OMG, I've just discovered Nairn's cheese oatcakes. Will these signal the end of my good eating habits? Blush.

shrinkingnora · 01/06/2011 13:43

I discovered those this week too - you're safe, they so bloody filling that you can't eat that many!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 01/06/2011 13:44

Hello everyone :)

Silvery congratulations on your new name! Grin

Bssh - step away from the oatcakes!! Wink

My clothes are looser today, and I am developing a waist! I go in and out in the proper way. Still much too big all over, but I'm definitely changing shape. I think a tummy tuck will be needed though to deal with my lovely c-section overhang Hmm

SoloIsAHotCougar · 01/06/2011 13:50

I am not losing anything more from my waist funnily enough. I lost 7" all in, but it's stuck at 31" and I'm a bit harrumph about that (probably because when I was a size 10/12 I had a 22" waist), I'm very classically hour glass figured and more in proportion than ever before...just hope that I can start dropping some inches from my waist all over.
Must say though, that I'm SOOOOOOOO pleased with my weight loss; I never ever thought I'd be saying 'I've lost 2 stones so far.' :)
Time for lunch...hmmmmmmm.

You had a 22" waist? That is absolutely tiny! Would probably be a size 0 these days, never mind 10/12! Your body shape does change over time though, I guess not many of us will be able to go back to exactly the same as we were, especially post-children...

I was doing OK over the weekend, though have been eating biscuits by the packet since being back at work due to stress (having to give a presentation, which I hate doing). It's over now though so hopefully can get back on track. Just wish I could find a better way of dealing with stress!

SoloIsAHotCougar · 01/06/2011 14:22

I know Ephiny, I was very blessed, but I always had a big bum!!!Wink my Mum had an 18" waist!!! incredible eh?

I managed three cheesy oatcakes but I can see that these could be my downfall. Boy are they delicious!

BsshBossh · 01/06/2011 14:34

The Ocado man's just been (with the Nairn's cheese oatcakes!) and he was Shock at the amount of wine we've ordered. He had a very good laugh when I said that it was my DD's 3rd birthday party this weekend. Hence the wine for all the adults Wink. Let's see how my PMcK eating (drinking) goes....

SilveryMoon · 01/06/2011 14:37

Hi all.
My clothes are a bit loser too. I'm wearing an outfit that I wore last week when asked if I wa pregnant, and from my boobs (E/F cup) it falls straight so that's nice.

Been practising my new signature, feels weird!

Had an apple for lunch which filled me right up Hmm Smile

ppeatfruit · 01/06/2011 15:09

Wow you're all doing SOO well Smile can you remember my amazing tummy exercise Solo? it would help you and Ali (save the tummy tuck!). I can't post more than 3 lines so bear with me........

Niecie · 01/06/2011 15:24

Solo, I think we might be the roughly the same shape. I too have/had a big bottom but a small waist. It used to be 23" at its best but I was never a size 10 due to my lardy bottom. My poor stomach always used to be so flat pre children - friends used to comment on it enviously (although they had bottoms and legs far better than mine so swings and roundabouts really - us women are never quite satisfied with our lot are we)?

Don't suppose it ever will be as flat again unless I take to spending 6 hours a day in the gym but I am not too worried. I am quite happy to be pear/hour glass shaped (depending on my weight) - it is healthier than being an apple, so they say. Smile

ppeatfruit · 01/06/2011 15:57

Okay here* is theamazingbellyexercise Lie flat. KEEPING YR HEAD IN LINE WITH SPINE raise from hips . THIS IS NOT A SIT UP EX. you will only rise 2 or 3 inches. Do twice a day and feel those muscles activate!

ppeatfruit · 01/06/2011 16:03

Sorry my star expertise needs some help! Belly exercise cont.... you can start with yr arms by yr. side and raise them over yr. head when you feel stronger it does work though!!

ppeatfruit · 01/06/2011 16:14

Oddly niecle i've got a more defined waist than i had when i was an 8 before DCs due to acupressure and the above exercise I was never an 23 inch waist! you're right we're never satisfied!!

florencerusty · 01/06/2011 19:49

Confused think I am struggling this week.

Firstly babyflo is fine now! 5 days after her fall she was using her arm and now she is back to her normal self - 1 week later! Amazing really.

Me though. Don't think I am eating lots but seem to be ever so hungry. Have eaten curry for tea, and did manage to leave a bit but could eat something else now! And probably ate my tea a bit fast really - but there was so much going on that consciously was hard! :( really don't want to fail

BsshBossh · 01/06/2011 20:07

I've now had to throw out the cheese oatcakes as I overate them Sad. They are banned from my house. I will wait until I am properly hungry to eat dinner tonight. I may not be able to eat it at all. This makes me Angry at myself because I cooked two lovely curries for dinner. Let this be a lesson to me...

SoloIsAHotCougar · 01/06/2011 20:24

I will try the flat tummy exercise :) thank you. I too had a flat stomach. In fact it was flat until 2 years ago when everything went to pot! now I have a bit of an apron going on ~ kind of a pouch of fat

Flo glad babyflo is doing so well :)
You will not fail...sounds like you need to recognise the real hungry signals again and drink more water...are you chewing at least 20 times? I'm finding that I'm chewing between 25 and even a massive 45 times per mouthful!!! I'm eating much, much less. Also, my Dd often gets tired of feeding herself and asks me to feed her. As much as I don't really want to, I find that I take even longer to feed myself, which can't be a bad thing...
Don't think about failure Flo and don't forget to admire yourself in the mirror too!

SoloIsAHotCougar · 01/06/2011 20:27

Niecie yes, we do don't we? and I'm reliably informed that fat bottomed girls make the rocking world go round! fat bottoms are much nicer than flat bottoms on a gal :)

PositiveAttitude · 01/06/2011 20:30

Flo, I am finding this week hard, too. DCs are off school. DS is a gangly 15 year old with hollow legs who eats all day long and will always offer me some of whatever he is munching on. he costs me a fortune when he is home all day!!
DD4 is bordering on the anorexic side and we have to be very careful around food with her. I find it really hard pauling when they are both around all day. Its so much easier when they are at school. Sad

PositiveAttitude · 01/06/2011 20:32

It took me over half an hour to post that because of my stupid internet!!

Niecie · 01/06/2011 20:51

I've said it before, school holidays are a bit of a disaster for losing weight for me. I can sympathise with you Positiveattitude. I seem to merrily lose weight in the term time and then put it back on in the hols. That is where I came unstuck last year. I lost 2st between Feb and July and then lost the plot in the summer hols, put a few pounds back on but more worryingly lost all my good habits too. How can 5 months of good work be undone in 5 weeks.?!

Been struggling ever since - up and down in line with the hols.Confused Don't dare weight myself these days and not sure I have embraced the Pauling wholeheartedly enough to take the plunge and brave the scales yet.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 01/06/2011 22:48

Thank you for sharing what you imagine. It is hard for me because I have never been slim as an adult so I don't have anywhere to get back to IYSWIM.

I think about being able to run after DS1 in the park, and being able to open my wardrobe and wear anything in it without worrying about how I will look.
I'm also imagining myself at my brother's wedding next spring, wearing something really lovely and stylish rather than something which hides enough of me.

TheOriginalFAB · 02/06/2011 07:59

Morning all!

Just taking a break from reading Siblings without rivalry to say I did rubbish yesterday and this morning I have put on the 2lb I lost. Period is due in 3 days so hopefully it was that and I will lose some weight. I feel today I haven't time to eat as I am going to try 100% to give the children all the attention they need and want.

Joltek · 02/06/2011 08:03

Hi all. I know just what you mean about how much harder it is to lose weight in the school hols. I am looking forward to getting the kids back as I know the pauling will get easier.

I've just weighed in ( doing it weekly as comparing with a friend) and have lost another pound this week so 5 in total over 3 weeks. I was hoping it would come off a little quicker if I'm honest but only cos I have a wedding to go to next month and want to be able to find something to wear but considering it's half term then a pound off is still good.

I am just off camping for a couple of days now which will be a bit of a test as tend to sit around shveling bags of crisps in the evening and lots of treat food around. I am really going to try and stick to the rules though. Hope you all have a good weekend. x

SilveryMoon · 02/06/2011 08:10

Morning all
FAB I have that book, some good stuff in there.
joltek Enjoy your camping weekend.
