Good luck tonight sweetheart and well done Shouldersback

Have just done my weigh in at home (as I can't make class tonight) and my scales say a loss of 3.5lbs. I am going to err on the side of caution and call it 2.5lbs though, as I think my home scales weigh about 1lb lighter than the scales at my class.

bigTillyMint · 16/02/2011 16:55

hmc well done! (and to all you other losers!) I am also thinking you might be right about taking a week off - that'll be next week for me then(to tie in with my skiing, if there's enough snowSad!)

Had a very nice meeting today - avoided the breakfast pastries and had loads of fruit and some bread for brekkie, then avoided the sandwiches and cakes and had prawn / chicken skewers (8?Blush), salad and fruit for lunch.

How much do you reckon for say 4 chicken and 4 prawn skewers - were marinaded?, and about 4inches long?

HighHeidYin · 16/02/2011 17:06

blondes can totally sympathise. dh and I are both se. Great most of the time but if something goes wrong and either of us can't work we are scuppered... Have told dh under no circumstances can he ever be ill Grin

hmc that's brilliant! An awful lot of good losses this week. Is great!

HighHeidYin · 16/02/2011 17:12

Oooh wasn't finished then Hmm

shoulders another great loss for you too yaaay!

sweetheart thanks Smile Have lost 13.5lbs in 5 wks which for me is incredible! Into my 6th wk now. Not sure what my goal weight will be yet - am only 5ft 1 1/2 so goal could range from 7 1/2 to 9 1/2. Probably aim for just under 9 and then see how I feel about going for 8 1/2. Am 11.5 now so about 2 1/2 stone or thereabouts to lose.

Hope your WI goes well!

Off to drop dd3 at dancing then is my jazz class (yay). Have a good evening lovely people!

Willabywallaby · 16/02/2011 17:13

Where you off to Tilly, snow falling in France apparently

bigTillyMint · 16/02/2011 17:14

France - Morzine-ish area. No snow predicted for next few days, will check the web!

bigTillyMint · 16/02/2011 17:16

Looks like they've had 3cm today, but RAIN forecast for next 10 days SadSadSad

Willabywallaby · 16/02/2011 17:25

That's annoying. We went to les gets last year. Had a good week. Let DH go with dome friends last month, can't justify the expense of 4 of us. Much prefer sun me Grin

bigTillyMint · 16/02/2011 17:35

Yeah, we go to this resort called Praz de Lys every year - have had good snow and sun for last 15 years, but doesn't look too good this year Sad

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/02/2011 17:48

sweetheart · 16/02/2011 18:25

blondes my 5 fav tummy exercises are

  1. Plank
  2. Woodchop
  3. Vertical Leg raises
  4. Hanging leg raises
  5. Side bends with a nice heavy dumbell

I find these give me good defanition

sweetheart · 16/02/2011 19:19

Sad gutted! I have sts this week! I guess I know why but in reality I tracked everything and kept within my weeklies - maybe my meal out was more than I thought.

Feeling pretty disheartened right now so I'm going to pig out and then strengthen my resolve to start a fresh tomorrow. Better food choices and more exercise, I may look back over my tracker for good weeks and try to replicate it.

I do wonder though - I weigh at a school and this evening they had something in the hall so ww was relocated to another room. I asked if it made any difference to the scales and she said it was a stupid question but is it really Hmm

God I'm pissed off!

export · 16/02/2011 19:50

Hello

May I please join here? I am not a mum but have been looking at this site recently for a friend with children and I noticed that this is a active thread and I really could do with the support.
I am 24 and now a lardy 13stone 1 Blush Shock, I have put this weight on over the last four years, I used to be 8 stone!!! It is absolutely awful. I feel like I am wearing a fat suit and feel unable to go out to nightclubs/dinner with friends (which I love doing) because I am so embarrassed.

So at NY I made the resolution (like you do) to lose three stone and joined WW online. I find it really easy to use and point food and am weighing myself every Tuesday. It all started off well but I seem to be stuck. My main problems are lack of exercise and love of wine, I if a day has been rubbish I end up buying a bottle and find it all too easy to drink in one evening.

My lovely bf is very supportive but is a huge eater so I find it difficult to control my portions and tbh everytime I think of the journey ahead of me I almost give up.

If anyone has any hints/tips to stay motivated please let me know.

um....so yeah hope you dont mind me invading Smile

LeeWT · 16/02/2011 19:59

Welcome export! I find planning is the key! Also get yourself a decent pair of scales and be OCD for a week weighing everything to educate yourself about portion size. Mine arrived from amazon yesterday and I'm going to weigh weigh weigh this week..

Sorry to hear that sweetheart it's so disheartening.. I put on a lb last week and could have cried..

BUT.. Just back from WI and lost 4lbs!!!!!!!!

Yay my time has come!! That's 16 stone in total.. So got my second silver seven..

Next mini goals are lose 5lbs to get third silver seven, and to lose a further 3lbs to get through the 15 stone barrier to 14 ..

Good luck to everyone else for WI!

vnmum · 16/02/2011 20:05

welcome export For motivation have a look at my before and after photos on my public profile (just click on my name) i lost 3st 7lbs to get to goal so proof that the journey you face can be done.

set mini goals like half stones, 5% and 10% and track everything even if you've had a bad day still track it as it keeps you in control and stops you thinking you've blown the whole thing.

bigTillyMint · 16/02/2011 20:33

Lee 16 stone?????? Did you mean 16 pounds? Well done for losing 4

sweetheart I feel your pain. Also, I do seem to weigh half a pound or so heavier on one of our sets of scales at WI, so could be that?

LeeWT · 16/02/2011 20:45

Haha if I lost 16 stone I would be no more!

I meant i've lost 16lbs!!

froot · 16/02/2011 21:01

db I deffo agree with metabolism boost theory but I would only go 'off piste' for three or four days to be on the safe side . You may then sts or even gain a pound but then a week or ten days later have a sudden loss - that seems to be what happens with me anyway. I also drink a third of a cup if grapefruit juice before each meal if I need a boost - don't know if the bitter taste makes me eat less or whether it really does block some food absorption! Finally strength training is supposed to be better for weight loss than cv but best of all intervals of both . If you build more muscle your resting metabolic rate goes uP apparently tho as muscle weighs more it may not show quickly on the scales. Hope this helps !

sweetheart I was whizzing thru this thread quickly and read that your list of exercises helped with defecation !!!!

shinyblackgrape · 16/02/2011 21:54

What a day. Crashed my car (not seriously, I hope) this morning in to the lamppost outside our drive whilst trying to drive in.

Was so shocked that I left it blocking the drive (and a bit of the pavement - sorry pram users Blush) and went to work. Didn't even think to text DP and came home to find him looking in a puzzled fashion at the car and the drive. WTF?! Don't even want to think how I would cope (or not) in a proper emergency.

So sad. My poor 15 year old Honda. His number plate is falling off and he has bump on the bonnet and a chip on the hood bit. I could cry thinking about it.

Anyway, the net result is that I have been too upset to eat today and my dinner was three gin and slimline tonics and a large packet of monster munch. Still got 15 points left over too.

This is most excellent as my normal reaction to stress/upset would have been to eat 150 points. So, hopefully moving on!

Anyway, well done with all of the weightlosses.

Blondes - hope you had a lovely night out.

Littlefish · 16/02/2011 21:58

Welcome export. Easy to say, I know, but if wine is a problem, could you put in a massive effort, and have a wine free week and see what that does to your weight loss. A bottle of wine is about 18 points - that's a lot of weekly points.

Would it be easier to have none at all, and not even buy any, than to try and limit yourself to one glass?

androbbob · 16/02/2011 22:04

Hello all - just popping in - had a hell of a day and need to get some sleep! A three hour meeting this afternoon and only a cupa soup and yoghurt for lunch (due to fresh soup being off - didnt want to risk it as it was chicken) has made robo a tired bunny.

lots of lovely losses this week - I did WI a home on new scales and seem to be half a pound down on last week so will take that!

For those who were asking - Easter Challenge starts from this Monday 14th feb - so losses from next week will be the starting losses - just to make it fair for those that over induldged in Valentines Day - so have a good week!!

Willabywallaby · 16/02/2011 22:18

So half a lb off tonight. Not astounding but 5pm over 4 weeks isn't bad and I've started to feel as if I've lost some now. Will be hard next week as we're visiting family all week, my mum will help but don't feel I can dictate to my MIL.

Willabywallaby · 16/02/2011 22:19

Aaargh phone turns lb into pm again!

benbenandme · 16/02/2011 23:21

Another 2lbs off for me this week bringing me up to 10.5lbs off in total so far Smile

HighHeidYin · 17/02/2011 09:27

Dashing in before work, will post properly later!

I DID THE SHRED Shock Shock

And it was ok actually Confused At least the cardio and the stomach exercises were fine. Have very weak arms so the weights were difficult - but managed!!!

shiny Hope you are ok. Poor car Sad
