Busty Babe With GSOH Seeks SW Partner for Weigh-Ins, Bad Jokes & Barely Veiled Self-Loathing

All right, when you've un-cringed from the above -

I'm about to (re-)embark on Slimming World and since I have neither the time nor the funds to go to classes could really do with a coupla pals for those delicious weekly morning weigh-ins. Is anyone interested? I guess it would be ideal if we were all SWing, but it ain't essential. It's the praise or blame I need, alongside willing recipients of lengthy descriptions of the size of my arse Grin.

Few stats (and needless to say we needn't go in for actual weights here)

I lost 3.5 stone a couple of years ago on SW, and have gained about 20lb of that. I KNOW! Silly bint.

As a first step I want to lose 10lb because this will take me into the 'light enough for IVF' category (I have 6 months left before referral for fertility treatment and if not pregnant by then would like to arrive in the pink of health).

After that I would like to lose another 10lb and say 'hello stranger!' to my sad neglected wardrobe of vintage frocks.

Finally, if you are interesting in hanging out, would you mind awfully looking in the mirror and checking that you actually are properly overweight?! Because nothing would depress me more than celebrating getting into a size 16 dress, when everyone else on the thread was lamenting finding their size 10 skinnies a little snug Hmm

Right. I'll now sit back and await rejection. Alpine my luvva, if you're reading this do join!

Oh no, I am sorry about your Nan IWill Sad. Is always a bit scary cos you don't know for a bit how bad it's going to be. Hope she makes full swift recovery. And hoopla on the loss Grin

colditz · 20/04/2011 12:25

I didn't manage to get into town to get weighed, and have no scales of my own. I will weigh myself either later or tomorrow, promise.

BlooferLady · 20/04/2011 12:27

I wasn't hounding I promise! I'm just really fucking nosy caring Grin

AlpinePony · 20/04/2011 14:08

Workout FAIL! :( In the style of Romy, I had to finish my workout after 25 minutes as "my shoe was filling up with blood". That's right folks, so unused to running are my poor feet that my heel blistered, burst and bled all inside 25 mins. Superb! Hmm

vanillaplease · 20/04/2011 14:51

Well done everyone Smile

I've just been to SW and I've lost half a lb and I'm SO pleased. So often I gain.

Ashamed that I don't know how to cut and paste (am older than you lot, never learnt how)

So.....target 28lbs total loss 6lbs loss this week half a pound Grin

pixiestix · 20/04/2011 19:09

Ooh well done all! Nice one C4ro you skinny bitch

What did you see at the theatre Bloof - I am suffering withdrawal symptoms after moving back home to the country, where pantomime is considered high art.

cheepcheepchoconora · 20/04/2011 19:39

shhhh but

..... epic faiiiiiiiiiillllllllllllllllllll

Onlyaphase · 20/04/2011 19:40

I'm with Pixiestix on the lack of theatre round here in the rurals. The last time I went to the theatre I saw "We're going on a Bear Hunt" aimed at pre-schoolers. And the time before that it was Peppa Pig's Birthday Party, which I still harbour dark thoughts about.

IWillCountToThree · 20/04/2011 20:02

Thanks Bloof she's been discharged today but i now have a splitting headache from stress!

I rewarded my 1lb loss with a KFC last night. Blush

I've only eaten half a cheese sarnie so far today tho!

Haven't been to the theatre in so long, i really miss it! I'm dropping very unsubtle hints to DH that i want to see Avenue Q when it comes to Birmingham this year!

fishandlilacs · 20/04/2011 20:16

My scales say I lost 2 but it's hard to tell as I'm not weighing in at group tonight.

C4ro · 20/04/2011 21:06

Hi all! Thanks to you all for the good wishes on the weigh-in result. Congrats to you all too, there were a lot of storming weeks in that table.

I have seen my mission and will get back to you with a linkie shortly for lovely summer frockage.

Bummed to have missed my evening of glory last night- I was on a late plane to Rome, had a long day in work down there, then plane back today. Don't be remotely jealous as I saw airport, taxi, hotel, shuttlebus, warehouse, taxi, airport- not exactly mooching round the colliseum with some huge sunnies on and chic sun hat .

I'm now convinced I really am fat/ smelly/ paranoid; BOTH times on very full easyjet planes and I don't rush the front of the queue and with no speedy boarding cheating I bagged an aisle seat and the middle seat was left free but with another person on the window seat. Apparently no-one wanted to sit next to me... OK, so elbow room good and I'm not devastated... mildly peeved maybe.

C4ro · 20/04/2011 21:17

I like this... except the fuckers hand wash!.. and my DH just came over and said it looked like a 1950s cleaning lady dress Hmm.

Second option this other one.

C4ro · 20/04/2011 21:31

IWillCountToThree Crossed fingers wishes from me too that your mum is doing better today.

BLady

Onlyaphase · 20/04/2011 21:39

C4ro I love the first dress. Love love love it. I used to have a linen Monsoon dress in the same colour and it brings back such happy memories as I used to wear it to Wimbledon back in the dark ages when I lived in London.

My last 2 washing machines have had hand wash cycles BTW, it has been a long time since I've hand washed anything at all.

Anyone going to tell me what compeed plasters are?

duckymum · 20/04/2011 21:40

You haven't seen me, right.

The vastness of my weight has been confirmed on 2 set of scales now - painfully pointing out I must have gained 10lb in the last 6months since I was last on scales at the docs - so things can only get better.

With this in mind I am setting myself the interim goal of 30lb (would've been 20, but as I say....) That should put me back to the point where a size 18 was generous, I think.

Congratulations to all the losers and commiserations to the others. Have skimmed through, and will try to keep up but may not be posting much.

AlpinePony · 21/04/2011 07:40

c4ro Not new shoes at all. :( It's just always the way, when I get back in to the running programme they shred my feet, then the skin toughens up. :( My feet fall apart in the heat - and because (like you) I was pregnant last summer so wearing lesbotronic footwear it seems twice as bad this summer. Good point about the Compeed, I'd completely forgotten I had those!

My boyfriend took the baby to Edinburgh on Easyjet last month and apparently a baybee top trumps a priority boarding pass! Grin You get to get on first, sort the baby out, put your bags away before the great unwashed gallop down the aisles.

Nice dress btw, I'd forgotten how much I liked Oasis stuff.

ducky Having scales is a double-edged sword I feel, you think you're bouncing through life without a care in the world, then reality makes you get on a pair and whooomph, 10lb in 6 months. :(

Do any of you treadmillers type in your weight/age on the controls? I did yesterday and was deeeeeeelighted to see how quickly the calories were burned up compared to the a-typical 170cm, 56kg, 28 year old woman. See - the fatter you are the more calories you burn! Brilliant. (not quite)

BlooferLady · 21/04/2011 09:40

MORNING ALL!

C4ro I like the second dress. It made me think of Lust, Caution - have you seen it? Smokin' hot (though also terribly sad. In fact don't get that one: it could only end badly).

Pony Sad about the shoeful of blood. Urgh! Hope you can find a way to get back into the swing of things without ending up running on stumps...

Ducky I know it's filthy, to find out how much you've gained - just filthy. But it's great to have that number in your mind and to put yourself back in the driving seat. For me, it's always the scales themselves that are the demon, which is just preposterous - it's the flab, not the number Confused Je suis mentalist.

Pixie it was a hip-hop version of Much Ado About Nothing Grin. It were ace. I am all for Spokeshave being played with. He is The Universal Storyteller innit.

Iwill how is your nan this morning??

Vanilla well done on that loss! :)

I think we're all doing EVER SO WELL.

Can I make a suggestion a bout THE BIG FAT LIST?

How would y'all feel about moving the Day of Doom (tm) to a Wednesday, at least for next week? Me initial reasoning is that by next Tues we will all have been gorging on simnel cake, roast lamb and choclit, and if we weigh in on Wed we will at least have 24 hours in which to be good and perhaps stand a fighting chance of breaking even, if not actual loss?

What are you views, my dears?

Pony I fucking love the fact that because I'm a heifer I burn more cals! I aim to dispose of 400 per workout on the cardio and then onto weights, which is probably about another 100. Talking of weights - the personal trainers at my gym are ever so fond of me because I don't mind making a fat reeking tit of myself I try really hard, and this feller took me to one side and gave me a lesson on a particular exercise to get work on my bingo wings. How can he have known? Dude must be psychic Grin

OP posts:
AlpinePony · 21/04/2011 09:48

I think a move of the DoD would be good becuase we have a couple who are officially weighed on a Weds.

BlooferLady · 21/04/2011 09:52

Oh yes that is troo - Vanilla definitely. . .

I am drinking my morning pint of black coffee. And then at 11.30 am I will wonder why I am having my morning palpitations

OP posts:
MadameBoo · 21/04/2011 10:42

Y'know I was having that thought myself only this morning, so a yes vote for wednesday it is here too.

pixiestix · 21/04/2011 11:31

Much Ado rocks. You can't beat the Kenneth Branagh one, though Hero needs a big slap with a wet fish.

Moving the DoD on the second week just because its Easter is norty Grin

BlooferLady · 21/04/2011 11:53

Pix my thoughts ZACKLY - I have practically memorized that version. And Keanu doing his level best to act in iambic pentameter whilst wearing leather trousers and designer stubble Grin I have Sigh No More Ladies on my iPod Blush

Norty is what this fred's all about

OP posts:
C4ro · 21/04/2011 14:11

pixie Hero IS a big wet simpering fish-slap. It is such a shame that Keanu Reeves rivals wood in his acting skill level- it's a VERY pretty lump though and, as I've seen pointed out elsewhere on the net, he is aging amazingly well. Unlike all the Baldwin brothers and that poor idiot Sheen who look like old men now. As for the state of Harrison Ford now, well, it's just a good thing the films and memories can't be destroyed.

I don't mind a move to a Weds Weigh Day. It is a piece of self-flagellation but I weigh myself nearly all mornings anyway. One day after all that choc will be neither here nor there.

C4ro · 21/04/2011 14:30

BlooferLady I haven't seen Lust Caution although I did like his Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I can't even remember the last film I got to see here although there are loads of cinemas and the Dutch tend to subtitle rather than dub- so it would be possible to catch the bigger films when they are current.

IWillCountToThree · 21/04/2011 14:55

Ah the Delish Kenny. Still looks like he's just wrapped Bill and Ted's excellent adventure!

I'm a bit of a Point Break fan Blush

Nan is much better thanks Bloof she was discharged last night. Good thing too, she'd started on her 'you don't know you're born, I'm 91 me' rant at everyone who came within spitting distance! :o
