Welcome one and all to our 6th thread

If you're just starting out or you've been following WW for a while and you're looking for support you've come to the right place!

There are lots of regulars who are well on their weigh (get it! ) Grin and others who have just joined us - we're a mixed bag, all shapes and sizes and all with different goals to achieve but we're all striving for the same thing. We're all here to will one another on with advice, support and lots of cheering! :)

Androbbob is our resident stat checker and keeps us motivated by totting up the total weight loss each week.

So far we have lost an amazing 147 lbs since jan 2011 Shock

We're quite fast moving at times so just dive in - pour yourself a Wine or Brew and make yourself at home :)

May I join this thread? I'm just back on ww and after a shaky start with the propoints (everything seemed a lot higher in points than it used to) I think I'm in the 'losing weight' mindframe again.

I've lost 8lbs in 2 weeks, so am pretty pleased with that. I need to lose 3 stone ideally but I'll be thrilled with 2 and a half.

I had forgotten how much I loathe cutting up butternut squash, it's all coming back to me now though Grin

wizzler · 30/04/2011 15:48

Blondes... I am so glad you have come back to the thread..We all missed you.

Well done for getting to goal, although obviously not in the circumstances. Even I ( who didn't know your DH other than through your stories) felt like throwing in the WW towel when I heard your news, so like Heyho said. well done for not just turning to booze and crap food to get you through. Thought about you so much over the last 2 weeks.

Please kick me soundly up the bottom as I have sinned with much cake and many buns at street party yesterday.. and am nibbling away at any unattended easter egg.

( In return I will gently remind you, that you need to eat properly)

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/04/2011 15:48

welcome somethingsuper

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/04/2011 15:50

wizzler kicks heartily up the arse!!!

i do eat, but generally once a day as just cant manage it

OP posts:
wizzler · 30/04/2011 15:53

Ouch!

Welcome Somethingsuper

You probably do this anyway, but dont peel BNS, the skin softens when cooked and you cant taste it.. even in soup!

CareyFakes · 30/04/2011 16:05

Why 'o why have I been buying unpeeled BNS and having used Rubber Gloves to hold and peel it....argh

Right, will cook it with skin on

SomethingSuper · 30/04/2011 16:16

OMFG I have butternut calluses from peeling and chopping the 6 I bought this week. Screw that then, peel stay on henceforth!

SomethingSuper · 30/04/2011 16:18

I also think you're incredible for trying to maintain some normality, Blondes. I wish you much love and strength.

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/04/2011 16:25

i have to try and be normal as laying on the floor crying/screaming doesnt pay the mortgage/bills etc

doesnt mean i dont do that, but cant do it 24/7

Welcome back Blondes you are doing really well to even come back to the thread, take a day at a time and all you RL and MN friends will be there to support you in any way they can .
Can I suggest you set a timer for yourself to remind you to eat even if its only a piece of fruit or something. I was the same when my Dad died , and it makes you so tired ,not eating, that everything else seems much harder. HTH < hugs>

hoops997 · 30/04/2011 16:47

Hello all,
Can I join? I have just started WW, after years of battling the bulge, now am v. determined.......I was on the biggest loser but found I couldn't survive on 1200 calories a day! So now have embarked on the WW journey, you seem a friendly lot :)

blondes sorry about your DH, did lurk on your thread but felt as if I didn't 'know' you so didn't feel right writing on the thread, but have always had you in my thoughts

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/04/2011 16:55

welcome hoops indeed we are friendly :)

thank you about dh

SueSylvesterforPM · 30/04/2011 17:04

welcome back blondes

hmc · 30/04/2011 17:56

You were on the biggest loser hoops?!? [hmc goes temporarily star struck] - which one were you?

hmc · 30/04/2011 17:57

Oh - you probably don't mean you were on the show but rather, that you followed the diet Blush - I find the first thing to go when you are eating less is a few IQ points Grin

CareyFakes · 30/04/2011 18:06

haha hmc

I too had a moment of 'Oooo on The Biggest Loser' Blush

LolaLadybird · 30/04/2011 18:29

Lovely to have you back Blondes - it hasn't been the same without you.

Welcome Hoops and Super

Trying, and mostly managing, to be good after yesterday's transgressions. Am relying on the exercise to save me this weekend - have been on 2 separate 7 mile bike rides today to get my points out of the minus figures.

hoops997 · 30/04/2011 19:06

ha ha Grin I wasn't actually on the show!! I was following the diet which was ok cause I lost a stone in 7 weeks but it was hard going, I felt really deprived all of the time.......I filled myself up with water cause I was so hungry all the time

Anyway thank you for the welcome, I have found it hard to eat all of my points today and still have 10 left, any ideas Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/04/2011 19:10

wish i had 10pp left on aday

not surprised on tbl they lose so quickly as they dont eat anything

also why all most put the weight back on :(

take jodie , got to an 8 and now a 16 in candy cabs

OP posts:
SomethingSuper · 30/04/2011 19:15

Oooo 10 points! Do you like chocolate? Or maybe a few gins/wine? How about a burger? (salivates)

I've got butternut squash chips in the over, with some chunky cod and lots of veg. Then I've got 25 points for wine and crisps or something.

(swims forcefully through ocean of own saliva)

CareyFakes · 30/04/2011 19:35

I have no points left, and no extras as still at -10...

DD with my sister tomorrow so I can revise have a break so will go for a mamouth walk and get at least 15 points to salvage the diet!

This has been my worst week, it really has and it's a shame as I'm only 4.5lbs from halfway!

SomethingSuper · 30/04/2011 19:41

I promise I'm not a representative of the butternut squash industry, but if you do 'chips' with them (cut into chips, spray with frylite/one cal, add salt, pepper and paprika) they are wonderful Grin

Tasty, very filling and 0 points. Well worth having in for when you've got no points left, or with tomato sauce of you've 1 point left.

CareyFakes · 30/04/2011 19:47

Do you keep the skin on for the chips?! That does actually sound amazing, I love paprika, and I love chips, and I love Squatternut bush, winning combo

CareyFakes · 30/04/2011 19:48

I usually make a batch of Squatternuts and Chilli soup for the week, which is 0 points, but I was hungover this morning and failed to bother Blush.

SomethingSuper · 30/04/2011 19:59

Well they're not like actual chips (they are much softer) but they are lovely and really filling. I peel them but like someone said above, you can leave the skin on. Seriously, they are ideal for a snack of an evening. I use loads of paprika and some people ise chilli flakes but I dont fancy that.
