Welcome one and all to our 3rd thread Grin

If you're just starting out or you've been following WW for a while and you're looking for support you've come to the right place!

There are lots of regulars who are well on their weigh (get it! Wink) and others who have just joined us - we're a mixed bag, all shapes and sizes and all with different goals to achieve but we're all striving for the same thing. We're all here to will one another on with advice, support and lots of cheering!

Androbbob is our resident stat checker and keeps us motivated by totting up the total weight loss each week. So far this week we have already lost over 37lbs collectively! I believe in total there has been over a 9 stone loss since the thread started!

We're quite fast moving at times so just dive in and make yourself at home Grin

Blondes obviously all fruit and veg have gone down in points as the majority are now 0, I think a lot of people over look that one. A lot of meat is now lower in points, some other things have surprised me too though I can't think what off the top of my head.

Excellent well done NoWay shame about the blueberry muffin but bless your Gran Wink

Well done for your pointing Lolly good for you!

Whoop whoop for noway congrats on the loss but comiserations about the muffin!!!

Stoopid question alert - what is zumba? Seen it advertised round here but no sure what it is!

sparkle101 · 25/01/2011 14:24

Oh and norma are you planning on becoming a leader when you reach goal? You'd be great at it!

NoWayNoHow · 25/01/2011 14:24

blondes, if it had been anyone else, I would have done, but she's 88 and going through a really difficult time right now, so just wanted to appear grateful and drink it so we could get down to talking.

Don't even really like lattes! Am a black coffee girl through and through!

bigTillyMint · 25/01/2011 14:31

Whoop whoop noway I'm only a bit Envy!

sparkle zumba is a funky, dancy version of aerobics. Colleagues are doing it after work, but my coordination is terrible, so I'm sticking with the gym!

NormaSknockers · 25/01/2011 14:31

It's a dance class Sparkle sort of a latin-esque feel to it I think? Very popular, all the classes locally are fully booked apparently! A few ladies from my meeting wanted to go but they said they've been trying for 3 weeks and haven't been able to get in Shock

Aww thank you :) I'm not sure tbh, I love helping out but not sure I have the guts to be a leader myself. If my leader's happy to continue to let me help out once I'm Gold then I'd love to carry on with that Grin

bigTillyMint · 25/01/2011 14:33

One of my colleagues has a zumba DVD set - they just put it up on the whiteboard and do it together Wink

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/01/2011 14:43

true norma, i had forgotten about fruit Grin

and i ate a whole melon earlier Blush

KnittingRocks · 25/01/2011 15:18

norma, about seven stone Sad. I lost six stone on Lighter Life five years ago but two m/cs and two children later it's all back on. Blush

No longer have the energy to manage abstinence so thought I'd do this instead Smile.

NormaSknockers · 25/01/2011 15:37

I'm so sorry to hear that *Knitting. Please don't be Blush, we are all here for the same reason the lose the weight we have gained, we're all trying to reach for the same thing so please don't feel embarrassed. The bulk of my weight gain was through having PND after DD was born, I couldn't leave the house and just used to eat to numb myself. It wasn't until DS was about 6 months old that I decided enough was enough and the only person who could do something my weight was me and that's when my WW journey begun again (I had previously lost 3 stone in 2004/2005) at my heaviest I was just over 16 stone, I started WW at 15 stone 13lbs knew I had 5 stone at least to lose and so far I've lost 3 stoe 7lbs. You're not alone, it's not easy or quick journey but believe me, with the right support and the determinination you absolutely can and will do it.

Tilly a few people were talking about the WW exercise DVD, it's real life leaders and members in the workout videos so I'm intrigued....

This is my 3rd week and I have lost 4lbs to date. I have been ill over the last week and have lost the plot with tracking but will be getting back in the saddle as soon as possible.

Lorelai · 25/01/2011 15:46

Knitting, if it makes you feel any better I have about 10 stone to lose; I lost 7 a couple of years ago but put 5 of it back on again Blush

KnittingRocks · 25/01/2011 15:46

Thank you Norma Smile.

sparkle101 · 25/01/2011 15:52

Knitting 6 stone to lose here as well! But the way I look at it every journey starts with a small step and that's why I'm here! The good news with us that have more to lose is that we can get the 50/75/100 lb certificates! Small consolation but we'll get there!

norma stick by my original thought, you would make excellent leader, very motivational! Am sure your leader will let you stay on.

Zumba needs co-ordination? That'll be a no for me then, stick to aqua aerobics where everything is hidden by the water so co-ordination is not needed!

KnittingRocks · 25/01/2011 15:53

Thank you lorelai, I know everyone has their own personal journey to make but it just feels like such a mountain to climb at the moment. It is just I remember so clearly how amazing it was to be at my goal weight (stayed there for two years before getting pg!) and how much more confident I felt - so badly want to get back there.

KnittingRocks · 25/01/2011 15:54

Lol at the certificates sparkle!! Grin

NormaSknockers · 25/01/2011 16:04

Grin at the certificates Sparkle and thank you, you're very kind :)

Knitting why not break it down into smaller goals? So don't focus on the 7 stone right now, focus on losing your first 7lbs. Once you've done that focus on losing your 10%, once you've reached that focus on reaching 2 stone off and so on, break it down into much smaller goals and think how amazing you'll feel as you achieve each one Grin

dh had a great motivational thing for me years ago when i lost 3 stone. everytime i got fed up he made me stand on the scales and would hand me hard back books until i weighed what i used to. it was great to see how far i had come.

SparkleSoiree · 25/01/2011 16:09

Knitting - I hear you. I have just over 10 stone to lose and have done lighter life successfully too so can understands your attempts at weight loss so far. Smile

going · 25/01/2011 16:40

Knitting I had 7 1/2 stones to lose and have managed to get closer to my target and now have 3 stone 13 lbs to lose. It takes time and as I'm sure you know can only be done if you really want to do it. I did really well losing weight for 3 months and then went off track over christmas and am still 3lbs heavier than I was. Am hoping I can get my focus back which is why I am doing WW again.....

futurity · 25/01/2011 17:05

Popping in to say day 2 is going ok but been helped by doing a 35 min run this morning..good thing too as calculated I will be dipping into those points today!

Littlefish · 25/01/2011 17:14

Knitting - I've had about 8 ish stone to lose when I started. I've lost just over 2 stone so far (since October), so about 6 and a bit to go.

KnittingRocks · 25/01/2011 17:31

It's really good to hear from others with lots to lose - and those who have lost lots! going, you're doing really well Smile

I think part of the prob is that with LL the results were so instant - 6 stone in 4 months - that it's hard to think about doing this for months/years. I think I need to change my mindset though and accept WW is going to have to become a way of life.

I love the idea of the books on the scales! At the moment it would only take me to hold a newspaper to be back where I started Grin!

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/01/2011 18:31

KNITTING so sorry about mc :( and yes we are all in the same boat

i know a few people who have done lighter life and all have put weight back on afterwards :(

least ww is a healthy way to retrain your body/brain and lose weight and keep it off forever

agree norma would make a fab leader :)

sweetheart · 25/01/2011 19:01

just reading all your stories and wanted to add that whilst it can be a long hard struggle with ww it IS about changing you attitude to food FOREVER and not a quick fix like lighterlife. It's about teaching yourself to eat in a way that you can sustain the weigh loss.

When I was at my heaviest dh and I used to think nothing of eating takeaway 4 + times a week. I used to eat a cream cake every day. I would never dream of doing that now.

I know I have lost my way a bit which is why I'm back at the classes but I did manage to maintain it for about 4 years prior to that and it's taught me that I have to take myself in hand now before I have more than a stone to lose!

Quite looking forward to WI tomorow - only because I usually have a treat afterwards Grin
