Well the old thread was getting mordibly obese wasn't it? Grin

Welcome new people and people who've been here for a while, this is the definitive Paul McKenna support thread.

Whether you are dribbling over his Paulness or wibbling over pudding, we're here to listen, slightly mock you and tell you to step away from the scales.

The Paul Mckenna plan is not a diet but a way of teaching yourself to eat slowly and consciously and achieve the body you've always dreamed of.

There will be no diet foods on this thread, no starvation and no beating ourselves up because ^lifes' too bloody short to weigh a carrot and we'd far rather be doing something incredible instead!

Excellent question Bssh! My evenings are a problem! Brain has shut down now but will write more about that tomorrow. Thanks for pointing out something that obviously needs addressing.

MissVerinder · 25/03/2011 09:14

Ooooh, I'm quite excited, I bought the book (with the CD and DVD) and started yesterday. I am a terrible emotional eater and over eater. I am really hoping this works for me; I lost loads of weight on Slimming World, but put it back on.... and more besides....

I've watched the DVD and have started the book. I'm hoping to listen to the CD today if I can get 1/2 hour quiet time! You're all doing so well.

It makes complete sens,e however, it's a massive change; so I'm a little nervous about it (?) but I feel better already. I think it's the feeling of having "permission" to eat what you like. I've been doing the hungry-full excercises though, so I don't get carried away. Will be back soon to let you know how day 2 has gone.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 25/03/2011 09:27

Welcome MrsVerinder, hope you get great success withthe book :)

I am going to a party tonight - my first social drinking test! I know there will eb party food, and I will be drinking alocohol Grin so I am hoping that I dont attack the party nibbles! How does everyoen cope with these situations? Im worried that i might not be aware of my hunger and eat mindlessly :(

BsshBossh · 25/03/2011 10:15

HowToLookGoodGlaikit, I think in this situation I'd simply eat less during the day - stay in the barely satisfied/neutral zone all day (nibbling just enough so you don't feel starved). I've done that at two parties where I knew there would be lots of food etc and distractions - I just ate much less before and after the parties.

3ismylot · 25/03/2011 10:18

Morning everyone Smile

HowTo havent got any experience of this but all you can do is your best and then if it does go a bit wrong just get back to it tomorrow and forget about it Grin

Well still going well here Grin
Had a banana and yogurt for breakfast and felt satisfied but then did the school run and as I was leaving the school I was getting definate rumblings in my tummy so I went and did the shopping as I had planned to and then went to the cafe. I looked at all the goodies and really fancied a scone with jam and cream so thats what I had, I enjoyed it slowly and it really hit the spot. I didnt quite finish it and was happy to leave what was left Grin
If I had been on SW that would have been about 20-30 syns and I would now be feeling guilty or having a full on binge but instead I feel satisfied and happy Smile

We are off to Legoland this weekend and I am no longer worried about trying to find something "healthy" to eat as I will just ask myself what I fancy and have that until Im full!

I also noticed walking to the supermarket this morning that I felt slimmer and more confident about my shape and have also noticed how much easier moving has become Grin

Gotta say I am truly loving PM!!

onesandwichshort · 25/03/2011 10:30

Am having very trying day today, people were supposed to have been viewing the house but they have cancelled, and a deeply complex legal thing has just gone tits up, so I am cross and feeling that everything I want to sort out is blocked. But am I standing in front of the fridge? NO I AM NOT. Hurrah for that.

Hope this sunny day is serving the rest of you better.

Tommy · 25/03/2011 10:33

hello - can I join? I've been trying to do PMcK for a year or so now but completely fell off the wagon at Christmas. I got back on it at the beginning of Lent and it's going ok but could really do with some support!!

whomovedmychocolate · 25/03/2011 15:56

Welcome Tommy :)

Onesandwichshort I had one of those yesterday he was a 'my dog is gravely ill and has to go to the vet, can I come on Saturday instead' people - I mean his dog may be very ill but it does seem to happen a lot with people viewing houses doesn't it? Hmm I'm still waiting for my deeply complex legal thing to get a ruling (six weeks so fat) so I feel your pain though!

Hey everyone I've got less than a stone to lose now. Another 13 pounds and I'm at my goal weight of 125 pounds and I'll be a size 8. Grin

Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah!

Just done two hours digging in the garden with the kids - now I never would have opted to do that before. But it was so much fun.

Hello paulers, old and new! Well after my wobble yesterday I am back into it. Weigh in this morning, I have lost 3lb this week! Thinking perhaps in ketosis and made poor decisions because of that.

I so love this lifestyle, I have had delicious food and not had to count anything.

hellymelly · 25/03/2011 20:40

Well I have the book and am about to plough through it. By the way WMMC what happened to your ghoooooostie? (cue sinister piano music and sudden gust of cold air..)

BellaCullen · 25/03/2011 20:49

Yay,for all the good weight losses. It`s great inspiration for us newbies.Smile

Had a bit of a binge day today.Had wheatabix this morning and 20mins later had a slice of toast as hungry again. Then had a bowl of curly fries for lunch been looking forward to them and enjoyed them. Then some mango.
For dinner I craved pizza so had that and a bit too much and some chocloate cheesecake after even though was already full so feeling completlely stuffed and sick.Which is good in one way as will definitely stop eating when starting to feel full.Feeling quite bloated too not good feeling.Sad.Tomorrow is a new day though.

Still waiting for the book,I have got the journal but havent started using it yet as not sure when to start it as day 1 was mon so already on day 5.Might start it next mon or start fiiling from day 6. Havent told any one in rl that am dieting in case am bad and not lose anything.Looking forward to weekend and relaxing.

Hope you all have a good weekend. xxx

MissVerinder · 25/03/2011 21:02

Well, today has gone really well :) Definitely didn't eat too much, and have been practicing the excercises. Not got to the CD yet, b ut I'm going to rip it to my blackberry so I can listen to it every day. Feeling positive. Hope you all are too.

mycatoscar · 25/03/2011 21:14

we just had pizza delivery. ended up having two chicken wings a few potato wedges and a quarter of a pizza. this is about half what I would normally eat but the eating slowly thing certainly let's my brain and stomach catch up with my mouth.

I did scoff an apple mindlessly today , only realised afterwards :-(

nevergoogle · 25/03/2011 21:25

confession: i stopped paul mckenna'ing.
i got to the 2nd weigh in and still hadn't lost any weight.
this week i've eaten loads, wanted to eat constantly, and not followed the rules at all.

i daren't weigh myself.

can you help me get back to it please.

Sad
hellymelly · 25/03/2011 21:46

Also wmmc,I have the same goal weight as you,but i have more to lose (I wish it was only 13lb...)I'm about 144 lbs at the moment. (ten extra pounds for each baby).

FairyBex · 26/03/2011 07:47

Hi all, can I join too. I Pauled a couple of years ago and it was great but moving house, changing jobs and getting married within a couple of months meant I fell off the wagon.

Looking forward to having to be less consumed by what I have eaten and instead thinking about what I'd like to eat. For me this was a real change in perspective.

Looking forward to more great stories from you all :)

ppeatfruit · 26/03/2011 08:43

I've been trying to post help to those on 'enforced' breaks I take a pot of nuts and raisins (macadamias are fab they take a lot of chewing!) an apple and water bottle of course......

ppeatfruit · 26/03/2011 08:48

.......I find that can fill me to satisfied when I get hungry (i don't find grazing helpful on P.M.)The chew 20 times will help you back on P.M. nevergoogle be kind to yrselfSmile

rookiemater · 26/03/2011 08:49

Hi there is it ok if I join. I bought the book yesterday in the charity shop for £1.50 and have downloaded the CD onto my ipod shuffle, listened to it twice already, although the postman came whilst I was listening this morning.

I really want it to work, I'm 40 and feel as if I have been on one diet or another all my adult life. I'm not hugely overweight 5ft 6 and 11 st 2, but I know that it creeps up unless I'm careful and despite training for a half marathon for the past 2 months I haven't lost an ounce.

Do you think I need to buy the CD box set for best results or am I ok with the one CD ?

nevergoogle · 26/03/2011 09:43

i weighed myself this morning.
i am still 12st9lbs, no gain, no loss.
that's ok, i can deal with that.
i am going to start again today and start back at the book where i left off at the 2nd weighing day and pretend the last week didn't happen.

frustrated.

here's the point i stopped for any amateur psychs that want to figure this out.
DS2 is 3 and hasn't gained any weight for about a year, he's had poor weight gain since birth and the paediatrician now wants to investigate. possibly coeliacs, possibly behavioural, also testing for Cystic Fibrosis and liver function etc.
he has a lovely varied diet but eats very small amounts and slowly.
after one or two bites he says he's full.
he paul mckennas very well but i'm feeling very sad about it.
btw, he's always eaten like this, not since i've been pauling.

help.

ppeatfruit · 26/03/2011 10:16

Now i understand why you're sad nevergoogle. If you know his blood type research the blood type way of eating for his health author PeterD'Adamo it can cure a lot of problems.
