Result! Sod what the scales say. Grin

I'm wanting to splurge on clothes, but I have no idea what size I'll be in a months time, never mind the end of the summer.

vnmum · 15/06/2011 16:07

well done tiredemma, its a great feeling when you see your collar bones again isn't it.
sorry about the slight gain mistle but well done on the obvious inch loss

wizzler · 15/06/2011 17:34

Put on 1lb this week. Very Shock as thought I had been good, but then remembered my night of sin with a big bar of Milka, and the cup cake I ate at a baby shower, and I realise that I had become a bit complacent.. back to the tracker.

Wedding anniversary today, so DH and I are off to a posh restaurant.. will start tracking tomorrow... tonight will try to eat reasonably sensibly, but will use up most of my 49 I think!

OOOH!!! I lost 5lbs tonight!!! Am so chuffed and so in the zone!

Cycled to WW and then went to Zumba!

Had cereal for dinner as I really wasnt hungry.

hmc · 15/06/2011 22:52

Well done all the losers since I last posted, which includes: Korma, Collision, HeyHO, DirtyMartini, Pinkglow and OnlyWantsOne, TiredEmma and gemmummy.

Great result littlefish on sts after a holiday - I followed the same principles as you when away in February with similar results (i.e. didn't track but stuck to healthy choices)...good to know it can be done isn't it?

Don't worry about the 0.5lb gain mistlethrush, a 0.5lb gain on this thread is officially the same as a STS! Grin, it's too small to count!

I managed a 1lb loss this week, which considering I scoffed all my weeklies and all my exercise points plus around 10 points on top is something of a result. I think I only get away with it because of my muscle bulk (I have serious bicep, thigh and shoulder muscles now - in fact, am thinking about cutting the weights a bit before I go 'butch' Shock). I am definitely finding that now I only have around 4 lb to go until goal that I am being naughtier - I think it is because I already feel slim(ish) and look fine when dressed (less so in the buff) so the incentive to be diet virtuous is less...

Anybody catch the sleb twaddle re Claire from Steps? She had recently posed nude at size 16. She looks fine in photo (tis tastefully done, no nips on show etc) since she has lovely skin and a pretty face but is clearly carrying the extra pounds. What I find fascinating is that she recently slimmed down to a size 10 and then regained it all back up to a size 16 in the space of just 3 months.....3 months. If I am honest that scares the bejesus out of me!

hmc · 15/06/2011 22:55

Sorry - my comment on muscle bulk; I meant that the more lean muscle you have the higher your metabolism.....

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/06/2011 07:26

sorry cant name check - manic day yesterday - was dh inquest :(

but congrats on loss's and smaller size clothes and commiserations on the odd gain

ive really not been good this week so if i sts it will be a miracle, but i think i have a good excuse due to the above

NoWayNoHow · 16/06/2011 09:16

Morning all!

When will I learn that if I just name check daily, it's much easier! Everybody get a Brew and prepare to spend the next 2-3 hours reading this mammoth post!

lolalady congrats on the 2lbs loss - next week will be the stone off, just wait and see! Have stuck a couple of recipes up on the thread just now. Don't want to duplicate what's on eSource, though, so one is an old WW recipe from 5 years ago, and the other is a made up one. Thinking what else I can put on there...

benbon welcome to Thurs WI - how did you get on? Or are you WI tonight? Don't worry about the exercise if you're struggling with motivation - yes, it may earn you some more points to spend, but ultimately PP still works if you keep the same activity levels that you had pre-WW.

littlefish what a result sts after holiday! Well done! And well done on*Only your 50lb certificate!

OnlyWantsOne that's a fantastic result, well done! Also, you've clearly got a market for your wallets, so just keep making as people order and see how you get on with word of mouth. YOu'll soon see if it's got legs as a business on the side.

gemmummy well done on your 2lbs - enjoy your holiday, and don't feel like you have to count points while you're there, but see if you can at least use the knowledge you've gained from WW to see if you can choose the more sensible of two options, IYSWIM. Don't know where you're going, but if there's seafood on offer in the all inclusive, that's always low in points if grilled.

tiredemma well done on another loss - you're moving steadily in the right direction, so good for you! And yes, it's awesome when the collar bones make a return!

mistlethrush I echo HeyHO - sod the scales! It's how the clothes fit and what we look like that counts, surely? I mean, if you weighed 50st, you wouldn't care if you were a size 10, would you? (although you might want to see a doctor Grin )

wizzler sorry about gain, but at least you know where you've gone wrong and can rectify.

korma and collision those are unbelievable one week losses! Good grief! You must be so chuffed...

hmc well done on loss, it definitely seems like the lean muscle is doing the trick. Haven't read the mag article about Claire from Steps, but saw the TV ad about it. Poor lass. She's done nothing but yo yo for the past few years. It's clearly very little to do with her weight and far more to do with her emotional state. Don't worry, the same won't happen to you (or any of us for that matter) as we've lost the weight sensibly and have retrained our brains when it comes to food. She clearly still has some massive issues with her relationship with food.

blondes have posted on your other thread, but have a bug (((hug)))

Well, WI was this morning for me and I've lost 1.5lbs which take me back to my goal weight of 9st7lbs. Just need to try stay here now, or go a little under, but hmc mentioned about losing motivation the closer you get to goal and the more comfortable you are in your clothes, and I can totally relate with that. Basically, for me personally, I'd be happy anywhere between 9st3lbs and 9st9lbs, but preferably on the right side of goal, IYKWIM. Just need to keep it together and still track relatively accurately, even though I've got there now.

Good luck for anyone else WI today!

vnmum · 16/06/2011 09:53

well done korma, collision, hmc and noway
commiserations wizzler

Well I got told off by the WW online tracker this morning because i lost 3lb I am back at my goal weight Smile

I haven't read the article about claire from steps but it is worrying that someone could go from a size 10 to a 16 in such a short time but i agree with noway in that it is probably to do with her relationship with food.

blondes you have every reason not to track this week, it must have been a very stressful and emotional week

hmc · 16/06/2011 09:59

Well done NoWay on losing that pesky 1.5 lbs and getting back to goal. I find it really encouraging that you, vnmum and other goal members will occasionally gain a 1lb or 2 but then with persistence and commitment will successfully shift it again - it means you are controlling your body and not the other way around (and I hope to be able to do that too when I'm a goal member)

Blondes - I expect Inquest was very difficult, like NoWay am sending lots of un-MN like (((hugs))) in your direction. Hope you have a better day today and find a few things to smile about xx

hmc · 16/06/2011 10:02

Well done vnmum - great result!

Willabywallaby · 16/06/2011 10:17

Put on 2lb Blush

mistlethrush · 16/06/2011 10:20

Willaby - it happens - I also had a + this week - we'll just have to get it off again for next week Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/06/2011 11:38

well done vnmum and noway

commiserations to mistle and willa

mistlethrush · 16/06/2011 11:46

Blondes - how are you doing - I hope that, now you've got that big thing out of the way rather than looming up, things will settle down a bit - how's the eating going?

herdingcats · 16/06/2011 13:04

rushing to post WI result ,-1.5lbs this week .
Bye for now will read through later ,idf visiting MIL gives me a momentWink

vnmum · 16/06/2011 13:37

well done on loss herding
commiserations willaby

IHeartIona · 16/06/2011 14:41

Blondes, thinking of you and your very difficult day yesterday.
well done vnmum and NoWay on getting back to goal.
well done for all the other losses, and sorry for little gains

I am planning not to wear my jeans and heavy belt for WI tonight like I did last week when I put on 2.5lbs (usually wear leggings)! have been good this week, so fingers crossed!

I've been feeling a bit dizzy recently though, but I think it could be related to my hypothyroidism, rather than "dieting" too much. I ate a wispa last night after dinner of chicken breast, roast veg (done with oil) and parmentier potatoes, and am having a Dine in for £10 M+S meal for our wedding anniversary tonight, so don't think I am doing anything wrong. am eating all daily points anyway (plus a few extra here and there). will see what the doc thinks when I can get an appt.

good luck for anyone else weighing in today/tonight!

benbon · 16/06/2011 16:17

well i had my first gain since i started weight watchers... put on 1.5lbs which im quite please with as had 2 x very messy nights out on fri and sat which had to be followed by bacon sandwiches, so back on it with a vengence this week and will be getting my butt back into gear regarding exercise..
on the plus side the lady at my new meeting was lovely Smile

vnmum · 16/06/2011 17:20

happy anniversary Iona
commiserations benbon you may find alot is water retention from the alcohol and i am sure will make a good dent into that by next week

IHeartIona · 16/06/2011 20:06

Thanks vnmum
Sorry about your little gain, you could get it off again in a week though, so go for it

I lost 1lb tonight Smile

androbbob · 16/06/2011 22:31

Hello - been busy round here but not much dieting going on! Work started on the bathroom yesterday and we had two days notice - so been stripping wallpaper, buying the last bits and bobs, sealing stone tiles. the list goes on! Need to get myself sorted or the summer will be over!

froot - got ya as my missing gold member ta!

noway - yeah - goal member!! Good luck with the maintenance!

Well done to pinkglow, froot, lolladybird, littlefish, onlyone, genmummy, tiredmamma, collision, hmc and iona

better luck next week to wizzler and benbon and also to willaby - I think you and I are kindred diet spirits - we need to get ourselves sorted!!

mistlethrush - a little gain - pah half a pound - tis nothing!

vnmum - sorry to hear you are having trouble getting back into the running - bloomin kids passing on their germs!

blondes - hope you are ok and I loved the wedding ring!

I managed a STS this week - which is ok but not ok as it needs to go down!

Total weightloss this week so far is 17lbs and that takes into account the gainers as well - so far in the summer challenge the thread has lost 38.5lbs!

MrsTerryPratchett · 17/06/2011 04:33

Hi! Wizzler suggested I come over as I have stalled and need a kick up the arse bit of encouragement. I haven't gained but I haven't lost for three weeks. I need to get my 20lbs this week. So, 1.4lbs to go this week. I will tell you on Tuesday if I got it!

Do I just come on and tell you what happens?
