You lot! Over 'ere! Sorry for taking liberties with the previous thread: I am no good with suspense, and it was like looking at a gigantic throbbing pustulating boil and not being able to squeeze it

Hi Weblette and Mandalee Welcome!

C4ro · 18/05/2011 19:34

Hello all!
due to having packed my scales onto the removal truck yesterday I can't join the list this week. I am pretty sure I'm on a plateau though according to Tuesday weighing. Pretty good if I did have a null week as was at BIL wedding over the weekend and there was much splishy-splashy to had. Took DD on the flights on my own and due being titchy embraer plane was next to someone both times. Tough work and in need of much gin to soothe frazzled nerves. In any case, congrats to all- some fine losses posted this week. I will be back on next week as driving down to new home on Friday which gives me four days to find the box the scales are in!

Cheeseandbiscuits · 18/05/2011 19:34

Waves to mandalee and weblette. Welcome welcome. T'is Indeed a lovely fred.

hedgepig I've been constipated since the day I pushed a baby out and now have a fissure. However I poo'ed today and reweighed myself and I was 1.5lbs lighter! However, I'll stick to the 1lb loss for now.

Pixie I also saw Ben on offer. He's a particularly good friend of mine and gas often been there in my hours of need. However, I looked at my gut and walked away. He keeps calling me though.

C4ro · 18/05/2011 19:36

Ooh. Hullos to all new folks.

weblette · 18/05/2011 19:45

Don't worry c4ro, I'd probably be carted off first, having 4dcs does something to the brain...

Cheeseandbiscuits · 18/05/2011 20:16

Hi c4ro how was the wedding? Well done you on the flights. I'm off to get DD passport photos done 2mw ready for our hols in July. Dreading the flight on shittyeasyjet already! Good luck with the move!

Weblette - 4 kids hey? That must keep you on your toes. I'm one of four and I love our big family. My brother and sisters are my fav people to hang out with. I will stop moaning about managing my one baby!

C4ro · 18/05/2011 21:33

Hi cheese - the wedding was great fun. Pretty much direct family only and was in the same place DH and I got married 3 years ago- reg office in Steyr. Lots of happy reminiscing to be had and bonus of my 3 nieces appointing themselves nannies to my DDfor the weekend so I got quite a bit of time to eat all my food before it went cold as their parents took over cat-herding duties. Have begged but they wouldn't let me take them home with us.

Four DC is certainly a boatload of fun webette. I'm also one of four but at the moment DD could stay an only child. I do wonder if I'm making her miss out but two would be the max I could contemplate plus I'm an old gimmer now according to the rulez of when one is allowed childrens so we will just have to see. cheese are you thinking to go for more?

C4ro · 18/05/2011 21:36

No gains this week! wow everyone.

Cheeseandbiscuits · 18/05/2011 21:43

Congrats pixie and bloof. tres bien!

c4ro glad you had a fab time. Yeh, even though DD is only a matter of weeks, we would def have more. My DH is an only child and always wanted a larger family when he was growing up. We'll give it 18mths then crack on again I think!

weblette · 18/05/2011 22:40

C4ro there are days when I would happily send you one of mine...

Cheeseandbiscuits · 19/05/2011 07:59

Morning all.

T'is a very sunny day here in london. Going to take DD on a long walk today rather than getting the bus to see our NCT pals. Will be an hour and a half round trip so not bad exercise. Will not eat cake there ESP as I tripped and fell with my mouth open onto 3 Belgian chocs last night

today my grub is:
b:smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast (heb)
l: mackerel salad or chicken salad

d:my world famous veggie chilli or stirfry
hea will be skim milk, snacks fruit and ML yog.

Hedgepig · 19/05/2011 08:13

Morning sunny in Cambridge too , I even put my sandals on today (must paint my nails). Cheese enjoy your walk it's a lovely day for it, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs sound good.

my food today will be
B - 2 teeny bit of whole meal toast & jam HEb = 1syn for jam
mixed berries and low fat natural yog and honey = 1/2 syn for honey and 1/2 syn for yog
L- home made soup (if it defrosts)
T - some sort of pasta thing (maybe HEa cheese on it if we have some) and a low fat yog (3? syns)

snacks - fruit

well done to all of us a good steady week I think, and stinky I'll race you to the next lb Grin

the good news is the Ocado man comes at 6 so we will have food again later on

AlpinePony · 19/05/2011 08:14

cheese You need to keep an eye on that - else you might trip on a penis and accidentally get pregnant. :(

Well done losers - gosh, nobody put on weight - that's bloody brilliant! :) I should've weighed this morning - as I have pooed significantly!

I think I'm going to cycle around to a friend's later to deliver Tesco teabags (can't get decent tea here apparently) with the baby on the back. Otherwise just a quick dog walk exercise wise.

Rode the horse last night and it didn't go well, I was riding like a numpty. I don't think it helped that I was wearing a badly fitting g-string which rubbed to the point of bleeding! Shock

stinkypinky · 19/05/2011 08:17

Very well done everyone! Bloof top of the list too! Well done pixie

stinkypinky · 19/05/2011 08:19

Trip on a Penis - so easy to do in this house! Grin

weblette · 19/05/2011 08:43

Morning all from a very sunny and cloud free Bucks.
3dcs in school, 1 to go!
Plan for today:
Muller light yog, wmeal pitta with banana - HE
Salad w jacket potato, prawns & free cottage cheese
For dinner might try the salmon noodles thing in the latest SW mag, not sure on the Syns but it should be quite low.
For snacks I've a ton of those little plum tomatoes.

BlooferLady · 19/05/2011 08:46

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!

Wow, I can't believe I was top, even if I did have too share it with someone . What a stormer of a week for us all!

Many welcomes to Mandalee and Weblette :) 'Tis indeed a Thread of Niceness. Unless like me you persistently wreck your diet with flapjack and almonds, and then the Full Might of the Doomers descends upon you with the weight of a thousand gateaux Grin

Check you out in your G string Pony, bloodied or otherwise! I've never worn owt but comforting cotton granny pants

Have read all your news, of weddings and constipations and smoked salmon and big families (me = one of 5) and whatnot. Sorry not to have been around much yesterday. Sometimes I literally cannot believe it when they expect me to work for my wages Shock

Well I had a night out last night, and had beer and toasties, so tight beltening today:

(EE day)

Break: fruit
Lunch: grilled mackerel fillets, couscous salad, yogurt
Dinner: frittata with feta on (HEA), stewed apple (HEB), 2 syns for honey

Slightly worried about this weekend, folks . I am going for a weekend away in a country house with some pals. There will be much carousing. I don't want to ruin quite a precious and exciting time by pursing my lips and refusing to join in, and I don't want to be weighed on Wed and find I've gained that 2lb. I think for now my strategy is going to have to be having very very strict days today and tomorrow, trying not to get too mental at the weekend, then being very strict Monday and Tuesday....

I wonder what it's like to go away without having to think about this stuff?!

Anyone seen STDG? Not only did she go back to that ghastly 'aren't fat people revolting' thread, but she was so gracious and nice that peace and goodwill has broken out. They're practically printing We

Hedgepig · 19/05/2011 09:34

It shocking when your employer expects some work from you isn't it Bloof Grin

BlooferLady · 19/05/2011 09:41

Grin Dunno how I stand for it really.

Did you notice 'tight beltening' by the way? Confused

Spoonerismitis!

C4ro · 19/05/2011 09:47

cheese 18 months was about all I can bear to think of for an age gap but that will make me 38+ and likely be more hit/ miss to even get pregnant. Fertility being a fickle bitch much of the time; it may have to be shorter if I can muster up the courage.

Alpine THANK YOU... My Dad is coming over tomorrow from the UK to split the drive to Austria with me. I need to tell him to bring me jumbo packs of tea-bags as we're really low now and continental tea is weedy. Would kick myself if I have to pay ??? for some from overpriced Brit shops.
I threw out all my arse floss g-strings ages ago. I hate things up my arse crack.[leaves it wide open for some sniggery comments there... come on, roll-up, rooll-up]. Sensible sloggi midis here!

Bloofer- I am rubbish at restraint when in good company so I would just prep hard for the weekend today/ tomorrow and deal with the aftermath Monday. Probably not the most helpful advice though- some planning might be better if you can get at online menus/ know roughly the schedule of events.

I thought SDTG did very well on that thread not to loose her temper and unleash the f-words but it did come out OK in the end. Ninja-sky though... dear lord... I hope that poster doesn't work in any job involving the need for tact, diplomacy or empathy. I thought I was pretty bad at walking in others shoes but she managed to make me feel like some sort of nursey-best-bed-side-manner-ever, which is some feat if you knew how often I manage to stick my foot in my big mouth.

...isn't tight beltening just what you do when you really need to get that dress zipped...

mandalee · 19/05/2011 09:54

Morning all! and thanks awfully for the nice welcome. Even if I did celebrate last night by scarfing the remains of my son's last Easter egg. Hmm

Starting an experiment today, have gotten a rebounding trampoline for summer use, since my 7-year-old seems to think he's too big for the creche at the gym (and maybe he is, at that). Meant to be really good exercise, as it uses gravity to increase the workout - ie when you land on the tramp, you 'weigh' more due to g-force, so your muscles have to work harder to get you up again.

Hmm. That sounds pretty awful, now that I think about it. Or maybe it's taking the lemons I currently possess and making lemonade? Grin

Anyhoo, it's also meant to be lots of FUN... and easy on the joints, too. Will report on relative funnage later.

Sunny here too, must also get the puppy outside for some running. I might even join in... Shock Will be sure to watch out for rogue penises.

pixiestix · 19/05/2011 09:56

No gains, how fantastic are we? Grin

Radio silence from the house of Pix as things are mostly shit in our neck of the woods lately. But the sun is shining so... mumble, mumble, better times ahead, something like that?
Don't hold out much hope for good weightloss this week as the cupboards are Mother Hubbardesque so I will be finishing off the cans of tomato soup, eating super noodles, and Ben and Jerrys, and moaning like a good 'un.

BlooferLady · 19/05/2011 10:05

Ah, how well I know the Mother Hubbard sensation. Bleeeeeeee. I used to think all that would be over once we weren't both students but nope, here we are with 2 x professional jobs and occasionally I have to rustle up meals of a clutch of withered mince from the back of the freezer and two slices of Christmas cake left over from the year before...

Disclaimer: Christmas cake never lasts that long Chez Bloof.

On the plus side if it's mostly soup and noodles then I reckon you can eat a fair bit of B&J without too much calamity Grin

Sad that it's being shiteous though pal

StayingDavidTennantsGirl · 19/05/2011 10:08

Congratulations to Blooferlady and pixiestix, and everyone else for losing weight this week. I am almost tempted to get on the scales myself, but am scared of getting to next week and finding I have failed again, so might just try eating sensibly and seeing if I can keep that up for a week.

I did quite well yesterday - I had leftover savoury rice for lunch - but then at bedtime dh brought a big plate of cheese up to bed, and I succumbed. I am not worthy of this thread.

But, new day today, and I started OK with weetabix with semi skimmed and 1tsb of sugar for breakfast. I find breakfast hard, because I am on antidepressants that I take first thing and which make me a bit nauseous, so I don't fancy food, but inspired by you all I did have breakfast yesterday and today, and it's OK, actually. It hasn't made the nausea worse or better, and I can live with that.

I'm having a sandwich on seedy brown bread for lunch - maybe cheese and apple as I am a bit short of decent sandwich fillings - and a banana. I will be at art class at lunchtime and we all bring sandwiches - and then the wicked, evil tea lady buys kitkats and other delicious chocolatey biscuits, so I will have to exercise self control (I must have had some once, I wonder where I left it......?).

Tea is bangers and mash and cabbage, so I will have plenty of cabbage and not too much mash, and the sausages are reasonably good ones so I hope they will pass muster. Tbh, I am hoping that cutting out all the snacking I do will get me started on losing weight, alongside cutting down on my portion sizes (except veg and fruit).

The chicken kebabs were yummy - I didn't have any teriyaki marinade so made my own with soy sauce, a squirt of honey, lime juice, garlic, minced ginger and chinese five spice powder. I will be doing them again!!
