Well done all losers, especially those of you who have passed the 3 stone barrier this week. Amazing stuff!

We have had friends to stay this weekend, and for the first time I have used my weeklies! I think they're all gone, plus a few of my bonus breast feeding points. This is going to lead to an interesting WI tomorrow as I reckon I will either gain or STS. I'm supposed to be doing maintenance but thought I'd do an experiment first to try and see what works...

androbbob · 31/05/2011 22:24

Back from Scarborough - not a place I will be rushing back to - its nice and gentile and the hotel was ok - if you want to be nosey it was this one here - no putting your judgey pants on though - it was a last minute dot com booking to resucue my dad and is lost car key (which incidently was in the boot and the boot locked with the key in it!!). Anyhows the DC were delighted with the 'posh' hotel - faded grandeur really but the room was enormous, we had the biggest bed in the world - high ceilings, two large windows looking out onto the bay.....and school dinners. It was only picked as we were booking at 8pm on sunday evening, the Premier Inn (which is our usual choice as you know what you get - same everywhere) was £65 for the room and this one was £80 for dinner, full english breakfast, family room and a free hour at the bar! I would not be able to feed us all for £15 for two meals, so booked the Grand! Oh and after booking a non-refundable break did I venture onto Trip Advisor - shouldnt have done that as DH is as fussy as you like, but fortunatley for us we had a lovely clean fresh room! Phew!

Oh did I mention, the hotel was full of blue rinse coach parties - mainly from the North East and Scotland (Bless they were lovely and made a fuss of he DC's). Fortunately for us there were two restaurants and we had paid 'extra' for the smaller seats 60 one rather than the seats 350 canteen! I am sure the food was the same though! Bingo and Ballroom dancing made the evening entertainment!!

Pain in the bum though - self service food - nothing fresh and green looking (no salad no fresh fruit) - all tinned and average. Did lots of walking up and down the cliffs though, avoided the chip and ice cream shops, so hoping not too much damage done!

Hope all had a good BH weekend!!

androbbob · 01/06/2011 09:47

I hope you lot are not skiving somewhere having a good time without me! Be good or else I will have to set blondes on you and she has a big kick!

MrsDaDeDee · 01/06/2011 11:26

Hi Everyone,
I joined ww online last week and have just read through this thread, everyone seems to be doing so well I'd like to join you if thats ok?!
I'm currently at 15st1 thanks to a good first week (-5lbs!) but i've obviously got a fair way to go (i'm 5ft 6 so think my goal weight is about 10st but i've been pretty happy at 11 in the past).
so far I'm loving pro points but does anyone know why this is 6pp on the online tracker? as far I know it's only got 0pp veg in it Hmm

MrsDaDeDee · 01/06/2011 11:28

sorry don't know why I bother to try and do links, they never work.
The thing i'm talking about is the Asda fresh tastes crunchy stirfry which has the following ingredients
Beansprouts (40%) , Green Cabbage (24%) , Carrot (14%) , Butternut Squash (11%) , Mange-tout (11%) .
:)

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 01/06/2011 11:52

Scarborough sounds entertaining androb although food not ideal - well done for persevering and not just giving up!

welcome mrsdadee join away! And well done on your first week loss, that's a great start. No idea why the tracker would have it as 6pp, if that's all that's in it it's 0 as you said. Perhaps someone has added it online by putting in the nutritional values on the packet rather than realising it is just 0pp veg IYSWIM? A lit of the things on esource have been added by members and they are not always reliable!

Well, my experiment was fruitful, 1lb off this week despite using more points than ever before. This maintenance thing is going to be interesting getting the balance right (although would like to lose another few pounds first, don't tell WW, I set my goal so I could stop paying sooner)

vnmum · 01/06/2011 14:03

well done wizzler
welcome mrsdadadee
androbbob sounds like an interesting bank holiday.
and I am so Envy of littlefish

I feel like i am retaining water at the moment which might have an effect on WI tomorrow. I'm not due on yet but feel bloaty IYKWIM. Also not sure if some of it is from the running i've been doing as i've gone from doing nothing for 5 weeks to running a couple of miles every other day. I managed 2.4 miles in 26 mins on monday, in the rain and wind too! I am planning to try a 4k route over the weekend so i will see how i manage that as it is not totally flat

Good luck to any wednesday WIers

HaughtyChuckle · 01/06/2011 16:44

well done wizzler,

envious, very littlefish

I have a dilemma

the frylite oil I bought uis crap on my pans everything sticks so I got desperate and poured a little in instead , do I have to count these points , its like the lowest oil you can get I calculated the whole bottle is 14pp errrf its like super paranoind PP counting, help me Sad

HaughtyChuckle · 01/06/2011 16:45

Ooh would a seperate 'PP Dilemma thread' be a bad idea?

or a loss one sometimes its hard to wade through

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/06/2011 17:57

one should always count pp for little extras, as coz those little extras that you -forget-- dont count all add up to maybe 20pp - so almost half of your 49 treats

OP posts:
wizzler · 01/06/2011 19:36

Blondes.. you are so very wise

tiredemma · 01/06/2011 19:47

Really pleased- only lost a lb but its a loss- I really thought I would have put on about 2lb.

at it full pelt now this week!!! Grin

HaughtyChuckle · 01/06/2011 21:26

So you do count all the calories whilst cooking with frylite? omg the idea of cooking at all is frightening now

Willabywallaby · 01/06/2011 22:15

Half a pound on for me tonight, but not been good. Need to pull my socks up for the home run.

gemmummy · 01/06/2011 22:19

hi all, 3 weeks in and reporting good news, 7lb loss in total! So pleased to get to my first half stone, especially as I had a major blow out bank holiday. Hope you are all doing well. Still after low point packed lunch ideas, I prefer a low point lunch so I can enjoy a higher point dinner.

wizzler · 01/06/2011 22:43

Well done Gem, and Tiredemma

NoWayNoHow · 02/06/2011 07:23

HOLY CRAPBALLS BATMAN! 2lbs gain for me this week after actively trying to be good at my unhealthy IL's - can you imagine my WI if I'd actually decided to got with their fat-filled flow???

Sigh.

Now a full 3.5lbs away from goal again Angry. Am going to have to work really hard this week. It won't help that I've got a fish and chips night tomorrow night. Hvae pre-ordered smallest portion of cod and chips they do, so will just avoid the skin and not eat too many chips.

Anyway, onwards and upwards!

Congrats wizzler, shoulders and tiredemma on your respective losses. And well done gemmummy on your 7lbs in 3 weeks - that's a great average.
willaby commiserations on gain, we can both jump back on the wagon together!

Welcome too to mrsdadedee

haughty do a quick check online for the value of frylite - IIRC, you can use 5 sprays for no points. However, if it were me and my pans were being ridiculous and sticky, I would just use 1 tsp of olive oil. Yes, it's 1pp, but that's not a lot in the grand scheme of things, and you're probably using close on the when you're pouring in the frylite anyway!

NewChoos · 02/06/2011 08:53

3lb loss for my 1st week. Sorry haven't read all the posts, but welcome to new starters, well done for any losses and good luck to everyone. Having a bit of a traumatic week with DS so dieting may not go too well over next few weeks :( although I don't feel like eating so I may well lose.

vnmum · 02/06/2011 09:46

well done gemmummy and tiredemma and newchoos
Commiserations willaby and noway ,
noway although you were expecting a gain it is still annoying but just think it could have been so much worse. Some of the gain could also be water if you've been eating alot more unhealthy food. You are in the right frame of mind to be able to sort this gain out over the next few weeks and after all, that is what maintenance is all about, staying in control and calmly dealing with any slight gain. When we are maintaining there will be times when we gain e.g holidays etc but the key to being succesfull is to not panic, calmly get back on track and lose the gain, that way we will continue to be maintaining rather than heading back down the road from where we've come. From previous posts you have proved that you are in control so i have no doubt that you will be reporting a good loss next week Smile

I am reporting a 0.5lb loss this week, but it is still a loss, so i am hoping my exercise starts to show on next weeks WI

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/06/2011 10:10

wizzler not sure im wise lol

noway sorry for gain

i shall join you tomorrowBlush
