Oh hmc that'd bug the hell out of me. People don't think! I tell people I have another 4st to go and they all go 'no way, thats too much', how do they know?!

I've always been the fatty, not so much now!

Wow Blondes Shock. Do you have any belts? I've never worn a belt, digs in to my fat belly lol

dukanvirgin · 03/05/2011 17:03

well done on the losses so far. Fab news about the jeans blondes
hmc they're probably just jealous

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/05/2011 17:05

vnmum · 03/05/2011 17:22

hi all, dukanvirgin is me,i name changed for the dukan thread. although i have been over to the dark side for the past 3 days i am admitting defeat. I haven't lost loads of weight like your supposed to and i am fed up of meat.
I decided to give it a try coz i was finding i was cheating on crap with ww and just going over my points with cakes and general stodge but it felt like i had no control over it. I thought the dukan would get my carb cravings under control like it says in the book, and although it has to a degree, i can't live like this for the foreseeable future.
I do feel like i am more in control of my eating now as i have had to be very strict but it just isn't worth cutting out a food group and not getting anymore of a loss than eating a balanced ww diet.
So kick up the arse expected, lesson learned, i am starting a fresh ww week on thursday

hmc · 03/05/2011 18:22

Thanks ladies - I am trying to ignore them! - its just like they seem to think that because I was once fat I can't aspire to being slim.

Bet you're looking slinky in your jeans Blondes

Vnmum - are you just about maintaining at goal or have you strayed a bit from goal weight?

benbon · 03/05/2011 18:31

hay lost 2.5lbs today so very very pleased... giving me my 10% and my little keyring which i have proudly put on my keys to remind myself that im doing well...

although all ive done today is eat so now i feel sick!!! Sad

vnmum · 03/05/2011 18:44

hmc I did put on about half a stone over the house move in feb and the following weeks and haven't really got my act together to get back on the wagon and track properly. I think because we were eating alot of takeaways etc while we were packing and unpacking the unhealthy habits crept back and i found it hard to break them. I had started losing again and last WI i was only 1.5lb over my goal weight. I do want to lose some more and i think i wanted a quick kick start but it didn't work so i will stick to what i know best and that works.
I think the other thing that bothered me was knowing that i will have to count points for the rest of my life to ensure i don't put all the weight back on and that seemed daunting so the dukan idea of being able to eat normally 6 days a week but still keep the weight off appealed, although i am not sure how that would actually work because my eating normally would involve cakes and chocolate, pizza etc so i can't see how i would be able to have free reign to eat that and not put the weight on just from having 1 protein day a week.

I do obviously need to have some form of control mechanism in place or i will just yo yo, gaining the weight over the move proved that i can very easily slip into old habits

vnmum · 03/05/2011 18:45

well done benbon

hmc · 03/05/2011 18:59

Well done benbon !

Vnmum - I think you've done brilliantly in tackling a 1/2 stone gain before it turned into a stone and now you have shifted most of it! It is too easy to let it drift and incrementally regain the lot.

Re counting points for the rest of your life - this is something I think I've accepted I will have to do. I believe we almost certainly will have to do this; because otherwise it is so easy for the weight to creep back on stealthily...and there is so little difference in terms of food choices between STS and gaining. It's a small price to pay though for staying slim and healthy?

CareyFakes · 03/05/2011 19:39

Well done on the loss benbon

Vnmum, I'm well off my goal yet, but I keep thinking about when I have to maintain, and that I'll forever be pointing foods, but as hmc says, it's a small price. However, you realised you were eating wrong, noticed that something needed to be done, that's a HUGE step in maintaing!!!

wizzler · 03/05/2011 19:45

Well done Benbon.
Noway.. get back in here and explain yourself
HMC.. ignore them
I lost 2lbs today. yippee!..
Blondes.. well done for wearing skinny jeans... still feel that is someway in the future for me, but I have a uni reunion weekend in July and I am on track to be 10 stone then, which would be fab.

vnmum · 03/05/2011 20:02

thanks hmc and carey for your supportive words. I think i have accepted that i will have to monitor my food for the rest of my life but hopefully it won't be that hard as i will know the points values of most things i regularly eat so hopefully it won't mean a lifetime of filling in a tracker.

Well doen wizzler on your loss

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/05/2011 20:47

well done on loss benbon

CareyFakes · 03/05/2011 20:56

Well done on the loss Wizzler

I just checked that Dukhan site to see my true weight, and it's a stone heavier than what I want to be, and I would still be classed as 'overweight' on my BMI.

I actually can't wait to just be 'overweight' on my BMI scale, only another 16.5lbs before I can jump up and down having fallen out of the Obese Class I level lol

benbon · 03/05/2011 20:56

thankyou... i think being on this thread really helps... i dont want to come on here with a gain... Smile makes me keep going back every week... makes me think goal is acheivable

wizzler · 03/05/2011 21:55

Littlefish... where are you.?. I am sure you WI on the same day as me.. come on .. tell us how you got on!
Benbon.. I agree.. coming on here means I have a posse of people who are happy to talk about WW, and that keeps me focussed

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/05/2011 21:56

Hello all

Some fab losses on here! Well done everyone.

I've lost another pound and a half. That puts me one pound away from losing 3 and a half stone Smile.

vnmum - I too am slowly realising that I will have to count points for the rest of my life. My overeating is a form of eating disorder and without eating consciously and carefully, I will end up back where I started. I know that I don't ever want to do that, so counting points is actually the easy option.

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/05/2011 22:35

littlefish well done on loss :)

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 03/05/2011 22:38

Well done wizzler and Benbon great losses!

Ver' mysterious noway you've really built it up now, whatever it is!

WI tomorrow for me, I might set my goal with my leader as well. Think I'm going to go for 10 stone. While the argument for setting it higher and saving money appeals, I think I need the discipline of meetings and aiming for something for a bit longer!

ShouldersBackAndNoBiscuits · 03/05/2011 22:39

Well done littlefish too!

CareyFakes · 04/05/2011 07:21

Well done Benbon and Littlefish

Got my WI this morning at 10am, aiming for a 1.5lb loss to keep on track to reach my 3st target on the 18th May!

Good luck today Shoulders

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/05/2011 07:34

good luck with all who are wi today

Morning all
Grin at blondes arse in jeans comment
well done littlefish
good luck to all WI today

I am currently trying to work out and exercise plan so i can get more exercise in. I was put on more antibiotics last week as my chest still hadn't cleared so i've finished those now and although i am still coughing a bit of gunk up, i am no longer tight chested so i need to get out for a run and see how i fair, then i can plan what exercise i am capable of doing. Can't do it today though as DS off school. I want to start the shred AGAIN (4th time lucky, lol) and see what other exercise i can fit in around my runs and family life. I think that is going to be the key to maintaining. If i can get in the routine of enough regular exercise then i won't have to be as paranoid about food (but obviously not pig out)

ClaireDeLoon · 04/05/2011 11:00

Hi all and well done to losers benbon Sue littlefish lola tawdry and wizzler

Carey I'm also counting down to dropping out of obese and into merely overweight! I have 4lbs to go and it's a mini goal in my head even though not an official WW one.

vnmum good luck with starting the shred again - I tried it last summer and didn't stick at it but I'm onto something like day 43 now of doing it since beginning of Feb and I can definitely see the difference it makes.

Good luck for your WI carey hmc shoulders herding and anyone else weighing in today!
