gemmummy · 13/05/2011 21:07

Hello all just started WW today...wish me luck I am at my heaviest weight ever and I am very desperate!

wizzler · 14/05/2011 09:19

Welcome Gemmummy. Why don't you write down how Sad you are now at being heavy, and then you can refer to it if you wobble a bit of the straight and narrow a few weeks down the line. Good luck..

JoJoBaldwin · 14/05/2011 09:31

Hi gemmummy good advice from wizzler there - we've all been desperate too!

Got a nice longish walk today along the coast from Margate to Birchington. I've walked the length of the Kent coast from Whitstable to Dover apart from this little section so going to do that today and then been invited to dinner by friends. So hoping to get a good day's exercise before I'm tempted with wine or whatever.

Yesterday was very "bready" - chopped up loads of melon and put in a dish with grapes in the fridge to sort out snack attacks for the next couple of days. Planning a bns and egg brunch so i don't eat crap while I'm out.

All these contingencies we have to make!

Have a great saturday everyone x

LoopyLa · 14/05/2011 10:00
Angry

Wrote long post then got deleted - GAH

Anyway, WI today and I STS AGAIN. Not happy at all. Put 3 lbs on when I went renegade (fair enough), then STS last week (again fair enough) but the STS again??? I tracked like the devil, walked everywhere, ate healthily on a 2 day work course and still STS???

Angry Angry Angry

Am feeling very "what's the point" atm... And WW have just taken another £9.95 off me which is making me rather resentful. Grrrrrrr

Anyway Happy Saturday everyone Grin

And quick shout to NoWay - that's fantastic, you must be on cloud 9!! Stories like yours give me hope so lets keep posting those successes, they help me get motivated :)

HighHeidYin · 14/05/2011 10:42

Morning all Smile

noway yeehaaa! Well done you! What a fab feeling that must be getting to goal Envy

Well done to all the losers - have skim read as you all talk way too much!

loopy I sts too this week, which am a bit Hmm about as not been eating very much and have managed to get down the gym 3 times. But I can virtually guarantee that the loss will show for you and me next week so hang in there! Somebody wise on here said that your body doesn't know when your wi day is and sometimes doesn't co-operate to show what you have lost when you are expecting it to. But we will have lost - and the scales will catch up!

blondes hope you are ok xxx

norma missing you and hope you can pop in at some point just to wave at us!

Thanks for all your lovely messages re my dad - really helps and you are all so lovely. News on dad isn't good I'm afraid. It is a malignant tumour in his gullet. Unfortunately because of where it is they can't operate or do radiotherapy. They will put hopefully him on chemo though once he is a bit stronger and the good news (if you can call it that) is that it is a very slow growing cancer so hopefully with the chemo he will have a good while yet. He doesn't know yet as he is very deaf and didn't hear what the doctor said. Mum hasn't told him yet as he is pretty down anyway and she doesn't want to put him down even more. Nightmare.

Anyway, is a beautiful day today so off to my sister's for lunch, a sit in the garden and a natter whilst the kids play. Then will visit dad and have to stay in tonight to have my new mobile delivered. Exciting life.

Have a lovely day everyone!

wizzler · 14/05/2011 14:03

Well done for getting through the funeral.. I saw your other thread and thought the poem was lovely.

vnmum · 14/05/2011 14:06

blondes sorry to hear about the inquest, i know you weren't looking forward to it but also that you prabably wanted to get it done so you can move on. I wouldn't worry too much about WI at the moment unless it is something of a normality that keeps you going.

Welcome to the newbies.
Commiserations loopy and HHY on a STS, better than a gain though. loopy is there any reason you could be retaining water? Have you suddenly upped your exercise alot or started more toning as that can cause your muscles to retain water
HHY sorry to hear the news on your dad, hope the chemo works.

I got my new lot of weeklies on thursday and they are now all gone Blush but i am trying a theory of using them all at the beginning of my new week and then sticking to just dailies for the rest to see if it makes any difference

jojo that sounds like a nice day walking today

herdingcats · 14/05/2011 15:11

Blondes- so sorry to hear that the inquest is delayed. It must be very frustrating for you. You have got through the funeral now and that means another babystep forward . The time will soon come round for the next phase , in a few months you will be able to see how far you have come ,be strong ,everone is thinking of you. WI is not a priority atm.TC x
HHY- your poor Dad, it is difficult knowing how to approach telling him, and when .TC x

vnmum · 14/05/2011 16:30

you could use granulated sweetner and a splash of vanilla essence in the yoghurt instead of sugar and it would reduce the points. i actually had that version of eton mess as a snack this afternoon

CareyFakes · 14/05/2011 16:37

Well done on the losses

Blondes look after yourself, and I hope inquest goes ahead this time without a hitch.

I haven't stuck by any form of diet today due to having only 2 hours sleep after the copious amounts of sweaty sex, bloody starving.

tiredemma · 14/05/2011 16:58

Careyfakes. I just burst out laughing at your last paragrapgh.

You will need to replenish yourself with lots of complex carbs!!!

hmc · 14/05/2011 17:23

Blimey Careyflakes - good for you Grin
Good to hear from you Blondes although sorry about the delay with the inquest - that is all you need!
An STS for the second week running is frustrating Loopyla - did you eat any of your weeklies? Could there be a possibility that you were too good?
Sorry to hear about the diagnosis HHY - but as you say, some consolation that it is very slow growing.
Not much to report here - quiet weekend. Karate this morning (dd and I), housework this afternoon (boo), and dh goes off to Miami for 5 days tomorrow...Sticking to the diet quite strictly this week as only lost 0.5 last week and want to do better this Wednesday....

wizzler · 14/05/2011 18:36

Carey Shock you go girl... work up those activity points!
HHY , hope you had a good visit with your dad
HMC.. I go to karate too, with DS, friday evenings.. legs are still aching today so it must be doing me some good!

HeyH0 · 14/05/2011 18:45

Careyfakes Go work out your activity points like a good WW. :P

Blondes Bureaucracy sucks at the best of times... but delaying the inquest on such short notice was verging on cruel & their timing was especially insensitive. :( (I read your other thread for the first time earlier today. Blush )

HHY I know someone who received a similar diagnosis to your dad, her cancer was stage three, eight years post-chemo you'd never know she'd had a problem. Fingers crossed he has a similar outcome.

I predict a STS (at best) for me tomorrow, bloating is a spectacular pain in the backside. On the upside, I've done shed-loads of exercise this week and feel fab. :)

vnmum · 14/05/2011 19:21

carey glad the coffe date progressed Grin

androbbob · 14/05/2011 21:47

Noway - well done to you!! Grin Grin Wine Grin Grin I bet it feels great!

HHY - sorry to hear about your dad - I am sure you and your Mum are and will be strong enough to support him through this. Life is hard sometimes,

Waves to blondes - you are doing so well - sending you an MN hug

A big hello to everyone else!

Finally managed to get a WI this week and I have put on 5lbs in a month. That is not good. But then it is good as I know I need to track properly. Someone said earlier on the thread that they had come to terms that they need to track / watch what they eat for life really and I think I am like that too. I am not down about it at all but more determined to beat this. I am definately smaller than last year as I can fit into clothes that were too tight last year and some are too big. The big ones have gone. I also have several pairs of trousers and some tops that are too small. So I am aiming on losing half a stone by the end of June. Baby steps. I have been this weight for 10 years or more, so a more determined effort is required.

I also got a text off my old leader asking me to return to class - I am not able to get to the old class since moving offices and the evening ones are too awkward. But I am not doing so sucessful at home. The cost is also a bit too much = £20 a month is a lot but then I can waste that on junk and magazines! So anyway what am I to do? I will give myself until the end of the month to shift some weight and then if no real progress I will find another class that I can get to even if it is not too local. The only one that is ok timewise is a SW class. I was tempted to follow the WW plan and then use the SW class as my WI. Not sure, but need to change something otherwise will be another fat summer!

Bed time I think!

wizzler · 15/05/2011 08:54

Androbob.. half a stone by the end of June is very "do able".. we used to set ourselves mini targets every 6 weeks or so, didnt we.. to give ourselves something to focus on.

Shall I start the list ?
