Welcome one and all - if you're following the new WW ProPoints plan then this is the thread for you!

Whether you need to lose a little or a lot you'll be right at home, we're friendly, supportive and we're all in the same boat!

androbb is our resident stats checker and helps to track what we've lost as a thread so far, nothing more motivating then seeing just how much weight is coming off.

Feel free to dive in and join us Grin

I keep hearing about the shred and it sounds good, but tough. Do you need to have a reasonable base level of fitness before starting?

collision · 19/01/2011 21:42

1lb off,

very pleased

gibbberish · 19/01/2011 21:45

That's excellent Lee! Like the gaelic too Grin

LeeWT · 19/01/2011 21:45

BAKE your own baguette not make.. Damn iPhone!

siucra · 19/01/2011 21:47

Lorelai,
The Shred is good in that you start at a very low level - and it is amazing how far you find yourself coming. I still can't do a push up (more a slight dip while grunting in agony), but it's a million times better than I was when I started. I am determined to finish the 30 days just to see if it works!

I will do anything if it works!

Go raibh maith agat Lee!

LuckyLight · 19/01/2011 23:51

Evening all, late one for me, just back from being at my friend's for dinner. God bless her soul she cooked us a delicious 3 course meal that was so healthy, I have pointed the whole meal at just 24 pps! It was red pepper stuffed with tomatoes and boursin cheese with rocket to start, then baked cod with veg, a bit of pesto and I had some stromboli bread, I had no rice. Pudding was disappointing cos it was a Christmas cake strudel....I can't stand Christmas cake (bleurghh!) but honestly felt like I had to have a little bit out of politeness as she had cooked it from scratch. It was ok, but just not my thing and therefore not worth the pps!!!

androbbob (and anyone else interested!) I started this time at 11 stone 7lbs in August last year, at my heaviest in 2006 after DD1 was born, I got up to 12st 8 lbs.
Sooooo, I have gone from 11st 7lbs to 9st 13.5 lbs since August, 5 months. I had got to 10st 13lbs on my own before I started propoints. Will post photo of scales when I reach goal Smile.

Sorry, just a quick one as I really should be getting to bed!

Night all
Lucky X

LuckyLight · 19/01/2011 23:52

Oh, and after posts re level 2 Shred, will def give that a go!

Willabywallaby · 20/01/2011 07:26

So first meeting last night, weighed in at 10 stone 12lb, which was less than I was expecting. I signed up for the monthly membership so need to find time to log in my details. I'm a bit unsure of it all, but here goes Grin

NormaSknockers · 20/01/2011 07:38

Good morning one and all Grin

Gosh, another page or two to catch up on! I'll catch up asap!

NormaSknockers · 20/01/2011 07:51

Hello and welcome Secret well done on joining up to your meeting, you'll find this thread really helpful :)

Well done on your healthy chips vnmum good thinking! Good luck for WI this morning :)

Your poor DD gibbberish must have been scary for you too! How is she today, did she have a good night sleep?

Yay well done on your loss sweetheart chuffed for you Grin

Fantastic loss Lorelai brilliant stuff! Grin

Glad you had a lovely birthday Starvin

Hello and welcome to siucra and dearprudence hope you find this thread a help to you, anything you need to ask just ask away!

hmc yet another fabulous loss, well done you! And what a fab total loss so far too, you must feel so chuffed?

Well done Lee on your loss too, brilliant stuff, don't blame you having a nice treat either, why not!! I did the same Monday night as I had all my weeklies left so had a lovely MYO pizza from Asda Wink

And well done collision too another excellent loss - my goodness we're all doing so well!!

Sounds like a lovely meal Lucky how sweet of your friend to make it all as healthy as possible!

So then - how are we all feeling? Everyone feeling motivated and on track or are any of us starting to feel the urge to snack/binge/give up?

Does anyone have a mini goal they would like to reach this/next week?

Andro has been doing a fabulous job of keeping an eye on the stats and come Saturday the winners of my one of my little incentives will be announced - it could be you Grin

OP posts:
Lorelai · 20/01/2011 08:34

Thanks Norma. If I do well this week I may reach the first of my mini goals - to have lost as much as my 7 week old DD weighs. I have now lost the same as she weighed at birth (slightly more actually), now just need to lose the 3lbs or so she has put on since then :)

My next mini goal will be my 5% which will be another 3ish lbs after that.

But my real motivation will be my medium term goal of getting below 15 stone which I have never been (as an adult anyway!). That is about 5 stone away though :(

NormaSknockers · 20/01/2011 09:14

Don't be :( Lorelai you can do it, I won't lie and say it won't be hard work and it's not going to be quick but you can do it. Before you know it you'll have hit all those mini goals and you'll be well on your way to getting under that magic 15 stone. There will be bumps along the way, there will be times when you feel like giving up and just staying as you are but then you'll get back on the road again and the weight will keep coming off.

If someone had said to me 2 years ago I would be over 3 stone lighter and wearing a size 14 I would never have believed them. I was the biggest I had ever been, I was desperately unhappy and had absolutely no confidence or self esteem at all - I'm only in handful of photos with my babies because I couldn't bear to have my photo taken and that makes me so sad when I look back. But here I am, 2 years on, over 3 stone down, I'm happier, healthier, I feel like 'me' again, I've got more confidence in myself and I actually feel attractive, now you can't keep me out of photos with my babies Wink

I promise you, you will get there, and we'll all be here, cheering you on every step of the way!

bigTillyMint · 20/01/2011 09:16

Well, I tried my best to be good last night, but I'm finding it hard to point as it wasn't a chain restaurant. Any ideas?
I had
moules marineres (not reamy version, and I didn;t have any of the "sauce" anyway, and no bread!) - 4pp??
roast sea bass and a few veg - no idea
lemon sorbet about a scoop and a half - ?

And I stuck to diet coke and fizzy water Smile

NormaSknockers · 20/01/2011 09:50

Tilly from looking at some points values lemon sorbet is 2 PPs for a serving so that should cover that. Sea bass, cooked, is 3 PPs per fillet but you can't be sure what it was roasted in IYKWIM so I'd be tempted to count it as 5/6 PPs, veg again I would count as 1/2 PPs as it could have been cooked in oil?

I can't find any points for mussles though!

OP posts:
froot · 20/01/2011 10:40

Mussels prob similar to scalloPs ? Didn't someone post they were 9 for 1 Pp or something like that so well barganacious I would think !

I am going to try level 2shred tomorrow (god help me ) . Not today as tap-dancing class then treadmill later then half hour walk to choir and back ! Must stick to schedule - I have exercise schedule and meal plans for the week stuck on my fridge - planning is the only way I can keep on the straight and narrow .......which is hopefully how I will look eventually !!

bigTillyMint · 20/01/2011 10:53

Thanks!

Well, if I even count mussels as 3, seabass was whole (didn't eat the skin!) so maybe 8? and veg as 2, sorbet as 4, that makes 17, so not too bad.

Oh and I had about 10-12 small olives too.

LeeWT · 20/01/2011 11:00

lorelai I have not been under 13 stone since I was 18 and met dh (12 years ago now) and ultimately my goal would be to be that size again .. I'm not sure if you're like me but it feels impossible and unimaginable to be that size. I always diet and reach 14 stone, start to feel good about myself because I can buy size 16 instead of 18 and promptly put it all on again.. A form of self sabotage I suppose. But you CAN lose all that weight and if anything having that much to lose will make the first bit easier. Like Norma says it won't be quick but it will happen. When I broke through to 15 stone I said to myself those scales will never say 16 again!!!

I asked my ww leader whether mcdonalds for 20 points or homemade chicken tikka baguette and oven chips for 20 points was different in terms of weightloss and she felt that although the same points that your body would take longer to work off the homemade meal and would be better for weightloss. What do you all think? Coz I'd have loved a mcdonalds!!

I'm interested by all this shred talk but I don't actually know what shred is!!

Willabywallaby · 20/01/2011 11:04

One lady at my meeting last night reached her goal. She'd lost 106lb in 15 months, so that was good inspiration!

hmc · 20/01/2011 11:04

Phew! - not too many posts to catch up on since last posting. Well done LeeWT on your 1.5lb which is a great result given all that you've got going on with your little boy.

Lorelai you'll be fine to do level 1 Shred - it will be demanding initially but you will soon build up stamina and if you do it remind yourself it is only 20 minutes.

Norma - thanks, I am well chuffed at the steady and sustained losses of 2-3lbs. Have dropped 2 clothes sizes and already feeling more positive about myself. I know what you mean about being absent from pictures with your children - I have had a weight problem since dd was born eight years ago (compounded by ds when he was born) so I am absent from photos of their childhood for past 8 years (didn't want to spoil a picture of them looking photogenic and angelic)...I am looking forward to braving the camera lens in about another 10lbs time!

Froot - you're sounding super organised there!

hmc · 20/01/2011 11:07

shred for LeeWT

TartyMcFarty · 20/01/2011 11:10

Can't keep up or mention personals as a m at work, but well done for the losses.

I had a dreadful day yesterday, really fell off the wagon. Am trying to rectify it today and intending to go to the gym this evening. Ooops Blush

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/01/2011 11:23

morning :)

will do housework today and body combat at gym tonight - so hoping for a loss tomorrow

Lorelai well done on fab weight loss and keep up good work, you will get to your gaol weight- remember a lb a week is just under 4 stone a year - this is long haul, you may have the odd blip but rem your weight is going down and your happiniess going up :)

starvin well done for staying in pp esp on yr birthday

sweetheart well doen on 2.5lb loss

benbenandme well done

dearprudence welcome and i shred every now and again but do go to the gym 3 times a week (work permitting)

gibberish hope dd neck sorts out soon

hmc well done reaching 10%

androbbob wow 37lbs is amazing - hope i lose tom to add to your stats

leewt another loss, well done - seems wednesday is weigh day mainly on here lol

collision well done

lucky sounds a yummy meal and sweet she cooked healthily for you - yuk at xmas cake, i would have left, no point wasting points on something you dislike Grin

norma you have lost over 3 stone? thats fab

i had a sweet chicken low fat baguette from subway last night, book says 10, but using the nutritional values and my trusty friend aka calculator it said 9 - a spare point for 3 maltearsers Grin well if 12 = 3pp then 4 = 1pp :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/01/2011 11:25

forgot to say did anyone see last night

will my crash diet kill me?

NormaSknockers · 20/01/2011 12:03

I have Blondes yes (pics in my profile) I've lost 3 stone 6.5lbs to date (so 48.5lbs) and by the time I reach goal I will have lost 5 stone Grin Been a long, hard road but I'm so pleased with what I've achieved!

I'd have the McDonalds Lee but I can't help myself lol! I've had a McDonalds twice since starting PP and lost both those weeks so I don't really think it makes a difference?

Don't fret Tarty it's not the falling off you have to focus on, it's the getting back on track and staying there that counts Wink
