2011 Paul McKenna P3 - the march towards skinny jeans continues

Well the old thread was getting mordibly obese wasn't it? Grin

Welcome new people and people who've been here for a while, this is the definitive Paul McKenna support thread.

Whether you are dribbling over his Paulness or wibbling over pudding, we're here to listen, slightly mock you and tell you to step away from the scales.

The Paul Mckenna plan is not a diet but a way of teaching yourself to eat slowly and consciously and achieve the body you've always dreamed of.

There will be no diet foods on this thread, no starvation and no beating ourselves up because ^lifes' too bloody short to weigh a carrot and we'd far rather be doing something incredible instead!

Evening all. I ate a roll & ham today, just because DH was having one :( I was not quite hungry, so really should have waited! Tsk tsk @ me. Listened to one of teh CDs after it though, and had a wee nap, so that was quite nice Grin

shrinkingnora · 16/04/2011 18:55

Sounds lovely!

I have had another calm day around food. I was at a farmers' market for a few hours this morning and didn't eat anything - not even free samples. The kids were given a bag of goodies by a stall holder and I did have a few mouthfuls of rocky road this afternoon but generally felt really in control. Turned down everything - cheese, sausage rolls, bread, cupcakes, fruit cake, easter eggs. Just didn't want any of it!

Probably didn't eat my supper slowly enough but have been over at the neighbours' house this afternoon and it was just so sad I wanted to change the way I felt. I do think that the fact I can acknowledge this and see it for what it is is a huge step in the right direction. Really felt like I overate massivley at supper as I now feel bloated but I drank loads of water with it and think I've just had too much volume in one go. I had a good chat to DH and took comfort from that. In retrospect I probably overate by two mouthfuls!

Mostly a 'yay' food day but a bit of a 'boo' personal afternoon Sad

Hi everyone. I have a question about the 5 CD set.

I just have the book and cd that comes with it. I like them but wish they didn't wake me up at the end so I could listen when going to bed then just stay asleep. Can someone can let me know if all the CDs in the 5 CD set wake you at the end?

Thanks in advance!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 16/04/2011 19:33

Yeah, they all do. I think there used to be a version that didnt wake you up, but Ive no idea why you cant get it now! Ive seen word of it on weightloss forums.

CelestialstarlightsPassion · 16/04/2011 22:57

Hi all Thank you all for great advice. I'm definately going to put my chocolate on a plate from now on. What a great idea Grin and I will listen to the craving buster CD too to see if that helps me.

I haven't eaten very much today. DH let me have a lovely long lie in so I didn't get up til 10am. I wasn't hungry at all so didn't have anything to eat. Went to the hairdressers and then into town shopping for DS2's birthday on Monday and other things and before I knew it it was 5pm. Came home, had a granary roll with ham. It was horrible eaten slowly so gave half of it to DS3 who was eyeing it up anyway. then had 5 werthers chocolates. Then I had a bag of crisps. So I've hardly eaten anything and what I have eaten wasn't very nutritious at all Blush. However I have just made a nice salad to take into work tomorrow for lunch.

Solo Wink Good for you cougar Grin

Obi I listen to the CD's at night too. I'd love to have one that just lets me drift off.

CelestialstarlightsPassion · 16/04/2011 23:09

oops that should have read sexy cougar Wink

SolosEggSpoonentiallyShrinking · 17/04/2011 01:18

How does the title suit me then? Perhaps I should namechange to soloISofficiallyaSexyCougar what say you all? Wink

shrinkingnora · 17/04/2011 07:52

Yes name change!! Love it.

MissVerinder · 17/04/2011 08:45

hi all, still here! taking DD and her BFF swimming so i'll post later.

GreenToes · 17/04/2011 08:58

I just have the CD that comes with the book but I never wake up at the end of it, I always wake up in the middle of the night though when I've tangled myself up in my headphones! Blush

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 17/04/2011 10:16

I wake up when he shouts 3,2 1 lol but then i just take out my headphones & go straight back to sleep!

What a gorgeous day! It makes everything seem so much better, doesnt it? I feel really positive today, and want to be out drinking the sunshine! Lunch out in the graden I think :)

ObiWanKenobi · 17/04/2011 11:41

Thanks everyone - but disappointing there is alternate ending. Wish I could sleep through!

rookiemater · 17/04/2011 11:46

I consciously ate more than I needed to yesterday because I was doing a big race today - the half kilmathon.

Finished in 1hr 34 which I am very proud of and am going to reward myself with a nice warm bath to soothe my aching legs.

shrinkingnora · 17/04/2011 15:12

Well done! I had to google it to find out what it was. A long way to run...

Another good day so far here. Just panicked because I was really hungry and then realised I had lunch at 11.30 Grin. So I am having a slice of toast with PB&J and a cup of tea. Yum!

We've been to a National Trust place today and I opted to push DS2 up the hill rather than get the bus - that photo is taken from the top of the hill. Mahoosive hill, mind but I kept focussing on my new dresses and how I want to look in them!

rookiemater · 17/04/2011 16:02

Thanks for looking it up - appetite is very weird post race, not hungry but know that I need to eat, will be having early dinner of sea bass and roast potatoes

That NT place looks lovely, this weather is gorgeous, thought of summer dresses and swim suits is spurring me on.

CheerfulYank · 17/04/2011 17:43

Oh, that place looks so pretty!

I am eating a bit more today because I am hungover and my body is craving the carbs. Blush

But I had a blast last night, so that's what counts :)

shrinkingnora · 17/04/2011 18:38

They have 20,000 tulips in the gardens. Amazing! The whole experience is terribly, terribly English, darling.

How was the band CY?

mycatoscar · 18/04/2011 07:13

rookie mater well done you doing the race! I really admit anyone who can run properly, what kind of training did you do?

went to pub for lunch yesterday, had amazing pie and found I didn't like the chips that came with it unfortunately :-( but surprisingly loved the broccoli and carrots best. this is making me really reconsider which foods I actually like. makes me realise the amazing speed at which I must have been eating before I think I must have missed my vocation as a world record holder he he!

JuicyOlive · 18/04/2011 17:36

Huge cheer for Rookimater.

Agree D Park is lovely - amazing views. They do some good open air concerts there in the summer.

mycatoscar - it's amazing how many of us are going off chips/white bread/carbs (unless hungover like CY Wink)

Have had an admin day whilst the kids have been playing at their friends' house. Haven't raided the fridge once. Yay!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 18/04/2011 17:39

How is everyone today? Ive been craving fatty food today, after a week of craving super healthy salads & leafy green veg! No idea what that is about. Had eggy toast for breakfast, an avocado for a snack and riccotta & spinach canneloni for lunch! Have roast lamb chops for tea.

What does everyone find that their body is asking for?

mycatoscar · 18/04/2011 18:40

i've definately been noticing that a lot of my past favourite meals actually lack in flavour, and so have been craving really flavourful dishes

have had a bit of a carby day today but small amounts, 1 slice toast and jam for brekkie, half a thin crust bbq chicken pizza for lunch and cooked a jamie's pasta dish with bacon and peas - was yummy, but again only managed half the plate.

mycatoscar · 18/04/2011 18:43

is anyone else finding this quite freeing?

i no longer panic when someone suggests lunch out or a trip to the cinema. I no longer plan my meals days in advance. It's bliss to just eat hwat I know I want and need rather than "how much can I have for x points?" or "I've got 4 points left, what shall I eat?"

CheerfulYank · 18/04/2011 19:10

Yes mycat it is freeing isn't it?!

The band was great! I had a few mental grumblings "oh I look terrible," etc but I ignored it and actually looked quite nice, I think! I had to say "I'm married but thanks" more than once if that's any indication :o

I just ate a lot of steamed veggies with a bit of olive oil and parmesan...delicious! :) I over ate yesterday because of my hangover and didn't feel well this morning. That'll teach me!

onesandwichshort · 18/04/2011 19:18

Evening everyone, I am still has haphazard as ever at keeping up with this thread, but everyone is sounding quite cheery in the sun - and well done Rookiemater on the race. I am in awe of anyone who does proper running.

ShrinkingNora - is Dyrham Park local to you then? We're not a million miles from there either, although I tend to go to Stourhead for my hilly yomps across the acres of the NT.

Now, I do have the version of 'I can Make You Thin' without the wake-up at the end - you used to be able to download it from his website, but it ain't there any more. Which is annoying. It seems to come now as a bonus CD with the 6_DVD set, which is taking the mick a bit.

CelestialstarlightsPassion · 18/04/2011 21:12

I think Paul must be aware of threads such as these. So if you are reading this Paul. Please can you send us the CD without the wake up bit at the end. Complementary of course Wink Grin [fingers crossed emoticon]
