Welcome one and all to our 3rd thread Grin

If you're just starting out or you've been following WW for a while and you're looking for support you've come to the right place!

There are lots of regulars who are well on their weigh (get it! Wink) and others who have just joined us - we're a mixed bag, all shapes and sizes and all with different goals to achieve but we're all striving for the same thing. We're all here to will one another on with advice, support and lots of cheering!

Androbbob is our resident stat checker and keeps us motivated by totting up the total weight loss each week. So far this week we have already lost over 37lbs collectively! I believe in total there has been over a 9 stone loss since the thread started!

We're quite fast moving at times so just dive in and make yourself at home Grin

well done abgirl [bsmile]

DuplicitousBitch · 25/01/2011 09:09

wow sparkle that is great.

well done abgirl.i am doing ti at home too.

hmc · 25/01/2011 09:23

Well done abgirl, sparkle and norma on your losses this week. Well done on sts froot, bigtillymint and bluebump - I say a genuine well done, as it is far better than gaining weight (although I realise it is a disappointment)..and we all probably had a tendency to gain weight bit by bit before we started WW (which is how we got here!). Froot you may well be right about the scales at your meeting given the disparity between your home scales and the official weigh in.

Best of luck to everyone due a weigh in today!

In my quest to get the lowest pointed satisfying breakfast possible I managed 3pps today: a sandwich consisting of 2 slices of WW malted bloomer bread and 2 rashers of turkey bacon dry fried in a good non-stick pan. I won't pretend it was a taste sensation but it filled a gap!

StarvingMarvin · 25/01/2011 09:38

Well done everyone on the losses! I am determined to have a good week, doing well so far food wise, also did shred yesterday, still doing level 1 but finding it much easier so going to do a few more days then move to level 2. Am going for a long walk today so a good start to the week at least!

I have been weighing in on the Wii but am tempted to buy some scales as am not convinced it is entirely accurate. Only thing is I don't weant to the temptation of weighing myself constantly!

bigTillyMint · 25/01/2011 09:41

thanks hmc, trying to stay positive and point EVERYTHING!

Well done to abgirl and Norma, and good luck for WI's today - noway I'm sure you'll get a good result, we all strip down to as little as poss for WI too!

sweetheart · 25/01/2011 09:44

Morning all!

No Way - well done, your learning!

Froot and big TM well done on your sts - at least you know why you haven't had a loss AND no gain is a good thing!

Sparkle - OMG - that is bloody brilliant, well done!

Norma - half off is still a lose - well done

abgirl - 4Ib - WOW! Well done.

Wizzler - ha ha I'm going to watch for your Wi and see if it worked - might have to give it a go as my legs are a tad hairy at the moment.

When I was at my lowest weight - what I was talking about the other day about being obsessed - I used to weight every day, usually twice. It's not healthy and it took alot to break the habit! I did go for a crafty weigh in the other day but the battery's have run out on my scales and I won't be replacing them otherwise it's fatal!

Wi is tomorrow for me and I'm really hoping for at least a 1.5Ib loss to reach my 7Ib. I haven't used any of my weekly points this week but seem to have eaten an awful lot even thought I track EVERYTHING!

Good luck today everyone x

LeeWT · 25/01/2011 09:50

This explains a lot!!

www.medscape.com/viewarticle/729995

an article that says if you are getting insufficient sleep it can hinder your weightloss by 50%..

I have quite a lot of weight to lose and normally if i was this disciplined (and I am being VERY disciplined) I would be losing much more weight.

Ds is feeding every three hours and waking couple more times each night since leaving hospital which means I have not slept for more than two hours in a row! I am so tired and teary and too exhausted to exercise which makes it harder again!

Ugh sorry girls just needed a rant!

Well done to everyone losing this week, that cheers me
up!

sweetheart · 25/01/2011 09:52

hmm does anyone have an idea how much 4 mini dime bars would be? They are about the size of a 10p. I've guessed them as 1pp each

bigTillyMint · 25/01/2011 09:54

Yes Lee, I'd heard that about not getting enough sleep. Also I find that if I am tired, I feel like I need more food to get me going too. It sounds like you've set yourself quite a challenge - losing weight and managing a new baby!

bigTillyMint · 25/01/2011 09:55

sweetheart, can't find them in my book, but 1 mini mars bar is 1pp

going · 25/01/2011 10:21

Hello all,

I did really well for four days last week and then went totally off track both Saturday and Sunday Blush. Am very cross with myself. Got back into it yesterday and weighed my self this morning. Thankfully I have lost 1lb but I really think it would have been three if I had stuck at the diet. I am back down to the next stone 14 so am happy about that and determined not to gain this week as I don't want to be 15 st ever again!!!!

NormaSknockers · 25/01/2011 11:08

Good morning all Grin

Later catch up then I planned sorry!

I really enjoyed yesterdays meeting so much more as I wasn't so nervous, I was really into the swing of it and felt like I was actually a help to some people too as I was able to answer their questions which was great. A friend of mine was there last night too, she usually goes to a different meeting but, and she said she'd been watching me from her place in the queue and she said it really suited me which really made pleased as it was nice to know I wasn't make a complete hash of it Grin

I have all the winners prizes sorted I just have to get them parcelled up etc and I'm hoping to get to the post office tomorrow. I've got to wait in for a courier but hopefully he'll come in the morning so I can pop them out to our very deserving winners in the afternoon - I will keep you updated either way :)

Hello and welcome to tea, NoWay and futurity I hope you're enjoying the thread so far? It's a lovely thread with some very helpful and supportive people so I hope you'll find it helpful too Grin

Sparkle excellent work well done you, how does it feel? You feel great?

abgirl fantastic, well done to you too, brilliant Grin

Well done for getting back on track going that can be the hardest part some times so well done for doing it Grin

Good luck to all those who have WI today!

I have to agree with andro about the "doubling" - yes some things have doubled, you will find this is mostly high carb foods but it's not the case for everything. Lots of things have lowered in points, some have only increased by 0.5 point some by 1 and so on. To say that everything has doubled can be very dishearting to those who are new or struggling to get to grips with the new plan. Also you have to put it into context, yes, some items will be much higher in points but our daily points have increased allowing for this and we now have the weekly points too - when you look at it in black and white it really isn't all that bad.

For example, I always have a stash of scotch pancakes in my freezer because they are a great, low pointed, sweet, filling snack for an evening. Now it used to be 3 points for 3 not it is 6 for 3. That might sound daunting but on the old plan I had only 21 points but on this one I have 29, that's an extra 8 points a day so those 6 points worth of pancakes are still absolutely fine in my daily points. Plus I have the added bonus of using my weekly points if I want too.

Changing the subject to breakfast, I like your quest hmc Grin Anyone else managed to find a tasty, filling, low points breakfast? My lowest one is a WW bar at 2 PPs but not very filling but my other is eggy bread and bacon - only 4 PPs and very filling. What does everyone else usually have?

vnmum · 25/01/2011 11:23

Morning all,

Well done sparkle, Norma, abgirl on the losses.

I was doing so well in not using my 49 this week until last night when i just wanted chocolate. 20pp of dairymilk later and i actually just felt crap and like it wasn't worth it. also a bit guilty too.

I've not managed to exercise yet this week after my bug over the weekend and then i had my swineflu jab yesterday so today my arm is killing me and i just feel tired and achey. I might just have a nap when DD is at nursery this aft and then i might have more energy tomorrow.

I went to morrisons today for something quick for tea and got some fresh pasta. they didn't have a low fat version but i thought half a pack couldn't be that bad. when i got home and worked out the points, half a pack was 10pp!!! So my lesson learned, always check points before buying. It's just aswell i have some 0pp soup to have for lunch

bigTillyMint · 25/01/2011 11:30

Norma, I have porridge - 30g oats, 1/4pt milk and some water if necessary - very filling and 4pp, I think!

McDreamy · 25/01/2011 11:32

I joined yesterday - bought everything Blush, well ok just the pack with the calculator and books in, went to Zumba last night (not exercised for ages) and feeling very positive!

vnmum · 25/01/2011 11:33

Norma breakfast for me is usually 30g porridge and i allow 1/2pt skim milk (covers brews during day too) and a banana or grapes for 6pp. Or i will have 45g quaker oat granola with loads of fruit and 100g of onken fat free vanilla yoghurt for 6pp.

I haven't found anything lower than that that fills me up long enough and i don't have time to do a cooked breakfast although i have been eyeing up the tefal toast'n'egg for a quick eggs on toast in the morning.

I have been dropping serious hints to DH about my Kindle as a reward when i get to goal. Hopefully he has picked up on them.

McDreamy · 25/01/2011 11:34

Need to add the group was brilliant! The leader looked fantastic and had such an inspiring way about her. Met one of the mums from school there too so we are going to encourage each other. Sorry about any SW fans out there but the meeting was soooooooooo much better, found SW meeting so cringey!

NormaSknockers · 25/01/2011 12:04

Oooo vnmum you will love the Kindle! I was gutted that I didn't think to ask for one at Christmas so DH said if I could raise half the funds he'd pay the other half. Don't think he thought I'd do it so quickly as I managed it in about 3 days PMSL! I absolutely love it, best thing I've ever bought I think! What a brilliant incentive to work towards. Why not ask him outright? Explain to him that having something like that to strive for would really help you? Lay it on thick Wink

Don't feel guilty about the dairy milk, you had the points to cover it. Next time you'll remember how eating too much of it made you feel and you'll eat less - lesson leared :)

Good for you McDreamy well done, how do you feel for having signed up? Did you enjoy the Zumba class?

OP posts:
NormaSknockers · 25/01/2011 12:05

learned even. No idea what leared is Grin

KnittingRocks · 25/01/2011 13:02

Please can I join? Smile

I have lots of stones to lose - has anyone else had success with losing lots of weight? I read of those of you with a couple of stone to lose and I'm so Envy! Blush

And how is everyone finding the new ProPoints? Hearing mixed reviews.

NormaSknockers · 25/01/2011 13:28

Hello and welcome Knitting :)

What do you class as lots of weight? By the time I reach goal I will have shed 5 stone, not sure if you class that as a lot or not though :) The weight loss goals vary on here, some have a few stone, some have a few pounds some have much more - we're a very mixed bunch Grin

Personally I love PPs, I had followed the old plan for many years and obviously I did have good results. When I first started PP I was really unsure but after the first few weeks I really got into the swing of it and I absolutely love it now, I eat far more then I did before but I'm still losing weight. I've lost 12.5lbs since starting the PP plan and I find it really easy and enjoyable to follow.

The results on this thread alone have been amazing, last week alone saw a thread loss of over 3 stone and in total the loss has been over 10 stone since this thread started a few months ago Grin

Lollypolly · 25/01/2011 14:01

Yay, made it through a day pointing everything (I live in Singapore so it's bedtime here), kept remembering your fabulous words of wisdom about cheating myself. Taking it a day at a time at a time.

Have a great day - I'm off to bed!

NoWayNoHow · 25/01/2011 14:07

Hooray! 1.5lbs lost! Can I get a "woop woop"

Blush

Didn't have time for breakfast before WW meeting, and knew I was meeting Mum and Gran afterwards for coffee, so had it all planned out - 0 pp Americano and a big fat skinny blueberry muffin for breakfast.

Got there to find Gran had bought me a LARGE. FULL FAT. LATTE. And put 2 sugars in it. So no muffin!

Bless her heart.

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/01/2011 14:18

friad i would have brought a new skinny one

well done on loss

'blonde woops'
