lost 1.5lbs this week... feel abit disshartned... unsure why as i like to lose 2lbs per week... 1.5 just seems so much less!!

mistlethrush · 10/05/2011 13:41

Benbon - 1.5 is good though - I'm steeling myself to lose at 1lb a week if I'm lucky - although might manage a tiny bit quicker to start with.... I'm sure I'll get to the situation where 1/2lb is a real achievement!

herdingcats · 10/05/2011 14:13

Carey - hope the date went wellSmile and you didn't show him your piercing 's just yet Wink
benbon- I know how you feel .I have lost 1.5lb almost every week, was so down last week when it was only 1lb. Felt a bit silly when the leader said "a loss is a loss".
I'm hoping for good things on Wednesday WI as I have not used any of my 49 spares, have earned 35 activity and only used 7 of them.
Trying to be positive ,but will have that ominous feeling when I go up to the scales .
We're having Greek tava for dinner tonight 13PP ,with Greek salad 2PP.
Sounds high but ,I will still be at 29PP by todays end .

Hi Ladies,

Well, I am back from a lovely holiday in the sun - was fully inclusive so have really enjoyed myself Wine

Tried to catch up on about 12 pages but scan read mostly but was delighted to see you back on here Blondes - was so sorry to hear about your husband, there are no words. If we can provide you with a bit of normality on here (unlikely as that sounds - I for one am not at all normal), then that is great.

As some of you may remember I got to goal before my hols and maintained for a week. Really had a great time away but ate loads and was expecting to have put on quite a few pounds. So when I had my WI yesterday, was lovely surprise to find I had only gained 1/2 lb! So pretty pleased and back tracking this week although due to a colleagues birthday at work, I was attacked by a chocolate cup cake this morning!!!

I must say I felt very good on holiday - I cannot say that swimwear will ever be my friend - having twins made sure of that - but I felt so much more confident 3 stone lighter. If I walked around with a sarong over my swimwear, I actually looked in pretty good shape - from a distance, if the sun was in your eyes!

But now I have to get into the habit of maintenance and still living a real life - cannot strictly count points forever. So trying to train my brain to point meals and options and then quick add and track! Will see how I get on when I WI next Monday - although TOTM is looming....

Will try to read more later on and catch up with where everyone is at but it is nice to be back.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/05/2011 16:39

well done benbon and lfs

lou glad you had a nice holiday

carey nothing like a coffee date!!! Grin

JoJoBaldwin · 10/05/2011 16:44

lou well done on not putting loads on while on holiday! Maintaining should be a breeze if you've managed that!
susan aubergine and lentil curry sounds right up my street, would love the recipe.

Last nights dinner of bns/aubergine/lentil/halloumi bake as lunch for my ww buddy today and she was raving about it - we were both stuffed after so all good for 8pp.

Just eaten 10 points so far today. So texted hubby to bring a curly wurly home with him. Wink

tiredemma · 10/05/2011 16:49

start ww tonight (its either that or I purchase amphetamine from somewhere)

Can I join you???

moominmad · 10/05/2011 16:56

I lost 6lbs this week

in total i've lost 11.5lbs :)

CareyFakes · 10/05/2011 17:42

Wow, wish I could lose 6lbs lol

Coffee date went well, we spent the rest of the afternoon together, watch this space!

WI tomorrow eeek

froot · 10/05/2011 18:35

Quick post -2 questions:

Where do you get low fat halloumi - never seen it round here
Anyone trying to grow their own bns ?

Put on a half at WI not bad as not been 4 weeks and birthday Easter etc in between !

Littlefish · 10/05/2011 18:37

Low fat halloumi from sainsburys.
I've grown bns in the past. It's very easy. We grew it in pots on our drive.

HeyH0 · 10/05/2011 18:55

Tiredemma Welcome. I think WW will work out cheaper than amphetamines long term. Wink (As long as you don't go nuts buying WW gizmo's and food... )

Carey Sounds like fun was had. Exciting. :D

Deb Congratulations! Fingers crossed everything works out this time around.

JoJo I'm salivating, your lunch sounds delish. I wish I didn't loathe cooking so... (That said, today I've cleared freezer space & ordered a load of veggie cookbooks from Amazon, I'm hoping inspiration will strike... Hmm )

I'm bound to have missed someone or something significant, apologies. Back later.

HeyH0 · 10/05/2011 18:59

Froot BNS is easy to grow, but there are tastier winter squashes. How much space do you have?

wizzler · 10/05/2011 19:24

1 lb off this week... 3rd silver 7.... and I bought some size 12 trousers AND THEY FIT!

Welcome Tiredemma.

Moomin, that is Shock but I am a bit Envy

Littlefish · 10/05/2011 20:33

Half a pound off for me this week Smile.

tiredemma · 10/05/2011 21:03

Well I joined.

Just trying to get my head around it all Confused

any lunch and dinner ideas appreciated.

LolaLadybird · 10/05/2011 22:00

Hi All. Have got a bit behind over last few days so too much to name check but well done to all those that have lost. I had WI this morning and lost 2 lbs which gets me to my 5% goal - a small milestone but still a nice feeling, has definitely motivated me.

Can anyone explain what IE7 is in the context of name checking?? {dunce emoticon}. The only way I can name check is by trying to remember names (!!) or keep going back and, once you've previewed your message it's difficult to go back. Am I missing some significant bit of techno know-how?! :)

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 10/05/2011 22:00

jojo I have just included low fat halloumi and an aubergine in my online shopping order for next week! (tesco stock a low fat halloumi too!)

Depends on where you live as to how easy it is to grow BNS - my Mum is an ace gardener, and has tried it a couple of times, in Scotland it's just not so easy to get a decent crop - too wet and dark here!

Some fab weight losses again, wow at 6.5lb in a week moomin!

welcome emma, WW definitely a better choice than amphetamines.

I have my WI tomorrow morning, hoping for another 1 lb off at least, getting close to goal now though, so might start to slow up I suppose!

I have some nice cod in the fridge for tomorrow night, any recipe ideas? I might go and have a look around the WW site.

IHeartIona · 10/05/2011 22:03

Moomin, benbon, wizzler and Littlefish - well done!
Froot- I am growing some butternut squashes this yr too, I've got three or four in my greenhouse growing on. Will try to keep them alive!!

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 10/05/2011 22:13

tiredemma if you scroll back a few pages, you will find the gospel according to froot which contains some very good tips for starting off!

froot · 10/05/2011 23:12

Heyho I have a big garden but it's dank and dark and mOssy and due to an enormous beech tree slap bang in the middle which blocks all the light and thanks to a tpo we are not even allowed to have it trimmed so I am using grobags on the patio . I have just planted 20 seeds and they are on my windowsill at the moment.

Have just done a tesco online shop and found skinny halloumi and am all set to try the venison Wellington the halloumi bake and the feta asparagus next week !!

froot · 10/05/2011 23:15

Iona cross posts - I am the worlds crappest gardener I am sure - we will have to compare notes . I even try to stick to plastic houseplants . Death by dehydration is the usual problem .......Decided to grow bns as seem to eat them 5 nights a week at least at the moment !!!

LoopyLa · 11/05/2011 07:27

Hey ladies, loving all the discussion about what we need/want to do in the long term, WW is great for now but what happens when we all (& I have no doubt that we will!!) reach goal?

Anyway, somehow I've reduced myself to lurker status so need to try and get on here more often . I do need to report that I STS last week (WI was Saturday) which is ok considering I had put 3 lbs on when I went renegade.... Blush

And for those asking about IE7, I may be wrong but I think Andro was complaining that the Internet browser isn't up-to-date enough or fast enough...could be wrong though!

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 11/05/2011 07:37

Congratulations to the losers, especially Moomin, what did you do to lose that much?!

I had a first attempt at butternut squash last year and got 13 off 4 plants I think it was. Stupidly I didn't take them out the shed before the frosts and lost most of them. We are down south though so have good growing conditions. Our new allotment is taking shape and can't wait for the summer when I can go and pick the veg for dinner everyday. There's a grand opening for allotment on Saturday so been busting a gut to get it in shape and hoping I lose a pound or two in the process so I can enjoy the free cream tea.

CareyFakes · 11/05/2011 08:03

Eeek WI this morning, really hoping for 1.5lbs, so close to my 3st midway point.

How much more have you all got to lose to get to goal? I've got 51.5lbs (groan) to go

I'm hoping I get a boost to loses with the epic amount of sex I'm intending to have with this new fella Blush, been too long, I blame the lack of sex for my weight gain not my over eating and laziness
