herding oh yes, I know those ones, and of course you have to get your moneys worth don't you,Wink, would be rude not to Smile. I have to say though that i don't normally drink so i feel dreadful for about 2 days after a function (i never used to be such a lightweight but post DC i just don't drink so much)

holls2000 · 19/06/2011 18:17

Hi there - I hope it's ok for me to pop by? DH and I have started trying for a mini-us (now there's a thought) and as I have PCOS I am on WW - been on it for about 8 weeks and have lost 1.5 stones but think I could do with the support of a friendly forum. Is it ok if I join you?

wizzler · 19/06/2011 18:22

Welcome Holls.. well done on losing 1.5 stone...

vnmum · 19/06/2011 18:25

welcome holls of course it is ok to join Smile. well done on the loss so far

BuntyCollocks · 19/06/2011 20:04

Hi all, hope you don't mind me joining. Have 2 stones to lose to get back to wedding weight, 1 to lose if I'm just aiming for pre-baby! My ds is 4 1/2 months and I want to at least be in my jeans, so the stone loss, by september

Has anyone done ww whilst bf? I seem to have a ridiculous amount of points per day that I'm nowhere near using, and I'm worried that even using the points I am there's no way I can lose weight! I'm on 36 basic then allowed 14 for exclusively breastfeeding ... Averaging 36-43 a day which still seems huge as I'm not denying myself anything. Most people seem to be on 29.

Sorry, I'm confused by this all. Doesn't seem possible!

If I don't lose (I am pointing everything religiously!) will my group leader woman then reduce my point allowance?

Thanks!

vnmum · 19/06/2011 21:08

welcome bunty There are a few people on here who have/are doing WW while BF and iirc some of them also struggle to use their extra breastfeeding points. I'm sure one of them will be along soon and will tell you more details.

androbbob · 19/06/2011 21:37

Evening - a quick 'pop in' - been very busy this weekend. bathroom renovation in full swing and meant I had a ceiling to paint sat and sun. Just washed up the brushes now - three coats later! DH was supposed to do it but was working. We were out at a nature reserve yesterday - new visitors centre and is very close to the motorway but was lovely. I only had soup and a roll for lunchm having had a yoghurt for breakfast as I didnt know what the food would be like. Was too tired for much tea so had some salad and meat! I did share a piece of cake with DS though - he ate more than me though!

Today was another busy day - DD has early swimming lesson, then to see their cousin, then horse riding lesson, then see my dad and home to make a roast dinner (with ceiling painting, sorting out the feature tiles for the bathroom - needed to get the random strips in the correct order to my liking, much to the family's amusement, and ironing!). WI tomorrow, so hoping for at least a 1b after all this busyness this weekend!

wrongdecade · 20/06/2011 08:47

how is all

dreading the scales tonight

SheepAreSuper · 20/06/2011 11:37

Good Morning.
Thank you all for the very warm welcome.

So week one and 6.5lb down.
Found it fairly easy for most of the week although am still getting my head around the points again. Found myself eating loads more free fruit and veg which can't be a bad thing.

Just know I'm going to struggle with the weekends. My lifestyle is very different to when I did discovery in that most weekends are spent socialising. Stayed within the 29 daily points all week then blew all yesterdays plus all my weekly points and some of my activity points (a massive 78 in total) by going to the pub then for an Indian Blush
With two consecutive weekends away with friends I think I need suss out what to eat and drink in advance.

vnmum · 20/06/2011 12:50

well done sheep thats a fab loss in the first week. mmm, curry and alcohol, especially wine, are not very forgiving on ww,lol. On the alcohol front, spirits and diet mixers seem to be the way ahead and if you eat out chinese is actually one of the best points wise.

hmc · 20/06/2011 13:25

Welcome to all the new peeps Smile

Androbbob - I'm knackered after reading about your weekend!

Welcome back Loopyla - I hope things are more settled with your family issues. Well done for coming back and getting back on that wagon, and for already losing one of the 4lbs you gained whilst going renegade!

Blondes - commiserations on your 2lb gain but don't be too hard on yourself, you are going through such a tough time that its hard to do something like manage your diet in the circumstances.

Herding - I think its great that you tracked the 80 pps you consumed during the ball, so tempting not to track them and pretend they didn't happen (which is what I do sometimes Blush)

Had drunken conversation with a friend at a Celidh on Saturday night. She told me not to go "too far" and not to "become anorexic", and also not to "pass it all on" to my dd. Lol! - irony is she is about a size 8-10. I found it amusing and suprising more than annoying, because she was coming from a good place (of being a concerned friend) and has no sides to her at all, so there was no agenda in what she was saying. Slightly ironic though, since I am a hearty size 12 not a waif like size 0!

androbbob · 20/06/2011 13:41

hmc I am knackered after my weekend! Been to WI today and lost half a pound. Its a start but could be better. Need to track properly.

Eating a juicy plum at the moment! On a mission to have a different piece of fruit every day.

vnmum · 20/06/2011 13:43

well done on the loss androbbob, a loss is a loss and it is in the right direction so try not to be too disheartened

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 20/06/2011 13:46

Hi bunty, I am a gold member having lost 4 stone in 6 months while bf. I must admit that I hardly ever ate my bf points and didn't touch my weeklies as I just couldn't eat that much! most days I ate 29 points and I lost an average of just under 3lb a week. I was 13 st 10.5 lb when I started in Jan and am now 9st 9lb. It can definitely be done!

Having said all the above, this weekend I have been totally off track with a family function. Failed to track on Saturday and Sunday but definitely used all weeklies and extra bf points and maintenance allowance I think! I am going to have some 29 point days to even it up hopefully! Why is my sister so good at producing amazing baking to tempt me?

LoopyLa · 20/06/2011 15:59

4 stone Shoulders??? That's fantastic!!!

I'm Envy I don't need to lose 4 but I've been on WW for 4 months and barely lost a stone yet...

:)

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/06/2011 16:09

holls200 welcome and well done on losing 1.5st

bunty welcome

hmc sounds like your friend is Envy and jealous to me that you have lost weight and not her 'fat' friend anymore

shoulders so basically you lost your weight quickly as didnt eat 'bonus' 49 or extra bf ones

there is no way i can just eat 29 a day and not starve :(

herdingcats · 20/06/2011 17:01

Hi all. Welcome newbies.
Hmc + Blondes, thanks for the reassurance about the 80PP blowout.Sad as i am I even took a piece of paper with me to write down my food and drinkBlush. Back on track now though and will be extra good this next week,as I usually don't ever use my weeklies.
BTW ,anyone having problems with Esource again? I can input stuff but it will not save it Angry. I will end up losing track of what I have had, and earned in activity points.

BartletForAmerica · 20/06/2011 17:11

Bunty, I'm doing WW while BF. I've only got a stone to lose now so I'm happy if the weight loss is 1lb a week. Shoulder's story is certainly encouraging.

We were away this week, I've had a cold, and the baby's not been sleeping as well so I've not been tracking as well (trying to make good choices though) and haven't been Shredding since Wednesday. (We've been up since 4am!) However on coming home this morning, I was pleasantly surprised to see I'd dropped 1.8lb. Hopefully that will continue as things get back on track.

Holiday in the Med planned for the beginning of September so must think of my bikini for then! Grin

BartletForAmerica · 20/06/2011 17:13

I should have added that I do tend to use both my BF and activity points, but not my weekly points. Having worked in obesity research pre-baby, I'm keen not to lose it too quickly, so my body doesn't then just try to put it back on.

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/06/2011 17:25

herding shall i remind you i gained 2 lbs that week :(

OP posts:
vnmum · 20/06/2011 17:33

herding my esource seems to be ok today. At our summer ball last year i took my phone with a tracking app on it so i could track everything but needless to say, wine and cheeky vimtos later (the only way i could stomach the port) i didn't actually track anything. Felt so rough the next day though that i hardly ate so sort of balanced it out,lol

HeyH0 · 20/06/2011 17:46

~Waves~ to newbies.

NoWay My eyes are watering at the thought of the sofa incident. :( Hope the return to work goes smoothly.

Herding Well done for tracking. I've found that eating a significant number of points in one hit does less damage than you think. (e.g. I can eat weeklies over a day or two & still have a reasonable loss, but if I spread the same points over the course of the week the loss is noticeably less. I may, however, have a freaky metabolism. )

Mini-whinge... I haven't dipped into my weeklies much, if at all recently, but I was away on a course last week & had to eat the lot. The irritating thing is it wasn't even nice food or stuff I'd normally touch, but I was stranded in the middle of nowhere & it was a case of eat what was on offer or go without... Think I'd have been better off going without, I've been craving raw veggies since I got back.

On a more upbeat note, I hit my 50lb loss on Sunday. :)

BuntyCollocks · 20/06/2011 18:31

Thanks for the warm welcome!

shoulders and bartlet you both have such encouraging stories! I haven't touched my weekly or activity points, and am tending to clock in, as mentioned previously, between 36-43 dependant on how starving I am- definitely feel hungrier whilst bf, and it's good to know the flexibility to have a ww biscuit is there (or when things are v shite, a glass of red!).

Wi is tomorrow, so will see how I go. I'm also wary of losing too quickly. Last time I had this weight to shift I did 3 stone in 2 months on sw, and between life and baby, 2 of that is back on, so I'm thinking slow (ish) and steady is the way forward.

Littlefish · 20/06/2011 18:35

HeyHo - congrats on your 50lb loss! Brilliant stuff.

I've just got back from a 4 day stay in Cornwall for a very dear friend's wedding. Can I just say that Pig Roasts, cooked breakfasts, jugs of Pimms, cup cakes, pringles and lots of rose wine are really not condusive (sp) to staying on track Grin.

Oh well. I had a fabulous weekend and I will just face the scales on Tuesday. Back to tracking tomorrow. Smile

HattiFattner · 20/06/2011 18:45

hello, mind if I join you? I just weighed in after week 1 - 6lbs down, whoop whoop. Many many many to go. :( but the journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.
