Moomin amazing loss!
wizzler well done on the size 12 jeans!
benbon 1.5 is a great loss, if only I'd managed that the last 4 weeks I'd be a happy bunny now.
Carey glad your date went well.
froot I got low fat Halloumi from waitrose.

Just realised I pointed my bns bake slightly wrong, doh. Used 125g of cheese and 100g of lentils on each bake. Which brings it up to 5pp a portion (3 for the lentils and 7 for the cheese). Still not bad tho.

Tonight is OH's birthday, which I could do without. Got him the teeniest smarties birthday cake imaginable lol, but even so 1/6 is 5pp! And he's had a few tough days at work and day off tomorrow so will be wanting a boozy birthday night. Gah! Cake and booze! Hopefully I can do it in moderation.

Dinner - either quorn fajitas or mussels in garlic sauce with rustic bread.

Got a longish walk planned today so hopefully that will offset some of the damage.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 11/05/2011 09:01

JoJo, it's DH's birthday as well today. Am going to book Prezzo for lunch and have one of their light options. I looked at the Smarties cake I think but in the end have gone for individual cup cakes that are 9 points, thinking I'll have it tomorrow after WI probably. Veg soup for tea tonight with philly and crackers and digging at the allotment this morning now I've finished work. Flipping inconsiderate of them to be born today if you ask me Wink

JoJoBaldwin · 11/05/2011 09:10

Lol, I agree. What were they thinking!

hoops997 · 11/05/2011 09:13

hello ladies, well done for all the losses, I'm on week 3 of WW and can honestly say it's the easiest diet I have ever done (have tried most out there!)

I'm eating like a pig but I can feel myself getting smaller, it's so easy to track using my iphone, I wander around the supermarket propointing everything!

I have my 2nd WI tomorrow and can honestly say I'm looking forward to it :)

mistlethrush · 11/05/2011 09:28

Carey - good luck with your new excercise regime - at least it sounds more enjoyable than the norm! Grin

I will be happy to STS today as its 'one of those' weeks. I know from past experience that always tend to have one 'bad' week in four but the next week should be OK again.....

Can't keep up with everyone's losses, but all doing well!

In terms of long term - I will be trying to go low GI, and hopefully work out exactly what I can expect to eat to keep an even weight. However, I don't think I'll need to worry about that for 18 months probably. Sounds a long time, and I'd like to do it quicker, but that's a realistic option. I think this time I get to goal I will really try to keep going on a regular basis - not every week - but just often enough to keep membership live and keep a check on things.

HighHeidYin · 11/05/2011 09:52

carey Grin loving the sound of your new 'plan' - cheaper than the gym too!

hoops is lovely to hear you being so positive. This is diet is great (when you stick to it...) All the best for WI tomorrow.

Well done to moomin and the other losers or sts'ers!

Was meant to be in the office this morning but hardly slept last night to dh has let me take time to get things sorted and will go in in an hour or so. Taking mum to the hospital to see dad this afternoon. They have done loads of tests and told us last night they suspect he has cancer of the gullet. Won't know until biopsy results are back on Friday. Feel numb.

Sorry to be all doom and gloom. Helps somehow being able to write it down.

Have a lovely day all. Will be back on tonight hopefully.

hmc · 11/05/2011 11:14

Have tried to catch up on thread and now need a lie down.....

HHY - sorry to hear that your dad is so poorly, how is he doing today?
NoWay- sympathies on the school dad friend, it knocks you for six doesn't it? We lost one of our school mums from our little village school community a while a go and it is such a shock when it is 'before their time' iykwim
Debs - exciting news about your pregnancy, rooting for you!
Careyflakes - seriously, a pierced clitoris? (I feel faint....)

Well done all you losers - Lolalady, Wizzler, Littlefish, LittlefriendSusan, benbon, mistlethrush (hope I haven't missed anyone)

And Loublout that is seriously impressive - to gain only 1/2 lb following a holiday

Blondes - can understand why you can't eat, it must be like munching carboard atm and difficult to find pleasure in food or much else......Hope you are doing okay (or as okay as you can be)

WI tonight and not very hopeful. Walked 23 miles down hill and vale on Isle of Wight weekend but unwisely treated that as carte blanche to eat (and drink) more - oops! Nothing too serious, but a bit too much vino

moominmad · 11/05/2011 11:56

hiya thanks people

wynkenblynken (its sue here btw)

I'm not sure tbh, I'm on 48 poins daily allowance although I rarely have that much usually like 36/37 a day, I have poached eggs bacon etc for prtekkie rather than carbs and its high in iron I've noticed having stuff like cereal is all good but it leaves me hungry quicker.

I have alot of weight to loos so it will drop off quicker and then I'll probably plateau.

Good stuff on all losses :)

Carey good look with the dating :)

CareyFakes · 11/05/2011 12:00

Lost 3.5lbs, so now at 43lb loss and got my 3rd star stone.

HHY My thoughts are with you and your family, hope the results come back clear.

LittleFriendSusan · 11/05/2011 12:22

For IheartIona & Jojo - lentil & aubergine curry recipe:

1 onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, crushed
2 tbsp curry powder
1 aubergine, diced
175g dried split red lentils
600ml veg stock
pinch salt
100ml low-fat coconut milk
2tbsp fresh coriander, chopped

Spray pan with LF cooking spray / oil & fry onion & garlic gently till softened but not brown. Stir in curry powder & fry for another minute. Add aubergine, salt & lentils & stir to coat. Add stock, bring to boil & simmer uncovered for 30-35 minutes, stirring occasionally to stop sticking. Lentils should be tender and mushy, if not, boil rapidly for few minutes. Stir in coconut milk & coriander & serve.

I don't follow to the letter: last night I added mustard seeds & onion seeds after frying onion & garlic, and used Patak's curry paste not powder. Also added chopped chilli as I like a kick to my curries! I find I have to add more water, and I prefer my lentils with a bit of bite still. Had it with a Sharwoods mini-naan (3PP) and used full-fat coconut milk, which made it 6PP per serving. Got leftovers for lunch today, yum yum!

androbbob · 11/05/2011 12:31

lola - the IE7 'thing' and name checking - there are several tabs on IE 7 just below the toolbar and above the actual web page - they are pale blue/ grey - you can have several different pages of the internet open at the same time look here for tips

What I do is have MN open on two tabs - read in one and then use the other tab to write in, so flicking between the two.

Does that make any sense??!!

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 11/05/2011 12:55

2.5 lb loss today - I have 5 lb left to goal now, with a 7 award and 50lbs award to reach before it! I can honestly say I feel like a new person.

My little DD2 started solids this week - any guesses as to what veg I gave her first?!

Well done carey and I'm guessing the date went well?
Congrats to all the other losers, and thanks for the recipes, will also add the curry to my meal plan!

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 11/05/2011 13:00

hhy sorry to hear about your dad. Hope the results come back quickly and they can make him more comfortable.

LittleFriendSusan · 11/05/2011 13:11

mistlethrush - no, unfortunately not standard loss for me... it's been fairly slow but steady! I seem to STS for a few weeks or lose say 1/2lb, then have a more substantial loss. Though I almost always eat all of my weeklies and at least some of my activity points, so not complaining!

benbon - 1.5lb is a good loss, don't be disheartened!

loublou wow, well done on only gaining 1/2lb on AI - that's not bad going at all!

moominmad - wow 6lbs is a fantastic loss!

tiredemma welcome and Grin at the amphetamines! Not sure it's the best long-term solution though Wink.

littlefish - am interested to hear you grew squash in pots - thought they would be too big! Well done for 1/2lb loss :)

wizzler well done on 1lb loss and size 12s - yay!

Lola well done on 2lb loss. I namecheck by having 2 tabs open like some of the others said. Or 2 windows with the one I'm typing in sized smaller so easier to switch between them.

Carey - glad the date went well and fingers crossed you get lots of sexercise in the not-too-distant future Grin

Wynken glad to hear the allotment going well! Apparently I should be able to take my friend's over in a week or so...

HHY sorry to hear that about your dad and really hope biopsy results are clear.

hmc - good luck for WI tonight!

Wow that was long!

Did W4D1 of C25K last night. My, that was tough. 2 x 3 min runs & 2 x 5 mins. Well pleased that we managed it, as really didn't think I could do the 5 minutes. To think that 4 weeks ago we struggled to run for 1 minute...

Have just eaten my leftover curry and a LF yogurt. Got a pile of cookery books on my desk as the Book People have been in to work, so thought I would peruse for a while. Some very nice looking salads & tagines. And cakes. Drool. Really should do some work today though!!

LittleFriendSusan · 11/05/2011 13:17

Careyfakes & Shoulders - x-posted, great losses!

Can't remember who asked, but I have 3lb to go to be within healthy weight range (haven't actually set an official goal yet?!) - 10st10 is upper limit of healthy BMI for me. My ultimate goal is 10st though, so 13lb to go. I've been 9 1/2 stone before, but any less than that I look ill. Think I'd struggle to maintain at 9 1/2 so figure 10 is more realistic...

LittleFriendSusan · 11/05/2011 13:19

Just read my post back and to clarify, curry recipe is 6PP notnincluding the naan bread. Wouldn't like to mislead anyone! Serves 4.

LittleFriendSusan · 11/05/2011 13:19

Gah. Not including obviously.

loubloutwinmum · 11/05/2011 13:31

HHY - sorry to see you are going through such a difficult time - hope your Dad will get his results soon. Such a worry.

LittleFriendSusan - will def try that recipe for lentil and aubergine curry - sounds really really nice.

HMC - I was amazed with only a 1/2 lb increase as I ate a lot, including pancakes and pastries at breakfast & had pudding(s) every single evening too and drank quite a lot of wine - more than quite a lot. But the kids did keep me busy and were in and out of the pool with them and swam a few lengths each day! Really hope your weigh in goes well tonight.

Had a lovely tea last night - made a vegetable lasagne (WW recipe but added more spinach and tomatoes), then did a rocket and mixed leaf salad drizzled with balsamic vinegar and griddled little plum tomatoes and asparagus (that I had blanched) then tipped them onto the salad with fresh black pepper and a few parmesan shavings - was lovely! Whole meal was only 8 points so then had meringues with 0% Fat greek yogurt and strawberries and raspberries and a sprinkling of icing sugar (4 points) - really enjoyed it.

Hope everyone with WI's gets on OK today/tonight.

teaandcrumpets · 11/05/2011 15:16

Ladies! Haven't checked in for a while but thought I'd say hi...

My current weight loss (since January) is 2st 9.5 lbs. I have just bought a very pretty summer frock from Laura Ashley to celebrate being able to shop in "normal" places again. It's a lovely feeling. :)

I hope you're all doing and feeling well as summer approaches!

mistlethrush · 11/05/2011 16:06

1lb this week Smile (I'd have been happy with sts after the previous week!)

JoJoBaldwin · 11/05/2011 16:11

teaandcrumpets I feel very jealous, wish I had been good and lost the same amount since jan but think I've only managed about 10 pounds. Well done!
HHY really hope the biopsy is clear, must be an awful time for you.
Susan will definitely try the curry, sounds amazing.

Just been told I didn't get the dream job I went for last week. Bah humbug. Haven't retreated into chocolate at least. DH not home from work yet but then there will be birthday cake and vodka. Only eaten 8 points so far today to try and keep within normal point limits!

vnmum · 11/05/2011 16:59

hi all,
well done LFS, benbon, moomin, wizzler, littlefish, lola, carey, mistlethrush on the losses
Lou That is really good that you only gained 1/2lb over a holiday, it would seem that you have adopted a healthy eating lifestyle and are obviously able to make good choices. A good sign for maintenance Smile
welcome tiredemma
Carey glad the date went well
froot thats not a bad gain, considering. You'll have that off again next week
hmc glad you had a nice time on the isle of wight
HHY sorry to hear the news on your dad, sending my best wishes

I have WI tomorrow, not sure what i'll do to be honest. it's been a funny week. Stayed mainly on track, then had a slightly off track few days, then got ill and hardly ate for a day and today so far i've had 4 pp and a bit of chocolate as still not overly hungry so we will see what the scales say tomorrow

NoWayNoHow · 11/05/2011 17:19

Hey all

Sorry I can't name check, this thread is too fast and even since Monday it's too much, but from scanning, I'm glad the date went well, Carey and sorry to hear about more complications with your dad HHY. FWIW, my grandfather was admitted to hospital with 90% certainty of having bladder cancer (based on what the drs could tell from his symptoms) and they were totally wrong. Always best to wait until tests come back before forming any conclusions (and I personally think that drs who worry their patients and patients' families withouth conclusive evidence are being irresponsible. Just my opinion having been there!).

Well, final WI tomorrow before holiday, and I'm not particularly hopeful! It's TOTM, I've swollen up like a water bed and I only have 14 weeklies left. Still have 5 dailies for dinner tonight, but unlikely that I'll stick to that as there's nothing in the house (in preparation for being away) so I might end up with something weird like BNS with grated cheese and crumbled meringue nest!

On the other hand, there's a third of a bottle of REALLY good red wine left over from last night - definitely a 5PP liquid supper?

wizzler · 11/05/2011 18:00

Well done Carey, Shoulders, Lola, Mistle and Little..

Littlefirend.. you and I might be twinnies!. I need to lose about 13lbs to get to 10stone , which is within helathy BMI for me .

carocaro · 11/05/2011 18:09

I just joined WW online and paid via Pay Pal yesturday lunchtime, had email from Pay Pal saying payment waiting to go through, but nothing from WW as yet, does it normally a few days to get set up?
