Weight today 12st st 8 1/4.

I think one of my problems is not knowing what the hell to eat. Last few days every time I eat a meal I get suddenly overwhelmed by tiredness which does pass.
Walking is more of a struggle. My knees hurt and I feel about 9 months pregnant! All fat and bloated. Can't even bend to pick things up without struggling.

tortoise Sad

I made minestrone soup yesterday and had 2 x bowls. I have linked to it before, but it is very filling, easy and scrummy.

Give us a few typical Tortoise days of food and let smalline and I bend it so it's healthier.

what sort of foods do you like? have you tried doing a menu plan for the week?

Tortoise · 03/01/2012 10:22

A typical day is just snacking on crap.
Making sausage hotpot in slow cooker for tonight.
Dinners when kids are at school is normally anything quick as its just for me. So chips quite often.
There's just nothing I fancy. Nothing I want in a sandwich/wrap/roll etc.
It's no wonder I look and feel like crap Sad

OP posts:
Tortoise · 03/01/2012 10:38

Sorry, that was really negative and un helpful.
I don't like fish erm minds gone blank now lol.
A big problem is having enough money too especially as I don't always get to tesco.
Soups are good.
Slow cooker ideas also good.
I only drink water so thats a positive although I do have a few beers left and baileys! Grin

I'm doing ok too today tortoise

Have 1oz of sultana bran with milk (sounds teeny but is enough)

Had Jacket and tuna, sweetcorn, tomato and cucumber and a small dollop of full fat mayo (I know it's bad, but I hate additives and stuff and it was between ds and I)

Have slimming world chips (potatoes wedges in oven with fry light) egg and beans. yum yum yum

Tortoise · 03/01/2012 17:15

Well done furball.
I've had a few not biscuits Blush.
Have done mash to go with sausage hotpot but I'm not having any with mine. About to put tree down so that exercise bike can go in its space!

OP posts:

Good going Furball

Have done a lot better today,

Porridge for breakfast

will probably have a glass of wine later.

Tortoise · 03/01/2012 21:47

OP posts:
Smalline · 07/01/2012 11:18

Oh dear tortoise I honestly feel for youSad

But please please don't give up, are your clothes feeling looser? I think that is what you should be looking at rather than the scales. It may be that you are retaining water at the moment, or all that walking and cycling you have been doing is toning up the muscles and burning the fat, don't forget that muscle weighs more than fat.

I remember years ago (pre-kids) I had put on a lot of weight when my BF (who is now my DH) moved in with me, it took some time (about a year I think) but I lost all the weight, but do you know what, I didn't have any scales, I went by how my clothes were fitting, it was great because I didn't have that sinking feeling that you get when you know you've been good all week, only to find you have put on weight instead of lost. I kept the weight off by the way and it didn't go back on until I gave up smoking and had kids some 6-7 years laterSmile.

Anyway I'm off to weigh myself now, and I will try not to be disappointed if I haven't lost any weight, cos I feel slimmer.

Smalline · 07/01/2012 12:24

I think we should have a new thread name, what do you think? any ideas? I can't think of any at the moment.

5lbs off
