[blondes] am so happy to see you back you have often been in my thoughts last three weeks . Glad to see you kicking a few bums too !!

Not been to WI for four weeks going to go on Monday . Need to shift 4 lb to get back to my mental goal of 9 St 9 and wd like to do it in 3 weeks as going to a conference so am going to try n avoid using weeklies at all .

Think will drag myself outta bed in a min (teenagers get themselves up n out yay ) and have a boiled egg . Then work meeting (boo hiss- it's my ruddy day off ) then meeting mummies for breakfast so I expect I will succumb to a bacon buttty but will pick all the fat off ! Then tap dancing class for an hour should cancel out the bacon butty ! Sarnie for lunch ( the little ww tuna sarnie fillers are yum) and ww recipe bns and chorizo lasagne for tea it's yummy scrummy . Also will fit in day 3 level 2 shred with dd . Arse still sore from doing it 3 days ago !

Just bought 2 fab underwired upholstered bikinis in Debenhams which actually work wonders on my (droopy) boobs for cruise this summer (am not caring about world seeing my gross stretch marks they dont look as bad with a suntan and loose skin doesnt show when horizontal !!) and bought bottoms in 12 and 14 - 12s too small at the moment have 28 days to decide which to keep ......

NoWayNoHow · 05/05/2011 08:40

blondes thanks, I'm quite chuffed, but not a little scared!

froot, I know the feeling about the stretch marks Angry I hate them so much - no matter how much weight I lose, and how much I tone my stomach, I still look like it's covered in crepe paper... Oh well, you're right about the sun tan - does make them look better. Oh, and I reckon you'll EASILY be in those 12's in 28 days Smile

CareyFakes · 05/05/2011 08:52

Congratulations NoWay, great news!

You'll smash that Froot easy

mistlethrush · 05/05/2011 09:32

I'm quite interested in the GI side of things too - whilst I think that the Propoints take it into account, if you use it to help inform your food choices, I think that you can make your food work for you better.... For instance, I have muesli for breakfast - because I can have 50g for 5 points - but because its a relatively low GI (oats are good) it doesn't give you a big initial sugar hit and then leave you feeling empty. I then have a veg-heavy lunch - at the moment soup normally but will be swapping to salad - I'm not too worried about protein during the day, so that keeps the points down. Supper I'm also having a huge plate of veg with some protein - last night I did sucumb to a very small amount of rye bread - I could have sat down and eaten the whole loaf toasted and buttered - but didn't. So I can then use remaining points up on having eg low fat yoghurt and fruit.

So, for anyone that's struggling to keep to their points allowance and feels hungry a lot - try to swap to lower GI alternatives.

I do get very Envy at people that can eat a huge number of propoints worth a day and still lose weight though -I'd happily put on weight if I did that Grin

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 05/05/2011 10:42

Sorry, can't catch up as have been AWOL for quite a few days. Blondes, lovely to see you back again. Noway congratulations on the job.

2nd WI at my new WW group and 2lbs off, so finally have reached 4 stone loss. Most of this week's loss has been down to digging my new allotment, am very very tired !

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 05/05/2011 10:44

Froot keep the 12, it's really motivating to have something hanging up that you're trying to get into. Like the horizontal and loose skin theory !

CareyFakes · 05/05/2011 11:17

Wow WhnkenBlynkenandNod Great loss

vnmum · 05/05/2011 12:07

well done on losses wynken herding and shoulders
Congrats on the job noway

I am reporting a 1.5lb gain this week. I'm not surprised with my messing about this week (was hoping a toilet trip before WI might have helped but alas it looks like fybogel tonight, tmi)

So i did 30 mins yoga this morning on the kinect and am hoping to get out and try a run tonight, this is the start of my new back on the wagon approach, even more spurred on by the weather report on the radio this morning saying it will be hot till june with max temps 30C. I want to feel comfortable wearing the summer clothes

froot · 05/05/2011 12:17

Might keep both sizes wear 12 first week then 14 second week as will have gained loads weight by second week ha ha !!!

ClaireDeLoon · 05/05/2011 12:25

Well done Carey mistle (wow at 5.5lbs!) herding NoWay wynken and shoulders on losses :o

Sorry you gained littlefirendsusan hopefully tracking and running you will have a good result next week.

vnmum sorry about your gain, but liking the idea of hot until June! Preferably hot until the end of June as we're on hols in the Highlands the second half!

Welcome back HHY and good luck with starting again and starting at the gym.

Welcome and good 3rdtimes

I sts this week which I was quite pleased about as was expecting a gain as I haven't tracked at all this week and we went out for an indian meal on Sunday plus lots of vino over long BH weekend.

herdingcats · 05/05/2011 12:47

Working- I don?t struggle most days on29PP
Today for instance, breakfast- coffee, toast +butter and banana 5PP
Lunch- hummus, mini breadsticks, cherry toms ,cucumber sticks and apple 4PP
Dinner- crofters pie and broccoli 11PP
So today I will have 9PP to play with for treats, so I will probably make a pudding
My op is to have my spine fused and a cage to support where my disc has ruptured and de-hydrated. Final option due to further symptoms (too embarrassing to go into)
Shoulders- 45lb is fabulous
NoWay- massive congratulations on the job
WhnkenBlynkenandNod- well done
Vnmum- keep your chin up, its only 1 week( as my leader would say) Wink
If I've missed anyone I'm sorry ,not vvery good with remembering all thats been said Blush

ClaireDeLoon · 05/05/2011 12:57

I don't struggle on 29 a day either, so keep my weeklies for weekends. Today for me:

Small bowl of muesli and milk - 5PP's
Banana mid morning
Pret sushi, pret crisps and an apple lunchtime - 14PP's
Dinner is chicken breast marinated in spices, roasted BNS and 2 tablespoons of sweetcorn - 7PP's

Probably have some yoghurt with the leftover points.

NoWay forgot to say congrats on new job! :o

herding good luck for op that sounds like a big ordeal.

SueSylvesterforPM · 05/05/2011 14:30

don't loose faith vnmum

herding good luck

Noway congrats on hew job too!

just finished my last essay and I feel like having chocolate now lol noooo Blush

NoWayNoHow · 05/05/2011 18:18

wynken congrats on loss, good result!

vnmum sorry for gain Sad

CDL result on sts after Indian and wine! Tell me your secret!

herding your op sounds like a very big deal, hope you're okay and glad that it's getting sorted out.

Sue well done on managing to finish an essay with a migraine!!!! I highly recommend stocking up on boxes of After Eights - they're only 1PP each, and are so sickly sweet that one is plenty to give me my chocolate and sugar fix all at one time.

I don't know if any of you are asparagus fans, but the season is upon us, and I just made a LUSH started/side for main if you're interested?

Bunch of asparagus, trimmed and washed, stick in bowl, drizzle a tsp of olive oil over with some salt and pepper and coat the asparagus. Spread out on a baking tray and put in an oven that's as hot as it gets for about 10mins. Whilst it cooks, add another tsp olive oil to the bowl along with lemon juice and roughly chopped mint, and kinda squish it around so that it's a chunky dressing.

When the asparagus is done, serve on plate and drizzle with the dressing. Then crumble about 20g low fat feta over it and eat up!

3PP for the olive oil and 1PP for the feta and it is really, really tasty.

herdingcats · 05/05/2011 20:20

NoWay - that sounds lovely . I even have a bunch of asparagus in the fridge. Did you know normal feta still only has 3PP?
That may even be tomorrows lunch, so I don't have to share it with DD as she loves asparagus.
Op is daunting ,but better than constant pain and trouble with normal living. Also at risk of incontinence as a side effect of my back, that I can definately do without Blush

Sooperdooper1 · 05/05/2011 21:13

Hello, I have just joined on the recommendation of my good friend and fellow ww partner. Looking forward to getting to know you all and reaching goal. So far I have lost 11.5lb since January, slowly but surely :)

NoWayNoHow · 05/05/2011 21:17

Hello sooper! Well done on your loss so far and welcome!

Sooperdooper1 · 05/05/2011 21:22

Thank you very much, it's always good to have some extra help and others to talk too :)

hoops997 · 05/05/2011 21:54

Hello all,

I had my first weigh in today and have lost 3.5lbs, are v. happy with this and only have 6.5 to go til my 5%.......woo hoo loving this propoints, have eaten like a pig all week!! Grin

hmc · 05/05/2011 23:57

Bollox - just lost a detailed post!

Well done losers! (careyflakes, mistlethrush, herding, Noway and hoops), and commiserations Vnmum on small gain

Also well done NoWay on new job Smile

Managed to lose 2.5lb on Weds eve WI, now cumulative is around 49lbs and I am teachers pet Grin

Working - there are several foods in your list I wouldn't eat - baguette, peanut butter, toast, sausages; because either they use too many pp and and/ or are dieters bete noir (white carbs!). That said, I do struggle to live within 29pp but then I think I have a high resting metabolism. I use all my 49 weeklies every week - and pretty much lose every week (had a couple of weeks STS over past 5-6 months) but then I do a sweated work out including cardio and resistance training every day for circa 45 minutes, and have quite a bit of lean muscle mass which burns the calories....If you want to lose weight in a sustainable way I think you need to change things (permanently) and do the whole skimmed milk thing tbh

Off for a walking weekend on Isle of Wight tomorrow with 3 girlfriends - there will of course also be beer [horned devil emoticon]. It's my 43rd birthday on Sunday (gulp) and it just occurred to me that I once said I wouldn't be fat and 40. Well I am definitely no longer fat and only 3 years adrift of my target, so it is a victory of sorts!

Hope everyone has a cracking weekend with lots of fun tempered by proper willpower!

CareyFakes · 06/05/2011 07:51

Have fun hmc, sounds like my kind of weekend!

And well done on the 2.5lb loss. I agree with the having to change the way you think and eat, I feel confident that by goal weight, I'll be of the right frame of mind (am already but don't want to run before I can walk lol). Making better choices, realising certain things and foods are ok in moderation, and learning portion size!

wizzler · 06/05/2011 08:17

Quick post as am supposed to be taking DS to school!

Welcome Sooper... you will like it hear I am sure
Congrats Noway on the new job.. recipie sounds lovely.. I didn't know Feta was so low in PP.
hmc Well done on your loss, have a good weekend jolly and a happy birthday
