Welcome one and all to our 7th thread :)

If you're just starting out or you've been following WW for a while and you're looking for support you've come to the right place!

There are lots of regulars who are well on their weigh (get it! ) Grin and others who have just joined us - we're a mixed bag, all shapes and sizes and all with different goals to achieve but we're all striving for the same thing. We're all here to will one another on with advice, support and lots of cheering!

Androbbob is our resident stat checker and keeps us motivated by totting up the total weight loss each week.

we have lost an amazing amount since jan 2011 Shock

We're quite fast moving at times so just dive in - pour yourself a Wine or [cuppa] and make yourself at home

[a much worse, but even more delicious combination is peanut butter and golden syrup, but even I have managed to restrain myself from that for several years Blush]

JoJoBaldwin · 24/05/2011 09:09

Oh no, didn't mean to give anyone ideas lol

NoWayNoHow · 24/05/2011 09:10

Loublou congrats on the 3.5lbs - that's amazing!

littlefish I know the feeling of nasty bloatedness post-cheese and booze! Yuk. Just be as good as you can for the rest of the week!

herding you poor thing, i hope that you can get the news you want from the dr. As daunting as an op is, sometimes it's just got to be done so you can start living normally again.

Welcome sookie Tracking is king, as long as you remember that, you'll be fine. And don't forget - if you cheat and don't track, the only person you're cheating is yourself

vnmum even if you stuffed your face, I would definitely try to avoid the desperate measures, as you're right, it's not a good habit to get into. Just try to be as good as possible (whilst still following the plan), take the WI on the chin and move onto next wee. We can't all be perfect, but the key is not to slip into the yo-yo pattern of binge then starve, binge then starve, because it's just not sustainable or healthy (both physically and mentally, IMO).

HaughtyChuckle · 24/05/2011 10:24

I've done my points nad as I've not lost a stone there still the same I've rejigged my food e.g had weetabix instead of cooked only prob is I get hungry quicker after say weetabix than cooked protein :(

So far Ive had
2 weetabix - skim milk - 3 points
WW yoghurt - 1pt

and 2 full glasses os water gonna make sure I drink more water it helped me before. and gonna make sure I go to park somewhere every day. I have to have lost a stone by early June!!!

NowaynoHow Im back on the wagon just a relapse lol

mistlethrush · 24/05/2011 10:35

HC - if you could bring yourself to eat it, proper porridge or even muesli would probably fill you up better.

LolaLadybird · 24/05/2011 10:35

2lbs off which I'm definitely pleased with given 'poo-face' Smile TOTM and Wine consumed at weekend. Only another 1.5 lbs to my first stone so that's my goal for next week.

LolaLadybird · 24/05/2011 10:38

PS. Opted for an almond croissant for my post WI treat - couldn't risk getting a taste for golden syrup toast given it's general accessibility in the kitchen. At least almond croissants have to be especially shopped for!!

Littlefish · 24/05/2011 10:39

I may be facing a STS, or even a gain tonight, but I can still do something to remind myself of how far I've come.

I'm off to do a huge turnout of my wardrobe, and all the boxes of clothes currently stored in the attic. I'm terrible about keeping clothes which are either too big or too small. If they're too small, I always think that I'll want to wear them when I lose weight. Now I've lost weight, they are at least 8 - 10 years old, and definitely out of fashion/lacking in style!

The clothes that are too big just need to go. I never want to get bigger again and someone (possibly Androbbob?) said that it was too easy to put weight on if you think you can just cover it with bigger clothes, instead of having to slim back into existing clothes. Whoever it was, was right. I just need to bit the bullet and throw everything away. I'm just going to keep one pair of my biggest jeans to keep reminding myself!

HaughtyChuckle · 24/05/2011 10:45

well done lolaladybird

yea I'll try porridge

mistlethrush · 24/05/2011 10:55

Make sure its proper porridge from porridge oats, not a 'fast' porridge though - that has a much higher GI than porridge oats so won't keep you going for as long.

vnmum · 24/05/2011 11:19

well done lola
noway you are right with your wise words

NoWayNoHow · 24/05/2011 12:21

vnmum

lola well done on 2lbs off and Envy at almond croissant (although mine would probably be a chocolate one as any kind of almond paste/marzipan makes me heave)

haughty glad to hear it! I agree with the porridge/muesli option (for me, I'd probably go muesli just cos I find porridge too hot for summer, IYKWIM)

Just went shopping, needed new top. In the changing room with one other person who asks me to zip them up. No problem! Walking into a wall of fart from said person? BIG PROBLEM!! Who does that and then invites others to partake in the smell fest???

cacklingdragon · 24/05/2011 13:08

oooooh noway that's nasty - pmsl though :)

congrats on loss Lola

today is my first day pointing. though am not joining til Thursday I think it makes sense to try and get in the habit. Organisation is my downfall as i'm often not organised and then forget to eat for long periods or remember that i should eat and then eat rubbish. So, have made packed lunch for work (a lovely wrap some yogurt and some quavers) so here's hoping this is the beginning of some good habits :)

GL for weigh ins everyone

cacklingdragon · 24/05/2011 13:09

LOL wrap plus yogurt and quavers not wrap with yog and quavers in - ewww. Have chicken tikka bits and stir fried veg in wrap :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/05/2011 13:29

haughty well done

cackling a lb a week is 4 stone a year 1.5lbs a week is 6 stone - you will get there

loubloutwinmum · 24/05/2011 13:54

Noway - a wall of fart!!! How lovely eh, some people.
Lola - well done - your first stone is well on it's way! I used to eat at least 3 or 4 almond croissants a week before I joined WW. I was rubbish at eating breakfast so would often stop at the Tesco Express on my way to work after dropping the kids off at school. Was quite shocked when I realised they were a whopping 10pp EACH!!!! Not had one since but I do love them!

Had a very funny experience after Zumba last night. Popped into the local Co-op after my class to grab some bread and milk and was still in my gym gear. The guy behind the counter asked me what I'd been doing and I said Zumba and then he was asking what that was so I explained a keep fit class etc... He said, his exact words "You don't need it love, you look as fit as a butchers dog".... Was slightly taken aback, wasn't quite sure what sure what to say and if I should be offended to being likened to a dog or chuffed he thought I looked fit!!! Needless to say I just went red and quickly left!

Anyway, there is a supply of blueberry muffins in the office today and I'm trying to resist having one but do not hold out much hope that I will last until 5.30!!!

Good luck with WI's today, tonight.

vnmum · 24/05/2011 14:19

loublou i would have taken that as a compliment, but i too wouldn't have known what to say and gone red. well done you Smile

herdingcats · 24/05/2011 14:54

won't name check as I have to go out in 5 mis - school run.
Welcome all the new people.
Doc told me last night I have no option but big op, having discogram in 2-3 weeks and fusion in about 18-20 .
Was majorly worried about it ,but now all I am thinking about is a lovely freind who's DH has had a major stroke(tear in the vessel to the brain) and next 48hrs crucial. Prayers being said as I type and huge positive vibes , poor lady.Sad

hmc · 24/05/2011 15:16

Sorry to hear about your major op and your friend's dh Herding - life can be very challenging

Welcome all new folk - and much impressed Cackling that you read all 7
threads!!!!!!

Hoops - how did M&S baby modelling assignment go?

NoWay, JoJo and SpringFollows - I can only offer solidarity and best wishes for the extreme dietary challenges coming your way involving various over eating relatives over next few days!

Well done on grrrrrreat losses Loublout, Lolalady and HeyHo
. Loublout rofl at fit as a butchers dog - I think it was deffo a compliment, just lacking in a bit of finesse. Perhaps he didn't want to sound too smarmy!

Hope exam went okay Carey (another one - and so soon - eek!)

Glad you are feeling bit better vnmum

And vom at the farty changing room person NoWay - I have a bit of a thing about farts (apart from my own Grin) - they really can literally make me want to puke

Good luck to everyone due a WI today. Not much to report at my end - have had bad cold from hell (couldn't taste anything for 72 hours) but now much better. Am a little bit addicted to exercise however, and have sorely missing the endorphins not having done any exercise since last Wednesday. Will attempt a gentle jog with the dogs tomorrow morning (chest is clear now).

HaughtyChuckle · 24/05/2011 15:20

hope you friend gets better soon herding

well done lola

tiredemma · 24/05/2011 16:40

benbon · 24/05/2011 17:11

absolutely gutted... been so good this week and really upped my exercise all for a lousy 1lb off!!! feel really dishartened and like giving up.. have already eaten over my dailies but will give myself a kick up the bum and get back on track tomorrow!!!

hoops997 · 24/05/2011 17:32

hmc Ds's modelling went fabulousy, he was a real star, hopefully he will be booked by them again, it was for Autumn/winter in store posters and the website.....it was a really good experience :)

SpringFollows · 24/05/2011 18:18

5 pounds off!!!!!!! I am SO pleased. As I missed last week it means 5 pounds in 2 weeks but I am thrilled.

vnmum · 24/05/2011 18:26

well done on losses spring and benbon. benbon a loss is a loss, i know it can be disheartening when you have worked really hard but i usually find if i do loads of exercise it doesn't show for a few weeks, i think my body goes into shock and resists losing weight for a bit
