well done on the loss claire and glad you're ok with a STS wynken

I am thinking of blondes alot too, i hope she is manageing to cope with life at the moment and i'm sure noway will be able to pass on our messages that we are all thinking of her

mistlethrush · 21/04/2011 14:47

I had jumbo oats (50g) with soya milk for breakfast (7pts) and have had a can of soup for lunch (yummy)(4pts) with some grapes - had a banana mid morning (I can see I will need to watch those).

But that's what I'm used to eating. Except I avoided having a packet of crisps with my soup.

Piffle · 21/04/2011 14:52

I sinned and had a whopping homemade thai curry last night and much beer
it felt GREAT
I am 15 over on weeklies Blush but unapologetic!
It will be a miracle if I STS and I don't deserve too either
Am thinking of blondes as she is my WI partner too but one can only imagine how difficult her week has been :(
Well done on all the losses, seriously top efforts ladies!
I will be more focused truly next week!

hmc · 21/04/2011 15:22

Well that certainly sounds like accurate propointing Mistlethrush.

I've got a much bigger appetite than you methinks! I had 60g of porridge oats (6) made with 140ml skimmed milk (1), + 15g raisins (1) and cinnamon. Was hungry by mid morning so ate 2 mini pepperamis (usually go in ds' lunch box during term time) (2), and a home made smoothie with banana, strawberry and natural yog (2pp - in the yog). For lunch I had 1/3rd of a pot of BGTY houmous (1), with vegetable crudites (0), 2 ryvita (2) with low fat philly (1) and half a sliced avocado (4), plus a weightwatchers yogurt (1)...and I've just had a highlights hot choc (1) and an apple (0) so am already up to 22pp for the day. Will have no trouble hoovering up 7pp for dinner - the problem will be containing it within 7! This represents a marked reduction in what I used to eat pre diet!

Piffle - I think you need a damn good nosh and hang the consequences every so often!

mistlethrush · 21/04/2011 15:31

perhaps just writting down what I'm eating and knowing that I've got a WI coming up will be what helps me to lose. It meant that I didn't eat crips at lunchtime after all.

Its not that my appetite is not good - its that I seem to be able to get by on an unfeasibly low amount of food - same happened last time when my friends and I started WW together - I was being ultra good and lost at under 1lb a week. I suppose the main thing is to actually gradually lose some - even though it will take an age coming off at that sort of speed.

And I was going to the gym 5x per week last time... something that I can't do now :(

hmc · 21/04/2011 16:14

Yes be careful not to undereat Mistlethrush - it can torpedo weight loss; hence perhaps you being ultra good previously and losing less than a pound per week?

I'm often quite bad Blush and my weight loss is averaging 1.5-2lb per week

mistlethrush · 21/04/2011 16:19

But the thing is - how can eating more than I have been make me lose weight? I'm pretty good on the low GI stuff - eat lots of veg etc. I think its going to be all about portion control and not accidentally having pizza everynow and then. Having to write things down and go and get weighed is a great incentive!

Cunning timing - I'm going to miss my 1st week WI because I'll be away. But you have to start sometime.

CareyFakes · 21/04/2011 17:30

I have a nutritionist and Personal Trainer friend who states that eating too little can cause weight gain. Your body gets mixed messages, so when you don't keep feeding it regularly, it'll cling to what you feed it intervally.

Keeping a steady and healthy diet, with the right amount of acitivity is the only way to lose and maintain weight loss. That's why WW is good, it gives you the tools to teach yourself.

Eat the 29 points, don't question how it works, just enjoy it lol. Working out too much in terms of exercise can also halt weight loss as fat turns to muscle and weighs more.

HighHeidYin · 21/04/2011 19:07

blondes Have only just found out. So so sorry to hear about your poor dh. My heart goes out to you and am thinking of you. Wish there was something I could do to help.

Sad
mistlethrush · 21/04/2011 20:09

I'm going to hit 29 sucessfully. Smile

Don't worry, I'll stop being so needy once I've got the hang of the 'new' points system a bit better.

HighHeidYin · 21/04/2011 20:10

Haven't been here for ages Blush Been messing around with the diet really. Still attending class but keep putting on a few pounds then losing them again so not actually lost anything for a month!

Having a weekend away with dh (19th anniv) but will get back to it next week. Smile

CareyFakes · 21/04/2011 21:33

Oh no, I hope my post didn't come across as rude Blush

I tried to figure out how it worked then just stopped and it worked lol

smokinaces · 21/04/2011 22:06

Hi girls, hope you dont mind me jumping in from the other weight loss thread. I went and saw Blondes today, and wanted to share with you all that she is reading the messages she is getting and thinking of all the girls here and she will be back here one day soon. She's doing ok, lots of friends and family round her. And she also said she will kick butt on anyone who doesnt lose weight this week!! Good ol' Blondes Grin

NoWayNoHow · 21/04/2011 22:29

Ah, smokinaces thank you SO MUCH for letting us know. I had hoped that she was still checking up on us even if she wasn't feeling up to posting. Glad she has so many people around her, and that she's doing ok.

Missing her on here and thinking about her loads.

HighHeidYin · 21/04/2011 22:50

Thanks very much smokin So pleased to hear she still has her sense of humour!

Glad she has lots of support too. Give her my love and will be lovely to see her back when she is ready Smile

hmc · 22/04/2011 00:39

Smokin - thanks for that update - good to hear news of Blondes - we love her to pieces and she has dominated our thoughts over the past week, and will continue to do so. Hope to see her here when she is ready - but completely understand that this might not be for some time.

NoWayNoHow · 22/04/2011 07:15

Morning all

Just popping in to record 2.5lbs off (although1.5lbs of that is TOTM from last week, I reckon). Still really pleased considering I only started tracking properly again on Tuesday. Now only 2lbs to go to goal.

Not certain how long it will last with [busmile] this weekend, and my friend insisting on doing an Easter egg hunt on Sunday (for the adults, btw!)

Oh well, will just try to be good as much as I can whilst still enjoying myself and tracking as accurately as possible.

Good luck for any WI's this morning! (Blondes thinking about your Friday WI's and missing the hard hat/crouch in a bunker attitude of us all until we'd had the good news!! Hope you're okay, thinking about you all the time xx)

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 22/04/2011 08:48

Noway well done . Can't decide if your friend is lovely or a PITA with her Easter egg hunt !

Smokin thanks for letting us know. Don't want Blondes to damage her foot on my arse as she has enough to deal with, without having to kick butt, so pledge to lose 1lb this week despite Easter Eggs, that will get me to 4 stone .

hmc · 22/04/2011 10:03

Well have started the day with a BGTY hot cross bun (5pp without butter) - broke my no 'cake' rule for tradition's sake ...but have to say, didn't enjoy it. Was cloyingly sweet. Should have had a soft boiled egg!

Good result NoWay -well done!

Meant to say, welcome back HHY

Just dawned on me last night that I have been on a diet for 6 months!! -quite impressed with myself for sticking with it. I really do think that this time the weight will be lost and kept off for good.

NoWayNoHow · 22/04/2011 10:18

hmc I love hot cross buns, as does DS - they are frequently breakfast for me [bublush]

I know what you're saying about being on a diet - I know technically it's a diet because the aim (at least initially) is to lose weight, but I frequently find myself thinking of it as "a different way of eating" or a "healthy eating plan". I think that's because it's just so different from other fads diets I've done before - it's so sustainable and you really can do it for 6 months and stick to it.

I heart WW.

wizzler · 22/04/2011 12:15

Welcome back HHY, you have been missed
Smokin, thanks for the update. We have all felt really helpless.
Blondes, thinking about you a lot. The worst thing about MN is that you can't give someone a proper hug.

hmc · 22/04/2011 12:41

I wouldn't feel [bublush] about your penchant for hot cross buns Noway - after all it hasn't stopped you from being a whisker away from goal weight!

SueSylvesterforPM · 22/04/2011 13:15

meeting up with friends in MCD's soon eeeek!!

had a good look in my eat out book and decided on hamburger and small fries

would a diet coke count as points??

Piffle · 22/04/2011 13:47

Well WI was baaaaad
Have put back on nearly 2 lbs
But back on proper tracking And discipline lest Blondes need to whip my butt! Bless her so glad she's got tons of support x x

malteserbunny · 22/04/2011 15:40

well done noway on that loss. and commiserations piffle on the gain.

smokin thanks very much for the update on blondes and i'm so glad she has got plenty of support in RL at this difficult time. Thinking of her loads.

I ended up having to have a rushed MCd's for lunch today and had to make a quick decision as DH was driving through the drive thru (we got caught out with traffic and had to eat before kids got grumpy) so i ended up having a chicken legend mayo med meal, probably not the best choice 15pp for the legend and 9pp for the fries but at least i didn't blow my 49 yesterday like i usually do so i am safe so far. going to have chicken salad for tea while DH and kids have sausage and chips but i don't mind in this weather and actually prefer the salad when it's hot outside

We are going for an egg hunt and picnic on monday, does anyone have any picnic ideas that are good on WW? was thinking maybe a salad or some sushi with carrot sticks and fruit
