Tortoise · 02/06/2011 22:39

Thanks Small, i really was crap!

OP posts:
Furball · 03/06/2011 10:54

smalline - of course it doesn't count! -I did the same with the cream cheese icing for the carrot cake and it is literally zero calories. Grin

just been for a 9km bike ride with ds - I am going to try and go EVERYDAY after dropping ds at school. I have no excuses not to go and if I do it first thing, I can go home, shower and forget about it.

So far today......bran flakes and a teeny sprinkle of sugar

Pinkjenny · 03/06/2011 10:56

Hi all

Can I join you? I'm sick of the yoyo diet wagon, as I can't seem to stay on it!

Want to try and change my attitude, eat healthily and exercise. Is that what this thread is about?

I am 13st 1lb this morning. Target is 10st 8lb.

MarionCole · 03/06/2011 18:37

Hi Pinkjenny. I think we were on the same post-natal thread - May 2007?

I don't think anyone would disagree with me if I said that we were taking a realistic approach to weight-loss on this thread! We all have our good days and our bad days. In general though, we are aiming to eat better and exercise more.

I was doing OK until lunchtime, then DS and I went on a playdate and I ate too much cake and too many ice lollies. And now we have just had pizza for tea. Might weigh myself in the morning, should give me the shock I need to get myself back in line!

theothermrsclooney · 03/06/2011 22:45

Half term has wrecked my diet. Too much temptation not helped by making the sponge and buttercream for DD's birthday cake. Had to cut the sponge to shape and had a pile of yummy sponge offcuts to share out.

Breakfast porridge made with soya milk
Lunch: crusty bread, ham, cheese, pickles etc
Dinner: small bowl of pasta
Supper: sponge offcuts spread with left over buttercream (relieved to read buttercream leftovers have zero calories!)

Going camping tomorrow. I accept I need to just do my best this weekend and then pull myself back on track next week when back at work.

Smalline · 04/06/2011 14:11

Makes note to self, never go to the gym on Friday evening and then fit2fite on Saturday morning, it is too much, I just couldn't keep up this morning, felt fit2drop!!!Hmm

I stayed the same this week, not surprising with it being half term holiday, have to plan ahead for the summer hols now, it would be nice to lose at least half a stone before then, cos I know that if I am not careful, it and more will be back on during the holsShock.

Welcome PinkjennySmile

Smalline · 06/06/2011 10:05

Hi Ladies, how are you all doing?

How was your camping trip theothermrsclooney?

Any news tortoise?

This week I am going to try and cut back on the carbs,

Breakfast - 2 boiled eggs, 1 tangerine, green tea

Lunch will be chicken salad

I've currently got a gammon joint and apple juice, slowly cooking in the slow cooker, will probably have that with salad.

Almonds & fruit for snacks.

Tortoise · 06/06/2011 10:21

No news yet Small.
Ready for a fresh start this week. I had 1 piece of toast with jam this morning and feel really bloated. Noticed the same thing yesterday. Could it be the bread? Maybe i need to switch to brown (yuk!) or the best of both type bread. Maybe because i haven't been eating much bread lately. I don't know but feel really uncomfortable!

OP posts:
Furball · 06/06/2011 10:55

I've just got back from a 10 mile bike ride - that's 500 calories burned- woohoo!

I'm going to try and go every morning.....except tomorrow as I've made arrangements although I may go after lunch.

Now......just need to stop pigging out.....think I'll have a greek salad and Jacket potato for lunch

Tortoise · 06/06/2011 10:58

Well done Furball. Envy I want a bike so i can go off cycling!

OP posts:
Furball · 06/06/2011 11:39

tortoise - have you tried freecycle? or the for sale section in your local paper for bargain?

theothermrsclooney · 06/06/2011 15:09

Hi, camping was great, thanks for asking smalline, DCs loved it. We went with friends and ate sausages, baked beans and ice cream on Saturday in the lovely sunshine and had bacon butties on Sunday in the freezing cold! Needless to say didn't help th diet but it could have been worse. I am back to 12 stone 11 this morning and am full of good intentions for this week.

Had scrambled eggs, a low fat yogurt and wheatgerm for breakfast and a bowl of Heinz tomato soup for lunch plus an apple. Am planning on having home made bolognaise sauce with cauli mash for tea. I am going to Pilates class tonight so am feelibng quite in control today!

tortoise - when did they say you would hear back following your interview?

Smalline · 07/06/2011 19:08

This thread is a bit quiet isn't it? I thought we were all logging what we were eating every day

Tortoise · 07/06/2011 19:18

Sorry small.>
I have been hiding away because I am doing crap as usual! Feeling less bloated today but I noticed today just how fat I am and have got lately. I don't know how to get back in the zone.
No job news so far. He said beginning of the week which I feel has passed.

OP posts:
Furball · 07/06/2011 21:14

yes - sorry small slap accepted!

today

bran flakes, sprinkle of sugar

lunch = 2 x ham and cheese croissants (they needed eating! Hmm )and a nectarine

tea = 2 x poached eggs 1 rasher bacon and beans. a banana

just done a 3 mile walk

didn't manage to get on the bike today as the weather was shite, but hope to go tomorrow

Smalline · 07/06/2011 22:05

Nice to see you back ladies, I thought you were going awol on meGrin

Today I have had

Breakfast - porridge with raisins
Lunch - ham salad, yogurt & 2 teaspoons peanut butter,
Dinner - couscous with german sausage & sweetcorn, large apple

Sounds like you are getting some serious exercise in Furball well done

If I were you Tortoise I would get in touch with him, if it is not good news (and I'm not saying it isn't) then I would ask for some feedback on the interview.

What is cauli mash theothermrsclooney? is it mashed cauliflower? glad your camping trip went wellSmile.

theothermrsclooney · 07/06/2011 22:29

I found the receipe for cauli mash in Idiot proof diet. Steam half a cauliflower and puree with butter and double cream if you are following a high protein/high fat/low carb diet or with a teaspoon of half fat creme fraiche if you don't want to go into cardiac arrest!

You can then have in place of normal mash or in place of pasta, rice etc. It is tasty, even DH likes it although he prefers the butter/cream version.

Missed my pilates class last night ended up working till late (supposed to be finishing a presentation now) but have been good on the food front.

Today's food:
Breakfast: Scrambled eggs, yogurt and wheatgerm
Lunch: M&S ready made salad (275 calories). Apple
Tea: Homemade stew
Snacks: Another apple. 2 x Natural Confectionary jelly snakes (opps but can't have many calories in them?)

Tortoise · 08/06/2011 13:22

Right, so far today
Cereal bar
SF shake
Piece of almond cake
Butternut squash soup
2 pieces home made cherry flapjack
No idea what dinner will be! Maybe soup again.

OP posts:
Tortoise · 08/06/2011 16:45

Well, I didn't get the job but he said I did well in the interview and had I had more experience I might have got it. He will let me know if any other jobs come up either in the coffee shop or their grocery shop.

Just had 10 strawberries!

OP posts:
theothermrsclooney · 08/06/2011 21:28

Sorry you didn't get the job tortoise, fingers crossed something else comes up.

Furball · 08/06/2011 21:33

Tortoise · 08/06/2011 21:37

Thanks Smile.
