Wynken broke the other thread!

Have been so busy at work, only in the door a few minutes. Haven't eaten yet, but weirdly not hungry.
Must have something otherwise will suddenly get ravenous.
Looks like everyone is doing ok though.
Am actually looking at Shred DVD (Still in its cellophane wrapping!)but too wrecked to start doing it today.

Wynken its a shame when a consultant spoils things. The one I had was definitely there for the money and didn't want to know if you'd gained and needed help. I hear from my friend that still goes that they are trying to make the group a 'sister' group, whatever that is? The consultant announced this and said she would be being observed and would be doing things differently which my friend took to mean 'correctly' Hmm

Lulumaam · 24/11/2010 14:09

ewll done upsy and everyone else who's losing and well done on the weight loss so far!

so sorry to hear about crappy consultant.. she called your friend a 'rich bitch' in earshot of the group??! unforgiveable

i'd be complaining to head office

after 4 days off the wagon, i am now back on with a vengeance!! lost a shade under 2 stone in 10 weeks so had a pigout few days of relaxing

just had yog & fruit for brekky, just had syn free chilli for lunch and going to have soup for superfree.. got a beef & veg casserole in the slow cooker for supper so all organised now

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 24/11/2010 15:57

Lulumaam, your loss is absolutely inspirational, a huge pat on the back.

The Rich Bitch thing is what the consultant does to get a laugh, shd did it when someone was on a cruise. I know she's being tongue in cheek but get the impression there is a slight edge to it. On some levels she is actually really good but I've got to the stage where she is definitely bugging me and I'm not prepared to let my negative feelings about her sabotage my weightloss, hence a switch for the moment.

To be fair to her, she isn't like the one you had Kungfu, you don't feel she's just there for the money and she can be very supportive . But I did like the WW's leader today, she seemed really genuine and there was no edge to her. Am eating much the same as I would on SW today but not decided yet about tea. 2 weetabix and an apple for breakfast, chicken, jacket spud, roast pepper and green beans for lunch and currently eating pineapple with Total 0% yoghurt. Am hoping I can get to my strangely elusive 2 stone loss in the next week or two.

ditavonteesed · 24/11/2010 16:50

she sounds like a nightmare tbh I wouldnt go back, you are right not to let her sabotage you though.
well I am having a right day, dd2 been sent home from nursery as she was sick, had dd1 off earlier in the week as she was sick, poor babies, so now I am thinking I really fancy a chinese, dont know why but ill kids makes me want junk think it is because I cant be bothered to cook and would rather give my attention to them. already demolished 3 club biscuits rather than the 1 I had allowed for. also twisted my knee somehow and struggling to walk, was up early as I couldn't sleep because of the pain. Also not going to get my pam, pering day I had planned on friday as dd cant go back to nursery, no biggy really as I want to spend a bit more time with her before she starts school in Jan but I wanted to dye my hair before I go out on friday night (assuming I can walk properly by then).

Definalty going to join SW to get the books although not just at the momnent as dh doesnt want me to go out alone at night as there have been some nasty attacks on women round here.
Lulu I wouldnt really fall out with you, you have been doing an amazing job and impirsing the rest of us.
Kungfu, sounds wierd abouta sister group wtf does that mean, she sounds like another crap one, the sw consultant here is crap although the plan did work for me before so going to have to face her.

whatkungfuthat · 24/11/2010 17:15

No idea Dita, I was going to google it. My friend said something about it being like a superior group, not that she cares, she says the leader is pants and she only goes to that one as its round the corner. The other thing I have noticed is that the SW consultants and area managers that I have met haven't been in any way slim Confused

Book says its 6 syns for all flavours OIAB

Lulumaam · 24/11/2010 20:13

I;m the same dita, if i am tired or stressed, i want to reach for easy options.. take out, toast , chocolate and wine.. it's a comfort thing and a bad habit

re SW consultants.. our consultant could possibly lose a stone or two and not miss it BUT she has lost 4 stone, seems to stay the same weight, and if you ask her anything she knows the asnwer, she sends personalised cards and emails, recipe tips etc. and that for me is more important

but i do sometimes wonder if she is struggling to get to her target or has set a high one, but at the end of the day she's warm, jolly, approahcable and knows her stuff , so she can have my £4.95 a week Grin

i thikn calling other group members names, even tongue in cheek is mean, and i am really averse to any sort of humiliation..

i'd be really ticked off it taht was my leader

findingtheRialme · 24/11/2010 23:53

wfk, the leaders of the SW groups I have been to have been slim, but , following some encounters I suspect brainwashing as part of the training! That said, I "met" someone on an old SW thread who has recently hit target and become a consultant, and she is lovely. Don't know which kind of consultant I would prefer though TBH, one who lives in the real world and struggles (and gains) from time to time, or one who is like that Janet Dibley character on Fat Friends and is scared to fail. I wonder how true that was? (I digressBlush)

DH is sulking and it is pissing me off.

ditavonteesed · 25/11/2010 08:10

OMG I am wearing a size 12 dress, I know it is because it is strectchy but even so. Grin

findingtheRialme · 25/11/2010 08:27

yay ditaGrinGrin

I have a snowed-in DS2 (and associated friend whose mum works at the other school which is not yet closed) this morning. Am waiting for DS1 to come back from the bus...

feel it may be a day of bacon sandwichesBlush

whatkungfuthat · 25/11/2010 08:58

Sorry if I sounded 'judgy pants' I think I am just down on the old consultant. Off for my WI soon, not staying today as it was a bit cold in the hall last week so will be freezing this week. I say this as a near-londoner and I realise that some you guys in the north are copping really bad weather when all we have is a bit of frost Grin

Melty · 25/11/2010 09:53

Bacon Sandwiches are just fine. (Keep it wholemeal)
Slap a tomato on it call it a red day!

Have been ill all week.
Looked after friends gorgeous DD on Saturday afternoon. She spent the afternoon chucking up, (and being perfectly fine afterwards)
She is now better, but I have had nausea really badly ever since. My friend was sick for 2 days and is better now.
Dont want to eat, but am forcing myself to have small stuff.
Felt ok ish yesterday so had a banana, didnt feel too bad afterwards.
Had some chicken and a bit of couscous at lunch and wanted to hurl all afternoon.
Today I woke up feeling nauseus again. Though perhaps I need to eat.
Had poached egg on toast and feel dreadful now.
I cant bear going into the kitchen.

Those consultants really aren't very nice.
I had sich a lovely one in the past.
I dont mind if they are not skinny, my favourite consultant was about 10-12 lbs over and had the same struggles we had, but had lost 4 and a half stone.
And she was so supportive. I wish I lived near that class these days.

whatkungfuthat · 25/11/2010 10:18

Sorry to hear you have been poorly Melty, that sounds like the winter vomiting bug. Glad you are on the mend. Hope the snow isn't too much of a nuisance for those who have it, we are due it on Saturday. DS1 is off to Austria with his school on Monday so we are hoping that Heathrow is not affected.

Just got back, lost 2.5 pounds, yay! Also asked the consultant about xmas group times, they are only closed the thurs between xmas and NY. This will help keep me on track as if it were closed the day before xmas eve too I could go seriously off track Blush

desiretochange · 25/11/2010 11:06

Morning everyone, am finally in the zone, and ready to start losing weight, have stopped and started for a few weeks now but going to go hell for leather now Hmm
As I said before I am not attending a class but doing it by myself with just Food Optimising book for inspiration, going to go with Extra Easy to start.
So far today I have had lean bacon, scrambled eggs and beans for brekkie. Have also eaten 1 apple and Danone activia strawberry snackpot.
Have a question though . . . if part of the success of Extra Easy is to fill a third of your plate with Superfree Foods then what should I add to above breakfast to follow plan properly??

Melty · 25/11/2010 11:34

Fresh fruit.(although you had an apple)
Mushrooms or tomatoes perhaps.
I really think the main idea of the 1/3 superfree is to stop filling up on the higher calorie carby/protein stuff.
So if you had mushrooms, perhaps you wouldnt have wanted the beans.
I think you if you balance the superfree over the day it does work out.

OP posts:
desiretochange · 25/11/2010 11:56

Hi Melty, sorry to hear you were unwell:( thanks for replying, really want to do it right this time. I had the apple and yoghurt to keep me going till lunchtime so glad to hear you say that if you balance the superfree over the day it does work out, feel like I can look at the apple and yoghurt as an extension of my breakfast now:)

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 25/11/2010 12:30

Hello Melty, sorry to hear you've been unwell and hope you feel better very very soon :( Do you reckon you might have lost a pound or two as a result

Desire, I whack on loads of grilled tomatoes and mushrooms for my cooked breakfast.

Ria, sorry you have snow to contend with, we're like Kungfu and just have frost which is what Tesco Clubcards are very useful for ie. deicing the car. Hope you get your DS back soon.

Dita, size 12, fabulous, well done !!

Our consultant has lost 10 stone and overall she is good and motivating, it's just these other bits that bug me. But I'm leaving that behind me I've decided and will see how this month goes, keeping my options open with WW and SW.

Had a bit of a result at WI this morning, 3lbs off which means I have my 2 stone award, very unexpected it was and I am delighted.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 25/11/2010 12:31

Kungfu, sorry, forgot to say a big well done to you as well. How many pounds have you lost since starting Propoints and how does that compare to your losses on SW ?

desiretochange · 25/11/2010 12:38

Do you grill your mushrooms WBN? I usually fry (sautee) them in low fat spray, if grilling how long do you leave them under grill? (cooking not my strong point but want to learn Blush
Oh and congrats on your 2 stone loss:):) Happy Days!

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 25/11/2010 12:49

If I'm doing tomatoes as well I find it easier to just bung them in my little oven thing. I spray the baking tray with spray light, cut tomatoes in half then chuck them in for I'd guess 15 minutes maybe whilst other bits are doing.

desiretochange · 25/11/2010 12:57

So roast them really rather than grill WBN?

whatkungfuthat · 25/11/2010 13:15

Wynken, it was my 2nd WI and have lost 6lbs over 2 weeks compared to 8lbs in my first 2 weeks at SW (but was 3 stone heavier and dieting from 'cold' IYSWIM). The loss is better than I expected especially when you consider that I had a massive indian meal with all the bits at the weekend Blush I think this is where those extra 49 points come in handy!

findingtheRialme · 25/11/2010 13:40

well done on the 6lb wkf (not judgey pants BTW, perfectly fair observation IMO, and I didn't like either of the consultants from the 2 groups I went to)

yay on the 2 stone wynken.

have survived the morning, though I don't think my "mindee" enjoyed himself (because he didn't get his own wayWink) we made monkey nuts threaded on wire for the birds, and decorated plant pots with snowdrops in. Poor DS1s bus turned up, and he was honest enough to wait and the bus stop and get on it. There are plently of others who didn't bother. The snow has stopped now, but my sister who lives 20 mins away has a blizzard going on. Sounds like my nephew has the winter vomiting bug.

hope you soon feel better melty.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 25/11/2010 13:41

Yes, I guess it is more roasting . I have a grill in my main oven but usually just use my little mini camping oven as it is quicker and costs loads less to run.

Kungfu, that is really good, well done. Nice to see PP working, I'm looking forward to using my weekly points. I was going to make a couple of pitta pizzas for lunch but now I know I can have them, they are less appealing bizarely. So am having bacon and pineapple stirfry instead.
