw and get some. Off for a sleep now.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 11/07/2011 16:08

Right, I really am back this time Blush

SoloAgainItSeems · 11/07/2011 18:52

Yay! HowTo and welcome back.

ppeatfruit · 11/07/2011 20:45

OOOOh solo don't start me blubbing Sad I think Westerham is much farther west than i'm going to be on Wed. we're taking our car for service nr Portsmouth. then we drive up to Redhill and on to Streatham Also can't have you using up your diesel on a jolly!! So shall we leave the meeting till things are a bit easier for you?

The pronounciation of echinacea is obviously a personal thing! The orig take more than they say on the pack; when I'm going down with something i take 2 3 times a day and I have n't been ill for many years!!!

Hello howto Good to hear from you again! Smile How's it going?

SoloAgainItSeems · 12/07/2011 01:01

Hmmmm...just looked at Google maps and it's 34 miles each way for me :( so might be best to leave it for now .

ppeatfruit · 12/07/2011 08:14

Yes i think it's for the best solo Sad i'll be away from t'internet for a week (i don't have them little techie phone things!!) Just a plain old pre camera mobile! those new ones run out of charge so often IMO. So see all you Paulies in a week or so, keep at it!! Smile

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 12/07/2011 08:32

I keep having a good day, and then a bad day. I'm not putting any weight on but it isn't coming off either.

I am starting to panic about getting in the dress now. Shit.

SoloAgainItSeems · 12/07/2011 11:02

Take care pp and keep Pauling :)

Ali I'm much the same, but I've tried on every ball gown and long evening dress I own and can't fit into one of them; I'm panicking toooo! no money to buy a new gown...I can feel the credit card coming out :(
Tbh though, unless I lost another 3 to 4 stones, there is no way I'd get into the other dresses as they are all minute which is odd, as I can hardly remember being sooo tiny!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 12/07/2011 16:07

Solo what size are you atm? Just wondering if I have something I could lend you.

TheOriginalFAB · 12/07/2011 16:24

I am failing dismally. Can't get in the mindset. Saw my stomach when I had to show the GP and was so Blush and Sad as I know that I have got separated stomach muscles from having dc3, issues after a section and a re-suture and now nerve damage and pain from the shingles. I just want to cry. DS2 is ill too.
