Lost 2lbs! So so happy, had a bad day Friday but managed to claw it back with epic activity point earning!

Only 2.5lbs off 3st...my halfway point! Can't wait

LittleFriendSusan · 04/05/2011 11:48

Hello all :)

Blondes great to have you back :)

Vnmum welcome back to the fold Wink

Some good losses this week - how on earth have you managed that with 2 bank holiday weekends?!

I was so close to not going to WI on Monday, but made myself... and had put on 2lb in 2 weeks. Hey ho. So I am back where I was 3 weeks ago (as had gained 1lb at previous WI too). I've been good and tracked everything since Sunday though so hope can recover a bit by next week.

I didn't do C25K at all last week either due to stuff on / kids at home / friend not well, so that didn't really help. I was really missing it by the weekend though! Anyway, I am back on track again - we went out last night but decided to repeat W3D3 rather than attempting W4 after a full week's break and overindulgence. Thank god is all I can say as that was tough! Have started the dreaded Shred too (did it Sunday & Monday) and didn't find it as hard as I thought it would be, but bloody hell do I feel it in my legs today! Going to brave it again tonight though - I thought if I can alternate running & Shred I should start to see a difference soon...

Had porridge & berries for breakfast today, leftover tuna & rice salad for lunch (from the WW mag this month. Rice was a bit bland IMHO so think will add a bit of dressing today). Have lots of veg to use up so I think I will do an aubergine / courgette bake type thing for tea... kids are swimming till 6.00 so I can shove it all together before we go out and get DP to pop in the oven when he gets in.

Good luck to all WI today :)

mistlethrush · 04/05/2011 14:52

Back after a week away with in-laws (ideal way to start) but have managed to lose 5.5 lbs in 2 weeks (1.5 more than I was hoping) so v. pleased! Does help being allergic to chocolate, so I can't help ds with his easter egg collection Grin

Blondes - those jeans look great! Envy

HighHeidYin · 04/05/2011 15:10

blondes so SO lovely to see you here! Have been thinking about you loads over the last few weeks.

And yes very Envy about those skinny jeans... just Sad about the lead up to them.

Sorry I have been AWOL for so long. Wasn't getting to class and have lost a pound, then put on two, then lost 3, then put on 4 etc etc. So basically just been messing around.

So have decided it's time to stop messing around. Have lost a stone with WW which is fab but have another 2 to go. So have taken out membership to a gym (love, love their zumba classes!) and have changed my WW membership from esource to online. Did this because am having difficulty getting to classes regularly, and it is slightly cheaper, which makes up for the gym membership cost.

So am back basically. Will have my WI on my scales on Friday mornings.

littlefriend do you run alone or with a club?

HighHeidYin · 04/05/2011 15:11

mistlethrush well done! That's fab! Envy

HighHeidYin · 04/05/2011 15:12

Oooh and carey Grin

And all the other losers on here who put me to Blush

working9while5 · 04/05/2011 15:27

Hello again

vmum what is the shred?

Wow there are some BIG losers on this thread, it's inspiring!

I was really pleased to see that WW online still registers my 2st loss from last year! Woo hoo!

Quick questions about PP:

  1. do you tend to use your weekly points? I am on 29 basic and finding it tough going...
  2. breastfeeding points - I only bf morning and evening most days with the odd day with extra feeds but I can't imagine that at 17 months it's using up much cals so I ditched the extra points this time as it is so much less than last time. Bfing points would give me 7 extra PP so I am thinking that maybe I will just do my basic and weeklies and see how it goes... is this reasonable?
mistlethrush · 04/05/2011 16:05

Working - I theoretically have more than 29 - but not using them. Sticking to 29 and that's it. Sometimes resorting to a glass of wine to use up the last points of the day Blush but at least it stops me starting on the bread or crackers or something Grin - I'm avoiding wheat products as I'm sure that's my downfall - if you can't eat bread, pizza or pasta I find the points stretch further - but I'm also going light on the dairy too as its really easy to use a lot of points on that.

CareyFakes · 04/05/2011 16:20

I don't use my weeklies, and I don't often use my Activity points either, but they are so handy for 'one of those days' when you fancy a treat or you have a social event.

I use my daily allowance to the last point, as that is important. I try and even out all meals, my breakfast is 6pp, Lunch is 8pp and Dinner is usually 10-14pp, then I have a yogurt, some fruit with meringue and lowfat cream. That's my evening treat

vnmum · 04/05/2011 17:03

well done carey and mistletoe, what a fab loss
working the shred is a dvd by jillian michaels "30 day shred". It is a bit hardcore and is a circuit type workout, 3 min strength, 2 min cardio, 1 min abs, here. if you search on youtube it is on there aswell. Alot of people on here have had good results from doing it and the bonus is it is only 20 mins of pain, lol

3rdtimesacharm · 04/05/2011 17:31

Hi all. I've just restarted WW after having dc 3. Loved points and lost two stone on it after dd2 so trying to get my head round propoints. Lost 3lb first week but only half this week. Am exclusively bf and have so far used the extra 14 points but am wondering if I should use less even tho ds eats a lot. What are other people doing re the extra 14?

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/05/2011 17:39

well done careyflakes

lfs sorry you gained

mistlethrush well done

hhy yes im pleased to be in them, but not the way i got in them iyswim

sure my arse looks big in them lol

working im not the best person to ask, if i eat more than 25 of my 49 i gain or sts

others lose 2/3lbs a week by eating 49 Envy

OP posts:
HighHeidYin · 04/05/2011 18:24

Am sure you look just gorgeous blondes

working I think you just have to try the weeklies and see how you get on as everyone is different. I can lose on about 3/4 of the 49 but if I eat them all I don't lose, and if I don't eat any I don't lose either Hmm You need to find the balance for you.

All this talk of the shred is making me feel very ashamed that I haven't done it for ages. Will need to start again...

Been good today. And am off to race like a loon with the hoover round the house as dd1's boyfriend is coming round tonight and the place is like a tip! That might burn a few ounces...

HighHeidYin · 04/05/2011 18:28

Hi 3rdtime Smile Can't personally answer your question as am not bfing any of my children atm - my girls range from 9 to 18 so if I did it would possibly raise some eyebrows...

Grin
herdingcats · 04/05/2011 20:40

Well done all who lost.
BlondesEnvy at your skinny jeans, I know how you did it is not how you wanted to . But if feeling good in them helps then so be it. TC Smile
I have just got back from WI and lost 1lb this week, That is my 1st stone.
Girl who has started going with me told me tonight she only has 6lbs to goalgreat . Not what I need to hear when she's only been going a month !!!!!!
Sorry for mini rant, just having a bit of a wobbly week . Heard today about 1st part of a big op is next week . Then it will be everyone shouting "don't Panic" as I am totally terrified about it.

working9while5 · 04/05/2011 20:44

Thanks for the responses. Don't you find it, erm, really really hard at just 29 points? I have to eat "normal" food. I can't be doing with all this eating ultra low fat butter and skimmed milk and artificially sweetened stuff just to lower points, it just does my head in. I could have the 5 pt per 100g Sainsbury's Light Pesto, sure, but I'd rather learn how to have less of the good and tasty stuff (Jamie Oliver's is 12pts per 100g) as I know it's my own personal recipe for recidivism. Portion control is my demon and I find "lite" foods just don't help with that, as when I switch back to the "good stuff" (and switch back I will, I've been at this game on and off for 15 years) it leads to pound creepage.

At 29 points, I find that after lunch there is hardly anything left for dinner e.g. yesterday I had 3 slices of halloumi cheese with some salad for breakfast, a half baguette with hummous and crudites and yogurt and fruit salad for lunch, a packet of air-popped popcorn for a snack, a beef and veggie stirfry and a sweetcorn cobette and that was, well, it. Today I seem to have used up 34 points on 2 slices of thinly peanut-buttered toast (9 points)and a banana, a 2 egg omelette made with fry light and one slice of ham with some mushrooms (8 points - large eggs), 2 fancy butcher's sausages with butternut squash and a potato and cobette (14 points!! No added oils!) and a small muller rice. I reckon that's about 1300-1450 calories - are those of you eating only the 29 points not starving e.g. 2 sausages today were 254 cals but 10 points, and more than a third of the days eating if you were just using 29?

working9while5 · 04/05/2011 20:45

herdingcats well done on 1st lost! What is your op if you don't mind me asking?

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 04/05/2011 20:55

Reporting a 1lb loss here - that takes me to 45 lb altogether! Have set my goal weight now, Would like to get there by 4th June if I can, as have a night out with my big sister to see Take That - we last went to a concert together about 15 years ago... to see Take That Grin, so would like to be the same weight that I was then!

3rdtime I am still EBF my 5 month old, I don't use my BF points as I'm full at 29 points, I don't think I would have lost anything like the same amount of weight it I'd used an extra 14 points a day - as it is I think of them as a safety net for things I've underpointed, and I don't use my weekly points really at all.

gah, battery flat... well done weigh in day buddies!

wizzler · 04/05/2011 21:01

Working... I am most peckish mid morning so I woof fruit down.

This morning, I ate special K with skimmed milk (5), then a kiwi fruit when I got to work. Then a banana at 10:30, and a milky coffee from funny machine (2). I allow myself (2) points for the milk in the tea I drink all day.

For lunch I have a M&S low fat sandwich (7), plus one of their fruit salady thinks Mid afternoon I have an apple.

So I now have 13 points for an evening meal. I had home made beef casserole ( loads of veg, but not much demon potato), with broccoli), and I reckon I have enough points left for a teeny glass of wine before bed.

Hope this helps...

working9while5 · 04/05/2011 21:28

wizzler that sounds like.. very little food! I would be starving on just Sp K and fruit - I have to have protein with every meal or I find it just evaporates.

For people who go to meetings, what do leaders say about the weekly points? I thought you were supposed to use them? Confused

working9while5 · 04/05/2011 21:42

3rd time, I lost weight while bfing on the old WW but I always used all my bfing points.

I did find that the weight loss was different while bfing to other times I've lost weight in my life. Before ds was on solids, I found it hard to lose weight no matter what, it would go down 2lbs, up 1lb, down a half lb, then plateau.

After 6 months when he was on solids, it changed a lot. It was still a bit up and down for a bit - 3 lbs, then no loss for 2-3 weeks, then 1lb, then half an lb etc but I stuck at it and went from 13st 12 to 11st 11 in four months. I went off ww then but haven't gained anything since November and am back now to try get off that final stone!

I just took it easy and did lots of walking but I always used all my points and it was fine! If I ate less, I felt it in my milk supply and would sometimes be a bit shaky!

SueSylvesterforPM · 04/05/2011 21:48

NoWayNoHow · 05/05/2011 07:20

Morning all

Sorry, there's no way I'll be able to name check everyone I've missed, but noticed some good losses so congrats.

Did WI this a.m. a day early as I want to be able to WI again before I leave for the wedding next Friday, but won't be able to do it on morning of flight as too rushed.

Looks like I've lost the 0.5lbs I put on last week, so back to my record low weight and still with a week left to do some frantic sit ups and leg exercises to see if I can remove some of the jiggle.

All this losing weight malarkey is playing havoc with my wallet - it seems like I'm chucking something else onto the charity pile virtually every day! No matter, though, because...

I HAVE A JOB!!

Only DH and DS's nursery know in RL, but I'm so excited to be going back to grown up world after 4 years, and so excited about the little bit of extra cash it'll bring in (although quite a lot of the salary is going to go on DS's extra nursery fees!). Oh well, at least it'll just be for 18 months before he starts school (he would have to go and be old for his year) and then it'll all be mine!

Hopefully I start beginning of June, so that will be markedly less MN time for me - probably a good thing as I'm totally addicted on here a bit too much!

Good luck for all WI's today!
