Here is the new thread for us to achieve success in Xmas Smile

Old thread is here

I'll change my name to my "Christmas" one after Saturday: I'm helping to organise the Scottish Mumsnet Christmas meet-up and it might confuse things if I change my name.

I have finally knocked sugar on the head! No longer take sugar in my tea, or sugar on my cereal. I admit, they are nicer with, but I am happy to eat without them now, which must help with the amount of tea I drink in a day.

Smalline · 15/01/2011 12:40

Grr I hate it when this happens, have just typed my post and lost it whilst previewing, so here I go againAngry.

Sorry to hear about your dear friend BlondesSad

Well done fellow slinkies, it's very hard getting back into the zone after a break, but it looks like we are all backGrin

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/01/2011 14:31

piste was this your pic

well done smokin for giving up sugar - must admit i have a bit of splendour over some cereals as so bland

well done smalline on your 2 lbs loss, i noticed you dont have a goal weight -what would you ideally like to get down to?

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/01/2011 18:00

owwwwwwwwwwwww

my arms and legs ache :( from boxersize yesterday and body combat today

'whimpers'

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/01/2011 18:12

Aw Blondes! And no, that was not my picture of you in my mind, the one I had was much worse LOL

Loved The King's Speech - isn't CF brilliant? I can quite understand he had tension headaches etc, he was really convincing. Def deserves an Oscar, but DH thinks it is too British a film for him to be recognised. Well this is for Colin Firth! Saw what you meant about the swearing GT but when it's in context like that, I really don't mind with my DC, and to be honest they all hear much the same in a Junior school playground, I always say that they will hear it all but I expect them not to choose to use it!!

Hope everyone's having a good weekend

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/01/2011 18:32

Mr blondes is in the dog house - again

Yesterday he Stole 1/4 of my 22pp pizza - Thi meant he did save me 5pp

Today went to watch the biggest loser - havnt had time to watxh it as been night nannying for past 5 nights / only to find that he had deleted it Shock

Thank the lord for itv iplayer :)

I did think the bike ride was tough

Having a Chinese tonight - not sure what yet - possibly chicken chow mein 9pp and chicken balls 13 - so 22pp - I always would share 1/2 with hubby

GettinTrimmer · 15/01/2011 18:57

Glad you saw the King's Speech Piste. I think Geoffrey Rush deserves an oscar too, he was funny/sensitive/clever.

My dc have already heard some choice words, dd told me show knows the f-word Shock She's only 5! but like yours already they know not to use them.

I am thinking of going to see it again with dh.

Blondes, I am thinking of following your advice and going back to wwpp again, I am getting nowhere fast and still need to lose holiday weight and xmas weight Sad

These dhs are a pain, mine has bagged the telly and is watching football

Smalline - well done on your 2lb!

Smalline · 15/01/2011 19:09

I'm not sure what weight I would like to get down to to be honest Blondes, ideally 10 stone something I suppose, that was my pre-preganancy weight but that was 10+ years ago when I was a smoker. I would be happy to lose 1 stone before my 50th birthday in July, then take it from thereSmile.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 15/01/2011 19:28

Yes Rush too. I felt quite choked during the actual King's Speech at the end. Helena BC was good as well. Didn't think much of Michael Gambon though.

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/01/2011 19:28

A stone is doable :)

trimmer I'm getting my head (very slowly) round the new ww PP - I'm thrilled with my 3 lb loss - the only time I managed that was when things were bad with Dh last year :( (Tho all good at mo :) )

Tbh I wouldn't bother with the books and just buy the calculator

Are you going to try it!

And yes dh's are a pain - but as Havnt spent the last 5 nights with him coz of sleep training - I'm giving him benifit Grin

laughalot · 16/01/2011 08:23

Morning so I guess the birthday cake, chinese and bottle of wine I consumed last night isnt going to help the weigh in tomorrow. You see i had to eat it to get over the stress of dd birthday party Grin, it is difficult chasing 15 four year olds round lol. Its a good job iv been good all week.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 16/01/2011 08:42

I empathise on your stress laughalot! I'm sure she had a great time though so it would have been worth it!

Why not swap to a Friday weigh in then busy days like your Saturday this week sort of get swallowed up before it's weigh in again?

laughalot · 16/01/2011 09:28

Piste I think I will do that actually as I used to do a monday weigh in and changed it to a friday.

GettinTrimmer · 16/01/2011 10:16

Morning all Smile

blondes Bearing in mind I have some information, it could be a good idea to try wwpp again, we can do it together. I have counted 29 points already to have for today. My breakfast was 2pp, low fat yogurt with 2 small bananas and a few grapes, and I feel stuffed.

lunch will be couscous (6pp), prawns (3pp), low fat mayo (1pp) and free salad veg.

laughalot I've just booked for dd's 6th birthday, she wants it in a local soft play area but I would have done it at home if she'd wanted. I can understand the stress chinese/wine/cake!

smalline my birthday is in July also, I should probably aim for goal by them, I would like to be 10stone 10.

piste I didn't realise Anthony Andrews was also in Kings Speech, he was one of the prime ministers (Chamberlain?). I still think of him as a young blonde man in Brideshead Revisited. I think HBC is ace, very versatile, I love her Bellatrix in HP.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 16/01/2011 10:35

Laughalot - the only prob i find with a Friday is that I can get a bit demob happy over the weekend, but I know that is something I must avoid.

GT Yes AA - has not aged too well Grin he's all sort of big eyes and Big ears!! And yes to Bellatrix - HBC is madly wild or wildly mad. Either way, that part was made for her! All four of us are looking forward to seeing the last film next summer.

I'm a June baby and would love for my scales to register 10 something by then. I was ten and a half when we got married and I was really quite slinky. I think that will be my 2011 target. After that comes the true challenge of maintaining.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2011 12:21

kings speech doesnt appeal to me at all, tho those who have seen it,said its fab - tho i do like HBC - she was in something i saw the other day (not HP)

laughalot you needed the cake/wine etc, birthday partys are manic at the best of times, let alone with little ones dashing about

thats why i do a friday weigh in,as if had a busy/manic food/wine weekend then can budget points for rest of the week - some feel (ie piste lol) that they are too bad on a friday/weekend and prefer the monday threat of a weigh in Grin

its whatever works for you :)

trimmer my birthday is also july, and although only have 8lbs to get too my gaol weight - the bloody trousers are not fitting :( i think i need to tone more - they used to fit me at 11 stone but i really dont think they will in 8lbs time iyswim :( so may have to try and get weight lower but last time when i did i couldnt keep it there, think got down to 10/7and then when stopped ww went back to 11 stone and managed to keep it there with ease

ww pp say to have a good breakie of 6pp
lunch of 8pp
dinner of 11
treat/snack of 4pp

and then snack on fruit inbetween

i tend to have 5/6 for breakie and lunch and dinner of 12 or include a yog/crisps in that iyswim rather than have 8 , as a 8pp meal is hard to find :( for example your lunch is 10pp

breakie of 2 weetabix 3pp and 1/2skim 2pp = 5pp
not sure about lunch but have some lovely low pp meals from M&S

RatherBeOnThePiste · 16/01/2011 13:35

Alright Mrs Blondes, you were right, I was wrong. Friday is a superior weigh in day. Monday is just pants.

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2011 13:47

:)

bebejones · 16/01/2011 15:02

Just using the expensive mobile broadband to check in and say hello! Our landline phone is now not working at all Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! Will be back on Tuesday if not before, fingers crossed!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2011 15:32

oh no bebe do you not get free internet on your mobile, like i do?

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2011 15:34

piste foot/ankle is doing ok but OMG my arms/thighs and stomach are on fire

i was fighting the teacher friday and sure he made me work harder then the rest of the class and owwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww

smokinaces · 16/01/2011 19:12

I weigh in on Mondays as I have noooooooooooo self control and would end up spending all week making up for the inevitable face stuffing after a Friday weigh in.

Had a good day. Went to London to the War Museum with my mum, and had pea soup and bread for lunch. Not as low fat as I'm sure it could have been, but better than a lot of the alternatives. Fish, jacket potato and veg for dinner. Kids are in bed, housework is done, so will jump on the exercise stepper and bike in a bit.

Hoping for another 4lb, 3 minimum tomorrow, but maybe I'm just being optimistic. My birthday is August, and am determined to be at target by then, of just shy of 10st. Mini target is 24th March when I have the consultant when I really want to be 11st.

bebejones · 16/01/2011 19:14

I get so many minutes on my phone but this is a dongle thingy for the laptop. Hoping the BT bloke can fix our broadband/phone on Tuesday...I'm not holding my breath!

Blondeshavemorefun · 16/01/2011 19:41

Have never understood about dongles

Smokin - good luck with wi Tom - but don't get upset if you don't lose 4 lbs - anything between 1 and 2 lns a week is healthy :)

I have 13pp for tea and dint know what to have - I do have some chicken kiefs in the freezer but havt PP then yet and thought might have with bns

And of course some crisps :)

Got friends over for lunch tomorrow - will dash to shop and either get jackets or low fat quiche and salad for lunch

Will also prob make some 0 point soup at work - easier there as they have a dw and I don't :(

What's everyone else eating?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 16/01/2011 20:23

Are dongles the same as prongles?
