Hiya all

joltek you might find that you don't lose huge amounts to begin with but as your body starts to adjust it comes off a bit quicker. Also with this plan it is more likely to stay off as it is changing your attentude to food rather than just a diet IYKWIM!

I feel a bit crappy today! Kind of hot and cold at the same time! I took my temp and it was a little raised so not going to work today. I still have to get up and drop DD1 and DD2 to playscheme / nursery! I will have DD3 with me all day as she has also been poorly so not a lot of rest for me :(

Oh well better get up and feed the little dears.

Sorry for the essay hope you all have a fab day Pauling!

Niecie · 02/06/2011 09:12

Taking the boys out today with my Mum and probably eating out which will be a test! Positive vibes welcomed!!

Joltek - Well done on your lb. Smile

Muffin- Hope you feel better soon. It's really not good, being ill with children around, isn't it?

FAB - don't worry about one day. If a lb can go on that easily it can come off that easily too. It probably is your period anyway - I am in the same boat this week and I know that I will be up a couple of lbs and next week down again, just because of that. Hope Siblings Without Rivalry is not an indication of child related tension in the FAB household and you have a calm day.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 02/06/2011 09:25

Morning everyone :)

Fab - don't worry, it will just be your period I'm sure. Hope everything is ok with your DCs.

Muffins - hope you are feeling better soon.

Niecie - good luck with the meal out, it is a bit of a minefield. We ate out at the weekend, and I didn't eat all of my main course, and asked for only a small portion of dessert rather than the standard size. I would never have done that in the past because I would have been thinking 'well I've paid for it so I should eat it'. Tbh I did still think that, but my health is more important than money.

TheOriginalFAB · 02/06/2011 09:31

Horrible night last night. Today has been better just from trying some of the SWR tips.

Good luck for today every one.

I haven't had anything to eat yet as not hungry but have made panna cotta for dessert later (and burned my arm).

MuffinsMummy · 02/06/2011 09:39

Thank you Niecie and Aliba.

Yesterday at work I had curly Cumberland sausage with mash and beans. The potion was huge and I was tempted to over eat as I didn't want to waste it! I remembered what someone said on here about the food being wasted when it was put on the plate and that really helped me to stop. I must have left about half Shock

SilveryMoon · 02/06/2011 09:44

I'm shopping with my mum today so will be eating out too. Tbh, I don't really bother too much if I'm eating out as I know I'm setting myself up to fail.
I do try though to put food down and eat slowly.

SoloIsAHotCougar · 02/06/2011 12:21

Definitely your period FAB. Happens to me too, but usually several pounds :( and that is of course, when my period arrives! didn't get one last month and my goodness, I miss them when they donn't appear! :(

Good luck everyone for today. You can all do it, you know you can :)

What chance do you have to lose weight if every four weeks you put weight on? Confused

chocolatemacadamias · 02/06/2011 12:49

Hi everyone

Thanks for the warm welcome a few pages back. I'm sorry you must all think im rude but I'm finding it hard to keep up with posting but am lurking when I can. Have had a mixed start but mostly finding i can stick to the rules so hope I can keep it up. I've been naughty and weighed twice since starting and have lost 8lbs -that seems to good to be true though so am not going to celebrate yet.

Hope all the half terms and shopping trips go well!

SoloIsAHotCougar · 02/06/2011 12:53

Well, it does come straight back off FAB ~ honest!

SoloIsAHotCougar · 02/06/2011 12:54

Chocolatemac, it's not too good to be true... believe it!!! and well done! :)

BsshBossh · 02/06/2011 12:57

Well done ChocMac.

TheOriginalFAB · 02/06/2011 12:59

But is it the same weight off and on?

SoloIsAHotCougar · 02/06/2011 13:06

Plus more FAB. It happens to me every period and I've still managed to lose 2 stones, so don't lose heart :)

OP posts:
SoloIsAHotCougar · 02/06/2011 13:09

Say you gain 2lbs because of your period; then your hormones sort themselves out and go back to normal (usually within a week IME) and that 2lbs goes off and if you've lost weight because of your Pauling, it'll show too even if it is a week later iyswim?

OP posts:
Alibabaandthe80nappies · 02/06/2011 13:17

FAB - when I used to do WW (I know, bear with me Grin) this used to happen. I would stay the same, or put a couple of pounds on the week before my period - and then the week after I would lose what I had put on, plus more.
You are still losing weight, losing fat, but your body just hangs onto some extra water around the time of your period which distorts things.
If it upsets you then can you skip weighing for a week before your period until it is over?

TheOriginalFAB · 02/06/2011 13:35

I have no idea why I weighed myself this morning as I wasn't planning too until after my period. If I wait until after my period how many days do I have to wait?

SoloIsAHotCougar · 02/06/2011 13:37

I would give it 2 or 3 if it were me.

OP posts:
TheOriginalFAB · 02/06/2011 13:39

Okay, I will wait until then. Thanks.

Niecie · 02/06/2011 17:07

I don't know if I am weird but I have short periods (4 days) and it isn't until about day 6 or 7 from the start of the period that the weight drops. I have short cycles too so maybe that is the problem. It goes up about 2 or 3 days before the start. I was weighing myself too much last month because I have been trying to see a pattern but I think I have it sussed now. Years of being on the Pill, then pregnant and then on the Mirena (now removed) have meant that it is a long time since I have had 'natural' periods and it is all a bit strange.

Anyway, been out, went to Pizza Express, had one of their light pizzas (they cut a hole out in the middle and stuff it with salad). It was chicken, spinch and mozarella with tabasco. When I had it before it blew my head off but it was a bit lame this time. Anyway, I didn't finish it all. Didn't have doughballs as the boys had the children's menu which comes with 4 doughballs each so no need to order any for me and my mum didn't want them. No desert as I never have room anyway. Water to drink. I reckon I did OK.

Felt the need for something sweet when I got home though but managed to kill that urge by eating one (yes, just one) Thorntons Toffi-Choc. Result. Fizzy flavoured water helps too - takes the edge of the munchies, the fizz fills you up and fruity flavour provides the sweetness.

Just got to get through tea and the evening!

Niecie · 02/06/2011 17:11

Oh and I have discovered a down side to losing weight -one of my favourite summer skirts is too big.Sad

It isn't easily alterable either - probably cost more for a profressional to do it than the whole skirt cost new.

I know losing weight is worth it but it still niggles that my clothes aren't shrinking with me!!

Ephiny · 02/06/2011 17:22

I have the same problem Niecie - actually have a nice skirt that I haven't been able to get into for ages, tried it on the other day only to find it's now too big!

I seem to be an awkward size at the moment where everything I have is either too big or too small, tempted to buy some new stuff for the summer but it's probably sensible to wait until my weight stabilises a bit...

SilveryMoon · 02/06/2011 19:50

Remember FAB 2lbs is quite a small amount! you could shift that down the loo Blush Wink

PositiveAttitude · 02/06/2011 20:23

Do any of you have "fat Days"? Today I feel fat. No reason. Any idea why?

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 02/06/2011 21:04

Niecie - it is annoying isn't it?

Ephiny - I am between sizes as well, and really limited in what I can wear atm especially as I'm BFing. It is so tempting to splash out on some new things, but I'm trying to hold off for a few more weeks until I am (hopefully) firmly in the lower size!
