Nearly fainted before. I looked down and could not see my stomach sticking out past my breasts. I was thinking no way can that be right so I had another look. Just a small amount showing Shock. I am also finding I am not hungry as many times a day as I used to think I was, when I was eating because I was bored, tired, sad, tired, lonely, tired, etc etc etc.

GreenToes · 02/06/2011 22:08

That's great FAB. I'm also at that time of the month and feeling a bit like a beached whale to be honest. Not helped by the fact that I went on a sympathetic binge with my flatmate who was having a bad day Hmm I knew I didn't want to and that it was making me feel crap but I wanted to cheer up my flatmate...grr I need to work on this.

shrinkingnora · 03/06/2011 10:15

Struggling a lot bit here but hey ho, still sure this is the best way to make permanent changes. Haven't had time to listen to the cd for two weeks though. Went out for dinner and had to stop eating my chocolate fondant as I was full. But really grossly overly full.

To those of you who are denying yourself new clothes while you wait to get slimmer can I just say that you need to wear things that fit you in order to look and feel your best. I understand that money can be tight but feeling good will speed you on down the path towards your goal. Totally worth it, I reckon. Start living now, don't wait for being skinny first. One life blah blah blah.....

Ephiny · 03/06/2011 13:42

I am finding the same thing FAB, about not being hungry so often. Before I would have said (and believed) that I was starving and desperate for my lunch at about 12:00 every day. But actually what I'm feeling at about 12 is a bit tired and fed up and needing a break - which I can get by going for a walk or stepping away from my desk for a cup of tea of something. Don't actually get the real 'stomach hunger' until a couple of hours later. Same goes for mid-afternoon snacks.

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 03/06/2011 13:54

nora - I find that I struggle if I haven't listened to the CD for a while. I must listen to it tonight, it will be 10 days since I listened before.
I took your advice on clothes and ordered myself a few new tops from Fat Face - which is an excellent shop if you are between sizes because their sizes are about half a size bigger than most other shops. I have ordered the same t-shirt as I'm wearing today but in a smaller size because I love it. That will really feel good :)

Does anyone else sometimes experience disappointment when you have planned a lovely snack or meal in anticipation of being hungry, and then find that you aren't?
Yesterday I had in mind that I would eat a scone for my evening snack, I always get hungry in the evening when I'm feeding DS2. Last night I didn't get hungry at all, but then I went ahead and ate the scone anyway because I felt 'cheated' or something.
Bizarre, and something that I need to prevent from happening again. Any thoughts or tips?

chocolatemacadamias · 03/06/2011 15:27

Struggling too here. I have been listening every night but have had difficult days with the DCs and the old stress/comfort eating has kicked back in a bit. I also have a really sore throat and feel pants so am feeling like I should be entitled to eat... It's so frustating as up til now I'd really thought it had clicked for me,was not feeling hungry much and satisfied with tiny amounts.

I feel so cross with myself as despite great early loss I am still huge and none of my clothes fit me,even my fattest of fat clothes. I had previously vowed not to spend another summer hiding inside with nothing to wear yet here I am again. Might have to be brave and take shrinkingnora's advice...

alibaba i'm just the same with my evening treat! No advice just sympathy-maybe someone wiser will be along with some tips.

Good luck for the weekend everyone.

shrinkingnora · 03/06/2011 15:51

I am doing a bit of idle reading to try and give myself more ammo against my issues. I came across this which although a little over simple actually says a couple of helpful things. I really like the idea of having a cooling off period and am sat here trying to think of positive coping tools.

TheOriginalFAB · 03/06/2011 16:00

I am fed up. I found a lovely top in M&S but it was only in an 18. Sometimes I would need an 18 as 16 was a bit borderline so I bought the 18. I have put it on 3 times and it is too big to wear comfortably. I am gutted as I know I would wear it a lot of it fitted. I can't take it back as I washed it [fed up]

shrinkingnora · 03/06/2011 16:06

Ebay it and buy the right size on their website? Being a 16 sounds good to me!!

shrinkingnora · 03/06/2011 16:06

I am fed up because I am punishment eating so much at the moment eg I am crap so will eat peanut butter from the jar to punish myself. Bad nora. etc

SoloIsAHotCougar · 03/06/2011 16:12

Oh dear ladies...I'm not doing great either, but also I'm not doing too badly ~ kind of inbetween if that makes sense? a bit like my size too atm. Not a 16, but not a 14 either...makes for very uncomfortable days...which should spur me (and you) on to enable us to get into the next size down, shouldn't it? We can do this my friends; we really can. I certainly can't afford anything new, so it's use what I have or go naked! Grin No way on earth!!!

TheOriginalFAB · 03/06/2011 16:27

Just spent ages looking for it on the M&S website so I could show you and it is not there. I am scared of ebay BlushHmm.

Niecie · 03/06/2011 16:28

shrinkingnora - I have similar problems with jars of peanut butter. I have some on toast and then have half the jar a few more mouthfuls straight from the jar. It isn't good.

Still, I find peanut butter fills me up well. And apparently people who eat a handful of nuts a day weigh on average less than those who eat none, despite their high calorific value. I take comfort from that. Grin

solo - Envy at your 14/16 dilemma. Just take a moment to consider that yourself, will you - you are very nearly a 14 and therefore that makes you less than the average British woman and you used to be considerably more than a size 14. Well done!!Grin

Too much negativity around here today. The sun is out, it is nearly the weekend, it could be worse. If you don't all buck up your ideas I might be forced to get my cheer leading pompoms out and start egging you all on -

"give us a P, give us an A, give us a U, give us an L, give us an I, give us, give us an N, give us a G. What have we got? Pauling!!! What does that make us? Smaller!!"

You really don't want that. You really, really don't. Grin

TheOriginalFAB · 03/06/2011 16:37

This is it.

Niecie · 03/06/2011 17:00

Lovely top FAB.

I wish I could wear something like that but sadly my bingo wings mean I doubt I ever will. Smile

Just wondering if you could adjust it in some way. Perhaps take it in along the seams or maybe add some ribbons and make a tie back to gather it in. I suppose it depends on where it is looking too big.

SoloIsAHotCougar · 03/06/2011 17:21

That's made me Grin Niecie! and thank you!!! I know I've done a great job so far, I really do and I know you all appreciate the effort involved etc...I seem to be a different shape now to when I was this weight before. I know that at this weight, I did fit into my 14 jeans with ease and comfort. Hey ho, onwards and upwards!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 03/06/2011 17:22

FAB - can you put a dart in under the arms?

TheOriginalFAB · 03/06/2011 17:44

It is too big nearly every where to be honest. I might try and alter it as I am not sure I would get much for it on ebay.

GreenToes · 03/06/2011 18:14

FAB Tumble dry it on the hot setting Grin I have to tumble dry all my clothes at the moment, as there's nowhere to hang them out and it shrinks them down so it's also solving my problem of having clothes that are slightly too big!

shrinkingnora thanks for posting that link, I'm having a bit of a stressful time at the moment and been comfort eating but that was just what I needed to spur me on to find some positive coping methods! :)

shrinkingnora · 03/06/2011 18:56

Greentoes - I found it quite inspring too. After posting the link I thought about how good I feel when I've done some tidying and sorting and decided I would do my 15 minutes of cooling off doing some housework and sorting some toys. An hour and a half later the house was tidier and supper was in the oven. It really made me feel lots better. I still ate too much at supper and feel very full but I ate a huge amount less than I would have done a few months ago and gorged on salad and drank loads of water so even though I feel really full it's made of good things. I will get there eventually!

Fab - that top is so pretty and cheery, I am very Envy as I am rubbish at wearing patterns and pretty stuff.

JuicyOlive · 03/06/2011 23:43

Just checking in - I've been lurking but not posting as I've been getting mixed results. But I'm still feeling more RELAXED around food which is the main thing. I think I need to give up the Wine for it to really work though.

BsshBossh · 04/06/2011 07:55

Morning everyone. My fortnightly weigh in rolled in this morning and I've lost 2lbs in 2 weeks bringing total loss to 35lbs since I started mindful/intuitive eating 14 weeks ago. I've slipped up many times this last fortnight so I should be happy with the 2lbs loss but am pissed off with myself that I could have lost a bit more had I been more vigilant with the rules. Still... at least the PMcK way is the most sustainable way of eating for me and definitely for the longterm. Today is another day Smile.

chocolatemacadamias · 04/06/2011 09:14

Congratulations BsshBosh that is an amazing total loss! Very inspiring-in fact I'm going to try hard today to get back in the zone! Well done!!

ppeatfruit · 04/06/2011 10:03

i like Pauling Grin Niecle! IMO it's for life so we're likely to have times when we're 'on it' and times when we slip it's normal!! we're only human!! Congrats to everyone for their losses Smile
