androbbob

I love the last verse of that poem. Thanks for posting it here..

I think I might have to adopt it as my mantra.

To start again means a victory is been won
And starting over again means a race well run
And starting over again proves it can be done
So do not just sit there
START OVER.

androbbob · 14/04/2011 21:14

noway - thanks for that! Wok sounds ok - I will be having a soup lunch so saving PP;s for the evening!

shoulders - bleugh - prawns = fish = yuk!! Syinky smelly fish - I no like!

Littlefish - I too thought the poem was great - a fab find be you really!!

NoWayNoHow · 15/04/2011 07:33

Good morning all

Am a little Angry and Confused this morning, if I'm honest.

WI this morning, have gained 1.5lbs!!!! Considering that my cheeky WI yesterday had me with a sts, I'm gobsmacked how a day can make such a difference, especially as I've hardly eaten in the last 4 days from being ill.

It's now TOTM, though, and (TMI WARNING) I'm massively constipated from the painkillers I'm taking, so I'm hoping that's all this is about.

Very disappointed though, feel like that level of gain is wholly out of proportion for a few glasses of bubbly on Saturday, and a BBQ on Sunday.

slovenlydotcom · 15/04/2011 07:43

the circumstances may be responsible, keep going.

Thanks for all the welcomes, I have not done well at all this week, am almost out of weekly points and do not WI until Sunday:BUT I tried on the Holy Grail of trousers in my wardrobe, which in January would not meet across my stomach and they fastened up easily- still wouldn't wear them as tight, but it reminded me of the progress so far, so I will be extra good for the next couple of days.

Piffle · 15/04/2011 07:51

Noway I had that from painkillers too but finally yesterday all went back to normal and ta da!!!!
WI!!!!!
I've lost a whole KG! 2.2lbs
Am over the moon but you'll hate me!
Earned 5 activity PP only due to foot and back
Ate all weeklies!
I'm really confused but happy lol

ClaireDeLoon · 15/04/2011 08:13

Congrats Piffle that's great

NWNH have you kept your fluid intake up while you've been ill? You could find the fluctuation is just water because your body is just holding onto it as dehydrated? No way you could gain 1.5lbs of fat in a day.

NoWayNoHow · 15/04/2011 08:18

piffle well done, that's excellent!

claire, yes have actually been drinking a lot more than normal as liquids have been a lot more soothing than food! However, I know that I blow up like a water bed at TOTM, so it wouldn't surprise me if water retention accounted for most of it.

TBH, I don't why ANY of us bother WI whilst AF is here, as it's just a waste of time and frequently inaccurate and depressing.

vnmum · 15/04/2011 09:26

morning all,

Sorry about the gain noway but it is probably the AF and you'll be surprised how much a good poo can weigh, just ask blondes, lol

congrats piffle

androbbob the thing with the C25K is it is aimed at getting you to run for 30 mins non stop which would be 5k at a reasonable/fast pace i think. There is no way i would be able to run a 5k in 30 mins but once you can run for 30mins i think it is easier to push yourself a little bit further each time to get to 5k. I didn't manage to get out formy run yesterday as had childcare and time issues so am going this morning for week6 day1. It doesn't seem bad as it's back to intervals again but like you said there is that jump from intervals to a 25 min run on day 3. will let you know how i get on

slovenly It's good when you have something that shows you how far you have come. I had clothes in my wardrobe that are my slim clothes and they are actually now too big but i have some jeans that i last wore in my very early 20's and they are my ultimate goal. I can get them up but they do not meet around my waist but before i couldn't even get them past my knees

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/04/2011 09:49

a good 6/7 lbs Grin

morning all - just a quickie as dashing out to stay at my friends :)

noway sorry you gained

piffle well done on loss and you ate your 49 Envy

slovenly welcome

i gained a lb, no moaning from me :)

Hello all ,can I join in please ? Smile
I Started WW on 16th April and have lost 10 lbs so far .
A long way to go yet though. It seems to be an easy plan to follow as long as I don't go out anywhere ,then I struggle, does anyone else find this ?
Any tips welcome, will try and read the whole thread over this weekend.
Excercise is a bit of a stumbling block ,as I have a really dodgy back (waiting for surgery), and I feel I would do much better with more of it to help tone up .

Piffle · 15/04/2011 10:33

Welcome herding and well done so far!
Are you able to walk at all? If you can manage several short walks to try and slowly boost your metabolism?
I suffer from pelvic/lower back problems and walking is all I can really stand but I can now do lots of it.

Piffle · 15/04/2011 10:34

6-7lbs blondes Shock

herdingcats · 15/04/2011 10:39

Piffle-I do walk to school and back 3x a day ,adds up to nearly 6 miles. Also try and get a couple of 5 mile bike rides in a week, I think as I'm so used to doing that though my heart rate does not really go up much. Surgeon has told me no swimming under any circumstances ,and I feel if I could I would get more cardio wise from that .
I think I have met you in RL, maybe wrong though.

vnmum · 15/04/2011 10:46

welcome herding most people use their weeklies for eating out, and planning ahead if poss is the key

androbbob week6 day 1 done. 2.1 miles in 23 min (didn't include warm up /down in that, it was just the programme) wasn't that bad although the last 5 min run i seemed to struggle with at first but then got in ma rythem and endedup adding an extra minute on the end. don't know why i struggled though coz the total running time was 18 min and i ran for 20 mins on last weeks programme but i think i actually did my first 2 runs today faster, also i think going back to intervals doesn't allow you to get into a rythem (sp?). anyway might do day 2 tomorrow, 2x10 min runs with 5 mins walking inbetween

sorry about the gain blondes but glad you are pleased it was no more Smile

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/04/2011 10:49

piffle was after Xmas and had been bungee for a while Grin

Welcome herding when did you start diet as tomorrow hasn't happened yet lol :)

OP posts:
herdingcats · 15/04/2011 11:02

Blondes- God I'm having a thick day Blush . I started 16th March.
vn- I meal plan all our at home meals, we don't go out much really. Saying that we were at MIL's house last weekend ,with constant " surely you can have that " " What are you worrying about you're not overweight". This weekend we are out for our wedding anniversary. I looked at about 50 places before I would even agree to go , Dh was not impressed. Maybe I'm taking it all too seriously, but I've never done any diet before and am worried if I'm not very strict with myself I will just give up completely.
Not sure if that makes any sense.Confused

SueSylvesterforPM · 15/04/2011 12:01

Ooh im on the tiles tonight I've saved all my pro points for tonight lol

I'm gonna make sure to ask for my spirits with diet lemonade or coke

ClaireDeLoon · 15/04/2011 12:13

Welcome herdingcats I always pick a restaurant carefully too - that said when others pick you just have to go with it and pick the healthiest bits. Relax and enjoy, that's what going out is all about!

blondes well done for taking the (tiny) gain so well.

Piffle · 15/04/2011 12:36

That sounds enough Herding similar to what I do plus I dog walk a bit.

wizzler · 15/04/2011 12:47

Welcome slovenly and mistlethrush.

Would you lot stop trying malteser bunnies... they are all mine, mine I tell you [mwah ha ha ]

mistlethrush · 15/04/2011 15:23

I'm sure I posted last night but it appears to be another of my messages that has gone awol.... I think you've probably persuaded me to give it a go - there's a lunchtime meeting not far from work I could probably get to - although I am fairly unlikely to stay to many of the meetings - I know you should, but the meeting bit really didn't help me much last time - it was the weekly dreaded appointment!

I think I tended to opt for 14 - 16 of the old-style points last time - because I could happily put weight on on the 'correct' number of points, even when I was being really good. Undoubtedly the same will happen this time - but if it gets the weight off....

herdingcats · 15/04/2011 15:51

Piffle -yes I had another name for 5 years ,then did a name change just after Xmas when I felt the need after being told I was boring having never vdone it in all the time I was on here.
Someone mentioned Malteser bunnies I have one in the cupboard but won't eat it as I don't know the points and its not on Esource, or the shop book . Does anyone know? Do you point them the same as Maltesers 29g weight?

Sarahdg · 15/04/2011 16:33

The malteser bunny is 4 pp and the caramel bunny is 3 each have just read it in my your week ww guide so go on and enjoy one I did.

SueSylvesterforPM · 15/04/2011 16:45

Great I now have to go and put something dressy on...(!) Sad

herdingcats · 15/04/2011 16:48

Sarah - thanks for that .Will treat myself tomorrow Wink
