GettinTrimmer · 22/08/2011 08:54

I sts, but I am really pleased with that.

bebe well done on 1lb.

Just looking at the list we haven't seen quite a few slinks for a while, here's hoping they come back.

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/08/2011 09:40

well done bebe and yes trimmer a few have slunk away .....

GettinTrimmer · 22/08/2011 10:37

I'm not slinking away Blondes, I've not done so well on the weight loss for a while but if it wasn't for this thread I'd forget about it altogether and be back to where we started completely.

I've counted the number of weeks until xmas and I'd like to lose 1lb per week until then. It's got to go again.

smalline I'm thinking about you and the house offer, hope it's ok.

GettinTrimmer · 22/08/2011 10:38

Are you still counting your propoints Blondes?

Smalline · 22/08/2011 21:28

Offer was accepted todayGrin, I am so excited GrinGrin.

Smalline · 22/08/2011 21:30

Well done bebe for your loss, how is you cat by the way? and well done to you too trimmer for sts, it's so hard during the school holidaysSmile

prettybird · 22/08/2011 22:51

That's really good news smalline :) Any idea of timescales? In Scotland, a moving date would be normally be part of the offer - but that's cos the survey would already have been done so there is rarely no further negotiation to go through.

Blondes : if you private message me your address (either here or on fb) I'll send you some tablet next time I make a batch :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 22/08/2011 23:50

fab news about house :)

erm no im not really pp at the moment - trying to eat better but struggling at the moment over dh and heart isnt really in to dieting :(

plus last week at work this week so from thursday im gonna be a fat unemployed blonde :(

Smalline · 23/08/2011 08:49

Not sure of timescales pretty about 3-4 months I reckon so could be in for Christmas, that is if everything goes okay!!! Good idea having surveys done before an offer is made, shame that doesn't happen here. Anyway keeping my fingers and toes crossedGrin.

GettinTrimmer · 23/08/2011 09:19

pretty The Scottish system sounds much better than the English system and its uncertainties. I suppose if you get the survey done it normally goes through or it's money wasted, easier for everyone.

smalline glad to hear your good news

The lady next door to us is having major stresses, she's settled for £84,000 below original asking price and having the same strange queries we did about contaminated land and asked to pay for insurances. But my sister's sales have always gone through in 6 to 8 weeks with no complications.

blondes agree about eating healthily, are you sleeping a bit more?

prettybird · 23/08/2011 17:08

Most sales do go through - it is rare for a sale to fall thorugh once it has been accepted (although unfortunately, becoming slightly more common as elements of the English system creep in) so we don't suffer from the angst of chains.

The down side is doing multiple surveys (especially if a house is popular and goes to "closing" ie sealed bids) - I think we had surveys done on three different houses during the couple of years we were looking before putting in an offer on the house we're in (we did offer on another one but knew we wouldn't get it). In theory, the new housebuyers' pack means that you don't need to do your own survey - although personally, we have always done full surveys rather than just valuations. I've never been able to understand why you would offer to enter into a contract without first having got an expert to look at it. But I'd rather spond the money for the peace of mind on such a major and long term purchase.

The other plus side is that from offer to completion is usually only about six weeks. Mum & Dad couldn't understand, when I bought my first house in England, that the fact that it took 2 months was quick !

Blondeshavemorefun · 23/08/2011 23:23

trimmer tbh no :(

bebejones · 24/08/2011 15:59

Been doing so well last couple of days, but today has been shit & I feel like crap so we are having chips for dinner & I'm not going to apologise for it...but I will work extra especially hard to balance things out over the weekend! Promise!

:)

GettinTrimmer · 25/08/2011 09:58

bebe chips for dinner won't do any harm, there is unfortunately a very good chippie close to us!

blondes thinking of you especially today. You are talented and lovely, a new opportunity will come along.

Dismal weather here today, and not having a good week diet-wise. Smalline & Pretty I will pat myself on the back if I sts this week!

bebejones · 29/08/2011 07:33

Goodness me it is so quiet in here Slinks!!!

I have sts which actually I am quite pleased with after the shitty end to last week. Plus am awaiting an unwelcome guest & that always cocks things up a bit!! Wink

Speaking of unwelcome guests MIL is coming for lunch today, God alone knows what we are going to feed her, have about enough food & money to feed a church mouse! Hmm Plus she has been off her medication & changed it recently & it always worries me a bit having her around DD when she is like that! :(

GettinTrimmer · 29/08/2011 08:32

We've had 3 days away in London which has been bad news on the wi front.

Piste, hope you are OK? Saw the hurricane news Sad

Hope to see you all soon......a few of us are still doing the shred from 5th September?

Anyway I wi today and it is not good news. I gained 5lb this week. I put on weight very easily these days, I am convinced it is to do with hormones, I also keep waking up feeling very hot Hmm

I am also determined to get it off again and my latest idea is to join Slimmers' World.

bebe good luck with MIL today

Thanks Blondes & Bebe, that makes me feel a bit better Smile Well done to both of you for sts.

I may weigh in again tomorrow, sorry if tmi but have been to the loo a few times this morning, slightly upset tummy.

Foodfocus says to lose 1.5 lb per week I need to stick to 1562 calories per day after exercise.

GettinTrimmer · 29/08/2011 11:16

I feel hot again, seeing doctor on Wednesday to have coil changed may mention it, I wonder if my hormones are raging Hmm
