Not good to confess so much badness at the start of a new thread so I'll save that for next week Blush

Sounds like a busy day for all of us!

Walked round sculpture park this aft and have been for my run just now . DH is just finishing the washing up then we are going for another 2 mile walk stopping off at the pub half way round Grin

Another 35mins in the gym this morning. Weights and cardio. We were set for a huge walk again but the rain is not encouraging us out!!

aStarInStrangeways · 23/08/2011 18:33

hey hot mamas, i am planning my return to fitness and [hopefully] slimness so thought i'd check in. have mysteriously ended this pg a whole stone lighter than when it began Shock currently tipping the scales at 9.5st, which i haven't seen for quite some time, so would love to maintain it.

atm i'm thinking: keep up my GD-influenced eating habits, exercise gently at home to begin with and work up to the Shred, start swimming and running when DD allows Grin can anyone recommend me a good Pilates DVD?

FjorgynAndHotWater · 25/08/2011 00:22

Hey star, welcome back Smile an impromptu barbecue this aft/evening has put paid to all plans of healthy living but am definitely off running tomorrow...

OP posts:
FjorgynAndHotWater · 25/08/2011 21:46

Should have said before, well done star on finishing pg 1 stone lighter ShockGrin. Can't help with the pilates dvd i'm afraid, I bought one but as have never had a proper instructor I couldn't tell if I was doing it right...

Been avoiding bread and alcohol today major achievement if the last two weeks is anything to go by and been running again tonight so hoping for a not-too scary weigh-in. Was supposed to do 20 mins non stop but didn't feel ready so ran 9 mins, walked 2 mins then ran 11 mins. My face was like this Angry when I had finished Grin

OP posts:
YougreatPamplemousse · 26/08/2011 16:24

I am supposed to be at the gym, guess who hasn't come home from work! I am pissed off to say the least!

FjorgynAndHotWater · 27/08/2011 20:55

Hope you got some gym time in the end mal.

I just can't seem to manage the 20 minute straight run Blush my legs go like jelly and my lungs ache (need to cut down smoking...) so instead have done 10 run 1 walk 5 run 1 walk 6 run which is 21 minutes altogether. Made up for all the biscuits this afternoon. Zero willpower.

OP posts:
FjorgynAndHotWater · 29/08/2011 21:31

Am so annoyed with myself, accidentally knocked off my stopwatch so not sure how long I was running for tonight but have run 2.5 miles with only 1 minute walk in there so am pretty chuffed too Grin Ran 5 minutes then walked for one minute then think I was running about 25 minutes Shock maybe my warm-up walk isn't brisk enough because my legs were like lead after 5 but just one minute of walking was enough to let me carry on all that way. I can't believe I did it! Just got to start speeding up now...

sazzzzz where are youuuuuu??????

OP posts:
FjorgynAndHotWater · 29/08/2011 21:47

OP posts:
FjorgynAndHotWater · 29/08/2011 22:04

OP posts:
YougreatPamplemousse · 30/08/2011 09:10

Morning Fjorgyn :) I am here feeling crap with a virus, sore glands and a mouth full of huge ulcers.

Fantastic work on the running - I really need to give it a go! Hope your knee is better soon.

FjorgynAndHotWater · 30/08/2011 10:35

Oh no sounds grim Sad hope you feel better very soon.

Knee still dodgy , might give i an extra day to recover and go running again on Thursday. That means I can go swimming on Friday morning and might actually get four exersazzes in next week!

OP posts:
FjorgynAndHotWater · 31/08/2011 10:07

Knee feeling a lot better today but think I will still hold off from running until tomorrow night to make sure it is properly better. Plus am already knackered from being back at work and it's only just gone 10am Shock Trying to avoid the massive pile of sweets and biscuits in the corner...

mal hope you are feeling better today.

sazz oi oi oi get your aas back over here Grin

OP posts:
SazZaVoom · 31/08/2011 12:28

Nice joke Fjorn Grin

Right. I am BACK. Yes BACK. I may be a rather flabbier & heavier specimin that deserted you 6 weeks ago, but this WILL CHANGE.

I am not weighing in till Friday as i will cry, but i can barely do my previously loose jeans up so it will not be pretty Sad

Onwards and downwards though, 7.5k run, 10k bike and 5 mins powerplate this morning and 2 litres of water drunk. Salad for lunch & turkey curry for dinner Smile

Well done on your running Fjorn, do you have a target date for your non-stop 5k? Hope the knee is holding up ok too. How are your trainers btw?

Star - bloody well done you on the 9.5 stone. That is a distant dream for me. Some swimming and shredding and you will be a toned star in no time. Go you Smile

Pample - hope you can shrug off the illness soon and great continued gym work. Do you know how much you have lost, or dropped clothes sizes?

luckoftheirish · 31/08/2011 17:52

i am here ladies broken but here... haven't visited the gym in a month Blush with no chance really til nxt monday evening, will also weigh on friday, don't think the scales have changed much but lost so much toneSad

so impressed on the running fjorny

Shock star well done Smile

mal hope youfeel better

welcome back sazz we will get back into the groove together Smile

FjorgynAndHotWater · 31/08/2011 20:55

Yay the gang's all here Grin welcome back you two I have missed you.

Sorry to hear you are bursting out of your jeans sazz but sounds like you have got back on the wagon with a vengeance Shock fingers crossed weigh in isn't too awful but whatever you will be soon svelte again

Don't worry about your loss of tone either loti, I'm sure once your DDs are safely tcked up at school/preschool you will be able to spend every waking moment have a few sessions in the gym Wink

No running tonight, knee almost fine but best to leave it for another day I think. Anyway I traipsed round Leeds for two hours looking for a leaving card for the outgoing chief exec (oh the pressure!) and legs are aching now.

According to the c25k programme I will be running 5k (well 3 miles) in 3 weeks Shock so just before we go to Ibiza!

OP posts:
FjorgynAndHotWater · 01/09/2011 20:53

Knee gone a bit wonky after tonight's run, although not as bad as before, and my face is as red as a beetroot, but hopefully that's run off the two biscuits I scoffed earlier Blush

Hope weigh in not too bad in the morning everyone...

OP posts:
SazZaVoom · 01/09/2011 21:03

Well done on the run Fjorn. Not tooo bad here although i may have munched rather too much picnic stuff Blush

Hopefully going to the Lido tomorrow so will try and do a bit of proper swimming.

Not sure if i am brave enough for weigh in tomorrow.....

FjorgynAndHotWater · 01/09/2011 21:15

I think you should weigh, even if you don't fess up how much you've put on. At least you will know where you stand and will feel re-motivated when loads drops off in the first week Grin

I am going swimming tomorrow too, haven't been for 5 weeks Shock

OP posts:
SazZaVoom · 01/09/2011 21:16

Oh no, i am quite happy to tell you lot, it is me seeing that i am in denial about Grin

SazZaVoom · 01/09/2011 21:17

How are you doing LOTI - have things settled a bit?

luckoftheirish · 01/09/2011 21:23

Well done fjorny Smile

Nothing happening here as no child care what so ever and no motivation Blush... No great appetite either tho but drinking wine the night before weigh is not the way forward BlushBlushBlushBiscuit

SazZaVoom · 01/09/2011 21:25

It is a way forward but may be rather wobbly Grin

SazZaVoom · 02/09/2011 08:38

So, 6 weeks since last weigh in and i am +1/2 stone. I guess 1lb a week is not SO bad Hmm

I am now a stone over my lowest so serious action is needed asap. Once the girls are back in a routine it should be a touch easier but i do need to get my own motivation levels back up which appear to be struggling at the moment.

FjorgynAndHotWater · 02/09/2011 08:58

1lb a week not so bad though, esp as you have spent half that time in France with cheese, wine etc. I'm sure it will fall off you quick smart.

Last summer I put on 10lb from 2 July to 3 September Shock mainly due to wine and associated snackage plus no exercise. This time over the same period I am only up 2.25lb, so the running has definitely helped because the same amount of quaffage and scoffing has gone on so yay running Grin

Am down 1lb on last week which means I am hoping to lose half a stone in the next three weeks...
