Morning guys

Thanks all for the vote of confidence - last night went really well and all the people I thought would be scary and too important to talk to were all lovely, lovely, lovely.

Today is official WI day, but as I stayed at folks last night I wasn't able to WI at the normal time/place, so will just go by yesterday's cheating WI stat and call it a 2lb loss. Back to Thurs WI next week.

vnmum sorry you're finding it hard, sometimes we just fall of the wagon for no particular reason, but it's then just as easy to jump back on. Just go grab a piece of paper and write down what you've eaten today as a start to your new week. Sorry about gain, but it does sound mostly like water, so hopefully that'll be well gone by next week.

OnlyWantsOne hope that your tracker is working again. Mine always loses the right hand side of the screen whenever I use Google Chrome, but is fine on the Internet Explorer browser. Also, are you planning your evening meals ahead? I always know what I'm eating for breakfast and dinner so that I can plan lunch and snacking and make sure I get to my 29. It's really important to eat all your dailies otherwise your body isn't getting enough fuel and will start to go into starvation mode (when it clings on to fat and you stop losing weight).

hmc welcome back, well done on last week's loss, how did you get on last night?

mistlethrush well done on the fab loss. Love the sound of your cheat's pesto past, might give that a go!

LolaLady glad you're back on track

tiredemma well done on your loss! I know it's frustrating when it goes slowly, but the most important thing is that is IS going.

willaby, herding and froot well done on losses

springfollows it's SO frustrating when you think you've chosen well, and it ends up being massively pointy, and it's a double annoyance when it doesn't even fill you up! Definitely going to try both of your salmon ideas, they sounds lush.

dazzling I have always done WW online, with the exception of 2 or 3 meetings at the beginning of the year when they changed the points system and I wanted to get as much info on it as possible. I find it works well for me, but it really depends on the way you feel motivated - some people find the public WI a massive incentive for staying on track.

Good luck for any more WI's today!

NoWayNoHow · 09/06/2011 09:43

x-post humphrey and onlywantsone - tsk tsk for WI in between!

humphrey it can be very motivational at the beginning when you're losing weight to see it go down every day, but bear in mind that soon it may start fluctuating up as well as down, and that can be demotivating to see every day. By WI at the same time every week on the same scales in the same place with the same amount of clothes on is the best way to get a true reflection of how you're getting on.

froot · 09/06/2011 10:10

humphrey I weigh myself at least twice a day...... Just can't help it ! I know I shouldn't ....

froot · 09/06/2011 10:11

The answer might be to give away the scales for a while !!

Willabywallaby · 09/06/2011 10:41

I vow never to own a set of scales.

hmc · 09/06/2011 11:00

Well done mistlethrush, tiredemma, willaby, herding and noway on great losses and also froot for managing to lose a lb over past few hectic busy weeks when you weren't even formally tracking.

Vnmum - small gain sounds a bit of a bummer, but at least your body fat % is the same as you say - so could well be fluid. Hope you get on okay at the docs and it doesn't turn out to be a hernia

Dazzle - I attend meetings, I must have tried to lose weight a 1001 times on my own and barely made it past day 2 without falling off the wagon. Once I reach goal I will attend meetings once per month - probably the first weds of every month to make sure I stay on track.... Some people do just fine online though, Blondes has always managed without meetings (hope you are doing okay atm Blondes)

NoWay - glad that the work meet up / social turned out to be a good one Smile

Springfollows - that new salmon recipe sounds fab too - I love ginger, soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce so it can't fail. Thanks for that Grin

Well - lost 1/2 lb at WI yesterday. Was very happy with that because I must have consumed two thirds of bottle of wine, 6 pints of lager and about 40pps worth of chilli nuts over preceeding weekend so was lucky not to gain. Going to be much more sensible this week!

dazzlingdeborahrose · 09/06/2011 11:20

Hi HMC, thanks - erratic working hours in the family means meetings are tricky and I can't guarantee being able to attend on a regular basis. Hoping to access some on-line support to keep me on track. Good luck with your weight loss!

vnmum · 09/06/2011 11:42

well done noway and hmc on your losses

NewChoos · 09/06/2011 12:08

Hello all, 1lb weight loss for me which is amazing as I have not been that good, back to being stricter now.

noway liked your outfit very much!
dazzling I am doing ww online, last year I lost a stone but then got pregnant, I find it ok and it does make me think about what I eat as I feel embarrassed to put in 2 creme eggs even though really I know it's not being monitored (or perhaps someone is having a good laugh at what we spend our points on?!)

Well done on the weight losses and good luck everyone.

vnmum · 09/06/2011 13:09

well done newchoos

OnlyWantsOne · 09/06/2011 13:23

WW yoghurt 1pp
banana

salad wrap 4pp
ww choc bar 2pp

ww recipe veg curry 3pp
rice 6pp

thats 16 out of my 38

NoWayNoHow · 09/06/2011 15:12

OnlyWantsOne reckon your evening meal is fine, but you really need to be bulking out the rest of the day.

I'd be starving if I just had a yogurt and banana for breakfast. Try adding some carbs in (maybe having Weetabix/muesli with yogurt and banana). Even some oats too.

At lunch, make your wrap more hefty and more filling by adding some protein like shredded chicken or tuna to it.

For snacks, try handfuls of nuts (like almonds) - they have a high pp value and keep you full so that you don't reach for anything else.

And don't be afraid to have some treats that you like. The beauty of PP is that you can spend them on whatever you want. If you have 22 points left over in a day, like you do today, go out and have a chocolate croissant and coffee, or a bottle glass of wine with dinner.

If you deprive yourself and you don't feed you body some of the things that make life worth living, the eating plan won't be sustainable and you'll eventually fall off the bandwagon.

hmc and newchoos well done on losses.

mistlethrush · 09/06/2011 15:55

I like oats and yoghurt - its also a useful thing to have available when you've just got a packet of crisps (or bar of chocolate) sized hole that is calling out to be filled - much better in terms of GI.

I don't like WW yoghurt though - I buy big pots of other brands. Ds is also a yoghurt fiend though - usually has it for pudding in the evening (often with oats too!)

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/06/2011 16:07

haugthychuckle hope you snacked on low pp stuff - always handy to have frozen batches of bns soup

mistle well done on 3 lb loss

tiresemma well done on lb, it may be small but rem a lb a week is just under 4 stone a year

willa well done on lb loss

herding well done

vnmum · 09/06/2011 16:46

onlywants I agree with noway, you need to add in alot more protein that will keep you fuller for longer and stop the blood sugar dips and highs that can make you hungry. If you genuinely aren't hungry and this is how you would normally eat then i would swap some of the low fat stuff for full fat eg full fat yog instead of ww yog, that will use some points but without you actually eating extra food. If this is a normal days food for you then it is pretty much protein devoid and to be honest protein is a slimmers best friend

OnlyWantsOne · 09/06/2011 16:56

hmmm thank you vnmum and noway - some times this is enough for me completely, but other days Im starving - Im drinking milk in my tea, which I havent counted... what protein rich foods should I be eating then ladies?

NoWayNoHow · 09/06/2011 17:05

Any kind of lean meat, tbh - skinless chicken, beef/pork with no fat (lamb tends to be quite fatty irrespective of how much actual fat is on it). Shellfish like king prawns are high in protein and volume for very few pp. Fish like salmon is higher in pp, but you've got the pp to spare so you can definitely include it.

Pulses are high in protein (things like lentils of broad beans) as are eggs and cheese. Philadelphia Extra Light is super WW friendly, and if you fancy a mature cheese, then go with half fat cheddar maybe. Things like wafer thin ham or turkey rashers all help.

Nuts are massively high in protein, so if you need to make up the points, try some WW/low calorie toast with peanut butter as a snack one day.

HTH!

HaughtyChuckle · 09/06/2011 17:56

blondes been snacking on PP sweet stuff like lemon slices & mallows Blush
I've been really hungry this week but stuck within my points

last night at the cinema me & DP had nachos between us but I only had a few so theres one time I've been officially Naughty lol

today I've been heffering but I've had 22 pts gregs cheese & onion 10pp and as I'm on 44pp per day I still have 24pp left lol

I can't believe I've lost a stone people have noticed which is nice. :)

Who's lost this week??

OnlyWantsOne · 09/06/2011 18:33

I know I asked before, but is there stats list of the people on this thread - just might give me the incentive to keep going?! and I'm a right nosy old cow

herdingcats · 09/06/2011 19:46

1 day I will get the hang of name checkingBlush
Only - was it you who asked what I have lost so far ? If so I've lost 20.5lbs in 12 weeks. My BMI goal is 11st 1 -8st 10, I would like to be 10st 7, so have another20.5lb to lose to get there. Did someone say on here when you become a gold member you cannot use Esource anymore, if thats the case I will fail miserably, as I find it very hard to remember the PP values for things. also I think you would be in a rut with your meals as you would never try any new recipe.
Leader text me today and asked again if I would become a leader. Not sure I'm brave enough ,and I definately would want to be at goal before I could consider it.
I've been out and treated myself today to this dress . I have not told DH yet as he's off training in the wind tunnel, went out for breakfast for my friends birthday and we just accidently went to the Debenhams sale Wink. The only trouble is I need new shoes as well nowGrin

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/06/2011 19:52

androb is our stat checker, but havt seen her stas recently, but then i havent been on this thread much over the last 7 weeks

so how much have we lost since jan 11 and whats the loss this week?

OP posts:
IHeartIona · 09/06/2011 21:04

Hi all
Put on 2.5 lbs this week Sad
I know why though, I got annoyed about STS last week and ate loads over the weekend, used all my weeklies plus 5 more.
Have stuck to dailies since Mon though so maybe a bit of bloating from TOTM due is not helping.
Well done to all losers, commiserations to those who gained or STS
Have a good week everyone!

vnmum · 09/06/2011 21:34

commiserations Iona
herding As far as i know you have to be a gold member before you can become a leader. As for the esource, you can still use esource as a gold member but you have to pay for it, they do a deal of £15 for 3 months then it goes to £7 per month. It is a bit of a gripe for gold members as alot of people think it should be free too, to help them maintain

pipsqueak · 09/06/2011 22:10

hi all . this is a uber dim question but when people refer to oats (for adding to yoghurt) does that mean porridge or are oats something else?

froot · 09/06/2011 22:56

only eggs good for protein - 3 medium eggs are 5 Pp due to ww 'rounding' one egg is 2 Pp
