Busty Babe With GSOH Seeks SW Partner for Weigh-Ins, Bad Jokes & Barely Veiled Self-Loathing

All right, when you've un-cringed from the above -

I'm about to (re-)embark on Slimming World and since I have neither the time nor the funds to go to classes could really do with a coupla pals for those delicious weekly morning weigh-ins. Is anyone interested? I guess it would be ideal if we were all SWing, but it ain't essential. It's the praise or blame I need, alongside willing recipients of lengthy descriptions of the size of my arse Grin.

Few stats (and needless to say we needn't go in for actual weights here)

I lost 3.5 stone a couple of years ago on SW, and have gained about 20lb of that. I KNOW! Silly bint.

As a first step I want to lose 10lb because this will take me into the 'light enough for IVF' category (I have 6 months left before referral for fertility treatment and if not pregnant by then would like to arrive in the pink of health).

After that I would like to lose another 10lb and say 'hello stranger!' to my sad neglected wardrobe of vintage frocks.

Finally, if you are interesting in hanging out, would you mind awfully looking in the mirror and checking that you actually are properly overweight?! Because nothing would depress me more than celebrating getting into a size 16 dress, when everyone else on the thread was lamenting finding their size 10 skinnies a little snug Hmm

Right. I'll now sit back and await rejection. Alpine my luvva, if you're reading this do join!

Bloofer - yes I would totally put down the loss this time round not been as good to teh fact you're now over 30. Sorry but I noticed a big difference once I hit 30. And it gets worse the older you get. Am only 34 but SW is a lot harder than when I was 32 and lost over a stone without really trying.

When I was in my 20s I could go on holiday and pig out, put on 7lbs. Come home and go back to normal eating (not dieting) and I'd have lost the 7lbs within 10 days without trying. When I was 30 did the first part but the weight never came off, ditto the xmas weight, then the next holiday.........

VivaLeBeaver · 04/05/2011 10:26

Meant to say well done on losing the pound!!! Its in the right direction.

Pinkjenny · 04/05/2011 10:29

This is a lovely thread. Can I join? I rejoined SW in December and have lost half a stone Blush since then. Which is pitiful. I have been going up and down the same 3lb since January.

Need to just bloody well get on with it. My wardrobe is bulging with clothes that don't fit me, and frankly the situation is becoming ludicrous.

AlpinePony · 04/05/2011 10:31

Can I just quickly chip in and say that if anyone says:

i) relax and it'll happen
or
ii) have you read TCOYF?

They will be rugby-tackled, beaten and sat upon by the fat TTC-ers. Thanks.

Now for something really controversial. I have only ever lost significant amounts of weight when either not-eating or using lots of Class A's.

Diets are shit - anorexia and cocaine is where it's at.

AlpinePony · 04/05/2011 10:33

Welcome pinkkenny - Would you like to swap your 3lbs with my 3lbs? Hmm In light of your wardrobe revelations, is it time to reveal that I'm currently sat in my office and there's a wardrobe behind me bursting with clothes I can fit in to (with any sense of decency). I bet if we threw all our ill-fitting clothes in a big pile in the middle of someone's front room we could all find some stuff which fitted beautifully.

Anyone else's wardrobe run the gauntlet from 12 to 24? Hmm

I've got some make-up for swapsies too.

BlooferLady · 04/05/2011 10:35

Welcome, PinkJenny! why do i know your name?

I'm with Pony on the whole TCYOF/Relaxing front . Unless there is a medical problem to be addressed - and thank God in my case there isn't - it is pure fucking luck. No more, no less. Utterly random luck of the draw.

I'm also with you on the 'how to REALLY' lose weight front. I went through a phase of living on fruit and diet coke until dinnertime and then having a light SW meal. That dropped me 4-5lb a week for a fortnight .

. I'm so OLD! I think you're right Viva. I want to say thanks but as you've depressed the saggy old tits off me not sure I can raise a smile Grin Grin Oh look I just did !

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Swap party!!!

Mine only go from 14-18, but that's ebcause I threw away the stuff that went up to 24/26 (this was years ago thankfully) and have never even HELD a size 12 garment Hmm

MadameBoo · 04/05/2011 10:38

:o Alpy

Pinkjenny · 04/05/2011 10:39

BlooferLady - I'm slightly concerned that you know my name. Have we argued in the past? I'm not generally a confrontation MNer, but I'm a right bitch cow in RL. Grin

AlpinePony - That is impressive, mine extends from 10 - 18.

I have lots of ishoos regarding weight. I haven't read the entire thread (fail) are we posting weights? My main problem is that once the dc have gone to bed, I want to dive into a fat of lard and wine. Oh, and my mum thinks I'm fat, so nuff said.

Pinkjenny · 04/05/2011 10:40

I have only lost lots of weight when I was utterly miserable or completely ecstatic. Currently, I am neither.

AlpinePony · 04/05/2011 10:47

pinkjenny Quite frankly that's a pathetic attempt at a "my mum's a bitch" storyline. You need to run with something with a little more punch, e.g., (my mum) "Darling, I don't know how anyone could find someone overweight attractive", or "women with backfat repulse me".

That pretty much led to me only having drunken sex with strangers for 15 years. (Not constantly obviously, I had to work 9-5).

Pinkjenny · 04/05/2011 10:54

She prefers the subtle, disapproving approach, tbh. But I can't really blame her, I'm overweight because I like to eat. I could eat all day. And some days I do.

Shock at the backfat comment

The thing that pisses me off the most, is that my mum has gone from a sixe 8 to a size 12 in the last few years. Now, although she is clearly still very slim, I wouldn't DREAM of commenting on it.

fishandlilacs · 04/05/2011 11:00

Used my "ever so slightly less guilty" clarins today and my poor tight face feels like it's been pampered to within an inch of it's epidermis. Feels so good.

I now why I had that spur of a moment splurge...... It's because i'm worth it :)

or maybe thats loreal.

Pinkjenny · 04/05/2011 11:03

Can I go on the list

I have erm, 35lb to lose.

AlpinePony · 04/05/2011 11:06

jenny You need to send a PM to "OnlyAPhase" and give her your target - i.e., 35lbs, your loss this week and your total loss. You don't need to tell anyone how much you really weigh, but should anyone ask you could cough and mumble "108lbs".

Pinkjenny · 04/05/2011 11:11

I think my left boob weighs about that.

BlooferLady · 04/05/2011 11:11

Nah, I never argue on MN. I'm either sweetness or light or (according to some) desperately passive aggressive Grin . Anyway nice to see you!

Nah, not posting weights unless you feel so obliged. Just target loss, overall loss, and loss this week...

OP posts:
VivaLeBeaver · 04/05/2011 11:11

PinkJenny - half a stone is great. I rejoined SW in Nov and am the same weight now as I was then.

BlooferLady · 04/05/2011 11:11

gigantic x-post FAIL there Grin

OP posts:
C4ro · 04/05/2011 12:33

Re: C4ro- it's for dull reasons, I wanted Caro but all variations I tried were taken and I was on a massive one-track mind thought that would not be derailed onto anything remotely witty, fun, or in any way less shit.
I managed 1.5 lb off this week. Unfortunately it comes mostly from the not-eating rather than sensible-eating sort of weight loss so still lots to fix and still 21 lbs to go. I have been out walking more and deliberately using the car less for local stuff.
To the TTC lot- ruddy good luck. I will join you in about 6 months but not before, the idea of 2 under 2 gives me the utter shudders. I know I was considered old for DD so part of me thinks I should start now as I'll be pushing my luck anyway; the flipside is that actually wanting it to take 12 months to happen would likely result in some sort of lightening lucky strike and I'm not brave enough to risk it. My colleague at work decided to have a fourth kid and, lo and behold, natural triplets! The fickle gods find that sort of trick most amusing.
I would love to wardrobe swap! On that theme when do you give in and make that brutal wardrobe pruning? My wardrobe covers 12-20 at the moment. When I came to Holland 6 years ago, I could fit in size 10 but I threw those all out a couple of years ago as a lost cause. Do I have to face the facts on the 12's too?

cheepcheepchoconora · 04/05/2011 12:49

sorry to the ttc'ers Blush

C4ro - what I do is go through all my clothes and say to myself even if I was that size TODAY, would I wear that item? a lot of the time, the answer is no so I bin (charity shop)

BlooferLady · 04/05/2011 12:51

No worries Cheep, you don't get sat on by dint of being a Day of Doomer Grin.

OP posts:
BlooferLady · 04/05/2011 12:52

(of course if you'd actually used the word 'relax' Grin)

OP posts:
cheepcheepchoconora · 04/05/2011 13:02

I would never say that word Shock

I was incapable of relaxing when TTC either of our DC's! First time around I temped / charted / the lot Grin

BlooferLady · 04/05/2011 13:05

Grin See? RANDOM.

Meh. It's all a big old pile of wee. And the longer you TTC for, the less tolerant you get of people suffering miseries when they have been TTCing for like, one week less than you Hmm. I do a lot of "Disappointed? DISAPPOINTED?!?!?!?!? TAlk to me in 6 months' time, bitch!" Except in 6 months' time they're usually up the spout.

Disclaimer: as you can see I am in no way bitter.
