Oooohhmmmyyygggooodddd that level 2 is a killer!
I was just going to veg out on the sofa this evening and then I told myself to stop being lazy and get shredding. I'm so pleased I did but it was sooo hard.

Hi Iluv! Glad you had a good holiday. You'll lose that weight in no time!

Dinky I'm vvv impressed. Body combat AND zumba?? What the heck are you on?? Grin

Don't worry about biffing thats already been done - just stop doing anymore of it! It won't make you happy. Being in control of yourself will Smile

No biffing for me today. Hooray.
Here's to a biff free zone tomorrow to.

dinkystinky · 07/02/2011 21:45

Didnt do them straight after each other Shaxx - one at lunch time and the other after work. Weirdly though - as have never done zumba before - according to my heartrate monitor an hour of zumba (got warm but not too sweaty) burned off more calories than 45 minutes of bodycombat (which I'm drenched with sweat by the end of) - go figure. DH made a lovely chicken liver, apple and sage salad with rocket leaves when I got home so at least I've ended the day on a virtuous note despite the earlier biffing episode. Well done for staying in the zone today Shaxx - you can be the thread poster girl!

Coool Grin

thedogwalker · 08/02/2011 09:23

Got up this morning feeling like poo. Sore throat, swollen throat glands, really thick head and really lethargic. Don't feel like doing anything, which is why I'm getting ready to go out for a nice long walk, got a route planned which will take about an hour, will try and blow the cobwebs away, hopefully doing something will actually help get rid of the tiredness Hmm.

Hope everyone is feeling better than me, take care xx

Mornin? all.

Doing OK (ish) food wise. I?ve ramped up the exercise, not quite Dinky madness standards but I shredded and ran (run 1, week 1 of couch to 5K so more walk than run but it?s a start) on Sunday. Shredded and played netball last night. My thighs can feel it today.

Had to pop into Tescos on the way home for a few bits. Weirdly as I walked the aisles I had a craving for pickled onions Confused. Definitely NOT pregnant but they hit the spot Grin

iluvcake · 08/02/2011 09:30

dogwalker, hope the walk does the trick and you are feeling better later.

I had a rubbish day yesterday, ate all sorts of crap which made me feel like crap. I find it difficult when I've indulged in bad eating for a while (Christmas, holidays) to get back on track. Didn't shred last night as felt sick and bloated due to my biffage. However, had a good dinner of herb chicken breast and steamed veg (was actually a relief after the rich food on hol).

Started with porridge this morning. Craved something sweet after the school run but have managed to talk myself out of it. Pilates later and then street dance class tonight.

Hope everyone has a good day.

iluvcake · 08/02/2011 09:33

Well done justaminute, you're definitely being seeing results with all that exercise.

I am supposed to be doing a 10k run in May but am terrified. I can only run for 10mins at the moment. Should I be running 3x a week or more? I'm not sure how to go about it.

justaminute · 08/02/2011 09:41

iluvcake ? google couch to 5K, I think there might even be a 10K version. It recommends running 3 times a week. When I part did it in the Summer I got upto 20 minutes of running within 6 weeks ? I was amazed as I was a complete beginner who hated the idea of running.

iluvcake · 08/02/2011 09:44

Thanks for that-will have a look.

dinkystinky · 08/02/2011 10:00

Iluvcake - check out "Running made easy" (either from your library or Amazon) - I think its got a 10k or half marathon plan in it and is brilliant (loads of inspiring stories). If you can run for 10 minutes, walk for 3, run for 10 again, walk for 3 etc for an hour you can definitely do a 10k. Yes, I think you should be focussing on your running (3x a week - one interval training, one long slow run to build distance and one tempo run or short fast run) from now on and you'll be fab at your race in May. I have given up doing running races as every time I have entered one in the past 5 years (all of twice) it turned out I was pregnant on the day of the race (unbeknown to me) - dont want any more babies just yet so am avoiding races...

knottyhair · 08/02/2011 10:10

Morning everyone!

TDW - you poor thing, hope you feel better and your walk does you some good. Justaminute, I love pickled onions! My mum does her own every year and they are VERY spicy. And wow to all that exercise. iluvcake, enjoy your classes as well, and good luck with the 10K - you're a better woman than me. I've tried to get into running in the past but I hate it! But I can second the recommendation for Running Made Easy if you are into it - my sister went from a beginner to doing a 10K with the help of that book. And Grin to Dinky for the (very good!) reason to avoid races!
Just done Level 2, Day 5, and I managed a full set of squat thrusts for the first time, but still can't do double jump rope! Got chicken noodle soup again for lunch and healthy version fish and chips for dinner. Have a good day everyone!

justaminute · 08/02/2011 10:27

TDW ? sorry I missed your post. Hope the walk works, drink lots of warm drinks/ soup and up the vitamin C.

Knottyhair ? I can?t do double jumps either. I seem to have a complete lack of coordination, I just can?t seem to turn the wrists twice and jump. I do a high normal skip instead.

knottyhair · 08/02/2011 10:32

Thanks justaminute, that's what I do as well. Same here re: coordination of the wrists and jumping. Glad I'm not the only one!

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 08/02/2011 19:37

Hi everyone, glad we all seem to be on track, and im uber impressed with all this exercise malary going on! I have not shredded today as i have had a really busy day at work and im poogled so will do it tomorrow. (im also secretly afraid of the level 2 and 3 shred talk)

Justaminute - do you have proper running trainers? As i have been meaning to start Couch to 5K but i have not yet purchased trainers (i just have bog standard lonsdale for chucking on with the joggers on a slobbing out day) and i keep puting it off.

Still on track and managed to refuse a Tunnocks waifer this morning at work and had a slice of toast for breakfast, bowl of special k and a low fat yog for lunch.

Have had a little french fancie after dinner as a treat.

knottyhair · 08/02/2011 19:46

What's his name, Jean Paul? Grin

Guitargirl · 08/02/2011 21:25

Hi everyone, wow, you are all doing really well - fingers crossed for good results for everyone on Friday!

I watched the Biggest Loser last night and was amazed at how much weight those guys are losing in a week, one man lost 9lbs!!! Granted, he's rather a large gentleman to start off with but still!

Have just done Level 2 day 3. Still following Anita for most of it. With the double jump rope, I do single for the first set and push it to finish with double for the second set. My fitness levels can't manage both.

DP did say he'd noticed a difference the other day! Grin

Am sure my hips are getting wider though Hmm and my arms definitely getting more muscly which is not exactly what I wanted!

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 09/02/2011 06:57

lol Knottyhair, yes it was and definatly a treat! Wink

knottyhair · 09/02/2011 07:09

Glad you enjoyed your "treat" thinbride {smutty emoticon}.
It's my day off shredding today, so I'm walking into town which takes about half an hour and will keep an extra eye on my food intake. Beans on toast for breakfast, chicken noodle soup (again! but it is nice) for lunch, and duck stir-fry with noodles for dinner. Hope everyone has a good day!

dinkystinky · 09/02/2011 08:48

Guitargirl -are you sure your hips are getting wider? Isnt it that your waist is getting smaller so your hips look wider?

Had another biffing incident with some chocolate buttons last night - suspect am about to come on as that's when the chocolate craving hits hard. But line drawn, meal planned for today (and no chocolate in sight -out of sight, out of mind) and have a run at lunchtime planned.

Knotty - id you like chicken noodle soup, have you tried chinese chicken and sweetcorn soup? Its my absolute favourite and soooooo easy to make!

justaminute · 09/02/2011 09:20

Thinbride ? I wear a pair of Asics they are specifically netball trainers but fine for running in. I don?t think you need to spend oodles on a pair of running trainers but I wouldn?t recommend fashion trainers. Intending to do run 2 tonight if dh gets in at a reasonable hour.

Knotty ? you made me chuckle with your ?Jean Paul? quip- very witty!

dinkystinky · 09/02/2011 09:26

Thinbride - other essential for running is a good sports bra (especially if you're well endowed in the chest department). The shock absorber run one is v good but expensive. I agree a good pair of trainers is a good idea and makes a huge difference - if you can go to a running shop and get them to analyse your gait they'll help fix you up with the right pair for you.

iluvcake · 09/02/2011 09:57

Hi all. Have been out for my run but am worried as am not sure running is for me. I'm happy doing my own thing now and again but the thought of running 3x a week doesn't appeal. Might have to think the 10k!

Absolutely evil evil PMT today. The binmen got it in the neck this morningBlush. I feel so low I could quite easily just go to bed and not get up all day. I KNOW it's connected to the amount of sugar I've had recently so that's an incentive to get back on track as I SO HATE feeling like this. Like you, dinky, I always want chocolate and I had it yesterday, in spades.

Will try my best to stay on track today.

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 09/02/2011 11:22

Well i have located a pair of very cheap Penn running trainers in Sports Direct for £7! Bargain, especially as i only want them to try out this couch to 5 k and if i enjoy it and want to continuce running i will invest in a decent pair.

Also i already have a couple of sports bra's as im only a DD but i dont want them streaching to my knees with exercise!

justaminute · 09/02/2011 12:03

Thinbride ? ?I?m only a DD? Shock.
I?m only a B cup and my sports bra is my best friend when I?m out jogging Smile

thinbridewaitingtogetout · 09/02/2011 12:29

Sorry, did not mean too offend , i just mean they were not tripple f or anything!

Was about to purchase bargain trainers but forgot i have DD termly ballet fee's to pay today and i order her new Ballet shoes last week so will hav them to pay for Grrrrrr will order them next week i think.

Supposed to be saving money and have have dn birthday last week, dd friends birthday a day later, dn next tue and DD 2 friends and ds's a week or so later! Going to be skinty McSkinterson this month!
